Like This All Along - Part 5 Halfway through the summer, the school board decided to put IB students at another school, which crushed Pat. There was nothing more that he wanted than to spend the next 4 years in classes with Dirk. Now that was ruined, so he had to try and spend his vacations and weekends with his friend. He never expected to be so busy though - the program proved to be extremely time consuming for everyone. From the second he got home until he went to sleep, he was loaded with massive amounts of work. He still went to school with his friends from middle school and he had a good life in many respects. One thing was still missing - someone to love. Pat was a fun person to be around - he was almost always in a good mood and he liked everyone. Going through high school would be difficult if he didn't have anyone to love and support. Even in the event he found a boyfriend, he would still be able to appear taken and therefore, straight. When he realized fate had turned against him with Dirk, he knew he would have to find someone. He never expected one of his friends to be his boyfriend all of his sophomore year. Then again, he didn't expect it to end in the manner in which it did. Freshman year, his friends had very little time to socialize - the struggle of time management strictly limited their social lives. This gave Pat time to find someone so he would not have to deal with his friends' prejudices. Unlike Travis and a few of the others in their group, he did not try as hard. He took somewhat easier courses and struggled to keep a B average... a 3.0 to be exact. This was due to his hours chatting with guys on the internet and his own limitations. Dirk's name always came back when he was chatting with other gay teens about his ideal guy. He never could forget him, especially when he had a chance. During this year, he took it easy and spent the summer and all of his vacations trying to find the guy he loved. This proved to be difficult - his wealthy crush went away on every trip his friends planned. Trips were a joint effort between Justin and Megan, and usually was to some exotic place. Cancun, Aruba, Barbados, Saint-Martin, anywhere they could dream of. Since money was no object, the 'Northern 16' would always leave school an hour early on the last day before a vacation and come back a day late. Needless to say, it was impossible to run into them. Pat never could get Dirk's email address or AOL screen name - since no one except his group knew his email and only a couple people at his school had his screen name. By the last day of school during freshman year, he told himself he could move on. As he spent the summer with his friends, he would eventually find his first boyfriend at a party in late July. This particular party was being held by his friend Jon, and it was very wild. Girls danced under hoses of beer in swimsuits; guys played beer-bong and there was an official "heaving bush". As part of his new view on life, he partied along: a little drunk and crazy. Eventually, he had to make his way to a toilet in Paul's parents' master bathroom. After wiping his mouth and getting up, his friend Adam walked in. His friend put a hand on his right shoulder, and surprised him. "You know, you look cute after you throw up," he said, holding a cup containing pure vodka. Clearly, he was very drunk; giving Pat a reason to cast it off as delusions. "Um, thanks Adam. Maybe you should take a seat by the toilet," Pat said, putting an arm around his friend's back to lead him over to the to bathtub adjacent to the white porcelain toilet. "No Pat, I'm for real. I have a little thing for you. Just a little," Adam says, trying to indicate a tiny amount with his fingers, but instead, opening them wide. " Adam, you are not gay," Pat said, trying to defend himself incase Adam was trying to make him come out. "Who says I have to be gay to like guys? Can't I like both?" he said, smirking at the very thought of a threesome with a guy and girl. "So you're half gay? I never knew that was possible. So why are you coming on to me?" Pat asked, slightly loosening up. "Because I really like you. You're cute and smart and I am the only member of our group who can tell you don't like girls the way we do. Tell me I'm wrong," Adam says, as he finally sits down. "I don't really know. You all want me to do some girl, and it just does not interest me in the way you all are," Pat said, sitting next to Adam after locking the door. "It wasn't a piece of cake knowing that I had to act a certain way either. I mean, I really do like girls, but there are a couple of guys I would like to get involved with. I do like you the best though," Adam said, trying to redeem himself^_ after that last statement. "If I really had to think about it, I do like you Adam. The thing is, I have no experience with guys. I mean, I danced with Dirk at the 8th grade dance, but I have no clue," Pat said, fully opening up now. "I had an experience once. Last year, I met this 16 year old guy online. We met in a park, and stuff happened. I've sucked cock and had unprotected anal sex against a bridge wall. I know how to drive, Pat," Adam said. "Were you tested? You could have HIV or something. Why would you do that?" Pat asked, very concerned for his friend. "I have been tested. About a week after this, I had a physical and that was one of the things the doctor tested me for when I said I lost my V-card. Clean on everything," Adam said. "Why though? Sex matters. I mean, did you even love the guy?" Pat asked, showing his dreamy view on love. "Well, we had been chatting for month, so we knew each other. Sometimes when you really like someone, you don't protest when they turn you face-first into a wall and pull your pants down. He was about a 6, so it was okay. He didn't prep me though, so I cried when he pushed his head in. It was the first time I had cummed due to something someone else did," Adam said. "You don't sound drunk, Adam. Were you just playing that so you could talk to me?" Pat asked, smiling a little as he figured it out. "Yeah. If we get together, I'll be a perfect gentleman. I will not push you to do anything you don't want to. I just would like to get to know you more," Adam said, putting an arm around Pat. "We'll keep this secret then?" Pat asked, smiling more as he allowed mischievous thoughts into his head - all of which involved making out with a guy. "Like I want people to know I'm into guys either. Oh, and when it comes to you seeming straight, you and I can share Kelly. It can't hurt," Adam said, slowly moving his head and meeting his lips with Pat's. His first kiss brought many thoughts to his head - all very erotic in nature. Images of steamy baths with Adam in his parent's hot tub, leading to him putting his arms over the side as Adam worked his probably large penis into him. This type of thinking put Pat in a new type of mood - a new one to him. He put his right hand around Adam's neck as they moved their lips together. It was clear that Adam was very experienced - after they had wrapped their arms around each other, Pat's make-out friend slipped his tongue into his mouth. This was very unexpected and Pat broke the kiss while still holding onto him. "What makes you think I know how to do that? Remember, this is my first time doing anything," Pat said in a mock strict tone. "Just work with it," Adam said, pulling Pat closer, nibbling on his lower lip. It took a little while, but Pat learned how to drive his boyfriend wild. They spent that summer hanging out with their friends, and later on, with each other. After their friends left, they would go to Pat's hot tub or Adam's pool. They would then engage in cuddling and making out. For the summer months, Pat was truly happy with Adam. He had not been pushed to give up his male-male V-card and Adam was the strong male who could still be a very good guy. Things would change as they went back to school. Even though Adam vowed not to change ever, he would no longer be the loving, supportive boyfriend Pat had wanted. As their course loads were still high on pressure, their relationship would suffer. Five minutes before the 1st bell rang on their second day of school, Pat walked over to Adam's locker with a mischievous look on his face. He closed Adam's locker door and kept smiling at him. "Not now Pat. We have something called school. Some of us want to go to a good school and not have others holding them back," Adam said, as he threw the door back open, nearly hitting Pat in the face. "Adam," Pat whispered, "what's going on? I mean, did I do something? If I did, I'm sorry and I'll do what I can to make it up to you." Pat's happy thoughts turned to worries that tugged at his heart. "You see me trying to work towards entrance to a school with a great law school for later on, and yet you keep bothering me. What is that?" Adam said as he zipped up his backpack and closed his locker door. "How am I bothering you? I haven't changed since this summer. This can't be about me," Pat said, stopping himself from putting a hand on Adam's wrist. "Yes it is you Pat. It's bad enough you choose not to work as hard as I do at school, but then you spend the time you could use for school work to distract me and get into it with me. That's not fair Pat," Adam said as he started walking away. Pat stops him and whispers in his ear, "If you need `you-time' or something, I can deal with that, but do not act like this towards me. I'm your boyfriend." With that, something went off in Adam. He threw his book bag down and pushed Pat hard enough to knock him down. As he was about to bend over and punch him, a teacher pulled him by the collar of his shirt into Principal King's office. As people came over to help Pat up, Pat jumped up and ran to the boy's bathroom. When he ran inside, he went to the handicapped stall, put the toilet seat down, rested his head in his hands and began crying softly. Travis followed him in, and pushed open the stall door to find Pat shaking as every pulse ran through him. Travis shut the stall door, locked it, and crouched down to comfort his best friend. As he put his hand on his shoulder, Pat removed his hands. "I don't know what I did. He's changed, Trav. He's not the same anymore. I don't know what's wrong with him, but I can't do this," Pat said, holding back more tears. "Well, I'm guessing you two are dating. Could someone else have heard you?" Travis asked, rubbing Pat's shoulder. "Fuck no, I was quiet as heck. All I said was about him being nasty when I'm just being his boyfriend. I'm a good guy, I don't deserve that shit," Pat said, crying a little more. Travis moved Pat more over on the seat and sat next to him; even though each had half a butt cheek hanging over the seat. He put an arm around Pat, and let his friend drop his head on his shoulder. "I don't think that was it. Maybe he's just stressed. He's in 4 AP courses. 1 is music, 1 is math, 1 is science and 1 is history. With the way our classes have started off, he must be stressed. Just let him cool down, then he'll get you flowers or something," Travis said. "Why couldn't he be like you right now? Holding me when I was under pressure too. Then he calls me stupid because I can't do what he can. I was one of the last people admitted to IB and I may as well not try so hard when I know I could never pull off an A average," Pat said. "Pat, you're smart in stuff like English. Don't act stupid - you can do most of what we can. If I can make a suggestion, maybe spend time earning that 3.4 Unweighted. Also, get a new boyfriend if A is still a bitch," Travis said. "Thanks Trav. You really helped," Pat said as he hugged his friend for a minute. After they broke, Pat walked to class with Travis. Things would only get worse for Pat though. He would deal with a stressful academic year, an angry boyfriend, and his own dreams of the boy who he still loved a year after they last saw each other.
