I will try to remember all the events as they happened, and illustrate them as best I can. This story is a true one, and happened Summer of 2009 in Southern Texas. His name was Demetrius, and I called him Demetri. And we loved each other. My Junior year I worked at Pizza Hut. I was involved in Orchestra, Mariachi, Guitar Choir, Swimming, worked Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays, and took three college classes, so I guess you can say I had a lot on my shoulders. I was Vice President of Mariachi and Section leader of the Viola Section in the Varsity Orchestra. I'm 5'10 and weigh 135 pounds, so I'm relatively thin. I have curly/wavy light brown hair. I have honey colored eyes, and am fit from swimming. The whole year I had been making payments to go on a trip to San Antonio with Orchestra at the end of the year, the total amount coming out to around six hundred dollars. It was scheduled in late May, and I love to travel, so I couldn't wait to go on the trip. I wouldn't say I was popular, but people at school looked up to me. I was talented musically and rather smart, so people thought highly of me. Everyone in Orchestra knew me, so when the trip finally came, I was excited to have fun with all my Orchestra friends. We went on a Charter Bus, the whole trip taking about six hours. When I first got on the bus after I loaded my luggage underneath the bus, I saw this cute young guy sitting alone towards the entrance of the bus. I had never seen him before, and this surprised me. I thought I had known virtually everyone in both Orchestras, but I found out I didn't. I passed by him to go sit with my friends in the back, and asked some of them who the heck that guy was. "Oh, that's Demetri" said my friend Wendy. "He doesn't talk much; he goes to IB, that school for G.T. kids, but comes here for Orchestra. Even there he doesn't have many friends." I found that strange, because really he was the cutest thing, and seemed polite and nice whenever he had to speak to anyone. I pushed it out of my mind though, because I paid lots of money to have fun on the trip, not to be sidetracked by this guy who I didn't even know. The bust trip took forever, and we watched movies and played games on our DS's. We made several stops for food breaks and such, and before I knew it we were approaching the city limits of San Antonio. We did several activities before checking into our hotel, one of them was going up to the top of this tower and looking down at the whole city. Demetri was there by himself, looking at this oracle coin machine curiously. I went up to it while he was looking at it, put in a quarter, and got my fortune. I read it aloud, and Demetri laughed after I finished reading it. I looked at him and said "These things are funny huh?" "They're shams obviously, and are pointless" he replied. I looked at him more closely then, and saw his beautiful dark brown eyes, his straight brown hair, his perfect white smile, and his slender frame. He was a few inches shorter than I was, so I had to look a bit lower than eye level. I think I stared at him to long, because he then nervously turned from my gaze and walked away. I then went back to my friends to look at the amazing view below, took loads of pictures, and headed back for the bus. We checked into our hotel, and then a friend and I went to the pool. This friend was a year older than I, and extremely built and cute, but straight, so I didn't even bother. I still checked him out of course. As we were getting out of the pool, Demetri came with his trunks and shirt into the pool room. I had my shirt off, showing my slight four pack, and he looked at it and shyly turned away to get ready to get into the pool. I said to him "You should've came with us; we had a blast in the pool and Jacuzzi" I slyly said. He responded "Maybe we can come together later" and smiled at me. I nodded, and went back to my room. After the hotel, we went to do various activities in downtown San Antonio. We went to play a lazer maze game, and a mirror maze as well. I did all this with my friends, and when we were about to leave it started to rain. Demetri was stuck with us in that "fun-house" location as well, all by himself. For some reason I have this thing for talking to people who are shy or don't have anyone else to talk to, probably because I used to be like that myself when I was younger. I went up to him and asked him if he was having fun that day, and he nervously replied "Yeah, it was okay I guess. I'm not really good much at physical activities, and my mom kinda made me come to this trip, but it's going fine I suppose." "Really? You were FORCED to come? I paid all this money just to be here, and I'm having a blast" I happily replied to him. We started talking about the games we had played, and our best times in both mazes. Then it finally stopped raining, and we were able to get back on the bus a few streets down. The teacher scolded us for being so late, but we weren't in any trouble really. Demetri got back on the bus first, by himself again. I decided to sit next to him, for I found him interesting and above all cute. He looked shocked that I sat next to him, and he asked "Um... Why are you sitting next to ME? Nobody ever really wants to talk to me." "I do" I replied, and busted out my DS to show him a game I had. He smiled when I told him that I wanted to sit next to him because I found him interesting and funny, and he seemed overjoyed by my words. I could tell that he liked me, at least in a friendly way. At that point in my head, I decided that we would be close friends, and I would be sure to make that happen. Starting from that day on, we spent as much time together as possible. My friends were a bit upset with me for abandoning them, but at the same time were amazed that I got Demetri to talk at all. The last day at San Antonio we went to Six Flags. At first it was Demetri, myself, Wendy, and a few other people who stuck together. Eventually it was just Demetri and I, and I wanted it that way. We went on all the rides together, and as we finally decided to go to the Waterpark, it started to rain, thus closing down the entire amusement park. But we had changed into our swimming gear before it started to rain, and I was amazed at Demetri's smooth torso. He wasn't fat or muscular, but rather beautifully curved. I learned that he was a Freshman as we talked, so he was even thinner than I was, but it turned me on all the more. When it started to pour, we found refuge in the bathroom near where we were. We were alone in the bathroom, and I felt his eyes on my body as my eyes were on his. When we both noticed this, we looked away pretending as if we were looking at something else. As I was about to make a move, a man in his twenties came in with his young son. We all waited there for the rain to subside before venturing out again. Finally on the way back to McAllen, I was glad to almost be home. The trip had exhausted me, but I had the greatest time there. I had never been to San Antonio before, and was glad that I paid the money to have such an incredible experience with my friends and Demetri. Before we left back for our houses after being dropped off by the bus, Demetri gave me his cell phone number so we could keep in touch. I smiled and hugged him goodbye, and hopped into my car as my dad rolled around the curb to pick me up. I couldn't wait to get home to text him. At this point, I wasn't sure if he was gay or not, or even if he liked me. He wasn't one of those obvious gay guys who you could tell by their movements or voices, which I kind of am at points. I liked him, maybe more than I should've, but I still did nothing to show him that I was gay or liked him, so I felt that we could be friends at least. Little did I know of the amazing summer that was to come: my first love, my first sexual experience, and my first heartbreak. Looking back I wouldn't do anything differently, except to appreciate the love that I had for him, my Demetri.
