After being summoned to be on the Council of the Gate's I thought 'that even once you're in Heaven, our Father continues to grant blessings.' There was no higher honor for Angels, I was not yet an Arch Angel, I was not that powerful, but being asked to join the Council was the step below such feats. I had never fought against the Hellions that tried to break through the Black gate, but now being on the council this was likely. Part of the duties of a council member was visiting church and trying to inspire good hope, and love. It was on one of my earliest Sessions, a pair of souls arrived that had fought their way through the Shadows of Life, and stood to defend their Love. A pair of boys, whom seemed to have had a happy life, but came before us in a fear that shouldn't be attached to love. I knew that and yet I was too afraid to voice my own opinions because I was the youngest and newest to the Council. Then 'He' showed up. Brother, Father, Teacher...he has many names and yet nothing fits him perfectly. He is simply, the way. However it was us that he was teaching in this moment, he came and over threw the verdict with nothing more than mild controversy. We were silenced in a swift wave of his hand and he even directly asked me why I had said nothing. I could say nothing. I watched as the boys left through the gates and watched as a bright light ascended from behind the gate, and another floated dreamily through the cloud like floor. I could say nothing as He turned back to us and just shook his head, and as we came down from our plinths, He came over and placed a hand on my shoulder, whispering words that I shall never forget. "The love you have seen here was pure, strong in the light that I am all about. If you wish, I have an assignment for you. I want you to inspire this love, go forth into the world of sin and show people where Love comes from. Will you do this for me?" I could only nod in his presence and left him through the Golden Gate letting myself fall to the earth, invisible to those of Sinful Nature. My first sight was a city, made up of both country and a more urban section. It was littered with various sections, schools, and other groups that I could begin to work with. I dove whole heartedly into a church, somewhere were my power was already easily manipulated. It was a quaint church made up of mostly older members, and I found them strangely boring. Then I 'met' a young boy, about fourteen, who was struggling to find his place in this world. Fighting in a war that he shouldn't even understand, he was already on the path to love. After careful watching I picked up his name was Michael, he had been with his youth group since birth and had never fully connected with any of them. Worse was that he didn't have a good relationship with his brother, which made his situation even harder. Talking to people helped them down here, and I needed help him find someone. This was my first mistake, I had not realized for whom his love was directed and arranged for it to be that person to present the opportunity for sharing. This made the situation harder, and even more tense. Taking the time again to observer both of their hearts, I found love spilling over both ways, and yet neither of them would talk about it. I thought I was close when I poked the older boy into sharing that he was already confidently gay. However it was fear that clouded Michael's heart then. He was shrouded in it, his heart had doubled in pace and he worked swiftly to lie, so that his golden opportunity was no longer causing him panic. I followed Caleb, the older one, home this time instead of Michael. I had decided that I wanted to find out his feelings and learn more about him. As I was spending time and learning, Caleb had received a call, but his phone was oozing darkness, that only I could see. It was Michael's brother, and he was asking to hang out...lying to him. There was another power working on this, like I was, but working against the love. I protected him from that, persuading his superiority, and his anger. Anger has its place every now and then, except there was a dark seed planted. Caleb now had paranoia that Michael had shared the secret with his brother. I didn't like this and I wanted it to work out, so I devised a plan. A friend of theirs, the youth director, surprised me and played right into it. I conveniently made sure most of the people were gone except for one who could distract the Youth Leader. The two boys led off in the same direction, although an unjust anger was flooding from out of Caleb, and Michael looked as if he could feel and see it the way I could. The outburst and the fight came next that sent me into fast working. I moved the clouds over head, and darkened them. Anger was best shown in the weather, I wanted them to get it out, and when provoked by excitement the anger would hopefully lead to bliss. How lucky I am, that it did. I had to look at the two of them as they kissed because in that moment, I felt warmth, a hand on my shoulder. Turning I saw Him, and he was smiling, and yet he was ethereal and not solid. He smiled at me and vanished in the rain, I knew than that this was the most power part of being an Angel, and I was doing it well enough to please him. Although Love in general pleases Him, and no matter the people involved, he blesses those who fall in love. That was one thing I believe in with all my heart, and power. With one gift of love left behind I moved back to the overview of the city, looking for the same sparks that I could fan into flames of passion. I found a young guy living alone, but expecting a roommate at a school. I went in for a closer look and found a dark haired boy with blue eyes sitting reading, before heading to class. He hastily stuffed the book in his bag and dashed off to class. I did not follow; I had no interest in seeing teachers again. I remember them foggily and still have a hearty dislike for people who lecture at you. So I waited and another young guy walked in and I thought I had found an easy path for the dark haired ember to be fanned. However as they met and became friends the embers sparked harder but would not flame. I found out soon why, the new one met another boy in a book store and his ember exploded in flames. Mean while the dark haired boy, Cameron I had learned, was being confronted by a brutish type human. He was cute and was raging with fire; I couldn't see much of the difference between his flaming anger and his embers of love, so I ignored him for the moment. Cameron, on the other hand, was brimming with a passion. I was surprised with the redness had not spilled over into this face. The new boy was becoming a problem, in the moment that I could have redirected his flaming anger; the new guy stood up to him and took his thoughts away from Cameron. Idiot...but he was defending his new friend so I could not hold too much against him. My two hopefuls met again, about a month later at a party. Cameron was leaving and the fiery boy followed him out, taunting him again. When Cameron turned around and began to talk him down from his random attacks they stared at each other for a moment. The fiery boy looked like he could either hit Cameron or kiss him depending on the flames. I urged a root out of the ground just high enough to where the boy stepped right into it and stumbled forward. They connected, lips meeting where they should and they kissed. I smiled, turning away and leaving this completed goal. I felt no hand this time but what I did see was the flames that were connecting all of the people that I had just been around, it was like watching a spider web branch out and touch everyone they passed and talked to. This was why I was sent here, because such true love spread infectiously and I was the one infecting them with the virus. If only there was enough passion in the world, but every time the angels help someone, there are demons breaking them apart. When petty things such as any of the Seven Deadly Sins arise it is up to the humans to overcome them and ignore the work of Lucifer. We can only do so much. I landed next to a young boy whose heart flickered with a nervous flame of hope. Another boy was crying in front of him but rose swiftly to hit him. He was an angry child but a compassionate person at the core. I could bring it out in him if only I could... I acted fast, swiftly wrapping my weightless arms around the smaller boy, giving him my courage to stand his ground. The boy did not swing and in that instant his own barrier of fear shattered, letting his compassion over fill him and flood out into the boy in my arms. I released him and then walked off in the direction of the smaller ones home. I did not need to do anything with these, they would find that their love was already purest for each other. It was when a flare caught my eye, a brilliant purple flare burst across the sky and I traced it back to its origin. I found a young college aged boy sitting at his desk. His glasses focused intently on the screen of his computer typing swiftly. The work on the computer was one of love and compassion, but his heart yearned for both. He knew how to write, knew how to do it but could not find it. His passion flared differently from everyone else I saw, it was erratic and touched everyone whether he knew them or not. He could not seem to find the type of love the reciprocated his, so he was in a constant search. I could do nothing, as I was summoned at that moment, but before I left I gently kissed his forehead, and saw him flinch and smile. Looking up he seemed to be staring straight at me, and blinked and dove back into his writing. Striking his letters swiftly I caught the last few as I vanished. S C R Y P T.
