Matt and Jon
When Alan and Jamie arrived at the church, there were still quite a few people there. Jamie dragged Alan all over the expansive lawn and introduced him excitedly to all of the gang that he could find. Alan took an instant liking to the parents. He loved that they all accepted Jamie as part of the crowd and made him feel welcome. He felt as though by extension, that he was welcome too.
The fair was winding down, and the kids were mostly doing cleanup duty. Jon was busy wiping down the spin art table when a breathless Jamie came running over to him with Alan in tow.
“Jon! I want you to meet my brother! This is Alan!"
Jon was blown away by the ecstatic look on Jamie’s face. He stuck his hand out and shook with Alan. He gestured to the table.
“Spin art anyone?” The brothers could see he was putting everything away and declined his offer with a chuckle.
Jamie spied Todd and Joel across the lawn. “Alan, I want you to meet Todd and Joel, c’mon.” He said excitedly as he tugged at Alan’s arm. When they’d reached the two, Jamie made the introductions.
“Alan, this is Todd. He’s the one who introduced me to everyone. This is his boyfriend Joel.” The boys blushed. They weren’t used to being introduced as a couple. They were probably no more embarrassed than a young straight couple would be at that stage in their relationship. Alan thought it was cute, but didn’t say so.
“I’d say you are both very lucky young men.” Alan said as he shook hands with the two. “Todd, I can’t thank you enough for what you did for us.”
Todd shrugged. “All I did was invite a cool kid I met to play video games, Mr. Mathers.”
Alan cringed. “Um Todd, I’m Jamie’s brother, not his father.”
This gave them all a laugh. “Sorry…Alan.” Todd spluttered.
Jamie and Alan pitched in with the rest of them to put away the folding chairs and tables and take down the various booths. Pastor Margaret directed the clean up. When they were finished, Alan invited her to join them for pizza.
She smiled wearily. “I think I’ll take a rain check. All I want to do right now is climb into a hot bubble bath.”
She thanked them for all their help and climbed in to her ancient station wagon and disappeared with a wave. They all found seats in the various vehicles. Jane and Tom had come separately so there were four cars.
After they were seated and had ordered enough pizza to feed a small army, they hit the salad bar, and came back to the table. Jamie showed the gang his new cell phone. They all traded numbers and Jamie excitedly snapped pictures of all of them while Alan sat at the head of the table, and filled the parents in on his story. He omitted some of the details, of course, but gave them a pretty good idea of what it had been like for him.
Bill, Ann, Shelley and Dan took turns filling him in on what they knew about Jamie’s situation, and how the boys had met him. Tom and Jane seemed like they weren’t all there. They kept looking at each other across the table, exchanging slight smiles with each other.
After the last crust had been demolished, Alan insisted on picking up the check. He said it was just a small way of thanking everyone for all that they had done. The others insisted that there was no need. Just seeing Jamie so happy was enough, but Alan wouldn’t hear of it, and eventually they graciously stopped protesting. When all of the kids had thanked Alan, the four cars dispersed and dropped off all of the kids at their various homes. It had been a long and tiring day. Tom invited Jane back to the Kent’s for a cup of coffee, and naturally Todd came to hang out with Jon, Ryan, and LittleTom while the grownups chatted.
Bill drove back to his house with Alan and Jamie. He left the motor running as he opened the door.
“Alan, why don’t you take Jamie home? When you bring the car back, I’ll run you to the station.”
“Thanks Bill.” Alan said, as he came around to the driver’s side.
Jamie got into the front seat and fastened his seat belt. “Okay, go right at the corner and take Maple all the way to Sedgewick, then head south.” He directed, as Alan backed the car out of the driveway.
“How far south?” Alan asked.
“Waaaaay south.” Jamie replied with an uneasy smile on his face.
Alan nodded as he put the car in drive. He vaguely remembered the layout of the town. He recalled that his mother had told him never to go to the neighborhood where they now apparently lived.
They pulled up in front of the liquor store that was on the ground floor of Jamie’s building. Alan put the car in park, and took Jamie in his arms.
“I hate to leave you here punk.” He said, as he hugged him to his chest.
Jamie squeezed back. “I’ll be alright. It’s not bad here, really. Alan…do you think I should tell mom I saw you?”
Alan thought about it. “I don’t know…how do you think she’ll react?”
“I think she’ll be happy. She never stopped loving you; she just couldn’t stand up to dad.”
“Yeah, I know she was upset when I left. I think about her all the time. Maybe I could see her sometime when dad isn’t around. Tell her I love her.” Alan said as a tear escaped his eye and landed on the top of Jamie’s head. He kissed the spot where it had fallen, and released Jamie from his arms. He watched until Jamie was safely inside, and reluctantly pulled into traffic.
Todd, Ryan and LittleTom were happily playing a video game in Jon’s room when Tom called up the stairs, asking Todd and his boys to join Jane and him in the den.
Jon grinned at the others. “That can only mean one thing guys.”
They exchanged high fives as the boys raced to the door and down the stairs. When they got to the den, they found Jane and Tom waiting on the couch.
When the boys were seated across from them, Tom cleared his throat.
“I guess it’s no secret that Jane and I have been getting closer. What would you say if I told you we are seriously considering making it official?”
The three of them came bounding across the room and hugged the two startled adults. When they had calmed down, Ryan gave his father a puzzled look.
“Dad, what do you mean by ‘seriously considering?’ Did you propose or not?”
“Well, we wanted to talk it over with you boys first. We hoped you’d be happy about it, but we wanted to make sure. We both agree that you are our first priorities. I can see by your reaction that we needn’t have worried.” Tom said with a gleam in his eye.
LittleTom looked at the two of them sitting on the couch next to each other. “Go ahead dad, pop the question.”
“Yeah, go ahead.” Todd chimed in.
Tom smiled. He took Jane’s hands in his and looked her in the eye. “Jane, I don’t have a ring, but…will you marry me?”
Jane looked at the anxious faces that surrounded her and smiled mischievously. “Yeah, what the heck.”
Tom laughed as he pulled her into an embrace. The boys let out a whoop and danced around the room.
LittleTom grabbed Todd. “We’re going to be brothers…for real.”
He turned to Jane and suddenly felt a pang of sadness sweep over him. Jane stood and embraced him.
“LittleTom, I know I’ll never replace your mother, but I’ll always be there for you, just like she would be if she could.”
LittleTom snorted and dried his tears. He looked up at her loving face. “Um…what should I call you?”
Jane smiled back at him. “Well, I guess Mrs. O’Reilly seems a little formal. You can call me Jane, or whatever you’re comfortable with.”
“Can I call you ‘mom?’”
“I’d be honored.” She replied sincerely.
Todd looked shyly at Tom, who simply nodded. After the two shared a hug, Todd looked up at Tom’s face.
“Will I have to change my name?”
He shook his head. “No Todd. You don’t have to.”
Todd thought for a minute. “How about Todd Austin-O’Reilly? I like it.”
Ryan and LittleTom shouted their approval and they all took turns hugging each other. Jon couldn’t wait any longer. He came down to join them when he heard the commotion. Shelley and Dan met him on the stairs.
Shelley took in the scene and was pretty certain she knew what had transpired. Jane came across the room.
“Since we’re going to be sisters-in-law, I’d say we have a wedding to plan.”
This set off a fresh round of congratulations and hugs. The two women excitedly began discussing details. Jane asked Jon if he’d sing at the wedding. He beamed back at her.
“I’d be happy to…Aunt Jane.”
Jon felt honored that this detail had been decided even before they picked a date. He couldn’t wait to tell Sam and Matt, but he thought he should let Ryan, Todd and LittleTom have the fun of sharing their news. Todd wasted no time text messaging Joel and Ryan called Eric.
LittleTom hugged Jane again. “Where do you want to go for your honeymoon?”
Jane laughed. “I haven’t really thought about it. I guess the first thing is to find a place where we all can live.”
Tom winked at her. “I have my eye on a few places near here. Maybe we can all go check them out next weekend.”
“I guess we’ll need a pretty big place. Four bedrooms at least.” Jane mused, looking around at her soon to be expanded family.
“I don’t mind sharing with my brothers.” Todd said, beaming around the room. “I’ve been an only child long enough.”
Ryan put his arm on Todd’s shoulder. “Watch what you say, Todd. LittleTom looks like a sweet innocent child, but just wait until he’s your little brother.” He said, dramatically rolling his eyes for effect.
LittleTom punched Ryan on the arm. “Hey, who says I’m innocent!”
Ryan laughed. “See what I mean?”
Even though they were all excited, they eventually said their goodbyes. They all walked Jane and Todd to their car, then went inside to call the rest of the gang and spread the word.
Jon, Ryan and LittleTom met up with Matt on the way to school the next morning. Matt congratulated them, and all the excitement of the previous night came flooding back. When they arrived at school, the scene was repeated with each of their friends.
By lunch time, the whole gang had heard the news, and they all speculated about what life would be like for the newly forged family. Todd was excited about looking at houses over the weekend. He noticed that Joel was unusually quiet throughout lunch, and made a mental note to ask him if anything was bothering him later.
As they were walking to class, Todd pulled Joel aside. “Joel, is anything bothering you? You’ve been really quiet today.”
Joel gave him a weak smile. “I’m okay.”
Todd regarded him skeptically. “There must be something bothering you.”
Joel shrugged and studied the floor. “Well, I’m really happy for you and all, it’s just that…never mind, it’s nothing.”
Todd wasn’t going to let his boyfriend off the hook so easily. “Come on Joel. I know something’s bothering you, out with it.”
“Okay. I guess I can’t keep anything from you.” Joel began with a lopsided grin. “You’re going to think I’m really selfish, but…I’m just afraid that what with moving in with them, you won’t have time for me anymore. You guys will be family, and I’ll kind of be an outsider. Jonny’s going to be you’re cousin and Ryan and LittleTom your brothers. It’s going to change everything.”
Todd shook his head. “Nothing will change between us, I promise. Sure, I love all of them, but not in the same way I love you. You’re a part of me, Joel. It’s not like I could get bored with you and drift away.”
“Maybe I’m just getting worked up over nothing. I should be happy for you and instead, I’m just thinking of myself. I’m sorry Todd. Sometimes I just feel insecure. I can’t explain it.”
“Joel, I love you, and I want to be with you.” He looked up and down the empty hallway, and risked a quick kiss. Even though they didn’t really have to hide anymore, they didn’t want to draw negative attention to themselves.
“My mom works until seven tonight. I was hoping you could come home with me. We haven’t been alone in awhile, just the two of us.”
Joel smiled. “I’d like that.”
He returned Todd’s kiss, and they reluctantly parted for their classes. When the dismissal bell finally rang that afternoon, they met up on the front steps. Matt came over and invited them to go to the sweet shop with them.
“Um, thanks Matt, but Joel and I have some, uh, studying to do.”
Matt gave them an odd look and started to open his mouth when Jon touched his arm.
“Matt, if they’re busy we can see them another time. Come on, before all the tables are taken. You know I hate the counter.”
As they walked their separate ways, Jon and Todd turned back and briefly caught each other’s eye. Jon gave a sly wink as Todd smiled gratefully, blushing at the same time. Jon laughed to think that the same kid who would whip out his cock in the practice room the day before would be bashful now.
“What’s so funny?” Matt asked.
“Oh nothing. I’ll tell you later.” Jon replied, as they walked companionably to the sweet shop, arm in arm.
Todd was so excited that he could barely get the key in the lock on the apartment door. Once they were inside, he pulled Joel to him and smothered him with kisses. He didn’t want Joel to have the least doubt in his mind that his changing family situation wasn’t going to affect what they had together.
Todd closed the door and took Joel by the arm and led him to his bedroom. He wrapped his arms around him and kissed him deeply on the mouth. They practically fell onto Todd’s bed without breaking the kiss. After a few minutes of tongue jousting, Todd put his hand on Joel’s chest and gently pushed him back.
“Joel, I’ve been thinking…”
“Yeah?” Joel responded as he caught his breath.
“I know we said we were going to take it slow, but we’ve been going together for awhile now…”
Todd reached his hand tentatively to Joel’s crotch and began gently rubbing the outline of his hardness through his pants. Joel had never felt anything so incredible in his young life.
“Joel, do you think this is okay?”
“Yeaaaah.” Joel moaned.
Todd was amused by the fact that his normally articulate boyfriend hadn’t uttered another syllable since they had gotten to the apartment. He took Joel’s hand and pressed it to his own crotch. Joel’s fingers instinctively responded by gently squeezing his boyfriend lovingly. Todd wasn’t prepared for the sensations coursing through his body, and he practically fell into Joel’s arms. They kissed for a while, keeping up their increasingly desperate massaging, until Joel couldn’t take it any longer.
“Stop, stop!” He cried, almost in a panic.
They broke the embrace and fell back on the bed. After he’d regained his composure, Todd straddled Joel’s body and started undoing his belt buckle.
“Is this okay?”
Todd giggled as he unfastened the belt and unzipped Joel’s jeans and slid them down. He took off his shoes and socks and pulled the jeans off of him. He lay down next to him on the bed and let his hand wander under the waistband of Joel’s boxers, running his fingers through his coarse bush. Meanwhile, Joel was manipulating Todd’s belt and zipper.
“Ummm, Joel, as much fun as it is to undress you, it might be easier if we finish this ourselves.”
Joel gave a nervous laugh. “Yeah.”
Joel was unbuttoning his shirt as he got to his feet. He pulled it off and tossed it on the floor and pulled his undershirt off over his head, leaving him in just his boxers while Todd hopped around on first one foot, than the other, losing his sneakers and socks. When he’d caught up to Joel, they stood facing each other in just their underpants.
Joel gazed lovingly at Todd. “Are we ready for this?”
It was Todd’s turn to answer, “Yeah.”
Both of their hands went to the waistbands of their last remaining garments. They slid them down at the same time, almost bumping heads as they stepped out of them. They stood back up and gazed at each other for a moment.
Todd broke the silence. “I figured you had a big one from what I could see in your pants, but…wow!”
Joel laughed. “Yeah, I guess that’s one good thing I inherited from dad.”
He shuddered when Todd reached out and took it in his hand. “I guess I should thank him.”
Joel giggled. “Don’t you dare!” as he reached for Todd’s equipment.
Todd shuddered when Joel’s hand made contact with his penis. He smiled at his boyfriend who was now becoming his lover.
“I hope you’re not disappointed. It’s no where near as big as yours.”
“Disappointed? Todd, it’s perfect. It’s just right for the rest of your body. Mine is the one that’s unusual, yours is…well…perfect!”
Todd giggled. “Jon predicted you’d say that when I showed it to him. He said I’m about the same size as Matt.”
Joel looked hurt. “You mean Jon saw it before me? He’s not even in your gym class.”
Todd gave Joel’s cock a stroke or two. “Calm down honey. I was feeling insecure. I didn’t know what you’d think. I just wanted his opinion. We didn’t do anything.”
Joel realized that it was impossible to be angry at someone who is stroking your cock. Especially if you love that person as much as he loved Todd.
Joel smiled. “Well, in that case, Jon is a gentleman and a scholar, and an excellent judge of…guy flesh.”
By silent mutual agreement, they moved to the bed and lay down facing each other. Joel gathered Todd in his arms and kissed him passionately while their hands explored each other’s bodies. Eventually, they built up a steady rhythm, rubbing their crotches together. The feeling of the bare skin contact felt amazing to them. Todd buried his head in Joel’s neck, licking and kissing him there while Joel grabbed onto Todd’s ass, pulling them closer with each stroke. As much as they wanted it to last, they knew it was inevitable, and gave in to their bodies demands for release. Todd came first, his orgasm flooding out between them. When he finished, he reached down and lubed Joel with his own ejaculate and brought his to a shattering climax in four strokes.
They both collapsed on the bed and savored the aroma of boy sex in the room while they caught their breath.
“Todd, I never knew it could feel so good. I love you so much baby.”
“I love you too Joel. More than I can say. I’ve never felt that good in my life.” He said with feeling, as he leaned over and kissed Joel on the nose.
They lounged around naked, just basking in the afterglow for awhile. Todd retrieved his discarded briefs and cleaned them up and they took a short nap in each other’s arms. When they woke up, Todd glanced at the clock by his bed. He propped himself up on one elbow and smiled at Joel.
“It’s still early. We could catch up with the gang if you want. They’re probably over at Matt’s doing homework.”
“Or…” Joel responded with a wicked grin on his face, “we could stay right here.”
Todd arched his eyebrows. “Oh? What did you have in mind, kind sir?”
“This.” Joel exclaimed as he slid down Todd’s body and engulfed his growing dick in his mouth.
Todd was shocked and delighted at the oral attention. His body spasmed under Joel’s oral ministrations, feeling his tongue slither around his now hard shaft. It didn’t take long for Todd to reach his second climax of the day.
“Oh God. Coming.” He panted to warn Joel.
Joel only began sucking harder. He had no intention of wasting his reward. Todd didn’t disappoint him. Spurt after spurt of his love nectar flooded Joel’s waiting mouth. He swallowed only when he had to, wanting to savor every bit of it. When Todd finally finished, Joel lovingly licked him clean.
Todd insisted that they change places and found himself face to face with Joel’s huge hard on. It certainly was a daunting sight, but he was determined. He opened his mouth as wide as it would go, and took the head in, licking and tonguing the slit at the top.
Joel caressed his cheek. “Just because I swallowed you, don’t feel you have to if you don’t want to, baby.”
Todd grinned around the big organ. “I’ve wanted this for a long time.”
Joel giggled at the sound of Todd trying to talk with his mouth full of cock. “Hey, it’s not polite to talk with your mouth full.” He teased.
Todd sealed his lips around the big organ and sunk as much of it as he could into his mouth. He grasped the base of it with one hand, while the other found its way to Joel’s balls. After a little experimentation, he developed a steady rhythm using his hands and his mouth. Todd couldn’t hear Joel cry out as he filled his mouth with his fluid. He barely managed to keep up with the volume of tangy cream that Joel fired into him. He repeated the tongue bath that Joel had given him, and after a long and loving kiss, they reluctantly got dressed.
They spread their homework out on the kitchen table and tried to concentrate. Every now and then a knee would rub a thigh, or a stray foot would touch another. Smiles were exchanged, hands touched.
Todd put down his pencil and looked at Joel. “Do you think this is what it’s like to be married? You know…just being together like this? Even homework is fun with you here.”
Joel smiled warmly. “I was just thinking the same thing. I can look forward to almost anything as long as I know I’ll be seeing you. The only bad part is that I have to go home soon. I hate leaving you. I wish this was our apartment, just you and me. Reality sucks.”
Todd laughed. “I know. That would be so cool, but I can wait for as long as it takes for that to happen.”
They packed up their books and Todd walked Joel to the door. “Joel, would you come with us this weekend when we look at houses? Mom and…dad…have the final say of course, but if I know them, I’m sure we’ll have some input. I’d really love it if you would help me decide what my vote should be. After all, you’re going to be spending a lot of time there.”
A tear formed in Joel’s eye as he drew Todd into a hug. Todd felt the tear trickle down his neck and he knew that he had finally succeeded in assuring his boyfriend that he was a part of all of the changes in his life.
Hello, and happy new year to all. I've finally gotten down to finishing this chapter after a hectic but fun holiday season. I hope you all had a joyous and fun filled time as well.
Thanks so much to all who have written. It's always great to hear from you. Your friendships mean a lot to me. Lol, one reader wrote to point out that I refered to the boy's houses as ranch style houses, then I have them running up and down the stairs. Oh well, no one's perfect...least of all me! I apologize for any hinderance to the imagination that this might have caused. Please substitute Neo-colonial for the word "ranch" in the first chapter.
I'd like to thank you all by name, but it's been so long that I'd be afraid of leaving someone out. You all know who you are and how special you are to me.
A special note to those who find this time of year difficult because of losses or general lonliness. I know it can be rough, and I just want to say that my heart goes out to you especially at this time. I get little twinges of "holiday depression" sometimes, just wishing I had that special someone to share it all with, but in the end, the joy and love of the season usually comes through for me, as I hope and pray that it does for all of you.
WISHING YOU ALL A HAPPY, HEALTHY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR!
All the best, Jon
