RECAP- At the opening of the last chapter we find out that Teddy seems to
be missing, even though his parents don't care ... Dan has met Ky's parents
and learnt to be diplomatic about Ky's mother's cooking ... Alex outs
himself to try to win Ky back, only for Ky to tell him that he is in love
with Dan and they both finally find closure ... Teddy comes to chained up
in a dungeon with Calvin and we see a flashback of the events that led to
their capture ... Aaron goes to the dungeon and frees them, but at the same
time we see the emotional pain that he is in and that his memories are
gradually coming back ... As Teddy and Calvin flee they are trapped in the
main office, The Master's office, by the guards and eventually escape on
a boat only to find that they were further away from home than they thought.
The last thing we hear is Teddy on Calvin's phone telling Ky about Aaron.

being held and brainwashed by a guy named Tanner. As much as I hated
recognizing it, we needed help. Dragging my feet I made it to Alex's house.
I knocked and he opened the door. As soon as he saw me he sneered.

"You come to steal something else I love?" He asked with a grin.

"No... I'm here because I need your help... Kyle is in danger" and just like
that the grin vanished and he stepped out of the way letting me in. I
informed him of the situation; he listened quietly until he stood up.

"We are taking my boat. Calvin knows the coordinates so we can reach the
place. Come to my room we are going to get weapons and change into suits"
He said as I followed, he opened the door to his room and removed a panel
on the wall, the wall opened and we walked inside. We changed into suits
and loaded ourselves with gadgets and weapons.

After we arrived at the dock and into Alex's ship I felt something cold
running down my body, something that made worry about Kyle at that exact
moment.


[Kyle's POV]

We had penetrated the fortress successfully and were located in some type of
basement. Kevin, mom, dad and me walked up the stairs carefully and silently.

"They'll find us out as soon as we infiltrate above so we have to do this as
fast as we can" Dad said as he opened the door at the top of the stairs. We
walked into the bright white hallways. The place was utterly huge.

"That's the main entrance you are in you have to go 10 levels up to reach
where Tanner's main office is. Aaron must be in the dungeons at level 7"
Teddy said through the earpiece.

"We'll go for Tanner, you go get Aaron" mom said pointing at Kevin and me.

"Mom... You don't know how dangerous he can be... Let us go" I said as Kevin
nodded.

"Baby, I know this is dangerous and I've lived without a single regret... So
has your dad, we know what life is about, but you don't. If something were to
happen to you I would never forgive myself. So go get your brother and then
come find us." She said as both she and dad ran down the hall.

"Let's go get Aaron" I said smiling faintly at Kevin. We rushed forward into
the staircase, but as we ran the intruder alarm started blaring loudly above
filling the whole room with a red light. We barely made it to the stairs when
we saw a huge amount of guards rushing towards us.

"Lock it!" Kevin screamed as we closed the doors and locked them tight. I
took one of the small melting guns and melted the door so it stuck into the
frame. I turned it off and ran upstairs with Kevin.

"We have to be quick Kev, there's a door per level so we can get ambushed any
time" I said as we reached the second level. Kevin dug in his pocket and took
out a small bomb and placed it in front of the door. We kept running and as
soon as the door opened with guards coming in it exploded lifting up a grey
smoke that made them all collapse we just kept running not looking back. We
passed the third floor and fourth and fifth. We came to the sixth and the
stairs ended.

"How are we supposed to go to the seventh" Kevin asked looking around, there
was nothing above.

"I don't know but staying here won't help" I said opening the door, waiting
outside was a flood of about 40 guards all armed.

"Let's kick some ass amigo" He said as he pulled out two guns. I took out my
chain with the knife and we both ducked as they started shooting. We rolled
to opposites sides. He started shooting from the floor and I slashed across
the guy's feet making them collapse. When they aimed at us on the floor we
both jumped up. I smashed one of the shooters faces with my foot as Kevin
shot the gun right out of his hand. We had like half the guys left.

"Left" Kevin said as I ducked and he shot the guy coming at my left. I
grabbed my chain and slashed across 3 guards in front of me. I grabbed the
other end of my chain which had the metal ball and used it to wrap around a
guys neck and pulled him close, aiming my knee to his gut as he collapsed.

"Under you" I screamed at Kevin as he saw a small bomb roll to his feet. He
kicked it as it shinned with a red light. The ball fell between the mass of
guys and it exploded. We backed out and curled into the floor placing our
hands over our ears. As the smoke lifted we took deep breaths.

"That could've been nasty" Kevin said as he smiled at me. As soon as he
finished his sentence he collapsed to his knees.

"KEV!" I screamed and knelt down with him. He had a bullet wound on his side.

"Shit... They got me" He groaned holding his side. I looked at his wound, he
was bleeding.

"The bullet got through... Can you feel this" I said pressing my finger
around the wound.

"Yeah" He said groaning.

"It didn't touch a nerve then. We have to do som...... Wait" I said and
fished out a little flask from one of my pockets. I opened it and poured it
all over the wound, it started to close slowly until it looked like a nasty
stab at least.

"Better" He said standing up and holding his side.

"We have to get you some help" I said as he chuckled.

"I knew what I got myself into Kyle. I'm not running away" He said looking
forward with a determined look on his face. He started walking like a brave
warrior. I touched the earpiece.

"Kevin is shot, I gave him some of the healing vial, but it only closed the
wound a little. We need something... Get it to us and don't tell Teddy he
would freak" I said through the earpiece.

"Roger boss... I'm heading up" Li said as I smiled.

"Boss? Has a nice ring to it" I said catching up to Kevin. We ran through
the hallway looking for a way to go upwards one more level. I clicked my
earpiece once more to switch to Teddy.

"We are stuck in level 6 how do we go up" I asked.

"Let me see... Li is on her way by the way" He said.

"Yeah we need someone to hack something here and you are better at base than
she is" I said.

"Well... There's one door down the hall to your right. You have to get there
and into the staircase".

"Check" I said as we ran down the hall, we ran as fast as we could to get
there. Kevin was in pain though making this strong guy's face which made
me wanna slap him for trying so hard, but it was his call. As soon as I
kicked down the locked door we came to notice that the staircase was
destroyed halfway.

"We have to jump to continue upstairs" Kevin said walking back to take a run.

"You are in no shape to jump Kevin" I said as he did. He barely made it and
as soon as he landed he screamed in pain. I followed and grabbed his arm and
slung it around my shoulder.

"Damn... I don't wanna burden you Kyle, leave me here I'll wait until this
calms down" He said.

"It's a bullet wound it won't calm down, and I'm not leaving you at the mercy
of some nasty guards. Besides Li is on her way here with stuff for your
wound" I said as he sighed.

"I told you I could bear the pain" He said.

"I know, but I don't want you to" I said as he smiled. We kept walking
upstairs and opened the door. Thank God there were none guards waiting at
the other side ready to kill us.

As soon as we made it into the 7th floor we made our way to the door in front
of us. It was the biggest and creepiest door so it must have been the one to
the dungeon. I opened it and we were surrounded by many dark cells.

"Aaron?" I asked out loud as Kevin rested against the wall.

"He is not here" I heard a voice coming through a cell. I walked to it and
saw the scientist that escaped in one of my first missions.

"Where is he?" I asked panicked.

"He is in the lab, one floor above. You're his brother right? Same beautiful
eyes" He said smiling at me.

"Y-y-yeah, I came to get him back" I said determined.

"He, he won't let you. Tanner is using him, they extract blood from him to
isolate the genome that made him able to bear the gamma rays, and he then
injects it into many other prisoners... He wants an army of people like you,
people with boundless powers and abilities. He even experiments on himself.
Aaron is his golden goose he won't ever set him free... Believe me there is
more than one reason he won't set him free" He chuckled.

"What's that?" I asked confused.

"Huh... Love is a funny thing isn't it. I first saw it that day when the
prisoners escaped. Aaron helped them. I found out, but the way he stared at
the picture of you on his phone. That look of love made me take the blame
for him, saying that I helped the prisoners escape. You could say Tanner gives
Aaron that look every time he sees him although his love is far beyond
brotherly." He said as he coughed.

"Are you ok?" I asked kneeling down; he was lying near the cell door.

"No. I'm dying. Mr T. made a terrible poison that can kill within hours. He is
the only one able to produce the antidote. I got my dosage a couple hours ago
so I don't have much time but... Just make sure that before you leave... If
you are successful take this..." He said and handed me a device with a button.

"What is this?" I asked confused.

"A detonator... Throughout years, I watched Tanner become the monster he is...
So I have slowly and in the shadow planted as many bombs as I could all
around the castle. Promise me you'll hear my death wish. Promise me you'll
bring this place down before you leave." He coughed again, "Promise me
you'll burry me along with his sins," He begged, as I shoved it in my pocket.

"I will as long as I get the prisoners out and my brother. I will" I said
standing up. He coughed and chuckled once more.

"Things aren't that simple. In war there is always death" He said as he
coughed once more and stopped.

"Not this war" I replied with confidence to the dead body lying in front of
me. "Let's go" I said to Kevin as he nodded.

"It's getting worse" He said as he clutched his wound.

"You shouldn't have jumped that must've worsened everything" I said as
inspected his wound; it was bleeding more and more by each passing second.
He dropped against the wall and slid down.

"Go to Aaron" He whimpered holding his wound.

"Like hell I'm leaving you here alone" I said and as if sent by God Li walked
in breathing hard with a couple wounds and scratches meaning she got into a
pretty ugly fight.

"Is he okay?" She asked rushing.

"Nope... You take care of him, I have to keep going" I said rushing out of
the dungeons. I looked around and went down the hallway in a hurry feeling
the need to find Aaron as soon as possible. I came into a pair of huge doors.
There was something really eerie about it all. I opened them slowly; this
room and the dungeon were the only ones that seemed to be like a castle to
me. There where columns along the sides leading to a huge throne at the far
end of the room.

"Pathetic" I heard a voice say near me. I looked to the sides and out of a
column Tanner appeared he had a very evil smirk in his face.

"Why are you here?" I asked looking right at him.

"Let's just say your parents are already well taken care of. A shame actually
both screamed your name as I killed them." He said as he licked his lips. "I
bet your blood is even lovelier." He repeated taking a step towards me. I
felt a tugging in my chest as he spoke. He couldn't have killed my parents...
They wouldn't leave me... I know they wouldn't.

"You didn't" I said with conviction.

"No... Aaron did." He said as his smile grew even wider.

"You sick fuck!" I screamed as I rushed to him, I aimed a punch right to his
gut. He moved aside and slammed his elbow on my back. I crashed against the
hard floor groaning in pain.

"Pathetic!" He smiled as he turned me on my back with his leg and kicked my
stomach. I groaned and twisted in pain on the floor as he knelt down and
grabbed my chin.

"Fuck you" I groaned as I tried to spit at him. He slapped me hard across
the face and our eyes met. His eyes looked decided, but behind them there
was pain.

"Such a beautiful face" He said as he pressed his lips against mine. "I want
to see it destroyed" He whispered as he moved his lips away from mine, he
aimed a fist at my face and before he slammed it in to me everything stopped.
I felt my pupils expand and my body shiver wildly. His fist moved slowly so
it was easy to evade. The power of the chemicals had kicked in. I felt my
body move so lightly as I kicked him on his side. He collapsed on the floor.
He looked up at me with a smile; his eyes were starting to turn green.

"You are not the only one" He smiled as his movements became faster. We
we're both activated. I could feel my body as light as his. He ran to me at
amazing speed and kicked my across the face. I felt the most horrible pain
expand around my jaw. As he was about to retract his foot I grabbed it and
held tight. I lifted him and slammed him against one of the columns in the
room. As soon as he crashed the column shattered, a cloud of dust elevated
as he stood up slowly, blood was running down his lip.

"Pathetic" I smiled at him. He chuckled.

"You've seen nothing yet" He said as he rushed to me, I took out my knives
and threw them at him, but he was gone. I looked up as he came down to me
and aimed a rolling kick to my shoulder which made me drop to my knees with
a hard thud. I couldn't move as he had dislocated my shoulder which was
making me scream in sheer agony. He aimed a couple of kicks along my body
until I was lying down barely able to catch my breath. I felt blood
trickling down my mouth. He knelt right beside me and licked it off making
me tingle with disgust.

"Stop it you monster" I groaned in pain.

"Mmm... Tasty and you're calling me a monster... Why am I a monster?" He
asked as he lifted me up by my face. He slammed me against the huge column.
Before I knew it the chains of my knives were tying me around the column.
"Why am I a monster?" He asked.

"You kill people left and right and ruin lives! You experiment with people
and hurt whole families! You get pleasure when you see others in pain. That
makes you a monster" I spat as he chuckled.

"You kill as well don't forget." He shot back smiling.

"I kill evil people" I shot back.

"Evil, evil to whom? The government, someone with power... Have you ever
thought that maybe you killed someone who had a family waiting back at home
for them? A wife silently praying for her husband whose blood is dripping
from your hands. A little girl who is waiting for her daddy to come into her
room and read her a book and kiss her on the forehead before she goes to
sleep. Or maybe you even took the life of someone's brother, a brother they
loved more than life itself... You know a brother that gave sense to that
person's life. Have you ever thought about that? You are as big of a monster
as I am" He said as his eyes looked at me with superiority. I felt it sink
into me, his words. Was he right? People doing bad things to the wrong
powerful people deserved to die? What if they really had someone that cared
and waited on them while I stood over their bodies?

"Speechless?" He said taking a couple steps back. "Let me have mercy...
Well not that much mercy" He said pulling out a crystal gun out of his belt.
He aimed it at me. "This poison will torture you for hours destroying your
flesh inside out and killing you in the most excruciatingly painful way". He
aimed and pressed against the trigger. In that moment I looked back on my
life and how wrong it was taking a person's life as a job. How many mistakes
I made and I didn't want to die. Not without making it right, but my body was
bound and I was unable to move in any way.

"You are never going to be loved... Not by your father or my brother" I spat
venomously. "He already loves someone else and you know it" I taunted. His
eyes showed sadness and infinite hatred. "You motherless bastard" I spat
finally as he screamed and pressed the trigger. I closed my eyes.

"KYLE!!" I head a scream and then a thud. I opened my eyes slowly and saw Dan
at the door, with the bullet through his chest. Tanner had shot at him instead
of me.

"Dan what did you just do?!" I screamed as soon as I was free.

"I'm okay" He said nonchalant.

"If you kill me Dan dies" I heard behind. Alex was looking furious as he
aimed at Tanner's head.

"What is he talking about?" Dan asked freaking out.

"Only I have the antidote to that poison I shot at you. You are to die in
an hour amigo" He chuckled. Alex looked wide eyed and pulled his gun back.
I walked to Tanner and slammed my foot on his gut.

"Where is the fucking antidote?" I screamed as he chuckled.

"I'm not telling" He smiled as he swiftly did a backflip and stood up. He
rushed to the throne in the back of the room and sat down. He looked beaten
up as I was, but he still smiled. The doors to his side opened and many men
dressed in our same attires walked in. Alex prepared to fight as I rushed to
Dan.

"Baby... Sit down; I'm going to save you okay?" I whispered as he sat down
and nodded absentmindedly.

"I-I don't mind if I die as long as you are okay. I don't mind" He said as he
kissed me. I held back my breath.

"I'm not letting you die okay. You are not dying on me" I said as he chuckled
and started coughing... Bad sign like the scientist in the dungeon.

"Kyle... what's going on?" I heard behind me. There at the entrance I could
see my mom, dad, Li and Kevin standing looking at Tanner and the men
surrounding him.

"We are getting rid of him... That's going on" I said looking at the men
surrounding him. I felt relieved my parents were alive, but my only thought
now was saving Dan and like that the battle unleashed, our small team against
at least 50 men. I could see Li rushing and kicking the daylights out of
people. Kevin was fighting at his prime with unbelievable accuracy. My mom
and dad worked as a team back to back taking down enemy's one by one. I used
my chain knifes to slash my way around the men surrounding us. Evading
bullets and dodging hits the best I could.

"Ahhhh..." I heard Li scream as she was slammed against a wall by a huge guy.
I threw a chain to his foot and it wrapped. I pulled and he dropped down. Li
finished him with a hard knee kick to the back of the neck.

"Don't let them get too close" I said as I kept knocking down guys, she nodded
her head and kept going. The fight was getting wilder and wilder by each second
and Tanner was there smiling as we fought the guards that he sent to us. Near
the end the only people that were standing among the mountain of bodies was me
and Alex. My parents were lying next to each other breathing heavily. Li and
Kevin were trying to calm down Dan as he screeched in pain.

"You're done" I said walking to him. My body was battered and in pain with
each step, but I was determined. He smiled as he pulled out a gun, a
different one this time. He aimed directly at me. Then I felt it. My feet
where grabbed. I looked down at the floor, at least 4 guys where holding me
down nailed to the spot.

"You are the one who is done. This one will kill you in an instant. You know
what the ironic part is. Aaron is just in the room behind me about to die
because he wouldn't forget. Forget him, forget you. So near to save him and
yet about to die" He smiled. My body was too spent to realize that it was
probably my time to die. Dan's effort to save me had gone to waste and the
blood curling screams he cursed where making my heart hurt feeling useless.
I felt dizzy and my mind was going blank.

"You are dead you know" I said.

"I know I am, but that is the choice I'll make myself." He said pulling out
the detonator the scientist gave me. He chuckled as he looked at me.

"When did you?" I asked as he placed it on his lap.

"When I tied you up of course, do you really think I'm that stupid? I knew
the moment you all came here I was done for, but I'm not running away. I'm
taking every single one of you to hell with me." He said as he aimed, "but
you're going there first" and as he shot I closed my eyes and opened them
to notice that a body came in front of me taking the hit, my heart stopped
when Alex's body lay at my feet. Tanner looked at him in shock. He tried
to shoot again, but nothing came out. He looked at me in fear as he rushed
out of the room to the back.

"Y-you ok?" I heard Alex whimper below me. My eyes went to his at the instant
he spoke. I knelt beside him.

"Alex what did you do?" I asked grabbing his hand as he smiled at me weakly.

"I kept my promise didn't I...? Y-you said I'd never give my life for you.
That I didn't have the balls when the time came." He said as he touched my
face. I felt fresh warm tears trickled down my eyes.

"But you didn't have to do this..." I said as he held my hand tighter, his
eyes dropped a few tears to the sides.

"You're wrong... I did" He said as his eyes started to close.

"N-n-noo you are not dying... Look at me" I said shaking his head, he stared
into my eyes and smiled faintly.

"I love you, I'll always love you and I'm sorry for all I put you through.
I was too much of a coward to realize that you are the best thing I ever
had in my life" He whispered hoarsely.

"You can't die... I don't, I still need you" I said burying my face sobbing
into his chest. "Please don't go... I still need you please" I begged as his
breathing started to gently become slower.

"You have Dan I know he would've jumped if he had the chance" He whispered.

"But you can't go Alex. I love you. I know my heart always holds you I have
to many memories of you please stay" I begged as he smiled.

"I know you love me, just not the way I wish... So I want you to be happy,
Dan is a great guy, he will take care of you the way I should've" He said
slowly.

"You're an idiot" I sobbed as he chuckled.

"I'm your idiot... Right?" He spoke slightly more distant.

"Yeah... You're my idiot" I took his face into my hands and pressed my lips
against his as he pressed back. "My beautiful idiot" I said once more as I
looked straight into his eyes.

"Thank you for everything" He said as he closed his eyes.

"You're welcome" I sobbed with my head resting in his chest, his once soft
breathing had become nonexistent. My heart was hurting for him in a way I
never thought it would and a deep rage inside me had been awakened. I felt
a thirst for blood that needed to be quenched by the blood of the man who
killed Alex. I stood up not caring about the pain in my body not even
registering it.

"I'm not letting you die. I'm not losing you to" I said to Dan as he looked
at me with sad eyes. I walked to the door behind the throne. I was surprised
to see an immense lab, filled with computers. Plain white floor and ceiling,
the lighting was bright white and perfect. I walked inside and was dumbstruck
with what my eyes witnessed upon entering. There was huge cylindrical crystal
containers with fully grown humans inside connected to tubes. Where these
prisoners he had been testing on. I looked around and saw a door at the far
end, must be the main room. I walked inside it was unlocked.

"Give me the antidote and I spare you" I said once inside. Tanner looked up;
he had been sitting behind the desk in the room.

"It's sad you know... How he gave his life not knowing that you would still
die. Regardless of what he did" He spoke quietly and distant. That's when
I noticed the detonation button right in front of him.

"I'm not letting you take one more life of those who are important to me!"
I screamed as he looked up and met my eyes. He had been crying.

"Aaron would've never taken a bullet for me what makes you so fucking
special?!" He screamed as he stood up suddenly and slammed his fists into
the desk.

"Where is Aaron?" I asked as he looked at the button with glassy eyes.

"In one of the vases" He said as his finger pressed the button. "You're not
going to make it" He said as we heard an explosion on the floor above. SHIT!

"YOU IDIOT..." I screamed as I ran out of the room, just as a huge piece of
the floor below fell on top of him, he had the most twisted and sick smile
as I left. I opened the door and rushed in. I went to the controls and
pressed the huge red button. All the vases in the room opened wide spilling
the bluish liquids where the bodies where floating. Many bodies collapsed
into the floor. I wanted to help everyone but as tight as time was I had to
rush. I searched for Aaron between the bodies. There I saw him lying down in
a type of hospital gown completely wet.

"Aaron" I said kneeling down and shaking him slightly.

"K-Kyle?" He asked as he smiled up at me.

"Aaron" I repeated as I hugged him tightly to me. "We have to hurry the place
is coming down" I said as the roof above us cracked.

"Go hurry" He coughed loudly.

"No-no I'm not leaving you again" I picked him up with unknown strength and
ran out of the room. Everyone was standing.

"Take Aaron now...!" I screamed as Kevin rushed to me and took him out of
my arms.

"Let's hurry" My dad said as they got ready to escape.

"I have to get the antidote" I said not waiting for an answer. "Go!" I
screamed as everyone stared at me for a second.

"Hurry honey" My mom said trying to hide her teary face as she turned around.

"I'll be ok" I said running into the room. I walked back to the lab and saw
Tanner standing between the bodies looking down he was looking directly at me.

"He will die" He said as he sat down, his eyes looked crazy as he stared at
the mess at his feet.

"I'm not letting you kill him" I said rushing to him, I punched him down and
straddled him.

"You will die if you don't go now... I doubt even your family will make it"
He said as he lay there, his eyes looked dead as if he had already embraced
his upcoming death. I wanted to kill him, I wanted to avenge Alex so bad but
the door burst open. Dan was looking at me he seemed in pain.

"G-go!" He said as he pressed his back against the wall breathing hard.

"I'm not letting you DIE" I screamed at him as he walked to me swiftly and
lifted me up and hugged me tight.

"GO!" He screamed, I pressed my face into his chest.

"Please I don't want you to die, I lost Alex today please don't leave me
too" I begged.

"If you die with me, I will never forgive you" Dan said, as soon as he
finished the sentence he groaned in pain. Tanner had shot him again on the
side with a crystal bullet with a needle. I turned to him and grabbed his
shirt.

"That's the antidote! You better run." He laughed as the floor above us
collapsed; the huge pieces of stone fell on the back of the room. Dan
pulled the bullet out.

"I-I feel better" He said touching the wound. I dropped Tanner on the floor.
He kept laughing manically as we rushed out of the room; I looked back to
Tanner... I felt sorry for him. I was about to walk to him when a huge stone
from the roof fell on him. I closed my eyes as Dan grabbed my hand and we
rushed away from the devastation. We went to the room with the columns and
started rushing through it. We blasted past Alex's body. Dan kept dragging
me.

"I'm not leaving Alex here!" I screamed trying to go back.

"IT'S TOO LATE! IF YOU DIE HIS EFFORT WILL BE MEANINGLESS... I'M NOT LOSING
YOU TOO!" He said as the room started to collapse. I closed my eyes and
nodded as we kept running, walking out of the room. I felt a pain in my heart
as I realized all I had lost in matter of hours. As the floor above us
collapsed, I could see Dan's lips moving, but I couldn't hear. My mind was
filled with Alex. All the moments we shared; every kiss, every smile, every
I love you. Every, I love you.

Before I realized we were out of the fortress. I looked back as it was
totally collapsed. At that moment I saw a man in a gown rush out of the
castle at the other side, I briefly wondered who he was until Dan made me
react again.

"We're ok" He sighed as he hugged me tight and for that moment I did feel
everything was ok.

Hi! It's me, Andy. I'm the author of this story, and I hope you like it so far.
In most e-mails you seem to want to know stuff about me, like my age, hobbies,
etc.

I'M 19 years old ... I enjoy writing, as you can imagine, I love writing poems
and songs, and expressing myself through words ... I want to be a Doctor, but
would love to be a writer ... My favourite colour is blue ... I looooove
ice-cream ... My favourite movie is Easy A, and my favourite TV show is Friends!!
