RECAP- In the last chapter Ky and Teddy went out on a mission. The mission
was more dangerous than they thought. Ky ran into the sexy KARMA agent,
they made out and had a little fun before Kyle stopped it like
always... Such a fricking TEASE! The mission was to kidnap a scientist to
get some information out of him before he told it to the wrong people,
unfortunately he ran into a female agent who uses electric claws as a
weapon. The chapter ended with her raising her claws high, just a swing
away from killing Kyle.

******************************* Glimmer of Hope - Chapter 5
******************************

{Kyle's POV}

You know it's odd. The thoughts you have when you know it's all over, when
your life has come to an abrupt unplanned end. I thought my last thoughts
would be my happiest moments, but no such luck. As the girl raised her claw
up and aimed down at my neck, images flooded my mind. I remembered being 5
years old and snuggling with Aaron as he sang a song to me.

"Let the river flow. Let the snow fall down. Let your heart beat fast. Let
it beat against mine. I see in your eyes, a glimmer of hope and I'll hold
you tight. Let me be... by...  your... side. Cause I can see the love in
your eyes. You are my sunshine" It was a lullaby mom created to sing for
us. Aaron sang it to me the day I cut my finger on some glass. He held me
tight and rubbed my back as I sobbed. I ended up falling asleep in his
arms, waking up later in my bed.

Thoughts kept flowing all in that one crazy moment in time. A split second!
You would assume it impossible to remember so much at once. I remembered my
mom's smile. Her weird cooking, as I tried to swallow. Dad helping me build
the tree house, in our immense backyard. Teddy, since we were six, playing
on the slide together. The day that I met Kevin he was the first guy I
liked. The day I met Kari, and how she told me I was too dumb to be on her
class... and the day I met Alex.

<<<<< Flashback <<<<<<

"Mommy!! I don't want to stay here" I said pouting and crossing my arms as
I arrived to my new school. I was 8 when we moved.

"Baby you are going to fit in nicely. Aaron will watch out for you, and you
brought mister snuggles right?" She said as I looked down blushing.

"I don't like teddy bears anymore!" I say looking away.

"Really... Let me see your backpack." She said smiling motherly.

"Nuh uh" I said hugging it.

"Ok..." She looked away as I was about to open the door, her hands launched
at me and started to tickle me all over.

"Mommy! Stop!" I giggled as she kept tickling.

"No matter how big you are honey, you are always going to be my baby" She
said kissing my cheek and ruffling my hair as she opened my backpack and
saw Mr. Snuggles in my pack.

"I'm not a baby" I said again as she just smiled.

"Go. Make some friends" she said opening my door and walking around to help
me down.

"Bye mommy" I said kissing her cheek. I walked into the school building as
mom drove out the gates. I walked to my new 3rd grade classroom and looked
inside. Everyone was sitting on the floor.

"So kids, we are going to play the introduction game. Alex, throw the ball
to someone you want to get to know something about." The teacher said as
the blonde kid with the ball looked at me. He had very messy blonde hair
and was wearing jeans and a red shirt with cartoons on it. Since the moment
I was standing in the doorway his eyes were locked on me.  He threw the
ball and I caught it.

"Oh, you must be Kyle Kiler right?" The teacher said standing up. I nodded.

"I want to know about him!" The cute blonde kid said as he jumped up and
down anxiously.

"Kyle, come sit with us and tell us about yourself" The teacher sat me by
her side.

"H-h-hi, I'm Kyle and my mommy, daddy and brother moved here 5 days ago. I
like Gummy Bears and soda!" I said blushing. I looked up to a pair of blue
eyes staring into mine.

"Why are your eyes so pretty?" said the blonde kid as the other kids
shuffled to look at my eyes. I blushed again.

"My mommy says I'm unique..." I said smiling. They looked at my eyes,
intense gray, different than normal grey eyes; they have slight green rays
coming out of the pupil like asun.

"They sure are beautiful eyes sweety." The teacher said pinching my
cheeks. I blushed and squirmed and the day continued.

Later that day, at recess I sat near the small field to eat my
sandwich. There were many kids running around playing soccer. I saw a ball
fly to me and I ducked. Alex ran to get the ball and threw it to his
friends and then he ran to me.

"Did I hit you?" He asked worried.

"No... Don't worry" I said as he looked at my sandwich. I smile and handed
half of it to him. He smiled broadly.

"Thank you!" He said as he bit it. He smiled.

"You're welcome, I have juice too" I said handing it to him.

"You are cute..." He said as he pinched my cheek, I blushed.

"I'm not cute, I'm too big to be cute" I said looking away.

"I like you. You're going to be my friend ok?" He asked as he looked at me
intensely. I nodded. And there it all started.

Fast forward to when we were 15 years old.

I was staring at a picture Alex had drawn for me. It was us kissing,
profile drawing. I smiled as I touched his face.

"I did it!" Alex said as he stopped writing on his notebook.

"What did you do?" I asked walking to him on the bed as he lay down and
wrote his signature.

"This!" He shoved it to me. It was a piece of paper. It read.

Kyle Kiler, do you accept Alex Blake as your husband (Of course he does!!
Why ask that).  And Alex Blake, do you accept Kyle Kiler as your lawfully
wedded husband (Of course he does DUH) and cook for him his favourite
food. Have sex with him daily and always recognize him as a super sexy
stud?! Love him, because he loves you... Always loved you...  Will, love
you.


I smiled and blushed at the paper. His signature was already on it. I
grabbed the pen and signed next to his.

"Ta DA! We're married" He said as he jumped on me and kissed me with
passion.

"Haha, Ok. Soo, what husbandly duties do I have to do first, sex or food?"
I said smiling as he touched my face and kissed.

"Love" He said taking my breath away.

I know. How can someone think so much crap in matter of seconds? Sad, I
know. I looked up as her hand closed the distance and got ever nearer to my
skin. I thought my trip down memory lane was over, but as soon as I felt
the slight electric shock raise my arm hair I saw a smile; to be specific
Daniel's smile. I saw his body, his face, and his deep brown eyes looking
like chocolate ... bam!

"What the fuck" I heard above me, my eyes were closed. I thought I was a
goner. But I saw the girl her electric claws were on the floor. I looked at
what she was looking at. The KARMA agent I met on my first mission as level
6. He had a gun in his hand he saved me.

"Never let your guard down" I said as I threw my chain knife at her feet,
she looked down and jumped up high. The guy shot at her but she threw some
knifes to the gun and the knives cut through the metal. The sexy agent
jumped out of the way. The girl ran to the floor and slid the electric
nails back onto her fingers. She smiled sadistically at the sexy guy.

"Ohh... had a chance to kill me there stud... You'll regret that. I'll
enjoy killing you...slowly." She said walking to him. Karma stood there
looking at her warily standing ready to attack.

"I normally don't hit girls, but I'll kill you in a heartbeat" He said as
he waited.

"You really don't know the difference right?" She said as she launched at
him. He raised his foot to her face but she disappeared in thin air. I felt
a presence behind me. I ducked as her clawed hand pierced the air I was
just on.

"How did you get here?" I asked as I stuck out my foot, did a 360 spin with
my leg out to make her trip. She jumped and again jumped at Karma. She
pushed him to the ground and clawed into his chest. I rushed and launched a
knife at her. She jumped off as I rushed to Karma.

"Are you ok" I asked as I placed a hand on his covered face. He coughed.

"Will be, those claws did a number on my nerves. I can't move much but I
can divert here.  Get out of here" He said, leaving me speechless.

"Aren't you noble...? Don't worry I'll get us out of here ok?" I said as He
smiled at me.

"You're not only hot, but nice" He said as we heard someone make a whining
sound.

"God you make me sick. I'll enjoy killing both of you, soo slow I'll feel
your skin tear under my nails" She said launching herself at me. I grabbed
the knives, ducked and threw them. The chains wrapped around each one of
her calves. I pulled and she fell backwards.  She turned around in mid air
while falling and placed her hands forward to fall on push up
positions. She raised her feet up, the chains lifting my body up in the
air. I was about to slam on the floor head first. I threw my palm out. My
palm stretched out as I fell on one hand. I held my balance as she
untangled herself. I lowered my body and pushed upwards to fall back on my
feet.

"I'll kill you bitch" I said as I ran to her. She ran at me as well. We
both went at it with pure fists trying to hit each other. When she tried to
claw me, I'd cover with my knives. She just kept on attacking, I attacked
back; hits on her side, on my side, punching back and forth.

"Mmm you are good. I'm going to enjoy this so much" She said as she aimed
one electric nail at me, it flew out of her hand like a dart attached to a
thin wire. I evaded. I grabbed her throat and pushed upwards.

"You're dead" I said smiling.

"No, but he is." She smiled with a look of pure evil. I followed the wire
with my eyes. The nail was stuck on Karma's chest. I looked up at her
worried.

"If I want to, I'll send shockwaves to his heart that would kill him in a
second" She said.

"No. Please don't." I begged as she smiled, she snapped her fingers. The
electric current ran through the cable. I felt my body pulse and shut
down. I felt my pupils expand and my veins pump blood even faster. I felt
heavy and in a second it all changed. I felt as if I was watching
everything in slow motion. I grabbed my knife and sliced through the
wire. The electricity stopped. Everything was frozen but me. I grabbed my
knife and slashed through her stomach. I then kicked her in her stomach and
stuff came back to normal. My blood pumped slowly. I felt heavier and I
could breathe normally. Her body lifted in the air as she held her wound.

"W-w-what happened?" She asked confused. Truth be told, I was even more
confused. She held her bleeding wound and grabbed a small sphere from her
belt. She threw it to the ground. A loud bang and a white light filled the
room. The light vanished and she was gone. The door of the vault was
open. I walked in. And there he was; the scientist, my target. He had been
staring at the battle.

"Hah... I did it" He said smiling at me.

"What?" I asked walking to him.

"It worked." He said again with a maniacal laughter. I looked at him, took
my gun out and aimed I shot the dart as he looked at me.

"Both were a success. But you're better" He said as his eyes closed
slowly. I scratched my head in confusion. I looked down at his body when I
heard noise outside. The Karma guy was standing looking at me.

"Go, before I have to kill you" He said as I grabbed the body, threw him
over my shoulder and walked out of the vault. I stopped and ran to him. I
pecked him on the lips.

"Thank you" I said as he smiled. I ran out of the room, holding the body of
my target. I made my escape. Teddy was already outside the tent. He had dug
himself out.

"God!! Kyle I was worried SICK. SICK!" He said as he saw me and sighed in
relief.

"I got him!!! You have to take him to ATLANTA after you get me home ok?
There's something I need to do." I said as Teddy nodded.

"Let's go then" I said. He smiled, took out his remote and clicked the red
button. The tent became a small metallic square again. He shoved it on his
back pack. Clicked another button on the remote and the black car appeared
down street closing the distance between us. We shoved the guy on the back
seat and I got shotgun as Teddy started to drive.

"We did it! It's a 10 mission! I'm sure we will get ranked up!!" Teddy said
as he drove.

"Yeah" I looked out of the window.

"What are you thinking about?"

"Nothing...Just tired." I said more myself than to Teddy.

"Mm... Ok. We're here." He said parking, I smiled and hugged him.

"Thanks for everything... Really, thank you." I said, as he hugged back.

"I was so scared something would happen to you..." He said sadly as he
hugged me tighter.

"I'm not gonna die. Ok?" I said as he nodded.

"I know." He said as we stopped hugging. I just smiled.

"I really love you Teddy, you're my brother" I said as he looked down
feeling emotional.

"Thank you..." He said as I walked out of the car. I ran to the door, he
raced off. I entered, but as it was 1:00am I was not expecting my parents
at the door. There they were, in the living room waiting. As soon as I was
inside they stood up.

"I'm back" I said doing a little dance as they sighed.

"We were worried honey... I'm glad you are ok." Mom said as she kissed my
cheek, I kissed her cheek and Dad came to hug us.

"Now go to bed. You have school you know" My dad said as he ushered me to
my room. I groaned not wanting to go to school the next day. I went to my
bedroom, turned the lights of and the yellow dimmers on. They lit my room
slightly. I walked to my bed. My hands grazed the thick wool covers. I
grasped a fistful as I fell on my knees on the floor. Both my hands gripped
the covers as I looked down. Tears ran down my eyes into the sheets. My
hands went under the bed. I pulled out another box.

I opened it, it was a shoebox. Old... Red... it was filled with letters and
notes. I looked at a couple, all from Alex. I pulled from the bottom of the
box a specific letter. Tears dropped softly on the paper. It was old and
aged, but you could read it perfectly. It was the marriage "contract" I
looked at it and hugged it to my chest.

"Why did I think of you? You shouldn't be my last thought." I said
remembering that he invaded my mind when I thought I was about to die. I
rested my back against the bed, the paper on my leg and looked up; my hands
covering my face gently sobbing.

"Why did you hurt me? I loved you." I said to the paper. I shook my head,
shoved the paper into the box and slid it under my bed. I walked out of my
room silently and made my way down to the kitchen. I searched into the
liquor cabinet and took out a halfway emptied bottle of vodka. I served
myself a glass with some orange juice. I placed the liquor back and downed
my drink wincing slightly.

I placed the glass on the sink. I slid the back glass door open. I walked
into the yard and looked at the trees. Flashes of me and Alex running and
hiding from each other behind trees swam in my mind. I walked deeper into
the forestry. My hand touched a tree and I saw it...  fifteen year old Alex
was there in front of me, his hand touching the trunk of the tree as he
smiled.

"Come on Kyle. You're slow" He teased. I turned around and there I saw me,
15 year old me running to Alex.

"I'm not slow. I have no incentive to run" I said as I jogged to Alex. He
arched his eyebrow. He lifted his shirt and showed his tight sexy six pack.

"Good enough?" He asked teasing. Fifteen year old me tackled him and we
wrestled there on the ground, fighting each other until he was on top.

"Ok, Ok you win..." Fifteen year old me said looking defeated.

"Nope, look at me, I win a kiss." Alex demanded as he leaned and kissed me
deep. I went red on the face as he kissed me, but fifteen year old me
kissed back with passion. I watched as they rolled around until
breathless. They stood up together and held hands.

"Let's go, deeper." He said. I followed them. I walked deeper until we were
at the middle of the forest yard. I know it's the middle because of the big
tree with a ladder and a tree house on top. They climbed up. I remembered
this day. It was Alex's birthday. I had decided for us to go to the tree
house, but I was delaying along the way because I was nervous.  Nervous
because... Well I climbed up to the tree house after them. In the tree
house I saw it, candles all around. The wood had been treated and would not
readily burn, dad's idea.  There were red, already lit and all around. A
mattress was on the floor with fluffy pillows and a fluffy cover. No rose
petals there were pictures of us all around the tree house, holding hands
kissing. Fifteen year old me stood there nervously looking around as Alex
took it all in. This was my present to him, my virginity.

"Baby... It's...beautiful" He said as he hugged me tight and raised me up
kissing me with love.

"Thanks... I wanted to um, to give you myself to you" fifteen year old me
said softly. Alex stopped and set me down. He looked down at me. He rubbed
my cheek lovingly as he lowered his face to mine. He kissed my lips
softly. I stood there watching as past Alex and past me kissed. They were
both on the bed. Alex removed my shirt and kissed my neck, he kissed along
one shoulder. Soon we were naked under the covers, him on top of me looking
down caressing my hair.

"I love you" He said as he dug his face into my neck and kissed as his eyes
welled up with emotion. He went back to my lips.

"I love you too Alex..." Old me and me said at the same time, like if I was
repeating the words of a song.

"I know you do... And it makes me happy...So happy." 15 year old Alex and I
said at the same time. I remembered every word.

"I'm happy with you Alex. I know we will be together forever" Past me and I
said at the same time. And I came back to my senses.

"STOP...!" I screamed. The happy couple just kissed and kept going. I
closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I opened them again. I was in the
tree house. Alone, the wood looked old not new like it was a second ago. I
sighed as I walked to the window of the tree house.  My eyes filled with
tears.

I grabbed the edge of the window as I looked up to the moon and the
stars. Tear drops sliding down my face into the old withered wood.

"You took all that I am" I said as I hugged myself. I cleaned the tears out
of my eyes and heard a noise behind me. I turned around swiftly. There in
front of me was Alex with a shocked look on his face. My mouth was
partially open as I stared back at him. He had his hair messy. His eyes
were swollen and reddish and he was holding in his hand a nearly empty
bottle of Vodka Absolut.

"Kyle?" He croaked out softly.

"Alex?" I replied confused.

"What are you doing here?" He asked drunkenly.

"This is my tree house. What are YOU doing here?" I asked as he walked to
me, his hand reaching out as he stumbled. He touched my face.

"It is you. I'm not imagining it am I?" He said smiling as the bottle
dropped and splashed on the floor. It didn't break, just laid there rolling
around. He had thrown his arms around me and hugged me to him.

"Alex, let me go" I said squirming under him.

"I was supposed to protect you. It was my job. I know they're protecting
you, but it was my job! I had to do it. You're different, different than
any of us. You're my special Kyle. I wasn't supposed to fall in love with
you, but I did and I can't handle it!" He said blubbering.

"Alex, what are you talking about?" I asked as he hugged me even tighter to
him. He kissed my forehead over and over again.

"You're beautiful, sweet...perfect; and I did so much wrong to you and it
didn't bother me... I hurt you over and over again. Thinking I was in the
right... and everything was ok, because I could feel you still loved
me. You still stared at me in class. You still let your eyes wander to me
in the cafeteria... but I can't feel your eyes on me anymore.  I don't want
you to move on. Don't move on please. I know I can't be with you, but don't
love anyone but me" He said pulling me closer. I tried to push myself out
of his grip, but he hugged tighter.

"Alex! STOP this now!" I said pushing him off. He landed on his butt. I
walked until my back was against the wall.

"Why? I want you to just be mine baby. Please..." He said walking to me
slowly.

"Don't...touch me. I can't forgive you. You outted me to save yourself. You
harassed me, insulted me, hit me... You can't ask me to not move on. I want
to heal and you are going to let me. Want it or not!" I said as I walked to
the trapdoor with the ladder under it.

"Kyle please, I can't let you go. Don't fall for Dan. I can't handle it. It
hurts when I see your eyes search for him at our table. I hate how he
smiles at you. How you smile back. Please, I know you still love me. Why
can't we try again, just the two of us?" He said as he grabbed my hands. I
felt trapped in Alex, his words, his warmth, his love.


"That's the problem; Just the 2 of us. I don't want to hide again Alex. I
want someone who is happy and proud to date me, someone I'm proud to say
I'm dating. I need someone who's not you." I said as I went down the
ladder. He followed slightly tipsy. I walked to my home as he tried to
catch up. He tripped over. I rushed to him.

"Are you ok?" I asked concerned as he looked up.

"You still care" He said smiling as he closed his eyes.

"Of course I care, but I don't want to anymore. Just let me get you home
ok?" I said as he nodded. I helped him up, walked with him as he had his
arm wrapped around my shoulder leaning over. He hummed slightly with a big
goofy smile on his face. We walked up street for a couple blocks. We ended
up in his front yard.

"Thank you" He said and pressed his lips against mine, I froze. He removed
them from my mouth.

"Just go inside" I said looking away.

"You still care. That's enough for me" He said smiling as he walked
groggily to his door.  He fumbled for keys. He opened the door, looked back
and waved. I looked away and walked home slowly. I walked to my backyard
and inside from the back sliding door. I locked it and went upstairs. I
took off my shoes and clothes, showered and got into my boxers. I took out
the red shoe box from under my bed. I was about to open it, but pushed it
back under. Forget him, I told myself. I clicked the button behind the
frame on my nightstand.  The picture of me and Aaron turned into the radar
with the arrow going clockwise at a fast speed. The picture frame is radar,
connected to my brother's chip which is supposed to be inside our
teeth. It's a location chip. I snuggled into the bed. Turned the lights off
and sank down into my pillow. I was just about to sleep, when for the first
time since he disappeared a little white circle appeared on the radar
screen. My eyes shot open as I looked at the radar. The white spot flashed
a couple more times and then vanished.  I touched the screen.

"Come on!!" I said tapping it. The dot was gone, but it left a glimmer of
hope.

Well hi! It's me, Andy. I'm the author of this story, and I hope you like
