Everything is great in mine. I've been fiddling around with my story, and when I saw where it was headed, I had to go back and change the ending to chapter 8. Everything else in this chapter is the same, except for the ending. If you've read the other version, please e-mail me and tell me which one is better. My address is gibsongirl101@hotmail.com Well, y'all know the warnings and rules and such, so I'm not going to waste your time (or mine) writing them all down. On to the sotry! Eric: I was so happy for Chris. He had his family back. As we stood there in the midst of out two families, I knew that it would be this way forever. I could imagine Christmas at our house, with both of our families around. And they'd be there at Thanksgiving, Easter and 4th of July too. I rested my head on Chris' shoulder, and he circled my waist with his arm. We were both beaming, as we watched our parents talking, as if they had been friends forever. It was a beautiful thing to see. "I am so happy right now, Eric. I don't know if I could ever be any happier!" Chris whispered to me. "Me either. I will always be happy with you in my arms." I looked at Chris and we kissed quickly. "Aw, isn't that adorable!" sneered a familiar voice. I turned around and saw Justin Tripp standing behind us, with three of his cronies backing him up. "The two resident fags are in love!" Justin and his friends laughed menacingly. Justin Tripp was a very big guy. He was about 6'5'' and 260 pounds of muscle. He was the school bully, and loved to pick on anyone smaller than he. It had been Justin who had kicked my ass that time. He had just been allowed to come back to school the week before, after a three-week suspension. "What do you want, Tripp?" Chris asked, stepping between Justin and me. He was always trying to protect me. "Nothing. I just wanted to say hi." Justin smirked. "Well, you said it, now get out of here." Chris said quietly. "Oh, don't you want us around, Chris? Don't you like us any more? Aren't we friends?" "We have never been friends, Justin. Not since the day back in 2nd grade when you tried to beat the shit out of Kyle, Brandon and me. Now get out of here, before I smash your face in!" Chris took a menacing step forward, and even though he was three inches and about 80 pounds lighter than Justin, Justin backed away. "Oh, we're going, Benson. But we're not done yet!" Justin and his friends walked away, and Chris turned back to me. "I'm sorry about that, babe." He said. "Chris, nothing happened. I'm fine, you're fine, and they are gone. Stop worrying about it." "But what if they corner you when I'm not around. I don't want anything to happen to you!" Chris was so upset that I thought he would cry. "Chris, stop it! I am not helpless. They only got to me last time because I wasn't prepared. Next time, if there is a next time, I will be ready for them. You know that I spent 10 years learning the martial arts. I can defend myself." I paused. "But I love that you want to protect me. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside." Chris blushed and hugged me quickly. We were interrupted my his father saying, "Chris, were those boys bothering you?" "Not really, Dad. Those are the guys who beat Eric up. But I don't think they'll try anything else. The cops told them if they beat anyone else up, their punishment is going to be worse than a three week suspension and 500 hours of community service." "Ok, but I want you to promise me that you'll tell me if they try anything. This goes for you too, Eric." "Sure thing Dad." "Of course Mr. Benson." "Eric, I think that you can call me Jason, seeing as you are going to be my son-in-law." I smiled and said, "Anything you say, Jason." Just then Kyle, Mac and Robby ran up, and hugged both Chris and I. I guess they were still psyched about winning the game. But then, so was I. "Hey, guys, we're going to Denny's for some celebratory ice-cream, and then we'll have a sleep-over at my house. You coming?" "Do you want to go, Eric?" Chris asked me. "Sure, it will be fun." "Do you mind, Mom, Dad?" he asked his parents. "Not at all. You go have some fun with your friends. We'll have plenty of time to talk tomorrow. I love you son." His mother said. "I love you too Mom, Dad." Chris gave them both hugs, and I hugged my parents, and then we were off. "So, where are we really going?" Chris asked Kyle. "How do you know we aren't going to Denny's?" Kyle replied. Chris gave him the Look, the one that says, "I know you better than I know myself. Now tell me the truth!" "Ok, ok!" laughed Kyle. "I'll tell you. Just don't give me the Look, anymore! We are going to the city, but that's all I can tell you. The rest is a secret!" I knew that Chris would want to push Kyle until he found out the secret, so I said, "Chris, let it go, honey. If your friends want to surprise us, let's let them. I, for one, love surprises!" Chris thought a moment, and said, "OK, babe. I get it!" we reached Kyle's mother's suburban, where one other guy was waiting for us. I didn't know him. "Eric, this is Zack. He's Kyle's cousin." Chris whispered to me, before turning to greet the newcomer. "Zack, it's great to see you man! How long has it been?" "Two, three years?" Zack said, smiling. He was actually a very good-looking guy. He was almost as tall as Chris, only about an inch shorter. He had brownish-red hair, and I think that his eyes were a light brown, maybe an amberish color, but it was hard to tell, in the darkness. He had a swimmer's build, and was dressed impeccably in khaki colored chinos, and a black sweater that showed off his great chest. The only thing I didn't like about him was the gleam in his eyes when he looked at Chris. It made me uncomfortable, but I don't think that Chris noticed anything. He was too busy getting caught up with Zack, to notice the look in the guy's eyes. WE all piled into the suburban. Kyle and Zack sat in the front, Mac and Robby in the middle, and Chris and I in the back. I thought that it was very nice of the others to let Chris and I have the back seat. That way, we wouldn't be too visible if we couldn't keep our hands off one another, and by the way that Chris was looking at me, I knew that it was very possible that we wouldn't be able to stay apart. As the car got going, and the conversation started to flow, I leaned over to Chris and nibbled on his ear. He goes crazy when I do that. He leaned his head over, so I could have better access to his ear. He started to moan, so I put my hand over his mouth, so that the others wouldn't hear. Soon, Chris and I were engaged in some heaving making out, but we didn't want to go any further with the other's in the car, so we backed off, and contented ourselves with holding hands for the rest of the way. Actually, the ride was kinda fun. Kyle had cranked the radio up and they were all singing along with the pop-stars. I loved singing, so I sang along as well. We were all laughing as Robby did a solo. He couldn't sing for crap, but he was a good sport. Soon we were in the city, and Kyle turned down the radio so he could talk to us. "Ok, were all 18, right?" there was a chorus of yeses. "Good, then we are going to go dancing." "Great, I love dancing," I said. "Oh,. I think that you are going to love this place more than any other dance club!" Mac exclaimed, nudging Robby in the side, and they both convulsed in laughter. Chris and I exchanged glances, and shrugged. We would find out what they had in store for us sooner or later. Kyle found a place to park, not far, he said, from the club we were going to. When we go to the club, we showed our i.d's. and paid the cover charge, and we were in! It was almost midnight on a Saturday, so the club was packed. I looked around, and was surprised to see that it was mostly men in the club. There were a lot of couples dancing, and I was shocked to see that some were even kissing. I looked over to Chris, and saw that he was as shocked as I was. This was a gay club! I looked over to Kyle, Robby and Mac, and wasn't surprised to see that they were all laughing hysterically. "You should see your faces! It's priceless!" gasped Robby. "Why are we here?" Chris asked. "Well, we thought that you both deserved a night of fun after the past month of living in secret. And we wanted to see what a gay club was like." Mac told us. "This is great, guys! Thanks!" I exclaimed. I grabbed Chris' hand and dragged him on to the dace floor. It was a fast song, and I was quickly caught up in the music. Soon, it was a slow song, and Chris pulled me close to him. We danced in a circle while gazing lovingly into each other's eyes. Chris leaned down and brushed my lips with his, and soon we were just swaying back and forth, too preoccupied with kissing to do much dancing. When the song was done, Chris and I decided to find the others to see how they were faring in a club full of horny gay guys. We looked around and were amused to see Kyle and Mac in the middle of a crowd of women. They were probably the straight girls who came to dance, or to support their friends. "Even in a crowd full of gay guys, Kyle and Mac will find some women to entertain." Chris said, and we both laughed. We looked around for Robby and Zack. I couldn't see Zack anywhere, but from the way he had been looking at Chris earlier, I wouldn't have been surprised if he had found a guy to make out with. "Look! There's Robby!" exclaimed Chris. I looked in the direction that Chris had indicated. And sure enough, there was Robby, grinding away with a hot college age guy. "He looks like he is having fun!" I laughed. "Let's go meet his dance partner!" Chris said. I nodded and let Chris lead the way through the crowd. Robby saw us coming and waved us over. He motioned for us to follow him and his dance partner to one of the tables. "Hey guys, this is Xander. My boyfriend!" "What?!" yelled Chris and I together. Robby laughed and said, "Yeah. I'm gay. I met Xander at my cousin's graduation two years ago. We kept in touch through e-mail and stuff, and when Xander started at the university, we just sorta, fell in love." "And you never told me?" Chris asked, outraged. "Well, I honestly didn't think that any of you would be accepting of my relationship. But after yesterday, seeing you and Eric together, I got courageous, and told Mac and Kyle. Then they came up with this plan to go to the gay bar, and I figured that it would be a great place to introduce you guys to Xander." Chris stuck out his hand, and offered it to Xander. They shook hands and soon we were all talking like we'd been friends forever. Xander was a great guy, if a little bit of a flamer. But it was fun to be so unreserved about our feelings for one another. Soon Kyle and Mac had returned with phone numbers written all over napkins. "So, you two were lucky, huh?" I asked. They laughed and Kyle said, "I was so afraid that only gay guys would be here, but there were a lot of girls too." "Hey, let me see the numbers you got!" Xander said. Kyle and Mac looked puzzled, but did as he said. As soon as Xander looked at the first name he started to laugh. He went through all the names, and as he threw them down one by one on the table he said, "Guy...guy...lesbian.... guy.... guy.... guy.... taken.... sex change.... guy..." Kyle and Mac looked shocked, but the rest of us were laughing hysterically. "How do you know?" Mac demanded. "I come here a lot with friends, and most of these guys are either friends of mine, or friends of friends. Sorry guys, there is not one available `girl' in this bunch." "Shit!" muttered Kyle. "Why are all the good girls guys?" he whined. "They sure had us fooled. We never suspected a thing!" Mac told us. "Well, let's go. No point in staying here, when you all have each other, and there are no girls here for us." "Ok, but where's Zack?" Chris asked. "Oh, he went home with some guy. He said he'd see me tomorrow." Kyle told us. "Ok, then, let's go. Robby, are you coming with us?" I asked. "No, I'm staying here, and then Xander and I are going back to his place." Robby blushed as he told us his plans, but I thought he was cute. "Well all right then, let's go." Mac said, eager to leave and forget about his night of flirting with guys who dressed like girls. On the way home, I fell asleep on Chris. The last thing I remember thinking was, "I'm home." ************************************************************************ He watched as Justin stumbled down the path that led to the lake. He hadn't expected anyone to come down the path this late at night. He was only there to commune with nature. But he had never been one to let a golden opportunity pass him by. Here was the boy who had been an ass to HIS Chris. He deserved to pay for his dirty deeds. He smiled to himself and thanked God for this opportune moment. ************************************************************************ Justin was angry, angry at Chris, angry at Chris' friends, but most of all angry with himself. He didn't know why he had said the things he had to Chris. All he had ever wanted was to be friends with Chris. But his big mouth and nasty temper always got in his way. By the time Justin had reached the lake, he was crying. The tears kept streaming down his face, and he did nothing to brush them away. He took the letter he had written from his pocket and read it again. All in all, he thought it was a wonderful suicide note. It apologized to his parents for all the shitty things he had done in the past; it apologized to his friends for letting them down time and time again. But most importantly of all, it confessed his love for Chris. "Maybe, when I'm gone, Chris will see what a great guy I am, and regret that he never gave me a chance!" Justin said out loud. He was ready for death. He had been ready for a long time now. He turned to go back up the path, to his house, where there was a very nice gun waiting for him. Justin heard footsteps behind him. He turned and a look of horror came over his face. He opened his mouth to scream, but it came out a strangled cry as the piece of wood came down over his head. The man dragged Justin's inert body to the lake and threw it in. It would be discovered in a day or two, and ruled an unfortunate accident. He smiled to himself, and congratulated himself on a job well done. Now his beloved Chris wouldn't have to put up with Justin's shit any longer. He turned to leave, and didn't notice the white piece of paper that had fallen from Justin's hand. So, was that better than the last ending? Let me know, pretty please with sugar and a cherry on top! ;) My e-mail is, once again, gibsongirl101@hotmail.com
