All comments are welcome at wideeyedone@hotmail.com Never is a Promise Chapter 2 The rain fell hard all around the top of my car. It was cold, and there was no way to remove the vehicle from the mud. Aaron was kind enough to give me his shirt and considering it was the only dry article of clothing he salvaged, it was a wonderful gift. He stripped down to his underwear and threw his wet clothes in the back seat. A wisp of hair fell across his face wetting his lips. They were beautiful. I wanted to kiss them, to kiss him. In my mind I could taste him. I started to shiver, the car's heater wasn't working and I was covered in mud soaking from head to toe. "What the hell were you thinking Tuck?" "I was worried" He was worried. I could tell. I felt guilty all of the sudden for not getting to the car fast enough. Aaron had to run out and practically drag me in from outside. "Take those clothes off, you're going to get pneumonia!" "I am," I said through chattering teeth, knowing full well I was shivering too much to move. Aaron noticed this and started to pull my shirt over my head. His touch sent shiver of joy though my body. I could feel my erection pushing against the crotch of my shorts. As he moved to remove them I stopped him. "I'm okay, Thanks anyway though" "Are you sure?" His voice was tender, almost motherly "Yeah" Aaron tried to put his shirt on me but I told him that I would be fine and that he should wear it. He threw it in the back seat with the rest of the clothes. "Well, we aren't getting out of here anytime soon. We might as well wait it out until tomorrow to see if we can get the car out." "My mom is going to kill me Aaron" "No she won't. She'll be worried. Look Tuck, there is really nothing we can do right now." "She won't care. She's going to kill me." "Tuck, no she won't." Besides if she tries I will throw myself in front of the bullet for you." I laughed "Yeah right." Aaron looked me in the eyes and gave me a look so I knew he was being serious. "I would Tuck. I would do that for you. You are the best friend I have ever had." "Thanks Aaron" I didn't think it was possible, but after he said that I think I loved him even more. He turned his attention back to the window and peered into the rain that engulfed us. The heater was broken when I bought the car, but I decided what the hell. I reached forward to try the heater and I slipped in my seat and grabbed onto Aaron's thigh to regain my balance. "Are you alright?" "Yeah, I slipped. I knew I should have gone with cloth seats." "You should have gone with a heater!" He said and let out a small laugh. "Fuck you!" We both started laughing and after a few minutes we stopped and Aaron reached over and set his hand on top of mine. Silence filled the air. I looked at him into his beautiful green eyes and then I looked down at our hands. I turned my hand over and laced my fingers with his. Aaron looked like he was going to cry. "Tuck?" "What are you^Å?" I yanked my hand away kicked open the door and started running. I didn't know where to but to somewhere away from there. I had just crossed an invisible line that was drawn between Aaron and myself and I was terrified by what it might mean. I just kept running and running and running until something grabbed me from the shoulders and crashed down on top of me. "What the fuck are you doing?!!" Aaron was on top of me pinning my wrists with his hands. He was yelling at me but I could tell there was more worry in his voice than anger. "I'm sorry, I'm just so sorry" I said tears welling in my eyes. "I don't know why I did that, I just wanted^Å.. I don't know." "I don't know what is wrong with me!" I was sobbing uncontrollably at this point. Aaron scooped me up in his arms and pulled my head to his chest. He began to carry me to the car all the while whispering "its ok Tuck, It's gonna be ok" in my ear. When we got to the car he opened the back door and set me in. He climbed in back with me and I lay with my head in his lap. Still crying but not as much as before due to exhaustion. Aaron looked down at me and stroked my hair. When I finally stopped crying, I sat up, leaned against the door and watched the rainfall. "Tuck^Å" he began. "Don't Aaron. I'm ok, can we please drop it" "Tuck, look at me please" I couldn't look at him. I was so ashamed of myself and I knew if I told him I was alright, that when I looked at him that my eyes would betray me. "I can't" Aaron scooted over to where I was and grabbed me by the shoulders and turned me. He looked at me with those eyes and I swear I could see his soul. He grabbed my left hand with his and laced our fingers. I looked down at my hand and then back up to him and a tear fell out of my eye. Aaron reached up with his hand and wiped away my tear with his thumb. I closed my eyes and nuzzled into the back of his hand. The trip trapping of the rain on the roof of the car made it a surreal environment, it was still coming down in buckets and now thunder and lightning were beginning to come in. "Aaron." "I think I'm falling in love with you." I had to say it, I couldn't hold it in any longer. I scrunched my forehead and drew back away from him expecting the worst. Aaron leaned in until our faces were only inches apart. "Tucker, I've already fallen" And then he kissed me.
