The New Boy On The Block Part 2 By: BeBoo "I think I hear my mom calling me. I better go," Chris said as he pulled off. Just before he left, he gave Jack a look. A look of hate, or was it fear? As Chris rode back the way they came, Jack zipped his pants up as well and hopped on his bike after Chris. "Dude, wait up," shouted Jack. "No way, you fucking faggot. Stay away from me," Chris shouted back. When Jack heard this he stopped his bike. He had never heard someone say this to him because no one knew, but it hurt him to hear this. Jack slowly pedaled back home thinking about all that just happened today. Somewhere he got lost in his tracks to a sound of a horn behind him. There was a car driving behind him. Jack pulled on to the sidewalk and the car drove by. As it drove by, he got a look at the driver. He looked very familiar but wasn't sure who it was. "Oh well," he said to himself. About five minutes later, he walks up to his house, puts his bike on the porch and walks in the house. "What's wrong, honey," my mom asked. "Nothing. I need time to think. I probably won't be having dinner with you tonight." "Ok, but make sure you get something to eat later, ok? And if you need someone to talk to, I'm here for you." She may be there for him but she would never understand. "Ok" was all he said as he walked slowly up the stairs. DING-DONG Someone was at the door. Jack didn't care. He wasn't in the mood for visitors. "Hi, Jack's mom. I uh... Is Jack home? I really need to talk to him." That voice sounded so familiar. It hurt him to hear that voice. He knew exactly who it was. "Fuck off, Chris," he said. "Jack, watch your language! Be nice to Chris" "He betrayed me, mom. You wouldn't understand. Just tell him to go away and let me be. Please!" "Well, I'll come back later then, maybe. Can I get his phone number? Maybe I can call him later on." "Sure. It's 634-580... 5... I always get so confused with the numbers. He is 5805 and I'm 5804. Geez." "Thanks again. Talk to you later" Up in Jack's room, Jack is looking out the window from the front of the house to see Chris walking slowly back to his house. Chris turns around and looks up at Jack in his window. Jack immediately closed the curtains in a forceful manner and went to lie on his bed. In his dreams, all he saw was the whole situation between him and Chris all over again. But it seemed... different this time. He didn't quite know why but it didn't seem to be as painful as it really was. Visions on Chris flood his mind. He couldn't seem to get this boy off his mind even though he just betrayed him. But he came over here... what for? Did he want to apologize? Did he forget something? * RING RING * All of his visions broke when he woke up to his phone ringing. He had a huge headache and noticed he had been crying. He also found out he had a boner. With the phone still ringing, he looks over at the clock, which read 6:23 pm. He let the phone ring a third time so his answering machine would pick it up. "Yo, it's Jack. I'm not here to answer your call or I might not want to talk to you. Leave me a message and I'll think about calling you back. Don't forget your number!" * BEEP * "Jack... look... I'm really sorry for what I said. I... [ sigh ] I over reacted in the woods and I'm sorry. If you're gay, that's cool. If you're not, that's cool as well. I just don't want this friendship to start off on the wrong foot. Ok? Look, if you want to talk to me, my number is 634-1429. Again... I'm sorry. Bye." * BEEP * With that Jack noticed he had started tearing up while listening to Chris. Does Chris actually know about me? Should he know about me? All these questions started flooding his mind. He had to get online and ask his best friend Gordon. Ten years later, his modem connects to AOL. Gordon isn't online. "Where is everybody," he said to himself. He looked out the window towards Chris's house. It was hard to see because it was dark out already. Damn daylight savings time. He saw a figure moving around on the second floor on the left side of the house. He got his binoculars that he had won from a raffle to support the deer hunters in town. He could see a figure that looked like Chris that was pacing around in his room. He seemed to have a phone in his hand but couldn't quite see if it was a phone or not. * IM * The sound scared the living shit out of Jack. He jumped when he heard that sound. He put his binoculars away and looked at the screen. That annoying question of "Do you want to accept the Instant Message from..." came up and he noticed it was Gordon. Good! He can talk with him. He talked with Gordon for a good 20 minutes about what he should do about Chris. He had basically said that he should give Chris a second chance after all the trouble he has gone threw to apologize. Chris thought it was a good idea after all. He told Gordon thanks and that he'd be on later and signed off of AOL. As he opened his door, he could smell something good cooking. Smelled somewhat like steak. Steak was Jack's favorite meat. As he walked into the kitchen, his mother greeted him. "Hey, sleepyhead. Why are your eyes so red? Have you been crying?" "Crying? Nah... both of my eyes are really itchy that's all. Is there enough there for me too?" "Sure... if you want some. I was just going to put it in the fridge for you so you could eat it when you got up." "I'm up now so I'll eat." "Well, it's almost done. Go get washed up" "Yes, mother," he said as if it was a chore to be done. After dinner, Diane cleaned up while Jack went back up to his room. He pushed play on his answering machine to listen to the message again to get the phone number. 634-1429. He wrote it down. He pushed the delete button on his answering machine then picked up his phone and started to dial. 6-3-4-1-4-2... he struggled on the last number...9. * RING... RING... RING... * "Hello?" It was a woman that picked up. Must be Chris's mom. "Is Chris there?" "Hold on" the woman said as she shouted "Chris! Phone!" "Hello?" A more familiar voice said. Jack, for some reason, couldn't talk. He was trying but nothing was coming out. "Hello??" the voice said a little annoyed. "Chris?" Jack finally said. "Jack? Is that you?" "Yeah..." he said quietly. "Look, man... I'm really sorry about what happened in the woods... I shouldn't have acted that way. If you could just forgive me, maybe we could start over?" "Yeah... I shouldn't have grabbed your hand in the first place" "Actually, I kind enjoyed it..." Silence fills the air as that was said. "Chris! Dinner!" was all that was heard to break the silence. "Look, I have to go eat so I'll talk to you later, ok?" "Yeah. Bye" And with that bye, Jack hung up. Even more things raced through his mind now. What did he mean by he enjoyed it? That silence afterwards made it worse... Why didn't he say something? But, what? What can you say after someone says that they enjoyed having their hand on someone's penis? He laid down on his bed and fell asleep. He's been going to sleep really early lately and he can't figure out why. Nonetheless, day one was now complete. He only wonders what will happen next. -- Hey, everyone. This is my first story and am new to this but this is my second part. How'd I do? Want me to continue it or just drop it?
