As we get to Kelston Boys School, I am told by Mrs. Garner that the closer school to the Garner's is full. Just what I want to hear. That means that chances are, I won' t be going to the same school as the kid next door. Just my luck. Oh well. I'm going to an all boys school. There are bound to be some hot guys, right? Mrs. Garner parks the car and we get ready to head in. "Nervous?" Mrs. Garner asks. "Nah, we are just registering right?" I reply. "I have nothing to worry about. Now when school starts, that's another story." Mrs. Garner chuckles as we start walking up the front stairs to the school. "You must be Jon Andrews." Says a strong but friendly voice. The voice belongs to a lofty man who looks to be in his 50s with graying hair and a slight pot belly. "I'm Dr. Skinner, the headmaster," he continues. "I speak on behalf of everyone here in welcoming you to Kelston. If there is anything we do, feel free to ask" "Thanks, I'm looking forward to starting" Dr. Skinner leads us inside. "Kelston Boys High School has been around for approximately 50 years. Right now we have roughly 1,100 students enrolled this term." Wow. 1,100 boys. I'm sure there are some cute gays. There would have to be, right? Don't statistics show that 1 in 10 guys are gay? That means there could potentially be 110 gay guys. Does that statistic only apply to the U.S.? Even if there are 5 gay guys I will be happy. Kelston looks to be about the size of my high school back in Iowa. Roughly the same number of students. The atmosphere here seems much better. My school in Iowa is very snobby. We have the stereotype of being stuck up, which I am not. I am glad to get away from that stereotype. "Here at Kelston all the students are divided into 4 houses, each house has a color. The houses are Colgan, red; Bean, Green; Paton, Yellow; and Henry which is blue. We have put you in Colgan. Have you seen Harry Potter?" Dr. Skinner asks. "Yea, I have." I replied. "Good that makes it easier to explain. Each house gets points for the achievements and activities the students in those houses accomplish. There is a competition between the houses at the end of the year." Dr. Skinner goes on to explain why they have the house system. I zone out because as we are walking down the hall something grabs my attention. I see the one thing I wasn't expecting. The boy next door. God he really is cute. His curly blond hair lies perfectly on his head; I can see his piercing blue eyes from feet away. I need to know him. My new goal is to become friends with him. As he walks by our eyes meet. He greats me with the most exquisite smile. Perfect white teeth peep through his gorgeous lips. I want to say something but I don't know what. Sadly he continues to walk past. "Jon." The sound of Dr. Skinner's voice brings be back to reality. "Huh?" I reply. "I said, are you ready to choose your classes?" "Oh yea I am, sorry. I was just thinking about school back home." Dr. Skinner grinned a little. What I that obvious that I was staring at the kid? We head into the main office and take a seat in front of the desk. The office is brightly lit, white walls. There are photographs of men, who I am assuming are former headmasters, hanging up on the wall next to us. Dr. Skinner sits at the big oak desk. There are book cases on either side of him against the wall. "Have you been told classes you need to take for them to count on your transcript?" Dr Sinner inquires. "Yea I have to take a history class, literature class and a math class." "How good are you in mathematics?" "Pretty good, not my strong point." "Okay, how about we put you in a level 2 course of mathematics with statistics. That way if it is too easy, you can come see me and we will put you in a higher class." "Sounds good." "I have placed you into the general history and literature classes. There are 2 more openings for classes. Any idea what you want to take?" I think for a moment. I know for sure I don't want to take any classes dealing with computers. Computers and I don't mix. We never did. I can't type using the home row keys. I don't know HTML. I can't work Excel or any other program like that. The only things I know how to do are how to get online, how to use Photoshop and how to listen to downloaded music. "Anything but a computer class," I reply. "Are you interested in art?" "Yea, actually I am really into art. My main hobby after music." "Good, There is a spot open in a Graphics class. How does that sound?" "Sounds great! Is there an opening in a writing class?" "Hmm. Let me check. It looks like the only class there is an opening in is Creative Non-fiction. Is that acceptable?" "Yea that actually sounds really cool." "Okay. Now I'm just going to print out your schedule and you will pretty much be ready to go." Dr. Skinner hands the printed schedule to me. We shake hands as he walks us to the door of his office. "See you in a few days." I smile at him and we start walking down the hall. "We just have one more thing to do before we can go back home." Mrs. Garner informs me. "We have to get your uniform." "What?! There are uniforms?!" Oh great. I should have guessed. "You think you would be able to wear that?" Mrs. Garner says pointing to my jeans and old t-shirt. "What's wrong with my..." I then see she is smiling. "Nothing is wrong with what you are wearing. The just want you to look better than some bum off the street." She laughs. Mrs. Garner explains what the uniform consists of. Red polo shirt, a blue Kelston Boys High School jumper (sweatshirt) with either navy shorts and sandals (without socks) or navy trousers with navy socks and black leather shoes. The only jackets we can wear are standard Kelston Boys' jackets. As we get into the Kelston School Shop I see the uniforms. They aren't as bad as I had thought they would be. I dig the jumpers. We end up buying about 3 of everything (except the shoes). I am ready to get back to the house and take a nap. Still not over the jetlag, then again, I haven't even been here for a day. "Ready to go Jon?" "Yea, I think so. Thanks for everything Mrs. Garner. I am really glad I decided to come to Aukland" "Anytime. I know we are all glad you came too, and Jon?" "Yea?" "Cut this Mrs. Garner stuff out. You will be with us for a year. You'll basically become family. Call me Joanna, Mom, whatever you feel comfortable with. Just not Mrs. Garner." "Okay Mom," I say jokingly. She puts her arm around my shoulders and we walk to the car. The drive home is pretty quiet, so I start thinking of the boy next door again. This boy is taking up all my thoughts. He is the only thing I can think about. Why didn't I speak up when he was in the hall? Why didn't I introduce myself? I really wish I had gotten a name. "James." Joanna says. "What?" I am taken aback. How did she know what I was thinking? "What do you mean?" "The boy next door and in the hallway. His name is James Flagg." She looks over at me and must have sensed my angst. "Don't worry. It's okay if you are gay or bi or whatever." "How did you know?" I said quietly, a little ashamed. "I've noticed the way you've been looking at him, and he at you. Graham used to look at me the same way when he was younger. Don't worry. I won't tell anyone. It will just be between us." "Thanks. I haven't even told my parents back home yet. I don't even think I will. They are always working, never at home so it's not like they pay attention to what's going on in our lives anyway. Ever since we moved to Iowa, they have become a lot more conservative. I don't know if that is their way of dealing with everything that has happened or what, but as long as they remain conservative, they won't be finding out about me." "I'm so sorry to hear that. Where did you live before Iowa?" "Lived in Los Angeles, California. Moving to Iowa was a huge adjustment for me. No beach, no big city, no individuality. Just corn and republicans," I said laughing. "I bet that was an adjustment for you. I know how you feel about moving. When I was about 10 we moved here from South Africa. It was a huge adjustment for me as well. Why did you move, if you don't mind me asking." I don't know why, but I felt comfortable around Joanna. I felt I could tell her anything. Wish my mom was like this. I felt I could open up to her, so I did. "6 years ago my brother died in a car accident. He was hit by a drunk driver. After that, nothing really felt the same. So many memories. Everything would bring them back. My parents couldn't cope. Instead of going to grief counseling, and dealing with their feelings, they moved us to Iowa. Started anew like nothing ever happened. We never talk about it anymore. Seems like they just bottled up all their feelings. The thing that has upset me the most though is how the drunk driver only spent 1-1/2 years in jail. It's not fair." I started crying. I have never really talked about this to anyone. Not even my close friends in Iowa. "I mean it was all my fault it happened. If I hadn't called him to come pick me up, he would still be alive. I could have walked home... I'm sorry. I know I am being a baby. It happened 6 years ago. You would think I 'd be over it by now." "No, don't apologize. It's okay," said Joanna, in a soft soothing voice. "It is perfectly alright for you to feel like this. It is normal. Things like this you never get over, no matter how hard you try. It's understandable how you feel. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Life is never fair. Please remember. I am here whenever you need to talk. I am your host mother for a year, and you are my son, and I will treat you like one. So never think that you have no one you can talk to." Joanna hands me a tissue, as she parks the car. We get out of the car and walk into the house. I barely get in the door when Lucas takes my arm and pulls me into the sitting room. "This is my friend Jeremy. He is spending the night!" Lucas' enthusiasm makes me laugh. I say hi to Jeremy. He looks to be about the same age as Lucas, a little shorter though, about 5'2. He's cute, but not anything out of the ordinary. He has dark brown hair and hazel eyes. Jeremy looks shyly over at me and nods, going back to the video game he is playing on the big screen TV. "Jon is from America. He lives where there is lots of corn and pigs. He's going to be my brother for a year." It is obvious Jeremy is more interested in the video game than listen to Lucas talk, but that doesn't stop Lucas. He continues on chatting. I decided to head up to my room. Better finish unpacking. It's still dark when I awake. I must have drunk too much with dinner because I have to piss bad. The clock by my bed says 3:34 am. I pull on a t-shirt and walk down the hall to the bathroom. As I passed Lucas' room I heard voices. "Are you sure this is how you do it?" "Yes I saw this in a picture. Now hold still!" "What if someone hears us? What if we get caught?" "No one will hear us, now lets continue, ok?" "Ok. Are you really sure this is... oh that feels good, keep going." I can't believe what I am hearing. Are they really doing what I think I am? Or is my mind taking it too far? As I head back to my room I hear Lucas' door open. Out pops Lucas wearing nothing but socks. I quickly step into my room and watch from my door way. Lucas has a nice body for a 13 year old. Pretty much no baby fat left on him. His chest has the beginnings of some muscular definition. There is a small patch of pubic hair above his cock, which is about 5 inches standing straight up. Lucas runs into the bathroom and comes out with a bottle of what looks like skin cream. "Here this should work" I hear Lucas say before closing the door to his room. I get back into my bed, still shocked by what I just witnessed. Is this why Joanna said I had nothing to worry about? Does she know about Lucas? And did she say she saw the way I was looking a James and the way he was looking at me? Could that mean he is attracted to me the same way I am attracted to him? I start to drift off to sleep, but not before making a promise to my self. Tomorrow I am going next door and introducing my self and getting to know that by next door. Thanks to everyone that offered me feedback to the first chapter. I was going to wait until this weekend to write the second chapter but since there was such a good response I decided to write more today! :o) Hope you enjoyed this chapter. I wanted it to let you get to know some of the characters more. I want this to be more than just another jack off story (not that they are bad. They have helped me in times of um... need). I do promise that there will be some of those scenes in later chapters! Again feedback is good so feel free to leave some! You can also contact me on yahoo at xemoartsx (don't use that much) or AIM at xmightbewrongx. Thanks again and I hope you continue reading! A lot more to come in the future.
