No Boundaries Chapter One By Will I woke up to the sound of the front door slamming. ARGH! Having school this early in the morning should be illegal. Speaking of early... "7:30!!" I screamed as I jumped out of bed. `Shit, I've only got 30 minutes till school!' I ran to the bathroom and showered at break-neck speed. Cleansed of all dirtiness, I ran to my room. Putting my clothes on, I looked at the clock. "Oh my God! 7:45!" `Come on Will, get the rag out of your ass and move!!' The voice in my head screamed. I pulled some clothes on, fixed my hair, grabbed my keys and ran to my truck. Jumping in, I cranked it up and nearly broke my neck buckling up. I swear to this day I've never gotten to school as fast as I did that day. I got to school and swerved into my parking space. "Oh, great! Now I've got to run across campus!" I complained as I slammed my truck door. I sprinted across the court yard, trying to get to Chemistry before the bell caught me. Just as I was running through the door of the Math/Science hall. RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGG!! ! "Aw, shit!!! Well, if I'm gonna be late, there's no need to hurry." "Hey Big Will!" Called someone from down the hall. I turned around to see Justin coming up behind me. "Hey Just." I said as he walked up beside of me. "You late again, huh?" I asked as he walked. "Yup, it's the fourth time this semester. I'm gonna have to stay after school and make up the time I've missed." Aw, that sucks ass." For some reason, this boy is always late. `What do I say to him? He always causes me to be at a loss for words, but this is a nice feeling.' I thought. `And it doesn't hurt that he's wearing that skin-tight shirt either.' Oh, did I mention that I've liked Justin for a long time? "Big Will, this sucks." He said. "You. you wouldn't want to skip school with me would ya?" "Whoa! Since when did you ever wanna hang out with me? I mean, we have hung out since..." "...since the 3rd grade." He interrupted me. "I know we haven't, but since we're already late, I figure, well, why don't we just hang out? I don't know anything `bout ya anymore, so let's just make a day of it." Ok, this was really confusing me. Let me give you a little history about me and Justin. We've been going to school together ever since Kindergarten and we started hanging out in the first grade because our dads had gone to high school together. He and I were best friends all through the 1st and 2nd grades, but then Trent came along. He was a little spoiled rich kid, and was as snotty as they come. I didn't like him then and don't like him now. Justin started hanging out with him, and then he stopped hanging out with me. I've disliked Trent ever since. But I digress. Back the matters at hand. So as not to seem too OVERLY excited, I replied, "Ok, whatever." "Ok then, it's a date!" He said with a smile. We turned around and walked out the doors of our dilapidated school. So as not to get spotted by anyone in the office, we avoided the courtyard and walked around the back of the music building. The only problem with that was that we had to pass directly in front of Coach Wendell's office and the ISS room (for those of you who don't know what ISS means, it's called In School Suspension). Silently, I walked up to the coach's door to peak inside. He must have been out to roam the halls because the only people in there were the people with ISS. I turned around and motioned to Justin that the coast was clear. We crept past the door and ran the rest of the way to the underclassmen parking lot. Since we were going together, he asked me if I wanted to ride with him and we could pick my truck up after school was over. I agreed and we got into his car. I loved his car. It was a black Honda Civic two door, loaded, awesome system, and huge 17in chrome wheels with low profile tires. Now you may be thinking that Justin is a spoiled rich kid. Well, partly true, but only the rich part. His parents offered to buy him a car, but he wanted to pay for it himself. I thought it was really cool that he owned his own car. Actually, the bank still owned it, but he was paying off the loan little by little. Here I go again running off at the mouth while you're waiting on the story. Well, back to the action. "So, Will, what kind of music you listen to?" He asked as he pulled out into the road. "Oh, just anything. I don't really have a favorite." I lied. I did like all kinds of music, but I have this thing with the Backstreet Boys that just won't quit. I knew if I told him that, he would think I was a total dork. "That's fine then. I think I'll turn it to some rap, is that ok with you?" "Yeah, that's great." Lied again. I HATE rap, but, knowing it was his favorite music I just said ok. "So, won't Amber wonder why you're not at school?" Amber, the gorgeous cheerleader, was his girlfriend. I have to admit, she was gorgeous and she was extremely nice most of the time, but if you ever pissed her off, you might as well not exist, or sometimes, you might want to hide, because, even at 5 feet, she could kick anyone's ass. "I don't know nor do I care. She's been bitchin' at me for the stupidest shit the past few days, so we're not speaking right now." Uh oh. Shaky ground I be walkin' on. They'd been dating almost 2 years at the time, so I knew this had to be something pretty big. I wished more than anything that I could be her at least once. All of a sudden I started hearing someone talking to me. "Huh?" Was all I managed. "Bud, are you OK? I mean, you look like you'd turned space cadet on me for a second. You sure you're ok?" "Oh sorry. Nah, Just, I'm fine, really. I was just deep in thought, that's all." "Oh. Ok. Well, tell me if anything is botherin' ya, ok." "Nothing's bothering me, really. But I am a little hot. But of coarse you already knew that." I grinned, trying to ease the tension. He just smiled and rolled his eyes. "You're so weird." He smiled at me. If he only knew what he was doing to me when he'd smile. "I know, but you know you love it." Oh God this felt good. Just like we'd never stopped hanging out. "So, what do ya want to do with all this free time on our hands?" "I don't know. What do you want to do?" "We could go to your house, or you could come over, or we could go anywhere, because I don't have anywhere I need to be today." "Well, what about the mall?" "That sounds great. If you're good, I'll buy you dinner." Oops! I hope he doesn't think that was a come on, but it sure came out as one. "Oh, that's fine, baby, but can we have sex afterward?" he said in his most femme voice and batting his lashes. "Sure we could, Honey, but I don't put out of the first date!" I retorted. We both burst out laughing. He laughed so hard I was afraid that he was going to run off the road. We chatted along and listened to music until we reached the interstate. Our town is so small that we have to go to a local city that's 30 miles away to get to a decent mall. After we got on the interstate, Justin turned the music off, and sat there driving looking very thoughtful. I wondered what he was thinking. "Um, Justin, what's wrong bud?" I asked, concern riddling my voice. "Nothing. Well, it's just.Oh never mind. It's not important." He said as he fiddled his hands on the steering wheel. "Ok, Just. But if ya want to tell me, it's strictly between you and me." He looked over at me and smiled, trying to hide the sadness, but I could still see it as plain as day. I felt my heart breaking for him, cause first of all he looked pitiful, but second, I could just feel the intense sadness coming from him, and from the looks of things, he had been sad for a long time. We spent the rest of the ride to the mall in perfect silence, leaving me to my thoughts and him to his thoughts and his driving. `I wonder what's on his mind. He seemed fine, but now that I think about it, he didn't seem truly happy, just trying to keep his spirits up for another day of school.' `Do I really love him? I've thought about him a lot, wishing I could have been the one in his strong arms, be the one to feel his caress, his strong hands kneading my skin. It would be heaven to actually get to feel his touch, even for one second.' My thoughts were interrupted by a questioning tone. "Penny for your thoughts?" Justin asked. "Oh, its nothing. Just thinking about the love of my life." I said, trying with my every being to keep from just confessing my undying love for this man. "Uh oh, come on Big Will, tell me who she is, cause you know I'm going to bug you until you tell me." He said with a mischievous grin on his face. `Oh fuck! Quick, think of something!!!!' "Um, ah, um, uh. I'll tell ya later, but right now let's just get to the mall." I said. "In due time I will tell you who it is." "Ok, no big deal. But if you don't tell me later, I will torture you until you die!" `Ok, that look he's giving me gives me the creeps. He looks like a serial killer!' "You do know that you look like a serial killer when you do that?" I said sarcastically. "Yeah, so? Who said I wasn't as serial killer? For all you know I could be part of the Manson family." `Ok, now I'm scared!' At least the sad mood was broken. I turned the radio on to the alternative station. OH MY GOD! It was my favorite song, "Right Now" by SR71!! "Oh My God! I love this song!!" I screamed as I turned it wide open. "IT'S A PRETTY GOOD SONG!!" Justin yelled over the music. I just sat there and sang with the music and head-banged and just generally made a fool out of myself, but I didn't care. I was with the most beautiful person in all the world and I wanted to be myself, so I did. When the song ended, I turned the music down. "You know, Will, I've never seen you act that crazy. You're actually pretty cool." He said as he looked over at me and smiled. "Why did we ever stop hanging out?" He looked at me quizzically. "Well, I'm not sure, but we started having different friends, and different things we wanted to do, so you went one way and I went another." That I was the best I could come up with without bringing in Travis and calling him every name that I couldn't repeat in front of my mother. "Well, I think it was a big mistake for us to stop hanging out. You're actually one of the least fake people I know." "Okay? I'm not sure if I should take that as a complement or an excuse to beat you up." I said, looking at him like he was crazy. "No. It was totally a complement. All my other friends are so fake you could cut them and they probly wouldn't even bleed. You, you're real. You don't care what people think or who people are. You're just you. I really admire that, Big Willy." He looked over at me again and gave me the most beautiful smile I've ever seen. My heart melted along with every other vital organ in my body at that point. "Wow. I don't know what to say to that." My heart was beating fast. I've got to change the subject. Good, we're here. "Well, we're here. Let's go. I've got some things I want to do and want to show you." We locked his car doors and ran to the doors. For one I was in a hurry, and for two, it was butt-freakin' COLD outside!! We walked through Sears toward the rest of the mall. We walked by the TV's and Stereos and all of a sudden, he was gone. He had bolted for the Entertainment Center. I walked up beside where he was staring blankly into a 53in wide HDTV. I just noticed the first thing we had in common. We were both big Multimedia and Home Entertainment buffs. I LOVE home theatre. The Boom and the subwoofer when a bomb explodes is the best part of any movie. Apparently he thought so too, because he was standing in front of the biggest home theatre system that the consumer could buy. "Lusting, are we?" I said as I saw some drool slip out of his mouth. "Huh?" He said looking up. "You were drooling over this TV, Justin, and don't try to deny it because I saw the droplet of drool fall out of your mouth." I said, looking at him with fake aggravation. "What? It's not like YOU'VE never drooled before." He said, playfully punching me. "Come on, let's get going. I wanna go look for some clothes." I said, dragging him away from all the electronics. We looked around for a while, just walking and talking, joking and goofing off. Then I saw it. The store that I always have to go into. The music shop. "Look!" I said. "I hope you don't mind, but I have GOT to go in that store." "Oh, I don't mind." He said as we walked into the store. I looked around the store for the right piano to sit down at. I walked to the back of the store, but I didn't see anything. I looked over at Justin with disappointment. As I was walking to the front, I noticed a little room to the side of the store. I was curious, so I motioned Justin to follow me. When I peaked in, I saw exactly what I was looking for. "Hmm, I wonder if they'll let me go in there." I mumbled to no one in particular. "Ahem, may I help you?" A voice said behind me said. I turned around to see this huge black man standing behind us. "Uh. um. uh, I was, um, just admiring the uh, that piano, uh, sir." I stammered. "Do you play?" He asked, out of the blue. The question took me by surprise, because I was expecting him to throw us out of the store for snooping. "Yeah, just a little." I said modestly. "Well, what are you waiting for? Go on in and play." He said, smiling widely. Justin and I walked in. It looked kind of like a recording studio, but couldn't be sure. I heard the door shut and looked around. Justin and I were alone. I sat down at the piano bench. Justin leaned against the wall because there were no other seats. "I didn't know you played." Justin said as he looked at me, perplexed. "Yeah, I've been playing for about three years now." "Really? That's cool. So what are you going to play?" "I don't really know." I thought for a minute and decided Chopin's Fantasie-Impromptu would sound awesome in this room. I started playing and looked up just soon enough to see Justin's jaw drop open. I just smiled at him and kept on playing. I really love this song. It's fast paced, and hard as hell to play. When I finished, I looked up to see an astonished look on Justin's face. "Dude that was awesome!!" he said walking over to me. "I'm glad you liked it. It took a long time to learn." I said. I wanted so much to impress him. "How long have you been takin' lessons?" he asked quizzically. "About two and a half years." "Then where the hell did you learn to play like that?" he asked, still gawking at me as if I was some freak of nature. "I've got a good teacher." "Bullshit. That was awesome. It takes real talent to do something like that." He replied. Silence fell and he was looking at me with a sense of pride in his eyes. `I have to break this awkward silence.' "Well Justin, I'm hungry. You want something to eat?" "Um, sure. Where ya wanna go? My treat." "Oh no you don't!" I said as we walked out of the room. "I told you that if you were good, I'd buy you dinner. It's about 2:30, so I figure it's late enough for dinner, since we didn't eat breakfast or lunch. I want something good. Something expensive!" I said in an evil tone. He just laughed at me. "Well, you pick the place, cause I don't want to get blamed for spending your last dime." "How about that big Japanese steak house just down the street?" "That sounds good. I've never eaten there." Justin said as we walked to his car. My last thought before I got in is car was, `this is a good day!' TBC Hope everyone liked it. This is my first attempt at writing a story for Nifty, so I'd appreciate constructive criticism or any feedback at all. There is one more chapter waiting to be sent, but after that, I don't know.
