Chapter One

The first day of school after summer vacation was always the worst. Everyone was so out of the swing of things and no one really wanted to do anything. The teachers were no exception.

I had just raced inside my first class of the day English III. I glanced at the clock on the wall if was four minutes after eight. I had made it with one minute to spare.

I made my way over to a desk between two of my good friends Ginger and Kyle. I really didn't see the point of even sitting down because we all knew that Mrs. Franklin would be changing out seats and putting us where she wanted us.

Mrs. Franklin had been one of the toughest teachers. She had been my English teacher since I started high school two years earlier. It seemed like right when I thought I was going to be free of her she would move to teaching the next grade that I was going into.

I leaned over and whispered to in Ginger's ear. "This just sucks. I hate her class it's so boring."

"The summer wasn't long enough if you ask me." She whispered back.

"Those were some fun times at your house." Kyle said with a big grin on his face. "Well the times I can remember that is."

The bell rang. Mrs. Franklin got up from her desk, walked over to the door and locked it. She turned around and walked over to the podium fixed in the front of the classroom. She looked around the room at each of us.

Her beady little brown eyes looked like they could just burn holes right through someone.

She was somewhat odd if you ask me and everyone else in my class. I looked at what she had on. She was wearing a long dark green skirt, a short sleeved yellow sweater and a pair of Nike shocks with that. She wore a pair of tiny pink wire framed glasses.

"Ok." She finally spoke. "Most of you have had me in class before but first I want to go over my rules that way no one can say they didn't know."

I looked up and saw someone standing at the door through the window on it. I didn't recognize the face. Whoever it was didn't know not to be late for Mrs. Franklin's class.

I raised my hand.

She looked at me with a puzzled look on her face. "What is it Noah?"

"Um, there's a guy at the door, he looks a little lost never seen him before."

She stepped from behind her podium, walked over to the door, opened it and stuck her head out. "May I help you?"

I heard the guy mutter something, but I couldn't understand what he said. He spoke very low.

Mrs. Franklin opened the door wider and motioned for the guy to come into the room.

She closed the door behind making sure it was locked.

"Everyone we have a new student that is going to be joining us this year." She announced as she looked at the guy that had come in the room with her. "This is Connor everyone."

Connor smiled shyly.

I couldn't take my eyes off of him. He was cute. Well he was beyond that he was hot drop dead gorgeous. He had light brown hair that was cut short and spiked up on the top. He had the most piercing green eyes. I could just sit there and stare into them all day. He had on a tight red polo shirt that didn't leave much to the imagination when it came to how well sculpt his upper body was. He had on a pair of somewhat loose fitting jeans.

I felt something hit me on the back of the head. I turned and looked at Kyle.

"Hey now don't drool all over yourself there buddy." Kyle teased.

"Huh?"

"I see how you are checking the new dude out." He teased.

"Yeah right. Me checking a hot guy out."

Mrs. Franklin looked around the room. Her looked stopped when she got to where my two friends and I sat. "Ms. Spice I would you to go sit by Mr. Jones that's going to be your new seat. I am not going to have you three disrupting my class this year. Now Mr. Jacobs you move down a chair and Connor here is going to sit in between you."

I looked at Ginger. "You heard her Ginger Spice get up." I grinned.

She hated being called that. She never could figure out why her parents having, the last name Spice, had to go and name her Ginger.

I looked at her. I could tell that she was disappointed that she had to move. I could see it in her baby blue eyes.

She stood up from her seat and looked at me. "Now don't do anything with hottie that I wouldn't do."

I laughed at her. "Yeah right. I doubt he is even gay."

She picked up her books and walked over to her seat where she would be sitting for the rest of the year.

Ginger was my best girlfriend. She was the first person that I had ever come out to. We had been friends for the longest time and she just started crushing on me. She would flirt with me and finally I couldn't take it anymore. I still remember my words.

"I like boys Gin. I think I am gay. I am sorry I just don't feel those same feeling that you do."

That was two years later when I was believe it or not only fourteen. I knew I was gay at fourteen.

She avoided me for a few days then after that she acted like nothing happened except for the fact that she would try to hook me up with every guy she could think of.

She could have her pick of any guy in the school. She was gorgeous with her deep blue eyes and her honey blond hair.

I turned to my left and looked at Kyle. We exchanged a look with each other just as the new guy came over and sat between us.

"Hi," he said shyly.

"Hey, "I said smiling at him. "I'm Noah" I looked at Kyle. "And that ugly creature there is my sometimes friend Kyle."

Connor grinned at me. He knew that I was joking around and could tell it.

Kyle glared at me. "You are an asshole."

"Ok class listen up." Mrs. Franklin said as she walked back over to her spot behind the podium. "Class starts at 8:05 every morning. No later. The door will be locked at 8:05 and if you are not in here by then you will have some explaining to do to Mr. Shiefly. We have several group projects to work on this year. Take a good look at the person next to you. "She paused as she gave us the time too look at who was sitting next to us. "This will be your group for the rest of the year."

I looked over at Ginger. I could tell by the look on her face that she was going to hate who she was working with.

She was sitting in between Jason Jones and Holly Foster. Jason was really weird. He never talked to anyone he always wanted to be by himself. He always had his brown hair cut into one of those old bowl cuts which no one seemed to wear anymore. He had thick wire framed glasses that covered most of his face. He had gotten contacts and wore them once last year when we were in the tenth grade. Believe it or not he was kinda cute with out the glasses.

Holly was, well there really isn't a nice way to put it. She was a dumb blond that would sleep with anyone with a cock between their legs. She had always had the hots for me but of course she would never get any of me. She always wore some of the shortest skirts and some of the tightest shirts.

"Our first project is going to be over the book "The Glass Menagerie" by Tennessee Williams. I want everyone to work in their group, I want what each one of you think the meaning of the book is, I also want a ten minute power point presentation and a modern day version of the story it will be due at the end of the month. Any questions?"

She looked around the room.

"Get used to it." I said as I leaned over and whispered into Connor's ear. "She says she is preparing us for college. She has been like this since ninth grade."

Connor smiled at me. "Thanks for the warning."

"No problem."

I felt me phone vibrate in my pocket. I looked around to see if Mrs. Franklin was looking at me. She wasn't so I took my phone out of my pocket. I said one new message for Gin

"You think he's hot. Don't ya."

I looked across the room at her and grinned.

"He's not just hot he is fucking hot and I get to sit right next to him." I pressed send and put the phone back in my pocket.

Connor looked at me with a puzzled look on his face. "Dude, you are brave I have known this lady for five minutes and I wouldn't do that."

"What can I saw. I take my chances." I smiled at him.

He smiled back.

Oh my gosh he had the best smile I had ever seen. His teeth were whiter than any I had seen before and they were perfect. I just stared at him.

"What is it?" Connor said rubbing his mouth. "Do I have something on my mouth?"

"Nah. I just zoned out for a minute." I replied.

It seemed like the class was never going to end. Mrs. Franklin just kept going on and on and I just blocking her voice out. Finally the bell rang signaling that class was over. I looked over and saw Connor was about to stand up. I put my hand on his leg and stopped him from standing up.

He looked at me with a puzzled look on his face.

"Just because the bell rang doesn't mean class is over. She has to dismiss you." I whispered to him.

"Awh thanks for telling me."

"Ok class on your way out the door I want you to stop by my desk, there are two boxes one with the book we will be reading in it the other with your class syllabus in it. Get your own I will not hand them out I am not your mother."

With those final words, she walked over to her desk and sat down.

Kyle and myself both stood up at the same time. Connor just sat there.

"You can get up now." Kyle told him.

Connor looked up and saw that everyone was filing out of the room.

"What class do you have next?" I asked him.

He reached into his pocket, pulled out a folded up piece of paper and handed it to me. I unfolded it and looked at his schedule:

English III 8:05-8:55 Franklin, Muri

Advanced Bio 9:00-9:50 Sharp, Ryan

Multimedia II 9:55-10:45 Barnes, Kristi

Study Hall 10:50-11:40 Neal, Jessica

Algebra II 12:30-1:20 Jensen, Ashley

"Well, can't believe it yours is the exact same as mine except for fourth hour you have study hall and I have PE. We even have the same electives." I looked at him. "How'd you manage to get out of PE anyhow? Everyone has to take that or athletics their junior year."

"I um took it at my old school." He replied.

"I can show you around if you want." I offered.

"That's be cool."

We walked over to Mrs. Franklin's desk and each picked up a copy of the book and syllabus. Kyle turned and headed towards the opposite end of the hallway. This was our only class together.

"See ya at lunch buddy." I heard him shout as he walked down the hall.

"You wana eat lunch with me and my friends?" I asked Connor.

"Yeah sure. That's be cool."

We continued to walk down the hallway until we got in front of the biology lab.

"Hey thanks for showing me around and stuff Noah." Connor told me. "I didn't get to go to the orientation during the summer. I had some family stuff to take care of."

"Hey no problemo. I like making new friends anyhow."

He looked at me and smiled.

"Well lets get to class new friend before we are both late on our first day."

I nodded my head. We walked into the classroom and sat down at one of the tables. I suppose we would be lab partners.

"Here there handsome." I heard someone say as I felt a hand on my shoulder.

I turned around an and my friend Amy was standing behind me. We hadn't seen each other all summer because she went out of the country for the summer.

"Hey there beautiful." I said with a big grin on my face

"Looks like you ditched me for a new lab partner. Who's your little b-"

I interrupted her because I knew what she was going to say.

"Connor this is my friend Amy. Amy this is Connor and he is new here."

Connor stuck out his hand. "Nice to meet you Amy."

"Like wise." Amy said as she took Connor's hand and shook it.

"You seem to know everyone." Connor said. "Are you one of the popular kids?"

"Nah not me. I just like everyone and most everyone likes me except for a few people."

I was somewhat popular. I was friends with almost everyone people both younger and older. I didn't play any sports or anything. I was more on the preppy side. I was class president of my class which I was voted the end of my sophomore year. Funny thing about that I didn't even run. Everyone just wrote my name down on the ballet.

I was very out going always had been. I had several parties at my house during the summer open invitation for everyone. There would usually be a lot of people at them. We would all get a little tipsy. Well maybe I am just fabricating the truth a little we would all get shut faced drunk and it would be a blast.

My parents were pretty cool too. They knew about the partying but they didn't know that there was any alcohol involved. They would be upstairs and we would be all down in the basement.

I loved that about my house. It was three storied if you count the basement. The living room, my parents master bedroom, the kitchen, den, half bath and dining room were all on the first floor and my room, my sisters, and my brothers were all on the second floor with a full sized bath which was mine and a half bath that my brother and sister had to share.

One thing I love about my mom and dad are that they are both two of the most liberal people that you could ever meet. Dad was a CFO and my mom was the nurse clinical manager at the same hospital.

The one thing that I can remember the most was how supportive they were of me when I came out to them. Well I actually didn't have to come out to them. Let me just tell you the whole story of my coming out to my parents.

I walked into the kitchen after getting out of school for Christmas break during my freshman year of high school. My parents were both sitting at the kitchen table waiting for me. I looked at the clock and saw what time it was then looked at my parents. Neither one of them were ever home this early.

"What are you guys doing home so early?" I asked.

"We just wanted to spend some time with you Noah. Your brother and your sister are both at friend's house so your mom and I are going to take you out to dinner tonight."

I sat my back pack down on the kitchen counter and walked over to the refridge and got some juice out.

"So what's the occasion?" I asked as I took the lid off the orange juice and drank straight from the jug.

I could see my mom glaring at me out of the corner of my eye. She hated when I drank out of the jug.

"Just to say we love you no matter what." My dad replied.

"I know you guys love me, so why are you acting all weird?"

My mom and dad looked at each other, then my mom nodded her head. You could tell that my parents loved each other they were the only couple that I had ever seen that could just look at each other and know what the other was thinking.

"Why don't you come have a seat Noah?" My mom asked as she pulled out a chair from the kitchen table.

"Ok." I said with a puzzled look on my face and put the orange juice back in the refridge.

"Did you know your cousin Jeff is gay?" Dad asked. "He told your aunt and uncle a few months ago. They were shocked at first because they had no idea because of how masculine he is. Well they were very accepting of him ya know. He and his boyfriend are part of the family your Aunt Misty says."

"That's great dad, but do you think Jeff would appreciate you outing him to everyone?"

"Your father and I both work with several gay people." My mom stated.

"I know mom."

"What we are trying to say is that we are very accepting parents and will love you no matter what." My mom said.

I looked at her and my dad. They had very serious looks on their faces.

"Long story short." My dad said. "We know you are gay Noah and we are perfectly fine with it."

"What!" I exclaimed.

"We love you Noah. We just want you to be happy."

"How- How did you know?" I asked.

Was it that obvious that I was gay?

"We just noticed how you act every time you are around a cute guy." My mom said. "You can dress better than your sister and me."

I laughed at that one. I did have a pretty good fashion sense.

"You remember when the computer messed up and we had to get it fixed a few weeks ago?" My dad asked.

"Um yeah I guess."

"Well when they were fixing it they found a whole bunch of gay porn on it. That was when we were sure that you were gay. We just didn't know how to talk to you. We just want you to know that we love you son and that nothing is going to change."

I felt tears began to stream down my face because I was happy. I was happy because out of all the people to know that I was gay, my parents were ok with it. What had I been so scared of. I knew how they felt about gay people. They both had tons of gay friends.

My dad smiled. "Now just because you like boys doesn't mean you can invite your boyfriend over and sleep in the same bad. It would be the same as if your sister had a boyfriend."

I wiped my tears. "I don't have a boyfriend dad."

Well after my parents found out that I was gay, I started telling my closest friends, starting with Kyle and Gin. They said it wasn't a big deal that they would be my friends no matter what.

Towards the end of my sophomore year, I just started feeling really comfortable with my self. I didn't really care who knew that I was gay. Most everyone remained my friends except for Damien who said he didn't think he could be friends with a fag. We haven't talked to each other since the tenth grade.

To this day I still have not had a boyfriend. I did have my first kiss with a guy last year. It was awkward though seeing how it was Kyle. He thought that he may be gay so we kissed. He said he felt nothing and that was that. We still joke about it from time to time.

The next two class periods went by fairly fast. In Multimedia we just talked about what we would be doing that year and her expectations for us. In PE we were just assigned lockers and given a schedule of our weekly activities and then let out early for lunch.

I went to our usually table and sat down. I really wasn't very hungry. The cafeteria food just wasn't that appetizing to me.

Finally a little while after the bell had rung, Kyle and Gin came over and sat down. They both had brought their lunch because they knew what the cafeteria food tasted like.

I kept looking around the cafeteria for any sign of Connor.

"You waiting for someone bud?" Kyle asked through a mouthful of his sandwich.

"Um yeah, the new guy Connor is supposed to be sitting with us at lunch."

"So we gona have a back to school party at your house this weekend?" I heard someone say from behind me.

I turned around to see my friend James walking over to our table. He sat his tray down on the table next to me.

"Um yeah I suppose." I said still looking around the cafeteria for Connor.

"What you looking for?" James asked as he took a bite of his soy burger.

Ginger grinned. "More like who is he looking for."

"You got the got the hots for some sexy stud?" James asked.

"Maybe."

"Well he's right next to ya." James joked.

"Real funny James."

Just then I saw him coming out of the kitchen with his tray. He was looking around the cafeteria. Hopefully he was looking for me.

I stood up from my seat. "Connor! Over here" I started waving my hands frantically to get his attention.

He turned and looked at our table. He smiled as he made his way across the cafeteria. I motioned for him to sit in the chair to my left that I had been saving for him.

"Thought you got lost there for a minute." I commented.

"Well, I sorta did." He said half embarrassed. "This school is bigger than I thought."

"Hey everyone, this is Connor if you hadn't already met." I announced to everyone that was at our table. I began to go around the table introducing him. "Connor this is James, then Jesse, Heather, Josh and you already met Kyle and Ginger."

"Nice to meet you guys." He said.

"I can't believe you can eat that stuff." I said motioning at his food. "Those burgers taste like crap. You can taste the soy in them."

"Gotta get big and strong ya know." He joked.

"You already look big and strong." I commented.

"Um thanks I guess." He said.

"So why'd you'd move to Pottsville of all places?" I asked.

"I had some problems at my old school." He said. "I just had to get away get a new start ya know."

"Yeah. I understand that."

"So I am having a back to school this Friday and everyone is invited. You gona come?" I asked him.

"At your house?" He asked.

"Yeah we have them all the time down in my basement. My parents are pretty cool."

"Sounds like fun." He said.

"I wouldn't go if I were you." I heard someone sneer from behind me.

I turned around and looked up at Damien.

"Go away shit breath!" I shouted.

"Haha funny hearing you say that since you are the one that likes—"

Before he could finish what he was saying, James got up from his chair and grabbed Damien by the collar of his shirt.

James was pretty tall and well built. He was about six foot two and a big muscular build. He was the captain of the wrestling team. He had been on it since middle school.

"Lay the fuck off him Damien or you are gona have me to answer to!" James shouted as he raised his fist up.

"I should have known you would take his side."

James released his shirt. "I don't wana hurt you Damien. We all used to be friends." He turned around and looked at all of us. "So just back the fuck off." He turned back around and shoved his hands into Damien's chest. He fell down on the floor.

James sat back down next to me like nothing ever happened. "That dude has some nerve."

"Thanks for sticking up for me. You didn't have to do that you know."

"What are friends for?" James asked.

I looked around the table at each one of my friends. Sure, I had lost of friends lots of people that were still my friends after I came out to them, but these people sitting at this table were my best friends.

"So you gona come to my party?" I asked Connor again.

"Yeah I'll be there. Sounds like fun."

"Cool. I will give you my address when we get to class so I can write it down."

The rest of the week went by pretty fast. Since we had started school on a Wednesday, there were only two days until my party. Kyle and Ginger had both come over early to help me set up the basement.

After we had gotten everything set up the way we wanted it we went up stairs to change our clothes. Ginger changed in the guest bedroom because she said she didn't really feel comfortable changing in front of us even if one of us were gay.

"I'm excited?" I asked Kyle as I took off my shirt and tossed it in a pile of clothes by my closet.

"Hmm I wonder why?" He asked as he reached into his bag sitting on my bed and got a shirt out. "Could it have anything to do with the guy coming tonight that you have been talking about all week."

I grinned. "Oh maybe." I unbuttoned my pants and tossed them in the pile of clothes.

I walked over to my bathroom door and open it. I stare at myself in the mirror for a minute.

"Don't look into it too long, you might break it." Kyle joked.

I liked the way I looked. I was by far ugly. I had short blond hair and green eyes that complimented my face perfectly. I was five eleven and a little more than average build. I worked out ever Wednesday so I am sure if I wanted I could have a drop dead body if I worked out more.

I looked at Kyle. He was taking his pants off.

"You are the best friend any one could ever ask for Kyle."

"What you talking `bout?" He asked as he finished taking his pants off.

"Look at you." I said. "I am gay and you are my best friend. You still feel comfortable enough around me to take your clothes off in front of me even though you know it could turn me on."

"I wouldn't care anyhow." He walked over and stood in front of me. "So do I turn you on?" He grinned.

"I don't think of you like that Kyle. You are my best friend."

He rubbed his hand across my chest. "You remember when we kissed last year?"

"Um yeah I guess."

"Did you like it?"

"It was alright I guess." I replied.

He glared at me. "Just alright?"

I nodded my head.

He grabbed my neck and looked into my eyes. He slowly brought his lips closer to mine and kissed me. I could feel him rubbing his tongue against my lips so I opened and let him in. He began to explore my mouth with his tongue.

I could feel the bulge in my underwear getting bigger as he kissed me. He pulled away and looked at me.

"Was that better?" He asked with a big grin on his face.

"I guess." I replied.

"You guess my ass." He said. "By the looks of your underwear you really liked it."

"Shut up." I said.

Someone knocked on my door.

"What?" I asked to the person on the other side of the door.

"One of your guest is here. Is it ok if he comes up?" My sister Angie said from the other side of the door.

"Yeah go ahead and send him up." I looked at Kyle. "Hurry up and get dressed" I whispered.

The door opened before we had a chance to get out clothes on. Angie stood there with the biggest grin on her face. Connor stood next to her.

He had on a pair of jeans and a tight form fitting polo shirt.

Angie pushed him inside my room. "I will leave you boys alone so you can play."

She turned around and closed the door. I could hear her burst out into laughter as she walked down the hall.

"What was that all about?" Connor asked.

"That's my sister for ya." I told him. "We were just changing clothes because we got dirty while setting up for the party.."

"That's cool." He said as he walked over to my bed and say down. "Thanks for inviting me. I was afraid that I wasn't going to make new friends my last school kinda sucked."

"No problem. I am sure everyone will like you." I told him as I pulled a shirt on over my head.

"Hope you didn't mind me coming so early. I just knew that I wouldn't know anyone so I didn't wana be just there ya know."

"Ah its cool. I am just glad you came." I said as I pulled my legs through my pants.

"So you like Pottsville High so far?" Kyle asked as he tied his shoes.

"Yeah it seems like everyone is pretty cool there. They all seem to be pretty accepting of people's differences." He told us.

"What you mean?" I asked him.

"I just I mean I think its awesome how everyone accepts you guys for being gay and being boyfriends." Connor stated.

Kyle looked at Connor. "Hold your horses the bud. I'm not gay. Everyone thinks there's something going on between us but I am straight as they come." He looked at me and we both laughed. "Why can't a gay guy and straight guy just be friends without everyone thinking they are dating."

I knew that was a lie. If he was as straight as they come then he wouldn't have just tried to suck my tongue out of my mouth.

"Well lets head to the basement and get this part started." I demanded playfully.

The party was pretty fun. James had supplied us with the alcohol by means of his older brother. I was at the point where I was buzzed but I was still coherent enough to know what was going on around.

I realized that I hadn't seen Connor in a little while. I started looking around for him. No sign of him anywhere down there. I noticed the door to the tiny bathroom in the corner was closed so I walked over to it and knocked. There was no answer.

I turned the doorknob and slowly pushed the door open. I glanced inside and could see someone crouched over the toilet. It was no doubt Connor.

I walked in and closed the door behind me.

"Connor, you okay bud?" I asked.

He raised his head up and looked at me.

"Where'd you come from?" He asked.

"I was looking for you. Thought maybe you had left without telling me by." I walked over to him and placed my hand on his shoulder. "You okay."

"Yeah just never drank before. I really don't feel to good."

"Lets get you upstairs and you can lay down." I suggested.

I grabbed his hand and helped him up. I led him up the stairs to the first floor and then up some more stairs until we were on the second floor where my room was at. I opened the door and led him over to my bed.

"Lay down. You might feel better."

He obediently laid down on my bed.

"Here let me make you comfortable." I walked over to his feet and began to untie his shoes.

He jerked his foot away from me.

"No. Don't I don't like taking my shoes off."

"I was just trying to make you comfy."

"I'm sorry I just really really hate my ugly ass feet." He told me.

"I'm sorry." I told him.

"Don't be." He looked up at me. "Has anyone ever told you that you have such pretty pretty green eyes?"

I sat down next to him on my bed. I smiled at him.

He wrapped his arms around my neck and pulled me down so that I was so close I could feel is nose touching mine. He leaned forward, pressing his lips softly against mine.

To be continued...
