Chapter 6 -- "Probably not going to do this anymore."

Tim walked inside his house and kicked off his shoes. He skimmed through the mail and then to his room. He took off his backpack and tossed it on his bed and walked to the mirror. He stared at himself, processing thousands of thoughts that were going through his mind when the sound of a telephone ringing brought him stole his attention. He walked over to his desk and picked up the receiver.

"Hello?"

"Tim?" came the reply.

"Yeah, this is Tim. Can I help you?"

"Hey, it's Alex."

"Oh, hey Alex, what's goin' on?" A smile spread across Tim's face.

"Not much." Alex continued, "I'm sorry, but I'm not going to be able to go out with you guys tonight. My girlfriend has to go away for the weekend and I told her I would spend time with her before she left. I'm really sorry, man."

Tim's smile was gone. He tried to keep an even tone with his response. "Your girlfriend?"

"Yeah. She goes to Springhill Academy. It really sucks, but her parent's think she'll get a better education."

"Yeah...sucks," Tim said. "Maybe some other time then?"

"Sure. Listen i gotta run, but I'll see ya in school on Monday. Tell Rick for me, yeah?"

"No problem. See you on Monday." Tim hung up the phone. He felt like and idiot. He started to get angry. It was irrational and he knew it, but he couldn't help it. It was Alex's fault, anyway, wasn't it? It wasn't fair. He made him feel things...things he didn't want to feel. He made him confront the possibility of being gay, and for what? For nothing. He felt betrayed and used and stupid. And the worst part was, he didn't know why.

Yep, it's short. I'm not a writer, sorry.

I just want to edit. And don't judge my editing abilities on my own work, because it's very hard to edit work you've written yourself.
