Mason and I have only been dating for a little over a week, but it's been the best little over a week in my entire life. Macy was the first of my friends to come back, she came back two days after Christmas. The four of us; me, Mason, Macy, and Brennan; hung out a lot for those next few days. Macy was so happy for us when we told her the good news. Before that, Brennan and Macy never really got to know each other before then but were now becoming best friends. The next to return were Emma, Daniel, and Kurt. Emma and Kurt were happy for me, Emma went on about her new man too, which we were all happy she found, the only one to so far not be completely happy for me was Daniel, which I think everyone expected. Daniel started bringing Kasey around more often, for obvious reasons, and we easily adjusted to him being around. Kasey never really became a key member of the group, like Brennan and Mason, but it was nice having him around. It surprised him that Brennan and I "broke up" and that I was now dating Mason, Mason isn't ready to come out at school, but he's okay with people close to him and close to my friends knowing. Finally, there was Lizzie. I think out of all my friends, she was the happiest. Thankfully when we told her we were at my place. She was screaming and jumping and all that super girly things do, it looked like was just won the showcase on the Price is Right. Right now I was sitting in the living room waiting for Mason to come pick me up. Megan had left a bit ago, she was going to meet up with her new boyfriend, he was a lot nicer than Jordan. Mason told me he'd be here about thirty minutes ago so we'd be able to go out and get some breakfast. Megan even offered to take me to school, but I told her Mason was going to pick me up and she left. Mason finally got there, but to my surprise, Tyler was in the passenger side seat. I wanted to sit up front with Mason, but I didn't want to look like an asshole, Tyler is his best friend after all. I climbed into the backseat and said my "hellos." I was pissed at the both of them. Mason not only was late, but ruined my chances of having some alone time before we were forced to become "friends" again. "I told you he wouldn't say anything." Tyler said to Mason. Tyler grabbed his things and got out of the car, leaving the door open. "What?" I asked. "Tyler and I were betting on whether or not you would ask him to move to the back, I thought you would and he thought you wouldn't. Now get up here, I wanna hold your hand as we ride down the road." Mason said that last sentence with his famous smile. As I got out of the car, Tyler patted me on the back an apologized for sitting up front. I forgave the two of them, in my head obviously, they didn't know I was actually pissed at them. I sat in the front seat and the first thing Mason did was lean over and kiss me. "I love you so much." He told me. "I love you too." "Sorry I was late. Tyler missed the bus and I had to pick him up. I would have texted you but I forgot my phone." "Tyler ha a phone doesn't he?" I asked. "Yeah but I don't have your number." Tyler stated. "Don't you remember my number?" I asked Mason. "I really don't want to argue right now. Can I just apologize and move on?" Mason asked. "It's okay." I said. I was still kinda pissed. I mean, Tyler was interrupting on my private time with Mason. We got to school and headed to the gym, there was a pep rally for the beginning of the new semester. Tyler and Mason had to go sit with the football team, Kurt had to go sit with the basketball team, and Brennan and Kasey had to sit with the cheer team, so it was me, Macy, Lizzie, and Daniel sitting together. "How are you and the man?" Lizzie asked me. "It's all good. Kinda pissed at him though." "Why?" Macy asked, Daniel was on the other end and smiling to himself. "We were supposed to have breakfast together to celebrate our first day back, but he ended up picking Tyler up and was thirty minutes late so we couldn't go eat and now I'm hungry." "I'm sorry sweetie." Macy said as she rested her head on my shoulder. "I'm not like breaking-up pissed though. I still love him. I'm just disappointed that I can't be with him." "Eagles! Let me hear you shout! We're halfway done with school!" The principal shouted into his microphone. Everyone shouted. I looked down to see Mason and the other football players hollering and goofing around, he is so fucking adorable. He looked up here and out of all the people, I knew he saw me because he flashed that smile I love so much. "I'm proud to say that I love being the principal here! How many other schools can give you the best football team in the state, one of the best basketball teams in the state, a nationally ranked choir, and ivy-league-ready students? This pep-rally is going to stay short because I know you all are dying to go to class, but we do have our cheerleaders today and they are ready to pump some school spirit into you all!" All the cheerleaders filed out with their fake smiles on and their hair neatly done. Out of the girls I noticed Isabella, Lily, and Hailie and out of the guys I noticed Kasey and Brennan, there were about twenty other kids out there but I didn't care about any of them, I really didn't care for Isabella or Kasey either but I knew who they were. They did one of their stupid cheers, I shouldn't say that because one of my close friends is a cheerleader, but the cheers really are stupid, there is a reason why the principal didn't mention them in how great our school was. When they did their last cheer, you could tell it was the end because they end with the same cheer no matter what, everyone stood up and clapped, I think it was because the cheering was finally over. As the principal came back out onto the floor, something happened. Isabella grabbed the mic from the principal and yelled, "I'm pregnant and Mason Glover is my baby's father! When I told him, he refused to step up and help me take care of it!" The principal snatched the mic back from here, but he didn't say a thing. Nobody said a thing. The whole gymnasium was quiet. Everyone was in shock. I looked over at Mason, he looked as shocked as everyone else. Suddenly the whole school broke out into whispers. "Okay everyone! Please be quiet! We're about to dismiss. I hope you all have a great day!" The principal then just walked off. The cheerleaders huddled around Isabella and she started telling them all the juicy details, I suppose, and all the football players huddled around Mason to ask what it was like, I again suppose. I kept looking back and forth between the two herds. I couldn't believe what I just heard. There were people getting up on all sides of me and making so much noise, but I just sat there in the trance. I didn't come out of it 'til Macy shook me out of it. "Spencer! Are you okay?" "I...I don't know." "You know you can't listen to her. She has to be lying." "I know...I just...I don't know." Megan then came from I don't know where and crouched down in front of me. "Are you okay, buddy?" "Did he really sleep with her?" I said, mostly to myself. "We all know Mason wouldn't lie to you about that, Spencer." Megan told me. "You would have been the first person he came to outside his family to talk about this." Soon the majority of my friends were up there, only about half the students left, there was supposed to be another thirty minutes of the pep rally so they just went to do whatever. Brennan, Kasey, Hailie, Lily, and Kurt were all up there soon, Mason and Tyler were still with the other football players. Even though they were all there and trying to comfort me, I was still motionless, I didn't know if I was scared or mad or upset or sad or what. All I knew was that Isabella is pregnant and Mason may be the father of the bitch's baby. "Hey guys, I'm going to take Spencer home. I know you all want to see him but you need to stay in school. He's in no form to stay here." Megan said. Most tried arguing with her, but she just gave them the death stare as she helped me up. "It's gonna be okay, I'm going to get Mason to come over and explain everything. I'm sure Isabella is just trying to fuck everything up like always." As Megan escorted me out of the door, Tyler and Mason ran up to us. "Listen Spencer, I ne-" Mason started to say before Megan interrupted. "I know you want to help him but the best thing for you to do right now is to back off. He's heard enough about this shit and I would like it if you dropped it for now. Come by after school and I MAY let you talk to him, depending on how he feels." Compared to the old Megan who hated me when I first came out, this Megan was a mother to me. "Fine. I love you, Spencer. Please don't forget that." At the time I really didn't understand how drastic it was for him to say that, but later on in the day I realized he said that in front of anyone who happened to walk by, I'm sure the rumors would expand even more if some people just caught a small fraction of what was being said. Megan took me out to her car and drove me home, there was no point in checking me out since I technically wasn't in school until after I checked in for first period. Mom was sitting on the couch and walking some talk show, she was shocked to see us come in. She tried asking questions but Megan and I brushed her off as Megan took me up to my room. If Megan didn't force me to move, I wouldn't have. I would have stood wherever she left me and contemplated what had just gone on in the gym. Megan kissed me on my forehead as she laid me down on the bed and went back downstairs to talk to Mom. I didn't hear most of the conversation, but Mom wasn't mad in the least bit, I even heard her tell Megan she loved her for what she did for me. After their talk, I heard the door open and shut again, I guessed that Megan left to return to school. Around noon, my mom brought me up a bowl of soup. For the first time that day, I moved on my own, I sat up and ate the soup. Mom sat right beside me in case I randomly started to talk or cry. When I was finished, she took the bowl, kissed me, told me she loved me, and left. Honestly she is the best mom in the world. Her philosophy is that if we ever need her, we'll get her, so she let me work things out on my own until I realized I couldn't, and for me that moment was around two thirty when I broke down crying. I was just lying in my bed when it hit me, my boyfriend was a father. My mom was in my room in less than thirty seconds holding me as I cried. I tried explaining everything to her, but most of what I was saying were untranslatable sobs. She held me and patted my back, telling me everything would be okay. Of course I didn't believe her, I thought my whole life was ruined, but it made me feel better to hear her tell me everything would be okay. "If you really loved me he would have told me." I told her once I had finally calmed down enough to talk. "Just wait and let him explain his side of the story. All you've heard is Isabella's and we all know you can't trust that bitch." My mom rarely cussed, so of course this made me giggle a little bit. "WHat if he is the baby's daddy and want to raise the child with her? He's told me about how he hates his father for leaving his mother when he found out she was pregnant, he wouldn't do the same." "Like I said sweetie, let him tell you his side of the story. It may not even be his child. And if it is, I'm sure he'll still stay with you. The only thing I don't like about that situation is that my baby will be a step-daddy and I'll become a grandma before I hit forty." I laughed that time. "At least you wouldn't have to worry about me not giving you kids." "I know you would no matter what sweetie. I see you and Mason adopting when the time comes for you two to get married and raise a family." "Mooom. Stop. That just makes things awkward for me when I'm around him. Things are already going to be awkward." "You'll get past it, sweetie. You're strong." SHe kissed me on the forehead. "I love you so much." "I love you too." "Now will you please come help me finish dinner? From what your sister told me, Mason will be here about two minutes after school ends to kiss you and tell you the truth." She smiled. I smiled. We went downstairs and I helped her re-start dinner, when she heard me crying she literally dropped the pot of potatoes she was dicing, turned off all the burners and the oven, and ran up to me. Most of the food was disgusting now, the potatoes were already mashed into the floor from where the pot and my mom's feet smashed them. We cleaned up the mess and began to make spaghetti instead. The whole time we worked together, Mom didn't bring up Mason's name once. I think she was trying to get me into a better mood so I wouldn't breakdown at the sight of him. She wanted to know about Austin and how Macy Kurt were doing and other things that Mason was not involved in whatsoever. Just as the clock struck three, five minutes after school lets out, the front door flew open and there was Mason. "Spencer! Where are you!?" In took all the courage and strength inside me to yell back, "I'm in the kitchen." Mason turned and saw I wasn't too far from him. He quickly paced over and pulled me in for a long, passionate kiss, I wanted to be mad and wait `til after he explained everything before we kissed, but I couldn't resist. Our lips then separated and he held me tightly, I could feel the tears falling from his eyes onto my shoulders. "I love you so much Spencer. I would never ever keep a secret like this from you. She's making the whole thing up. I've only ever been with one person before and it wasn't her. It was at my old school and it's that friend I was telling you about a while back. I have only felt like being with someone like with one person since I've moved here and that's you." "Mason...my-" "Please don't leave me, Spencer. I don't know if I could handle it. You're just...everything to me. Please." "Mason! My mom is right there..." Mason slowly let go and looked over at my mom, who was blushing and silently working on the food. Mason blushed as well, feeling like a complete idiot for saying he wanted to have sex with me in front of my mom. "I'm so sorry for barging in the way I did Ms. McAlister." Mason turned to me, "Could we go up to your room?" I shook my head. We went up to my room, Mason held onto my hand tight. When we got up there, Mason sat down on my bed. "I promise you, I would never keep a secret this big from you. Isabella and I have never had sex." "Then why would she tell the whole school you are her baby's father?" "So she could get back at me. Remember on Halloween, I exposed her for the whore she really is. She's the kind of person who'd do anything to make sure my life was a living hell." "Could the baby be Jordan's?" I knew that Isabella and Jordan had been fooling around for a while, but I didn't know if they had been fooling around recently enough for Isabella to get pregnant. "Possibly. But she has slept with a lot of dudes, and I'm sure after Halloween a lot more guys were willing to fool around with her." "I hate that she would do that to you." I knew it was too soon to really trust Mason because no one, beside Isabella, really knows what is going on, but Mason is Mason and he's never done anything to show me he's not trustworthy. "I don't know, but will you stay by my side, even if someone it ends up being mine? Who knows, maybe she took some DNA and found some way to get herself knocked up with it." "I'm not sure, Mason. I'm only a freshman and I wouldn't be ready to step up and be the baby's `second dad' if it is yours. But I do know that I would never break up with you over it, you'd just have to find a way to balance our love life and taking care of your child without mixing the two up until I'm ready. How I feel may change in the future, but we've only been an actual couple for about two weeks so I don't really know where I stand with that right now." "It's okay. I understand. Do you think your mom is going to tell my parents about me wanting to...ya know...with you?" I somewhat laughed. "Mason, I think you should worry about how I feel before you worry about that." "You know I worry about how you feel. I just, don't you EVER feel like you have to do anything to please me, I may think I'm ready to move out relationship to another level already, but I'm perfectly fine where I am right now as long as you are. God I'm such a failure." "No you're not. And thank you for respecting how I feel. I'm not ready right now though." Mason smiled. "Okay, so now can I worry about if your mom will tell my parents? I'm not ready to have my mom and dad sit me down and have the gay sex talk with me, we already had the straight one a few years ago." "I think she'll keep quiet for now, but I'd be careful, she may want to sit you down herself and have the gay sex talk with you." "Your mom is awesome though so it wouldn't be as awkward. And again, I just want to let you know that I love you and that the baby Isabella is carrying is not mine." "I get the picture, babe. The spaghetti should be done soon and you're staying for dinner so I hope you're hungry." "I couldn't eat all day knowing you were here alone and thinking that you would break up with me because of this. I hope you felt the same." "Well actually..." I started to say, but before I could finish, Mason grabbed me and pulled me down onto the bed. We started to wrestle, he wasn't putting up a real fight, but I was still struggling. I finally "let" him pin me. He was on all fours above me and I was laying flat out. He was holding down my wrists and his knees were on both sides of my hips. I could hear him breathing heavily. I was so tempted to say "I'm ready," but that's when Megan opened the door. "The food is re-" Megan then stopped, rolled her eyes, and turned around to leave. Mason got off of me and straightened his clothes out. "Great, your mother knows I want to be with you and your sister thinks that I was just about to be with you. Your family probably thinks I'm a sex fiend." I laughed. "You're a sexy fiend. Now come on, I'm hungry." "For what?" Mason said sexually. I threw my pillow at him and got off my bed. We then proceeded from my room back to the kitchen where Mom and Megan were setting the table. "Just to let you know, Megan, the baby isn't Isabella's. She was making that all up." "Mom told me." she replied. With Mason on one side of the table and Megan on the other, it was a very awkward meal. I could tell Megan hated Mason right now. I don't know why though because he hasn't done anything. Maybe it's because the possibility he had sex with her arch nemesis is still on the table, even though I don't believe that ever happened. When the food was gone and there was nothing else left for my mom to gibber gabber about, Megan helped Mom do the dishes as Mason and I left, he wanted me with him when he told his parents about what was going on, my mom was completely okay with me going, I was surprised she allowed me to be alone after what Mason said. Mason's parents took the news very easily, like me, they believed Mason when he said he wasn't the father. Mason's mom was very emotional while Mason sat and talked to them about what was going on. After everything was said about the Isabella thing, Mason's mom made sure to bring up that if he ever did have sex with a girl and she thought it was his, he has to step up and help her even if he doesn't like her until he knows if the baby is his or not. "Mom, you know I would never leave a girl if she told me she was pregnant and there was the possibility the child was mine. If things didn't work out I would still make sure she was taken care of, I may be dad's child but I'm nothin like him." The two of them then hugged. I know it was emotional for Mason's step-dad, but this mainly considered Mason and his mother since they were the ones who were abandoned. Mason and I stayed over at his place for a while, but soon Mason packed his stuff and we went back to my place, he wanted to stay with me that night. Again, to my surprise, my mom was completely okay with letting Mason sleep over in my room with the door closed. I wanted to ask her if she was sick or something, but my mom knows what she's doing and apparently trusts me and Mason, she never let Jordan stay over even though he told her he'd never have sex with Megan, they never did by the way, Megan isn't easy. Mason and I got ready for bed and got straight in, it was around eleven when we got to my place, Mason wanted to take me out for a milkshake to make up for that morning when he was late. When I opened my nightstand drawer to get out my glasses case, I found why my mom was okay with Mason staying over, there was a box of condoms in the drawer and a sticky note attached; "Use safety," were the only words on there. When I showed it to Mason, he asked if there was an lube, and to my surprise there was a bottle in there with yet another sticky note; "extra safety." - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Every time I read a story of Nifty, I never read the top part, so just in case you are like me and only read the bottom portion if you liked the story, here is my email again: wah.stories@yahoo.com.
