By the way, I am a sophomore at Columbia High. I am fifteen years old. I am 5' 7" with hazel green eyes, curly blue hair, a bronze tan, and a lean build. Yeah, that's right, I said blue. So, now that you have a mental picture of me, on with the story. Its the first day of school. I grab my bookbag, my ID, and my saxophone and head out the door towards my car. It isn't anything special, just and old Dodge Spirit with hella good gas mileage. I load up and head for school and wave to my mom on the way out. I pull up in the parking lot by the band hall and grab my schedule off of a table on the breezeway. Exactly what I expected: Band, Algebra II, AP World History, Comp Health, Chemistry, and English II. I thought it would just be another normal year. Girls hitting on me and everyone wondering why I turned them all down. A year of listening to my guy friends talk about how hot such and such girl is, while I secretly had no idea what they were talking about. More sneaking glances at guys and having no one to talk to. Well, back to the story. Everything's pretty normal until fourth block (Comp Health, for those of you who don't listen). Coach Woody teaches Health, and he doesn't really care what you do or talk about. Fun class. I walk in and pick a desk with a bent back so I can lay back in my chair. Nick is sitting to my right, and an asian girl and a petite framed, red-haired girl are sitting to my left. Crystal and Courtney are in the front right hand corner of the room. Joshodrick sat two seats ahead of me. A slender framed and build boy with long cut black hair and beautiful blue eyes came in and sat in the desk behind me. He was the person I gave a second glance. There was something special about him. I couldn't put a finger on exactly what it was, though. Coach Woody comes into the room and calls role. I find out that the red-haired girl's name is Brittany, the asian girl's name is Ling, and the boy with black hair's name is Wyatt. I LOVE that name. I know Nick pretty well and he seems to know Wyatt pretty well, so I turn and start talking to Nick, hoping to get to know the new guy. "What's up, Nick?", I ask, with a grin on my face. "Nothin' much, but summer was awesome. Hey, you haven't met Wyatt yet, huh?". "Well, guess I just did. What's goin' on, Wyatt? My name's James." Wyatt smiles (perfect teeth) and says,"Nice to meet you". He puts out a hand for me to shake. His touch is electric, I almost gasp! Nick gives me an odd look, so I change the subject. "So, at least this is sex ed, not too boring", I say. I'm really good at pretending I'm not gay around other guys. I'm a good actor, what can I say? Nick laughs and Wyatt smiles at me. "All right, we're going to start the first unit: drugs", says Coach Woody, breaking up our conversation. Damn him. "Well, this is right up you're alley", looking at me and Wyatt. I smoke weed. Hey, I never said I was politically correct. I don't ask, but I have a sneaky suspicion Wyatt smokes too. We got down to business and did a studyguide of the chapter. I'm a bit of a know-it-all, but I don't rub it in people's faces. I had an IQ of one-sixty-something when I was five years old, so by test standards I'm a certified genius. So, I didn't even have to crack a book to do my studyguide. I also inadvertently amazed Nick by pointin out what I thought were obvious flaws in the studyguide's information. "LSD can't kill you, its the stupid shit people do on LSD that kills 'em", I say with a bit of a sneer. Wyatt impressed the hell out of me by elaborating what I said. "The dose it takes to fuck you up is 10-50 microliters. A case was documented in which a man took 40,000 microliters and lived. Its almost impossible to overdose on it", he said. Hmmm, Wyatt knows what he's talking about. I'm starting to like him. The class goes by quickly enough and I go home. That night, I'm kept awake thinking about Wyatt. We just sort of clicked. But he's not gay... is he?
