I had Aiden in my arms and it felt good, like he belonged there. When school got out, I decided to walk home. I thought maybe the walk would clear my head and maybe I could get my senses back. I was so wrong. I was still thinking about Aiden. Now my body was warm and my skin screamed to have him near me again. I wanted to bang my head against a wall. I stopped and sighed. I looked up at the sky. "You're killing me." I muttered. Just then someone blinded me. "Guess who?" I almost faltered. "Aiden?" He removed his hands from my eyes and stood in front of me. "Hi, I saw you walking so I decided to chase you down." He was grinning. "You're in a good mood." I pointed out. He nodded. "Yeah I am." I smiled back at him and ruffled his hair. "Well that's good. You should smile more. You're so adorable when you smile." I should have stopped midway. As soon as I said that he stiffened and stared at me wide eyed. "Adorable?" I had to play it cool. "Would you prefer beautiful because that's how I think of you most of the time." Dammit to hell! I was saying all the wrong things. He just stared at me. "You think I'm beautiful?" His hand immediately went to the bruise on his cheek. I pulled his hand away and held it in mine. What the hell was I doing? I sighed. "You are beautiful." With my free hand and brushed his bangs from his face and stared at the pale beauty that had been on my mind since this morning. Before things got weird I let go of his hand and smiled. "Let me walk you home okay?" He nodded, blushing faintly. He stayed quiet the rest of the way. I glanced and saw that he was still blushing. I smiled. This kid was adorable. "Hey Aiden, can I ask you something?" I asked, suddenly serious. "Sure what is it?" He kept his eyes on the ground. "I'm going to ask you three things and you tell me which one of them is true okay?" He looked at me then, confused. "Okay?" "Do your parents abuse you? Did you sell your body? Were you involved with an older man in middle school?" I stopped walking but didn't face him. He stopped too and sighed. "You heard those stories huh?" I nodded still not looking at him. "Well you already know my dad hits me from time to time. I did not sell my body; I don't know where the hell that came from. As for the older man, that one is true." I almost fell. "What?" He nodded. "Yup, to make a long story short, he was curious and I was there." He sounded almost angry. I looked him in the eyes now. "Did you love him?" I really shouldn't have asked but I wanted to know. His anger seemed to worsen at the question. "Yeah, and I hate myself for it." Aiden didn't talk to me after that and I was afraid I made him hate me. Why did I ask him those things anyway? Damn my curiosity. I looked down and sighed. "Aiden..." "What?" He still sounded a little angry. "I'm sorry I asked you those things." I said. Aiden grabbed the back of my shirt then and I stopped walking. I turned around but I couldn't see his face, his bangs were covering his eyes. "You know I must be losing it. You're nice to me, you beat up anyone who bullies me, and you walk me home. I keep expecting you to pull a knife on me and you don't. If you're going to hurt me at least do me a favor and do it now so I don't have to keep waiting for it. It's driving me crazy!" He looked up at me then and there was complete anger now. "Dammit Vulcan I want to hate you but you make it impossible!" I pulled him to me then, not caring if anyone saw. He needed me and I knew it. He needed to know that not everyone was going to be a jerk to him. He needed to know that I was there and I wasn't going to hurt him. "I'm not going to hurt you, I swear it." I let him go and smiled. "Besides you can't hate me, I'll die if you hate me." He arched a brow. "You're sick in the head aren't you?" I laughed, choosing to ignore his question. "Plus, I know you can't live without me. I'm like cheese." Now he looked confused. "I'm sorry, cheese?" "Yeah, Air is overrated. Try living without cheese." I winked and he laughed. "What the hell Vulcan?" He just laughed harder. "Come on, let me take you home." I nudged him and we walked in comfortable silence. I walked him home and looked up at the house. "Remember what I said. Come find me." He nodded and we parted ways. I looked up at the sky again. "Yup, you're definitely killing me." I shook my head and made my way home.
