And this is just FICTION. This has never happened to me or anyone else that I know of. And if it's happening to you, get help. Abuse that isn't all fun and games (e.g., BDSM's is fun to some people) is never a good thing, no matter what. Comments, suggestions, honest criticism? Email me: purplecockatoo@theicezone.zzn.com Saving Donny Prolog Some people may argue that it's better to have loved and lost then never to have loved at all. If this is true then I should want to die right now and never have to bear the hurt and suffering that comes with both. I was in love once; Cody was the perfect specimen of a man. Even at 15 I knew I wanted him, big, strong, handsome, and at 21 just a little too old. But did that matter to him? No. He told me he returned my love and I was happy. Yet I was young and naive, I didn't know what love was. Cody told me that every time he hit me was a "love tap" just to say he cared, and the more it hurt, the more he loved me. A broken nose and five busted ribs later I was convinced he was lying to me. So I went to his house to tell him that, to break everything off before something really bad happened. When I got there Cody was drunk, not unusual to me, I was used to his drinking, the first thing he did when I came to the door was punch me in the face. "Dude, why'd your mom call and ask why your ribs were busted? Did you tell on me or something?" He slammed me up against the wall, "I think you did you ungrateful mother fucker!" He jabbed me numerous times in my still sore ribs before finally letting me fall to the floor. Cody ran to the kitchen and I slid my way up the steps, I knew that there was no way for me to escape by going outside, Cody could run 20 times faster than me on a good day. "Where are you sweetheart?" he shouted up the stairs and he climbed them slowly. I found my way to his father's room, Cody's father kept a gun in his nightstand for protection, I figured I'd just grab it and threaten Cody with it till he let me go, then I'd never have to see him again. I pulled the gun out as Cody entered the room; he was holding a butcher knife proudly above his head. He advance and I pointed the gun, he was either too drunk to notice or too stupid to care. He brought the knife down and I fired the gun. The knife tore into my skin and I blacked out. When I awoke later I was at the hospital, there were lots of cops around asking me questions that I didn't want to answer. Apparently the gun HAD been loaded and the shot I fired hit its target, right in the middle of his forehead. My chest felt as if someone had torn it in half; judging by the size of the bandage I'd assume that it was almost right. My mother came in and shooed all the cops away. "Mom, what's going to happen to me? I didn't mean to shoot him, honest, I just wanted to scare him." She held me tightly to her chest to try and calm me down. She explained to me about self-defense and she and everyone else who knew about Cody and me knew that he used to beat me regularly. Cody's parents where high officials in the town, any news leading out about their son being gay wasn't to be heard, and the fact that Cody was to be labeled a child-molester wasn't any better. So they had a choice to make: let everyone know about their son and let me try the case in court, or claim self-defense and drop it. I was back home with my mom in less than a week. Chapter 1 After the incident with Cody I decided to change my life a little. My attitude towards life changed. I helped out more around the house. I didn't complain about every little thing. I called my sister at least twice a week to see how she and the baby were doing. My grades in school went from average to straight A's. And for the first time in the 13 years he's been dead, I went to see my dad's grave. I'm now 18, the top ranked senior in my graduating class. I have an okay job as a cashier at the local market and send money to my sister to aid her in the raising of her baby. I was Mr. Popular. I was invited to a New Year's party at my friend Emily's house. She kinda felt sorry for me, I had just broken up with Marcus, a really sweet and gentle guy, but there was nothing there between us, we both saw it, I was looking for total devotion in a relationship whereas he was only looking for sex. I thought it might be fun to watch a bunch of underclassmen get drunk so I went. Sex, drugs and alcohol seemed to be the theme of this party. I did none of the above and I was bored outta my mind. I went to the poolroom and crashed on a lounge chair watching the little kids try to swim while under the influence of tons of booze. It was quite funny actually, but the smell of the puke was enough to make anyone gag. I was about to leave when I noticed three young boys enter the room. The two slightly bigger ones were laughing while the other timidly stood behind them. The first two boys stripped and I noticed their healthy sizes in the cocks department. Seeing these seemed to make mine grow a bit too. One of them, short brown hair with a few streaks of blue in it turned to the one behind him and said something I couldn't hear above the rowdy kids. The shy one, long blonde hair with one long blue clump, immediately began shaking his head no. The other boy laughed and grabbed the blonde's shirt, his face all the suddenly became serious and the blonde cowered in his presence. It was then I noticed it, the faint color of purple around the boy's eyes and nose, the way his eyes seemed to follow the other boy's hands cautiously, the sudden intake of breath whenever the boy got close. I knew these things all too well they were the symptoms of a child who has been abused. And if I was thinking correctly (I couldn't be too sure, the rotten smell of puke was kind of getting to me), it seemed as if it were the other boy that was doing the beatings. When the boy ripped the blonde's shirt off I sat up straight in my chair: bruised ribs and abdomen. Off the pants came next, the smaller boy screamed and tried to back away but the other boy, the third one that came with them, grabbed him and held him in place. I was on the edge of my chair now, waiting for the time to strike, I couldn't stand back and let this happen. They left the blonde a little dignity and let him keep his boxers. The three of them stood on the side of the pool, the blonde in the middle. I knew what was coming; I took off my shoes and waited for it. "On the count of three!" the blue haired weirdo said. "One.. Two.." with that the two boys pushed the poor little one into the pool. I waited. I wanted to see if he'd surface, he didn't. I dived into the pool and pulled him to the surface, but he wasn't breathing. He hadn't been under that long, they must have hit him hard and knocked the wind out of the poor boy. All eyes were on me as I started CPR on the kid. It didn't take long for his companions to realize who I was working on and they started looking angry. One last breath into his mouth and he spit a mouthful of water into mine. I quickly turned him on his side so he could get it all out. "Hey!" His friend with blue hair pushed me. It wasn't a hard push, it probably wouldn't have even bothered me had I not just given someone CPR, and I fell on my ass. "Who told you to do that to him? He's my boyfriend, if I wanted his life saved I would have said so." I stood. I was a good six inches taller than him, and he shrunk back a little. "Who made you God that you could say when a person should live or die?" "I--I--I'm sor--sorry Jamie, I didn't realize it was you." I was glad to see my popularity was winning something. I turned to the boy still on the floor, "Are you okay?" "Yeah." He looked up into my eyes. His eyes were the prettiest shade of light blue they were almost gray. "I know you, you're that guy. Jonathan right?" I helped him to his feet. "Yeah, I'm that Jonathan guy, but everyone calls me Jamie." He grabbed his chest. "I tried no to hurt you too much with the CPR and stuff... have you had a doctor look at those ribs?" I reached up and gently touched his rib cage. His eyes looked up to me then past me into his friend's, I knew then it was he that did it. "Hey, I let you kiss him while you saved his life, but touching him is another matter. I think you should take your hands off my boyfriend." "Scottie, he's not doing anything, he was just asking about my cracked ribs..." Scott shot the boy a nasty look. The boy bent his head down, he and I both knew he was in trouble for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. "Donny, let's go now." Scott said turning away. The boy, Donny, stood and walked towards Scott. I grabbed his arm and tried to get him to stay, but the look in his eyes said that he was in enough trouble already and that he didn't want to get into anymore. Donny grabbed his clothes, looked at me one last time and left the room. Chapter 2 I left the party a little after one. I didn't live that far away and I didn't really want to stay any longer. It was the New Year and I was ready to crash till the 6th. The headlights of my truck spotted a lone traveler on the side street. I recognized the blue streak immediately. I honked once and pulled over in front of him. Not even looking up Donny walked past the car; I guess he thought I was some kind of stranger or something out to pick him up in the middle of the night. "Donny!" I yelled out my window, he looked back and tried to figure out who I was. He slowly made his way back to the car. "Want a ride home?" He smiled but winced at the same time; I noticed his bottom lip was busted, it hadn't been there earlier. He walked to the passenger side and hopped in. "Where to?" "No where in particular." His voice was somewhat strained, like it hurt to talk almost. "My parents think I'm over at Scott's house." I had to find out once and for all. "Do you want me to take you to Scott's house then?" Donny shivered, "No, please, anywhere but Scott's house." I turned my overhead light on and grabbed his chin. "Your lip wasn't busted when I saved you earlier." I lifted his chin and inspected his throat. "And either was this." I said feeling the long red welt that circled his entire neck. "I'm fine." He said turning away from me. "Donny--" I reached out and touched his shoulder. As soon as I did he turned and laid his head on my chest, his eyes filled with tears. I gently stroked his hair while he cried. I cried too, I felt so sorry for him. Donny cried for a good 20 min. I raised his face to mine and wiped his tears away. "Why are you crying?" he asked with just a hint of a smile on his face. "Because I can't see how someone could hurt something as beautiful as you." His face turned about 100 shades of red and he turned from me again. "How about I take you to my house? You can sleep in my bed while I crash on the couch, okay? I mean, I can take you home in the morning, it wouldn't be any problem." "Thanks for the offer, but I think I'd rather face my parents." His hand went to his neck. "You sure?" "Yeah, they'll see it soon anyway. Might as well start off the New Year this way." He laughed lightly and he gave me directions on where to go. On the way home we discussed our lives. His real name was Donald Anderson, but everyone called him Donny for short. He lived with his mother and stepfather; his real father had left when Donny was still a baby. Donny had a total of eight brothers and sisters, him being the youngest at 16. He asked why everyone called me Jamie, since the obvious shortening for my name would be Jon. "My middle name is Jamerson." I explained, "It was my father's name. Everyone called him James, so when I was born he wanted everyone to know I was his baby boy, so my nickname became Jamie." "But isn't that like a girly name?" "I used to get teased about it. But I don't care. I'm proud to be named after my dad, I just wish I could have gotten to know him better." "Yeah, me too. Turn left here, it's the third house on the left." I pulled in front of his house, there seemed to be a party going on, he groaned. "You want to reconsider this?" "No." He turned and looked at me, "Thanks for the ride, and for what you did earlier. I quite literally owe you my life. Maybe I'll see you again some time." "I'd be upset if you didn't. And it was no problem, either of them." Donny started to get out of the truck, "Donny wait." He stopped and looked back. I scribbled my number on a napkin from my glove compartment. "If you ever need someone to talk to don't hesitate to call me." He thanked me again and ran up to his house. I just hoped he'd be okay.
