Date: Sat, 11 Nov 2006 13:46:42 -0800 (PST) From: Lusty Subject: The Science of Us-Part 26. Ending the Day and Starting Anew (Kyle) My mother stood outside the holding cell and stared at me in disbelief. "What the hell did you do?" she asked. I jumped up from the bench along the wall. "Mom, it wasn't my fault. Matt attacked me and I had to defend myself." "It was your fault! What do I always tell you? You're so smart, but you do the stupidest shit! I wish you would stop and think sometimes. Your whole future might be ruined, and for what? Nick isn't going to heal any faster." "Mom, I'm going to be okay. John's father is coming to get both of us out." "Without a hearing?" "Yes, that's what John said." I turned to John, who was sitting on the bench. "Right John, that's what you said." The look on his face cursed at me for bringing him in to our fight. "Yeah, that's what I said." "See Mom, its fine." "No it's not. If you want to act like a fool, maybe you should suffer some consequences. I don't want that man to get you out." "What? Come on Mom, you can't mean that. You want me to rot in jail?" "That is not what I said! Maybe a night in that crappy cell will teach you a lesson your father and I obviously can't." "I've learned my lesson. I've been in here for almost an hour!" "An hour Kyle? Do you really think you've learned your lesson in an hour?" "Yes! Look at this place! There's no privacy, the lighting is bad, it stinks like hell, and the beds are uncomfortable." "Well I guess you should have thought about that before you went back to your school to start trouble!" "But the people at school were being asses." "Don't use that kind of language! And I don't give a damn about the people at your school. You're responsible for your own actions." "But Mom" "Don't `but Mom' me." "But" She crossed her arms and stared at me. "I'm sorry Mom, I should have stayed at the hospital." "Well I shouldn't have given you the keys. I saw that crazed look in your eyes and I knew you were up to no good, but I was in a rush to check on Nick." "No, it's not your fault. It's mine." She smiled at me. "Yeah, you're right. It is your fault." I smiled, too. I knew she couldn't stay angry with me the same way I couldn't stay angry with her. "I really am sorry Mom, but you should have been at school today. The principal and the vice-principal defended those jerks who hurt Nick, and then the vice-principal had the nerve to expel me." "For fighting Matt?" "No, he expelled me before I went to the hospital. He was upset because I stood up for Jeremy and I walked out on him." "Why would you walk out on him?" "There was a lot of stuff going on. I'll tell you on the way home." She walked closer to the cell and stood on the other side. "What did he do? Did he hurt you?" "No, but he might as well have. He's a horrible person and I hope he burns in hell." "Don't wish that on other people." "But he deserves that and more. He shouldn't be allowed to be over any students anywhere, ever." Some guy came in and interrupted our conversation when he asked my mother to go with him. She was gone for a long time and I was starting to worry that she wasn't coming back. Then I saw her returning with the same guy. "You're both free to go," said the guy as he opened the cell. The guy explained that all charges against both of us had been dropped. When we got outside, there was a car waiting for John, but he didn't look happy about it. "What's wrong?" I asked him. "I have to go home now and I know my father is going to be pissed." "Is he going to hurt you?" He whispered, "Probably." "Come home with me. My mother won't mind." "No, it's only going to be worse if I don't go home tonight." I hugged him. "I'll talk to you tomorrow." I was two steps down when he stopped me, "Are you going to school?" "You're joking, right? I was expelled." "I'm sure my father could make a phone call and get you back in." "What is your father in the mob or something?" I laughed. "I think I need some time away from that place. Besides, I can spend the day with Nick." "Honey, are you coming?" my mother asked from the bottom of the steps. "I'm on my way." I turned back to John. "If I don't hear from you tomorrow, I'm going to hunt you down." "Is that a promise?" "Yes." "Well I guess I'll be calling you then." "Bet." I walked to the parking lot with my mother and got in the car. I immediately started telling her about my day. "Your father is going to lay in to you when we get home. I'll see if I can get him to back off some since you've had such a rough day and we'll figure out what to do about school tomorrow." My mother and I walked in our house and found my father and Pat playing a card game at the dining room table. Pat looked up at me and our eyes met and I smiled. "What are you doing here?" I asked. "I needed to check on you and I wanted to talk." I turned to my mother. "Is it okay if Pat and I go to my room and talk for a while?" "It's okay," my father said. "You two talk as long as you need. Your mother and I are going to go to bed." "We are?" asked my mother. "Yes." "I thought you wanted to talk to Kyle?" "I did." My father walked over to me and put his hand on my shoulder. "Pat told me about those assholes at your school and how you stood up to them. I just want you to know that I'm proud of you and Nick is lucky to have someone like you in his life." "What?" my mother and I asked at the same time. "Oh, yeah, you shouldn't have gone back to that school looking for a fight, but I understand why you did it. We can talk about it more in the morning. Goodnight." He grabbed my mother's arm. "Come on Emily, let's give these two some space." They left the room and I walked over to the dining room table and sat down across from Pat. "I'm sorry," I said. "You should be." "I know. I didn't mean to knock you down, but I was so angry. I wasn't thinking." I watched a tear fall down his cheek. I got up and walked around the table so I could put my arms around him. "I said I was sorry. Please don't cry." "I'm not crying because of you." "Then what's wrong?" He softly said, "Everything." I rubbed my fingers through his black hair. "Can I stay here tonight?" "John had to go home so who's going to stay with Drew if you stay here?" "Chris called me as I was leaving the hospital and told me that Drew's father was waiting for them when they got back to my house. His father took him home." "Is he going to be okay?" "I don't know." The tears started gushing from his eyes, so I pulled his face in to my shoulder. "Please don't make me be alone tonight." I had never seen him so vulnerable before. "Let's go to my room," I tried to move, but he was holding on tight to me and I couldn't. He finally loosened his grip and stood up and we went to my bedroom. Pat sat on the edge of my bed and took off his shoes. I found myself watching him as he undressed. He left his boxers on and crawled under my sheets. My mind started working again and I undressed and got in bed next to him. He startled me when he grabbed me and pulled me close then rested his head on my chest. "Can I hold you?" he asked. "I think you're doing that already." I told him as I put my arms around him and tried to comfort him. "I feel so drained and I keep thinking that things are going to get worse before they get better, I just need someone to tell me everything will be okay." "It will be," I assured him. "It has to be." "Then why do I feel like I'm losing everyone?" "What? You're not losing anyone." "Your heart sounds nice," he said. "Huh?" "I can hear your heart beat and it sounds nice. It's very soothing." "Um, thank you, I guess." "Your room is nice, too," he said. "Pat are you okay?" "Yes. I'm just feeling bad that you have to see me like this. Usually I talk to Chris but he told me he and Jessica were having a major discussion tonight and I didn't want to intrude. I came here and I was going to wait for you on the porch, but your father saw me. One cup of tea later and we were playing cards at the table." His finger lazily traced its way up and down my chest. "Your father is nice," he said and that shook a nerve in me. His voice sounded so tired. He squeezed me tightly. "This is nice, too." He held on to me all night as I helped him weather his breakdown. I opened my eyes the next morning with a great feeling coming from my dick. I pushed the sheet back and looked down at Pat, who had my dick in his mouth. "What are you doing?" I asked, ignoring the obvious. He stopped sucking my dick for a second, "I wanted to thank you and show you how much I appreciated last night." "But I didn't do anything." He sucked my dick back in to his mouth and I stopped thinking. I shot a pretty big load down his throat. He licked me clean and kissed his way up my body. "Did that make you feel better?" "Yes, thank you. Now let me return the favor," I said. "No, today isn't about me. I want to spend the day making you feel good." His voice still sounded tired. "Why?" "So you won't leave me like everyone else." He looked away from me and then he looked back. I think he knew he was going to have to explain. "What are you talking about? No one is leaving you." "My father called me last night. He told me its official: they are never coming home. He said they adopted some boy down in Florida and they were really happy without me. He said they were going to get it right this time. I guess some where deep inside, I always thought they would come back, but I was wrong." I had never seen his parents before, but I thought they were just busy. "When did they leave?" "Basically two years ago. They've been in and out of my life at random times since then." "What happened?" He looked at me and he shook his head. He closed his eyes and a tear ran down his cheek as he whispered, "I killed the baby." "You what?" "I caused my mother to lose her baby and to make it worse, she can never have any more children. She hates me. She's the reason why they left. She couldn't stand the sight of me." I pulled him closer and gave him a hug. "Why didn't you tell me?" "I didn't want you to know, but now it doesn't matter. I'm an orphan." "Maybe they'll come around." "They won't." I searched my mind for words to comfort him, but I drew a blank. "It's okay." I held him as he cried and I found myself crying with him. "I'm sorry." "For what?" "Crying like a baby." "You don't have to apologize for crying. I don't mind." "I just feel so lost. I went home last night and I opened the door and all I could feel was sadness. I didn't want to be alone. It hurts too much." "You don't have to be alone. I'm here." There was a knock on my door. "Breakfast is ready." "Okay Mom, we'll be out in a minute." "We?" "Pat spent the night." "Oh, alright, I guess. Are you okay? You sound like you've been crying." "I'm fine Mom. We'll be down in a minute." "Okay." Pat sat up and wiped his face with my sheet. "I know I look like a mess," he said. "Well you're a cute mess." I wiped away the remnants of my own tears and sat up next to him. I leaned over and kissed his neck. I kissed his cheek then I put my hand under his chin and turned his face towards me. I leaned in to give him a real kiss and he turned his head. "What's wrong?" "If you kiss me, I'm going to want more." "So?" "So we need to go down to breakfast. I don't want your parents thinking we're messing around up here." "But we are." I told him as I kissed his neck again. He pulled away from me and got out of bed. "Put some clothes on," he told me with a smile on his face. "I should make you do it for me since you're the reason why I'm naked." I smiled back at him as I stood up. "Put that thing away," he joked as he pretended to cover his eyes. "Shut up." I slipped on a pair of boxers and started walking to the door. "Aren't you going to put on some clothes?" he asked. "For what? To have breakfast with my family? That's okay." I watched as the color began to drain from his cheeks. I went to my dresser and pulled out a pair of jogging pants and a t-shirt. "Here, put these on." The color returned to his face. "Thanks." After he was dressed, we stopped by the bathroom and then headed to the table. We walked in to the dining room and my family looked over at us. "So you spent the night?" asked my father. "Yes," Pat told him. We sat down at the table and fixed our plates with eggs, sausage and toast. I was taking a sip of my orange juice when my little sister said, "I hope you guys used protection." I spit my juice all over my plate. "Shut up Doofus. We didn't do anything." Pat's whole face was red. "Don't talk to your sister like that," my father said. I smiled as I realized that nothing had changed in my house. My mother tried to ease the tension. "Are you going to visit Nick today?" she asked. "Yes." "If you boys hurry up and get ready, I can drop you off on my way to work," said my father. "I can drive," said Pat. "My car is parked outside." "You could if Kyle wasn't grounded for the next three weeks." "You're kidding right?" I asked. "Do I look like I'm kidding?" "No." "Now we're letting you go to the hospital and be unsupervised so if I were you I wouldn't complain, but you are not to go anywhere else. Your mother is going to go to the school today and try to find out more about your expulsion and then one of us will pick you up from the hospital this evening." "Yes sir." "If it's all the same, I think I'll drive myself and meet Kyle at the hospital," said Pat. "You can do whatever you like, but my son is not to set foot in your car. Is that understood?" "Yes sir," Pat replied. I giggled at the way he said it. Pat elbowed me. My sister excused herself from the table and I finished my orange juice coated breakfast. I stood up and my mother said, "Honey why don't you let Pat drive Kyle to the hospital. It really is out of your way." "Emily" "Pat is a good boy and I trust him to take Kyle to the hospital and no where else. Don't punish Pat, too. He doesn't deserve that. I mean look at him. I don't think he should be alone right now even if it is for a short time." "Well he can ride with me, too." "Honey, you're being ridiculous. Kyle is grounded. He knows that but there's no harm in Pat driving him to the hospital." "I thought we had an agreement," he told her. "We do. Kyle is grounded for three weeks because he went back to the school looking for a fight. I get that, but don't you think you're being a bit extreme. Let Pat drive him." "Emily, why do you always do this? Stop being soft with the boy! You already made him a faggot. Isn't that enough?" "Shut your mouth! Don't you ever speak like that in front of Kyle! How dare you! There is nothing wrong with him!" I got that familiar feeling in the pit of my stomach, that uncomfortable ball of tension that threatened to turn my digestive organ in to one big knot. "Stop arguing! I'll go with Dad. It's okay. Just don't do this! Not now." I couldn't control my feet as I got up and ran to my room. I felt like I was twelve and my parents were on the cusp of divorcing and I hated that feeling. I never wanted to go back to that time. I threw on a pair of shorts. "Kyle," someone whispered. I turned and watched Pat close my bedroom door and walk towards me. He grabbed both sides of my face and planted a tender kiss on my lips. "You'll be okay." There was a knock on the door. "It's open" I said. My mother walked in. "Pat is going to take you to the hospital and I'll pick you up later." "I'm sorry, Mom." "You have nothing to be sorry about. Your father woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, but we're fine. You couldn't pay me to leave that man, even if he is an inconsiderate jerk sometimes." She gave a half smile and retreated from my room, closing the door behind her. "See, everything is fine. Are you okay now?" Pat asked. "I'm fine. It just gets to me sometimes when I see them arguing, especially when it's over me." "Do that again," he said. "What?" "That little thing you just did with your eyes." "What thing?" "That! You just did it again." I blushed. He leaned in and kissed me. Soon I was sucking on his tongue and pulling off his shirt as I pushed him towards the bed. I fell on top of him and started grinding against him. He felt so good. I stopped the kiss and moved down to suck on his neck. He moaned with pleasure which caused me to grind harder. I felt his body stiffen beneath me as he came. The thrill of him cumming pushed me over the edge and I came, too. "Shit," I said. I wished I hadn't thrown on those shorts. "Sorry." "Don't be sorry. That was great. Quick, but great." I smiled at him. He pushed me off of him. "You jerk." "Hey I came too." "Yeah, you did." He laughed. "You definitely helped me clear my mind for a few minutes. I wish I could start every day with you in my arms." My smile faded and his laughter stopped. "Do you mean it?" he asked as he turned to his side and stared in my eyes. "Yes." "Good, because I wish for the same thing." "You should stay here." I told him. "Your father would never go for that." The mention of my father immediately brought me back down to earth. "I know." I forced a smile and said, "It would be nice though." "It would." He stole a quick kiss and then got off the bed. "We should get cleaned up." I sighed. "I guess we need to face the day eventually. I just hope today isn't as stressful as yesterday. I don't think I can take it." "Me neither. I need a break" he raised his arm and smelled his armpit, "and a shower." He smiled again and I was happy to see he had worked his way out of his depression. "We should shower together," he suggested. "You know, to conserve water." I laughed at him. "Since when do you care about water conservation?" He raised his eyebrows. I knew the house should be empty and I couldn't think of anything better than watching the water glide over Pat's naked body. I nodded my head towards the door. "Come on. There are towels in the bathroom." I knew we would leave my house soon, but I didn't mind delaying the inevitable, especially if it meant I could play around with Pat because he freed me from reality and I loved it. I needed to see Nick and I wanted to see him, but part of me was afraid to leave my house. For a moment, I regretted knowing that I couldn't crawl in my bed with Pat and hide from the world forever.
