I would like to also give my special thanks to him for all his effort to make my stories readable; PREVIOUSLY ON ST JOHN'S EVE: Michal, a 17 year old boy from Poland summons the ancient demon Rusalek during the St John's Eve; it appears, that if supplied with Michals sperm, Rusalek gains the power of making anyone desire the boy; meanwhile, a strange and formidable beast starts roaming nearby forests... Fight the Destiny (PART I) A dribble of my cum is dripping down Rusalek's face. I smile and collect it with my finger, then smear it on my tongue. It tastes kind of like a salty butter, but with a slight, savoury hint. Rusalek crawls up and he covers my lips with his. That's the only way I can get him to kiss me. You might think it's strange, given the way we were introduced to each other. But I guess demons aren't very romantic. From what he told me about his kind, I know that there is nothing that you can compare to human love. You see, demons have incredibly long lifespans. This makes them much more interested in crossing descendants of most promising bloodlines, than finding a person to spend their life with. Rusalek for instance is 1500 years old. Crazy, right? I still can't believe in even tenth of what he says, but there isn't really a way that I can prove him wrong. He is a sloppy, yet determined kisser. His tongue is dancing around the inside of my mouth until even the slightest trace of my semen is gone. It's already been five days since we met. And I still don't know why of all bodily fluids, my sperm is the one he chooses to draw his power from. 'All the substances in your body are powerful to some degree, but the seed is most effective. '- he answers, laying in his favorite position, flat on top of me, his chin supported by his forearm. 'What do you mean?' 'For example, saliva and sweat are much to weak, so collecting it is a waste of time.' 'No more kissing then, I guess?' 'Well, if you put your seed inside your mouth, I'll surely collect it.' - Rusalek grins - 'But it's not really effective. Then there is a fat, bone marrow and blood...' 'Stay away from my blood.' - I warn him immediately. 'I know, I know.' - little bastrad rolls his eyes in disappointment. - 'Besides, it's hard to extract and you could die in the process. So it's too bothersome anyway.' 'Die? Bothersome? You don't fucking say!' 'See? You don't have such objections when it comes to your seed. And it's pure life energy, so it's the best of all!' 'I'm like a cow to you.' - I say with mocked resentment. 'Cows don't have their wishes come true, do they?' - he says rolling of me, then he gets on all fours and starts moaning: 'Spank me daddy, I've been a naughty boy! Fuck yeah, daddy, breed my ass!' 'Oh, will you shut up?'- he is obviously referring to my encounter with the old hunter. I'm not ashamed of what I did, but I didn't like him making fun of those fond memories. 'Actually, I'm jealous!' - he said, throwing himself on the bed - 'I want you to penetrate me, and put your seed in my backside!' 'Sorry, I only bottom.' - I answer with a sly grin. 'What's that?' - he asks, confused. 'It means, that I never penetrate my partners. I only let them penetrate me.' 'Really? It seems boring.' 'It's not really up to me - I sigh - That just the way I am. The thought of putting my dick up someone's ass turns me off.' 'And still you want others to do it to you?' 'Don't make it sound like I'm forcing someone to do it. If they like it, I'm at their service.' - I laugh. 'Can I collect it with my mouth once more then?' 'Nah, I haven't recovered yet. And I need to get up too.' 'Very well. Then see you this evening' - he smiles and disappears into thin air. He's unbelievable! After I ate and got dressed, I decided to go for a walk. My phone bounces off my thigh in my pocket. I walk out into a blazing heat. I mean, It's been really warm for the last few weeks, but today it's especially hot. I bet if I crushed an egg on the stone, it would curdle on the spot! Today I decided to take a walk in the direction opposite to Damian's house, as I don't want to bump into him. Why? Because he's the one I need to think about. Ever since the incident at the lakeside, I haven't had the chance to meet and talk with just him. Don't get me wrong - I really like Marcin, Tomasz and Adam. But when they're not around Damian is much more friendly and somewhat bolder towards me. I suppose that with four of us, he wants to be fair and give as much attention to each of us. But understanding it isn't really making the whole thing easier to bear. I stroll along the side of the road. On my left, there's a stream. As I walk, I stare into the muddy waters. I need to separate Damian from the herd somehow. That 's exactly the reason why I finally worked up a courage to take the phone out of my travel bag. I walk until I come across a concrete footbridge hanging over the water. Once there, I sit down. I take a moment to admire the view of the vast plain covered with fields and orchards, and then reach for my phone. The sun is so strong that it's brightness blocks the clarity of the screen. I cover it with my palm, go to the settings and set the brightness to 100%. As I go back to main menu I can hear the beeping. Three new messages. Exactly one per week. All of them from one sender. I open and read through them. [Just checking how you're doing :) text me back] [Are you there? Please call me, I want to apologize...] [Michal, please don't be mad. There was nothing I could do. Please, call me. I'm so sorry. I still care about you] For a moment I feel the urge to reply to tell him that if he really cares, he should fuck off. I can't believe that after he left me, Jan still had nerve to send me these kind of messages. Yet after a moment, I manage to shake off my anger. He doesn't matter anymore. And besides, I need the phone for a different purpose now. I reach for my pocket once again and take out a scrap of paper with three phone numbers written on it. For the last few days I've been tricking guys into thinking that my phone has a weak battery. I've been saying it needs to be charged each time they've mentioned it. Finally they gave me their numbers and written them on a piece of paper. I copy them to my phone book and immediately write a message to Damian. [Hello, this is Michal. Have a nice day] I deleted it on the spot. What the fuck was that supposed to be? Have a nice day? Seriously? How about "I'm gay and I want to suck your dick?" [Hey, this is my number :) Let me know if you got the message :)] Delete! Fuck this shit! If he doesn't get the message, he obviously won't reply! What was I, thick? Ok, third time lucky. [You wanted my number, so here it is. Michal] Finally satisfied, I hit "send". A few minutes pass by as I wait for his reply. First I try to distract myself by throwing pebbles into the stream, but I soon run out of them. Then, I try to find something to count. There are no ants in sight, or birds flying by. Why hasn't he answered already? Maybe he's not at home? Maybe something happened to him? Maybe he doesn't really like me after all? I then hear the beeping of my phone so I immediately open the message. [I just got the delivery report. What's up? Why did you turn off your phone?] I feel sudden urge to throw my phone into the water. Why, of all times, does Jan have to text me right now? I don't want to hear from him anyway, and now he has to barge in on my conversation with Damian. I delete his text without battering an eye and continue waiting. Finally the message arrives. [K. Thx. Bye] Can you believe it? If it was possible to punch people through mobile phones, then that's exactly what I would do to both Damian and Jan. Sometimes I think the only reason for phones to exist is so that you can get annoyed for money. When I return back to the house, my grandma asks me to do some grocery shopping in town. I agree straight away. You may remember what I told you about the village's location. I think you can imagine that considering the weather, such a trip would be too exhausting for an older person. Actually, I used this opportunity for my own purposes, inviting Damian to go to town with me. Surprisingly, he's totally up for it. About fifteen minutes later, we meet at the gate of my place and set off on our bikes. As we ride through the village we notice a strange elderly woman walking on the side of the road, towards the village. Despite the glaring sun in the sky, she wears a long black robe that covers the top of her head. As we pass her, we make silly face to each other and giggle, but quickly forget about seeing her. We finished with the shopping in no time. We decide that it's too early to go back and that we want to eat lunch in a small bar in town. Grateful for his willingness to spend time with me, I order the same thing as him; a spicy kebab. 'Jesus, how can you even eat those things? - I exclaim after taking the first bite - It feels like my tongue is on fire!' 'Stop moaning, that's the whole idea.' - answers Damian while laughing and taking a sip of coke. In my case, the only thing stopping me from drinking mine in one gulp is the thought that I might need it later. 'Some ideas are dumber than the others.' - I shoot back. 'I ate yours, so you must eat mine.' - he answers. I wonder if he knows how hard he makes me by just saying this. 'Fair enough. - I concur - So, how will you make it even for avoiding me?''Avoiding you? What are you talking about?' - he raises his brow in genuine bewilderment. 'Ever since that son of a bitch threw your T-shirt into a lake, you've been doing your best to avoid being alone with me. If you're afraid that I'll provoke him again, then I can promise that I won't.' He narrows his eyes for a moment, perhaps making up some kind of excuse. Then his expression brightens and he starts giggling. Agitated, I take an aggressive bite of my kebab. Hot sauce on my tongue extrudes the tears from my eyes. Damian is about to laugh the shit out of himself. 'This isn't about that fucker Lukasz! I just thought that it wouldn't be fair to spend afternoons with just you. The guys could take it the wrong way and think that I don't like them anymore.' 'Then what about mornings? They help their parents in the mornings, so they don't have time anyway, right?' 'Well, last time I visited you in the morning, I woke you up. I just don't want to impose on you.' 'Are you kidding? I don't mind you coming by at any time. Actually I've been thinking of picking up jogging again. Would you like to go for a run with me?' This was obvious bullshit. I had few achievements in sport, but I wasn't even remotely keen on running. So in reality I wouldn't be picking it up again. But I guess there's nothing that closeted guy wouldn't do to spend time alone with their crush. 'I don't know. I think I'd be to too slow to catch up with you.' 'Don't be ridiculous, jogging is about endurance, not about speed. We'd barely be running, honestly.' - I said, making things up as I spoke. 'And with this blistering heat, we'd have to go on a run early in the morning. You think you can manage that?' - asks Damian. He knows me all too well. 'I'm willing to make that sacrifice,' - I sigh. - 'Let's say, we'll meet at 6 AM, run for an hour and then come back to yours or my place to have breakfast. Is that ok?' 'Fine by me for sure!' he answers with a radiant smile. His eagerness seems a bit strange, given his previous behaviour. After I quickly buy a few bottles of water, we set off to go back to the village. We parted ways until later on in the afternoon when we'd meet up with the rest of the guys. In the evening I notice that my grandparents are visibly worried about something. After having such a good day I'm in mood for showing them a little affection. I sit down in the kitchen with them and make myself some bread with lard and pickled cucumbers. It's another delicacy not well-known outside of Poland. As I prepare it, I ask them what's wrong. Apparently during the day, there were many mysterious incidents throughout the village. None of the cases were uncommon in a village inhabited by farmers. Five houses away, boars ruined a potato field. Two houses away, birds plucked out all of the crops in the field. There was also a stillborn calf in our neighbours' homestead. But there was something odd in the fact that all of these things happened in the span of just a dozen hours. And trust me, I'm not a superstitious person, so usually I wouldn't view these things as anything more than unfortunate coincidences. But considering recent events, I decide to discuss this matter with Rusalek. When he appears later on, his expression is clearly visible in the moonlit room. It's not as mischievous as usual. 'Is something wrong?' I ask him, skipping the small talk. 'I- I think that during the first summoning I wasn't the only demon that made it into the human realm.' 'Oh, great! What kind of demons?' I guess I became a bit spooked, as I bought this story on the spot. Well, I guess when you're being blown by a demon on a daily basis, there is a high risk of becoming a believer. 'So far, I'm aware of one. The one responsible for the things that happened today.' 'Ok, let's start with that.' - I answer, making a wide gesture with my hand, inviting him to carry on with his confession. He makes a troubled face as he starts speaking. 'Do you remember when I mentioned about myself being a part of the Clan of Air? There are four more clans in our realm. Clan of Fire, Clan of Water, Clan of Earth and Clan of Life.' 'What are you, Planetarians?' - I chuckle associating his words with popular 90's tv show. He clearly reads that thought as all of a sudden, I'm forced to jump up in bed, as he starts levitating. I'm scared to death as I see his hair burst into green flames, his eyes lighting up and his fangs and nails protruding. His tail is twitching like a whip. I struggle to breathe. Seeing him like this is even scarier, as it's a striking contrast to his usual gentle and playful nature. 'One more remark like that, and I'll show you hell' - he growls, and trust me, I don't take his promise lightly. 'Ok, ok, I'm sorry! Please, calm down!' He stays in his monstrous form for the next few seconds, clearly to ensure my intimidation. Then he settles back down and softly lands back on the bed, as if nothing happened. 'Very well then, as I said, there are five clans, associated with every known element. The demon we are dealing with belongs to the Clan of Life, and is called Dola.' 'Dola? You mean fate?' 'To a degree. It's more like personification of fate. It can either bring you luck or misfortune, depending on whether you are a good or bad person. Although this one seems to have gone berserk.' 'Is there a way to get on their good side?' - I ask, hoping that solution will include doing something dirty. 'I don't think so. All we can do, is to carry on and wait until it changes its will. Demons of Life are regarded as a superior race, so fighting it is out of the question.' 'So we have to just sit around and wait? What if someone dies?' 'So you'd rather let us die instead?' - he asked, tilting his head to the side. 'I-I... It just doesn't seem fair! I'm going to sleep.' - I grumble. 'And what about my...' - says Rusalek in disappointed tone, but I interrupt him. 'Sorry. Gotta wake up early tomorrow.' A yawn escapes my mouth as I wait for Damian to come out of his house. I'm wearing my old t-shirt with Homer Simpson printed over the front and some baggy shorts. It's 6 AM. As you may have noticed I'm not really a morning person. You can imagine how amazed my grandparents were to see me wide awake (three quarters awake to be exact) at such time as it was a rare thing. They, on the other hand, are used to waking up at around 5 AM each morning as having livestock requires regular attention. Not something I envy, to be honest. Finally I see Damian. His eyes are wide open and he has a smile plastered to his face. That bloody morning bird. We walk up to the forest and do some stretches to warm up. Then we start to scamper down the picturesque path. The air seems a bit cooler here and the mist is rising above the ground, creating magical and eerie atmosphere. I gotta tell you, even though I didn't like jogging, the route we've taken is compensating the shortened breath and burning muscles. Damian indeed lacks any form of endurance, so it's actually an advantage to me since it's quite easy to impress him. Of course I adjust my pace to his, as I want our runs to be a recurring activity. We run for about twenty minutes, listening to singing birds and taking in deep breaths of fresh, aromatic air. Then we decide to rest for a bit. We sit down on the stones lying on the side of the road and both share my water. 'So, you glad I managed to convince you?' 'Your illuminations... are rare... but inspiring.' - he answers, heaving. 'Hard to be sarcastic, when you're out of breath, eh?' - I laugh. 'Some people have... better things to do... than running around without... purpose. You sure you have... a girlfriend?' 'Quite. - I chuckle - Why? Are you saving yourself for me?' 'I just thought jogging is something that horny guy would do if he had no chance to get off, and wanted to blow off some steam.' 'That's so not true. If it was, then you'd be faster than a Quicksilver.' 'Yeah, you too.' - giggles Damian. 'Nope.' - I tell him with triumphant smile. 'Jerking off doesn't count. We're both virgins.' 'Nope.' - I repeat and can't contain my laughter as his eyes are about to pop out of orbits. 'Are you serious?' - his exclamation echoing through the forest. 'Seriously serious.' 'Was it with your girlfriend? When did that happen?' 'Nah, it was before I started going out with her. It happened with another person, when I was fifteen.' 'Shit, I'm already sixteen and only have kissed so far... So tell me, how did it feel to touch their breasts?' 'It is kinda like when you feel the underside of your arm.' -I answer. How do I know this? Actually, I don't at all. I'm just making things up. 'They must feel really nice.' - he says while giving me a faint smile and testing my simile. 'Kay, it's time to get going. Let's go back.' - I say, a bit annoyed with both myself and with him. Even if for the sake of hiding my preferences, I hate lying. And I'm disappointed as Damian is clearly straight. I mean, breasts? Big fucking deal. What is it about those two clumps of meat that gets guys so excited? About half an hour later and we're back in the village. We stroll along the road between a field and a pasture, where we can see a herd of about twenty cows. Our chat is interrupted by something you probably won't believe. As I open my mouth, about to say something, I notice that Damian has stopped and is looking at the cows intently. 'Come on, their udders are probably nowhere near the same as human breasts.' 'It's not about that. Look!' - he says, pointing his finger at the herd. 'What d...the fuck?' - I mumble as I look in the indicated direction. One cow, followed by two others fall down to the ground with an unnerving thud. Tongues then begin to fall out of their mouths. We watch in terror as the whole herd is wiped out by an unknown force. The most terrifying part is their desperate mooing and that the remaining cows are just standing still, not knowing where to run. The sudden silence after the last one dies is even more intimidating. 'D-do you think they're dead?' - asks Damian. I realise that at this point that he'd grabbed my hand. I try to squeeze it to give him comfort, but once he becomes aware of what he did, he breaks the physical contact and embarrassment is clearly visible on his face. 'How should I know? - I respond, slightly annoyed with his reluctance - I can go closer and check it out if you want.' 'No, don't!' - he exclaims - 'If that's some kind of disease, I don't want you to catch it.' 'Well then, let's go home. - I propose, shrugging my shoulders - 'Standing here is useless.' 'Right. Let's go.' We walk back in silence, too shaken and disturbed by what we've just seen to strike up a conversation. We separate at the gate of his house. We haven't arranged a meeting later, but that doesn't worry me. After all it gives me a nice excuse to call him in the afternoon. As I come back, I see ambulance parked on the yard. I run inside the house and see that my grandpa has been taken away to hospital. Once inside, I see that my grandma is on the verge of tears. I suddenly feel bad for leaving them by themselves so much everyday. I should use the time I spend here to help them and bond with them! And maybe if I were there today, I could have called for ambulance sooner... Luckily enough, three years ago telephone lines were connected through the village. At least they were able to call for help by themselves. 'What happened?' 'Your grandfather had a heart attack... Oh God, what will I do if...' 'It's gonna be alright.' - I interrupt, hugging her - 'I'll call my parents and they'll get us both to the hospital.' TBC Feedback appreciated.
