Thank you guys all so much for the feedback. Here's the second Part. Jack walked into his fist class just as the bell rang. He saw everybody already in their `groups.' The preppy girls were showing off their newest fashions, the jocks were talking about summer sports camps, the nerds arranging their supplies, everybody seemed to be busy, and nobody notieced as the new guy walked into the room. Jacks eye caught sight of an empty desk at the back of the room. Good, avoid attention. He sat down and pulled out a notebook. He was still bent over his backpack when he noticed a framiliar pair of brown vans coming towards him. Mr. Gorgeous. He straitened up in time to see Matt sit down at the desk next to him. Jack put his notebook on the table and set a couple pencils to the side. One of them started rolling, but Jack didn't notice until he heart it hit the floor. Before he could even b end down to pick it up, a hand was holding it out back to him. He took the pencil in his hand and looked up to see the owner of the hand. "Hi, I'm Matt." Jack was speechless. Matt had the most beautiful blue eyes he'd ever seen. His eyes shot down to their hands, not even 2 inches apart still on the pencil. "Uh, hi. Name J-jack." "Well hi J-jack," Matt said with a chuckle, still not letting go of the pencil. Jacks eyes flew to their hands again. "Oh, thanks. For picking up my pencil I mean." "Well I need a pencil for the day, do you mind if I keep it?" Matt asked with a heart-melting smile. "I guess, but it says my name on it..." Jack replied slowly. "I don't mind." "Well, er, sure then I guess." "Sweet, thanks." He said, flashing that smile again. "Yeah, sure." "So, where you from, before here I mean?" Matt asked as if to avoid the conversation ending. "Uh, I'm from Jamestown." Jack said, still struggling to talk to this beautiful boy. I hope I get used to talking to him. He thought to himself. "Oh really? Me too." J "Yeah, you're on my bus." Jack said with a slight chuckle. "For real? Oh, well that makes sense, haha." "Okay guys, chill out, it's not vacation anymore, let's get settled." The teacher stood up from her desk. She was a small blond woman, looked barely over 20. "For those of you who don't know me, I'm Karen." Jack leaned over and whispered to Matt, "She goes by her first name?!" incredulously. "Yeah, most teachers here do." Was his hushed response. "Okay, I see it's time to lay down the ground rules for my English class. First, there's no cell phones." Karen shot a glance to a group of girls who all hurriedly put theirs away. "Next, there is no talking while others are talking." She looked in Matt and Jack's direction. Jack felt the heat rush to his cheeks and looked over at Matt. His face was just as red as Jack's felt. The rest of the class went by quickly, too quickly for Jack's liking, with taking notes and sneaking looks over his shoulder at Matt. Once he caught him looking back, and when their eyes met Matt didn't look away, he just smiled. Not late enough, the bell rang. "Where you goin' next?" Matt asked as the class shuffled for the door. "Uhh, math I think." "Oh really? Me too. Who with?" "Johnson?" "Ooh, good luck with that one, I've got pre-calc." "As a sophomore?" "Yeah..." Jack was in awe, Beauty and brains. "Well, I'll see you later, Jack." Matt flashed him that smile one last time before heading down the hallway in the opposite direction Jack had to go. Wow... Two periods later the Lunch bell rings. Jack finds his way to the cafeteria and gets in line. He only gets a water, because he didn't know how good the school food was here, and looked for a table. He was standing there staring at the tables full of kids he didn't know, when he felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned, confused, to see Matt standing there with a tray full of food. "Need somebody to sit with?" "Uh, actually, yeah.." Are you serious?! "Right this way then." Matt headed off to a corner where Jack spotted an empty table. Matt headed towards the side facing the wall, while Jack sat with his back to the majority of the café. "So, how are you liking your first day here at the glorious Georgetown high?" "Boring. To be honest, meeting you was the most exciting thing in my day." "Really? Cool. Haha" Matt flashed his smile that was really starting to grow on Jack. "Yeah." Jack said. He opened his water and took a sip, and nearly spit it all over the place when he felt a foot rest on top of his own, but instead shot Matt a quizzical look. Matt shot one just as quizzical back, like nothing was happening. "So, have you made any other friends today?" "No, not really. But I don't really mind. I don't want to get too close to anybody." "What? Why not?" "Shit happened last year, and I lost a load of friends, and I don't want to go through that again." "Aww, what happened? Talk to Dr. Matt." He said with that smile yet again. Shit, well, here goes nothing. Make it or break it time. "Well... A lot of people started hating me when I came out... as gay." "You're gay?!" "Yeah..." Jack said slightly let down and looking down at his hands wrapped around his water bottle. He didn't sound so happy. I guess he's not going to like it. "Hey, don't look so down. That's a good thing." Jack looked up and was surprised to see Matt smilling. He was even more surprised to see Matt reaching for his hand. "I am too." To Be Continued...
