Subject: The Real Dream-13

The first thing we did when we all arrived back home was pick up Buddy.
The vet told us he had been nothing but a good boy the whole time. I
ran to Buddy, but I slipped & fell on the ground. Buddy came
trotting up to me, slobbering my face with his tongue. I couldn't help
but laugh.


We got back to the house & let Jamie out. He needed to be home
for dinner, but not before mouthing the words "I love you" to me.


When we got inside, Ben told me he'd help me unpack in a few minutes.
Until then, I turned on the TV in my room. I wasn't into 5 minutes of
the show when Ben came in & started to help put my clothes &
other stuff away.

"You seem happy" he said to me.

"Yeah well," I went over to close my door, "I did just come back from a

nian vacation with my boyfriend."

"Ya know Tan, I think you really needed this trip. You got way too much
going on right now."


"Yeah I know. Since we got back, I don't feel as stressed. Except for that
one little incident, I loved everything that happened..." I said
cautiously.

"Tan, pal, I told you, stop worryin' about it."

"I know, but it's not every day that my brother catches me makin' out with
my boyfriend" I said.

"It only happened that once, so quit being so freaked out" he told me as he
walked towards my suitcase & ruffled my hair.

"So what did you do most of the time we were there?" I asked him.

He didn't answer me.

"Ben?"

He turned around & faced me. He held up his hand, which was holding a
bottle of KY jelly. He had an eyebrow raised.

"I swear Ben, that's not mine!" I held up my hands in defense. I wasn't
lying. It really wasn't mine.

"Oh of course not. I just found it in your bag. Tanner..."

"Ben. I swear to you, as your bro, that's not my lube."

He seemed to be thinking of something to say, but he had nothing. I assumed
he believed me now.

"Ok. But Tan, you gotta tell me. Are you guys really...you know..."

"No."

"I'll believe you. But Tan, just be safe, ok?"

"I will. I promise."

The second he left my room, I took out my cell & called Jamie's cell.

He picked up. "Hey you" he said.

"Jamie, why the hell did you put a bottle of lube into my bag?"

"Oh. Oops. I guess I put it in yours by mistake. No big deal."


"Yes, 'big deal'. Ben was unpacking my suitcase & he picked up the lube &
asked me what that was all about. Jamie, he thinks we're...doing it."

"Well fyi, that lube is for my own personal jerking session. But now that
you mention it, I suppose we could-"

"Jamie!"

"What? We've done everything else. Why not this one?" he asked me.

Was he being serious? This wasn't the Jamie I knew. Jamie I knew was more
sensitive & not this ambitious.

"Because actually doing it is a whole new level & I'm not sure either of us
are ready."

He paused for a few moments. Then, I heard him breath out.

"I guess you're right. I'm sorry, Tanner."

"Ok. Just lets not try to let this happen anymore. I don't need more talks
from people."

"You bet. I'll see ya later. Love you."

"Love you, too. Bye" I said, flipping my cell closed.

"Who do you love?" said a voice behind me.

"Oh sh-" I was so scared to when I jumped.

"Dad?" Dad was standing in the doorway to my room. He was holding my moms
suitcase, headed for his room.

"Who was that?" he asked me.

"It was Pa" I lied. Pa was my dad's father.

"Pa doesn't know your cell, does he?" asked my dad.

"Yeah, I gave it to him & Meme last time we visited."


"Ok" said my dad as he walked back to his room. Just then, Buddy came
trotting into my room. I picked him up & brought him over to my bed. I lay
down with him in my arms as I scratched behind his yellow ears.

"Boy that was a close one, huh? Think he bought it?"

He barked & then licked me on the nose with his tongue.

"Oh what do you know? You're a dog" I smiled.


Later that night, I walked passed my parents' room to take a shower. I was
only in my boxers when I realized their door was open & they were talking.

"Guess what happened when we all got home?" said Dad.

"What?"

"I overheard Tanner say 'Love you' to someone on his phone."

"Really? Aww our baby's in love" said my mom. Oh boy.

"Who is it?"

"Well, I asked who it was when I passed by his door & get this. He told me
it was Bill."


"Tanner's in love with your father?" At this, I almost exploded with
laughter. It was nearly impossible to hold back the laughs I had, it was so
funny.

"No. He was talking with Bill. How come he tells my son he loves him, but I
rarely heard it as a kid?" my dad asked my mom.

"I don't know hon. I don't do miracles."

"Hmm. Well, it would be nice for Tanner to be in love with somebody."

I smiled to myself as I walked towards the bathroom to take a shower. If
only they knew. If only they knew...
