I have been reading the stories on Nifty for quite a while and decided that I would finally try to do one myself. I know I know I am definitely an idealist when it comes to some of the details of this story, but I hope you enjoy this! I will also warn you that this story will develop kinda slowly, as I hate stories that are so predictable. I will try not to give away the whole plot in the earlier chapters. If you are looking for a quick jerk off, this is not the story for you. Sorry, I know the feeling searching for them ;). Please feel free to send me an email and let me know what you think of the story. As usual, if you are under the legal age to read this sort of material or it is illegal to do so in the region you live in, please hit the red ?x? in the top right corner of your screen now. I retain all creative rights to this story. Any reference to people of the same name is purely coincidental. This is all fiction, minus the cities and the celebrities. Thanks to Nifty for posting this story. Without donations, this site wouldn't exist. I implore you to donate if you have the means. Unfortunately I am a poor college student, otherwise I would certainly do so. Special thanks to my best friend Kai for reading each chapter over and making sure it doesn't suck too badly. Love you! Sorry for the delay with this chapter. Organic Chemistry and Physics own my life this semester. Fortunately, Spring Break is coming up and since my friends are lame, I am not going anywhere. So I should have Chapter 5 finished shortly. Thank so much for reading! Opinions are welcome- rylanhanley@gmail.com. I love talking to new people and I try to respond ASAP, although it has been tough recently given my classes. Thanks! Rylan Chapter 4 - "Please?" *Written from Kayden's Perspective* Is there any worse sound in the morning than the sound of your alarm clock? I sure as hell don't think so. Nonetheless, 6:45 rolls around and I have to muster up the willpower to get my lazy ass out of bed to get ready for my first day of school at Orange Unified School District. After a nice, soothing shower and performing the usual routine of brushing my teeth and doing my hair and what not, I choose a pair of Buckle Jeans and a high-cut Armani V-neck t-shirt. While I am certainly not a flamboyant person, fashion is definitely something that I enjoy. I absolutely LOVE shopping for new clothes. I think I may even have more clothes than my sister, and that's saying something! Anyways, I decided that I am going to try and keep my sexuality hidden until I feel like I am comfortable with my friends or until I meet a guy I just have to date. For me, it just isn't worth it. Even though, like I said, I am not very flashy, it still spread around school rather quickly that I was gay. Apparently someone spotted Nathan and me holding hands walking out of a restaurant after a date. Like, if someone asked me I wouldn't have denied it, and nor will I here in Cali, but I don't plan on advertising my sexuality either. Fortunately I didn't endure any physical abuse from bigots in North Carolina. Due to hockey, I am built pretty well so they didn't try and attack me at all. However, I could still hear the occasional whisper of "faggot" whenever I walked past. One or two students even requested a different seat because they didn't want to sit next to me in class after it was discovered I was gay. The emotional toll of everyone finding out was certainly miscalculated on my part. I figured it wasn't going to be perfect, but it was a lot more challenging than I expected. I recall several times crying myself to sleep in Annie's arms the first few weeks after being outed. Luckily for me, my sister helped me realize that words don't mean anything and I have nothing to be ashamed about for simply loving someone. Well enough about the past for now, I can smell the fresh banana chocolate chip pancakes the whole way up in my walk-in-closet! Unlike most families, my father is actually a ten million times better cook than my mother. As tradition serves, he makes us a nice big breakfast on the first day of school. I hate how I walk downstairs and my parents and sisters are chatting away about their upcoming day and I can barely drag myself down the steps and over to the island to grab some amazing looking pancakes. Why am I the only one who isn't a morning person in my family? "Mornin' Kay, How was your sleep? Ready for your first day of school?" My mom inquires. I mumble a "Good and Sure" and grab four pancakes and a glass of orange juice before making my way to the table in the breakfast nook. "Annie, Kayden now that you are both here and somewhat attentive," my dad begins as he glances at me with a smirk, "I just want to go over a few things before we head off to school. First and foremost, I will be holding an assembly to introduce myself to the high school this afternoon. There I will be revealing my plan to implement a Gay-Straight Alliance club in the school. As of now, they do not have one. I think that, besides the fact that I want a safe place for my son to go to school, that it will benefit the place in general. Plus it will be a great way for you to make some friends Kayden." "Yeah and if you happen to make some friends today I will guild them into joining the club like I did in North Carolina," Annie chimed in. "That would be very nice of you Annie," my dad continues, "Also Kayde I made sure that we would have your Model United Nations program and the mock trial team that you loved so much back in Charlotte. There is this fantastic history teacher that you will have, Mr. Henson, who agreed to help out with the Model UN club. I am really looking forward to you meeting him. I told him all about you and he is excited to meet you in person." "Great," I replied. I neglected to use the sarcastic tone that I would have liked to use. I really don't want to be labeled as a teacher's pet or to have any sort of high or unreasonable expectations placed on me by the teachers. Hell, I already put enough pressure on myself. Hopefully I can succeed or I just might be in some deep shit on this one. Though I highly doubt I will have much to worry about when it comes to history. I think that will probably be my major in college before I go on to law school. Political science would sort of drive me nuts I think because of my opinion on gay rights, obviously. I mean come on!!! How on earth is not allowing homosexuals to get married NOT unconstitutional? That is something I will never understand. Fortunately, my dad broke my thoughts before I decided to go on a rampage within my own thoughts. "Alright well I have to get to school early. See you guys afterwards! Have a great first day!!!" He said before walking out the door. My mother, sisters and I continued to eat our pancakes and chat about various topics until it was time to hit the road. Since Annie and I just got new cars, we decided to drive to school separately. Obviously we were pumped to have these new, sexy rides so why wouldn't we drive them? I certainly got some looks pulling into the parking lot at school. I'm not sure if it was simply the fact I was a new student or because I was driving an $80,000 Range Rover, but I don't particularly care for the attention either way. "Ok Kayden, just play it cool, try to make some friends, and get through the day without any major hitches," I command myself before exiting my vehicle. Damn!! I am still in the parking lot but I already can tell there are some really hot guys that go to school here! Shit, this might be more difficult than I expected to stay in the closet. If I get caught staring on my first day of school, I am going to be totally fucked. Alright let's just get to homeroom and everything will be better. Luckily, Dad took Annie and me through the school with our schedule so we already knew how to navigate the halls. We both had homeroom with Mr. Harrison, my advanced placement chemistry teacher. After briefly introducing ourselves to the teacher, Annie and I turned around to find our seats and I swear I almost fell over. This boy that I assumed would be sitting behind me was simply breathtaking! He is totally dead sexy and just....completely gorgeous!!!! WOWWWW!!!! Ok Kayden, breathe and play it cool. DO NOT FUCK THIS UP WHATEVER YOU DO!!! I take my seat and look at my schedule, trying not to think about this hottie behind me when I feel a tap on my shoulder. "Hey dude my name is Isaac. Welcome to the Anaheim Hills!" he says as I turn around to look him in his crystal clear blue eyes. Damn, if I didn't already have a twin, I would say this kid could be my twin! Plus Isaac is such a sexy name. Could this get any better? Ughhh pleaaasseeee be gay!!!! So apparently that little tap was the beginning of a fast friendship. Turns out Isaac isn't just sexy, he is also smart and plays hockey like I do! And he is sweet and kind and friendly too! We spent pretty much the whole day getting to know one another and he introduced me to his niche of friends. They are all really great people and I can definitely see myself chilling with them all both in and out of school. I must admit I did have one slip-up with Isaac today. Of course during gym I couldn't resist checking his body out. Let me tell you, hockey has done wonders for it! I think he may have caught me staring at his chest. Damn though, and I thought my chest was nice! Oh well, I suppose I am aloud to have a little guilty pleasure right? Besides I am pretty sure I saw Isaac giving me a quick look over too! Ok perhaps that was wishful thinking, but I swear I saw his eyes wonder down my torso. The assembly that Dad did went over pretty well I think! Hopefully there will be a few people like me who will also be interested in Model UN and mock trial! We shall see I suppose. I bet I get roped into being an officer in at least one of those clubs since I am probably the only one who has ever been a part of them. Oh well, looks good for colleges I think! Anyways, when we went to the local Starbucks after school, Annie dropped the "let's go and join the GSA" bomb on everyone. Isaac had the most interesting reaction of everyone in the group. At first, I thought he might be one of those homophobic pricks, but then he became very adamant about his stance on gay rights. Fortunately, those views included how unfair homosexuals were treated. Thank goodness! I was worried there wouldn't be any way we could even be friends, let alone possibly more than that. But after Annie pushed him about his opinion, he became very defensive towards gay people. Hmm...maybe? Hopefully? Well whatever, moral of the story is that everyone in the little group will be joining the Gay Straight Alliance. All in all, I would say it was a pretty great first day of school. You always hear some horror stories about kids who change school districts and end up not making any friends. I guess you could say I got extremely lucky. Not only did I have a good group of kids to hang out with, but they were actually the "popular" kids in the school. Now don't get me wrong, I am not the kind of person to get all caught up in the whole "society" aspect of high school. However, I am looking at this from a tactical perspective. Assuming most of them are ok with me being gay, when I come out, I shouldn't have to worry about being cut off socially. I mean let's face it, as much as I would like to say it wouldn't bother me if everyone turned their back on me when I come out, it fucking would. I do need friends, so to have the people everyone looks up to as friends is absolutely perfect for me. And they are great people, or so they seem. Ok enough thinking, time to research some colleges. I haven't really looked West Coast since Duke seemed like the obvious choice when we were living in North Carolina. Now, I think I may take a look at Pepperdine or Stanford or maybe even USC. While I was sitting on my bed browsing the information for these various pre-law programs, Annie appeared in my doorway with two bottles of cream soda. Ok she is totally up to something. "Hey brother! How was your first day?" She inquired while handing me a bottle and plopping herself down at the end of my bed. "Pretty great actually," I replied, "Alright so you only bring me a cream soda when you have to convince me of something or you have a favor to ask. So which is it?" "Jeez can't I just bring my awesome, nice brother his favorite drink for no reason?" She asked, looking hurt. "Oh you can, but you just don't ever do such a thing!" I tease. "Wellllll....ok yeah you're right. So you and Isaac really seemed to hit it off huh?" "I know where you are going with this Annie. I highly doubt he is gay. Yeah he definitely seems like a great guy, but I just didn't get the gay vibe," I said. She always wants to pick guys out for me ever since Nathan. I don't think she trusts my judgment. I know she means well, but I don't like her babysitting me. I think I could find a boyfriend on my own. But she does have a point maybe. "Well he is really cute. I think he would be perfect for you! He is smart like you, he likes hockey like you, and you guys pretty much look alike!" Annie stated. "Well since you apparently have a list of his pros, why don't you go after him? I think he would make a great boyfriend for you too!" "Because Kayde, I think he is even more perfect for you! Yeah I could maybe see myself dating him, but you saw him first. Don't think I didn't hear you gasp when we turned from introducing ourselves to Mr. Harrison. I am not gonna take your dream boy!" "Well thanks Annie I appreciate it. I won't lie, I could also see myself maybe dating him. Obviously I will have to get to know him better before I would ask him out or whatever. But the potential is certainly there. I am not gonna push anything. If it's meant to be, it's meant to be!" "Sounds like a great strategy to me! I completely agree though. I think we made some good friends today. It's great that they are all going to join the GSA with us. That should make you feel better!" Annie said. "Oh for sure," I replied. "If they can learn a little more about the homosexual lifestyle, they should be more accepting of me when I come out. They seem like truly nice people. We got really lucky today!" "Oh I completely agree. I think we should really enjoy our time here. Let's make it count bro, we are almost done with high school!" Annie exclaimed. "I KNOW!!! It's insane how quickly the time has passed. Speaking of which, I think it's about time for me to go to bed. Thanks for the chat. Good night Annie, I love you!" I say while giving her a hug. I am so thankful that we are so close. It makes being gay a hell of a lot simpler. "Good Night Kayden. I love you too!" Annie replied before walking down the hall to her own bedroom. Ahhhhh fuck Annie! I was really trying to avoid those thoughts though! I knew she meant well, but this isn't what I really needed. Isaac definitely does seem like a great guy. I bet he would make a great boyfriend too! Great personality, great body, ughhhh!!!! That blonde-hair, blue eyed surfer boy look gets me every fucking time! Of course, it was the exact reason why I was so excited to move to California, but I didn't expect to find such a great guy on my first day of classes! Oh lord, I have no idea how I am not going to develop a crush on him at some point. It will feel like a waste though. I mean how many times does the perfect boy end up being gay? Not many I am sure. Well I think it will be best to try and keep my feelings at bay and just be friends with Isaac. Hell, there are a ton of guys at Orange Unified, I am sure there are other cute, nice, athletic, blonde, smart, gay guys there. Orrr....life could just be simplified and Isaac could actually be gay? Please? Alright brain, relax, stop thinking, and get some sleep. With all these AP classes, I can't afford to stay up late like this every night. This is going to be an interesting year for sure...
