Sometimes they turn the tides of fate to our favor like when you spill your coffee on a stranger then you notice that said stranger is the hottest piece of man meat that you have ever seen , or to our dismay when it only makes matters worse for your complicated life like when you finally get the courage to hit on that man meat only to find out that he is an out-loud and proud... homophobe. Accidents are a natural phenomenon that we take for granted. Small or big, they will always make significant effect in our lives. The car drive to Westerlake, California was boring. Usually our car trips are a way for me take in the scenery of the new place that we move to. Ever since I can remember my mother and I have been moving city to city, town to town. Because when my mother decides it's time to pack, it's time to pack. Now don't get us wrong, we're not poor or anything that we have to keep moving to keep away from loan sharks nor are we so rich that we simply get bored at staying in one place, seeing the same people everyday, going to the same school everyday, doing the same work everyday. No we are nothing like that. Our constant travelling has always been due to the fact that wherever we go misfortune always follows. Now when I say misfortune I don't mean any spooky supernatural crap but sort of.. God's way of making life interesting misfortune. My mom had always dreamed of setting off into the world fresh out of law school but one drunken night she and a fellow law graduate had a little ... details are not required for this part. So lo and behold that's when I came into the picture. My mom was forced to stay put in that miserable town that she grew up in to care for me. She and my "father" then got married. It wasn't until three years later when they figured out that they weren't in love so they got a divorce. Mother dearest couldn't take it anymore so we moved to another town where I grew up into my middle toddler years. Life was good there I guess and it certainly felt like home to us. I had gained a few friends and my mom had become quite a popular member of group of housewives on the street. But my mother said that something was missing. I was oblivious to adult affairs at the time so I just went along with my mothers decision unaware that it was really because her company had been sued for something my mother did so we hi-tailed it out of there. All I can say about that situation is that my mom can sometimes forget to think first before she speaks. My third home city was quite an interesting experience. My mom had actually married. For a while I really thought that it would work and we would stay in that city for a long time. Two years into the marriage we find out that mom's husband has been sleeping with his golf buddy. No his golf buddy wasn't a man. It was actually a woman. It wasn't really like we would have seen it coming. Who knew the Alex that he was always talking about was only short for Alexandra? At the time my mom was all tears and crap about it but now we sort of laugh about the whole situation now that we think how stupid it was. That and we did manage to mooch some very sweet moolah in the divorce proceedings. And before you jump to conclusions if you think about it, the guy did deserve it and I sure as hell don't regret it. Especially not when I can enjoy that moolah on an Ivy League College (of my choice). Did I mention that that guy was extremely loaded? My mom did not marry him for money... or did she? Hard to tell with my mother. The fourth and by far the quickest home I have stayed in is really where things get really weird and interesting. There was really nothing special about that place but after that freak accident life hasn't been easy. I was sixteen at the time. I remember that day fairly well. I had just gotten off school to go home. I was driving. As I drove through that town passing by the local park which was at the center of the town, the local cinema where I always hung out with my friends, the large white marble town hall and the local clinic I suddenly realized that in the short two months of our staying here I could have gotten used to that place.I thought that if I had to stay in that place for the rest of my teenage life until I had to go to college I could be happy. Then BAM! I collided with another vehicle that had straddled my part of the road. Contrary to my mother's belief It wasn't all his fault, I could've avoided his car had I paid more attention. The front side of my car hit his side and my car was sent spinning into a small clothing boutique. Luckily no one was inside the store at the time. Me? not so lucky. An overhead air conditioning thing fell on top of my windscreen and broke the glass. At the same time my car collided into a pillar which stopped the car. This then threw me forward. And with eyes open the falling glass pierced through my retina. The pain was excruciating. Never again can I sarcastically say "I'd rather stick glass in my eyes". I passed out from the pain. Later in hospital when I had regained consciousness my doctor said that I would never be able to see in both eyes again. So there we were my mother bawling her eyes out. Me... well I couldn't cry and instead had produced angry tearless cries of pain. Then things got weirder. In that afternoon a woman had been announced brain dead. She was an organ donor. My doctor ran some tests and it all looked positive. So I had been prepped up for surgery and was set for a cornea transplant. The guy that hit me actually came into my room before my operation. My mother told me later that he was relatively unscathed in the accident, Lucky bastard. He expressed his genuine and heartfelt apologies to us. It seemed like that guy really wasn't that bad at all. From what I could tell from his voice he was sort of middle-aged, I guess around his forties. My mother said she thought so too from the way that he looked. He said that he wouldn't blame us for pressing charges and that the least he could do was pay for all the hospitalization and rehabilitation afterwards. My mom was really giving hell to the guy. But I thought that he really was just a nice person who had just made simple mistake and as I had said earlier it wasn't entirely his fault. So I said that we wouldn't press charges. So here we are. Driving to Westerlake City to start a new life.. again. "Maybe when we get there you can finally get a boyfriend?" she says casually like it was no big deal at all. To this day I still can't believe she's okay with me being gay. When I came out to her when I was fifteen she simply replied "So?". This was followed by a blank stare of disbelief from me. "Oh god. Stop mom it's weird. You're not supposed to be the one encouraging me. Aren't you supposed to be the one to say boyfriend later studies first." I replied. "Well Ty - (Ty is short for Taylor) - You of all people should be well used to the fact that in this world shit happens. And when it does, I just don't want you to be alone okay?" She smiled. My mom is pretty. I don't mean that in a sexual way. Ew. She has long chestnut brown hair and deep chocolate eyes. She's quite in shape for a woman in her forties and looks quite younger as she has no wrinkles or anything. Maybe it's because it's she's also a health fanatic. "Mom. Stop." I say scratching my eyes. I still had bandages covering my eyes. Mother had suggested that the first thing I should see when I get my eyesight back should be our new home, and somehow this excludes the time the doctor tested if my new eyes were working or not. I have never had a boyfriend in my life. It's not like I'm afraid. There are times when I see a really hot looking guy and fantasize about ramming my face between the cheeks of his hot bubble but. The only thing that I have ever done that's any way sexual is my nightly hotdog massage from good ol' righty. At this point I'm actually desperate. I'm not bad looking if that's what your thinking. Blonde hair, blue eyes (before the accident), toned body from swimming and an impressive seven inch dick (not that anybody would see it, mind you.) My mom's health fanaticism rubbed of on me. However my gaydar is pretty much non-existent. So no boyfriend for me. I felt the car stop. "Finally, I can stretch out my legs now." I said happily. "We're not there yet honey. We're lost. I'm just gonna ask this young man for directions." My mom does not have a good sense of direction. I then heard the automatic window going down on my side. "Excuse me, Hey you!" she yelled. "Hi, would you be so kind as to tell me how to get to Greenedge Drive?" My mom asked nicely. Trying to make up for the fact that she had just shouted at him. "Sure, Right down this street there's a fork on the road you take the left, then it's the next left after the traffic lights. I was just heading there myself actually" this came from what I could tell was an upbeat teenage male voice around my age. "Oh then, why don't you climb in for a lift then. Taylor honey could you sit back I can't see the boy." I silently cursed my mother for making this situation awkward for me. She's only offering a ride because she's going to forget the directions the guy just said. "Hey there" the guy said addressing me.. I think. "Hi" I said. Well this is awkward. I heard him walk around to the back side door on my side and he came in. "So which way do we go again?" my mom asked trying to sound non-chalant. I quietly laughed to myself. The guy gave her the directions again. "So I take it you guys are new here. You're the ones who're moving in to that house in the drive I'm guessing? I'm Jared by the way" Jared said. "Well I don't know which house that is but yes we are moving into Greenedge Drive" my mom said. "Hey mom did u get my jeep delivered to the new house?" I asked trying to get a part in their conversation. "Wait, you drive?" Jared asked be-wildered. Then realizing what he had just said. He quickly apologized. "Oh sorry man. It's not any of my business you don't have to answer that." he said quietly. "It's okay dude really. I'm not blind.. anymore. I had a cornea transplant." I said trying to quell his embarrassment. "That's great ummm.. Taylor I'm happy for you" he said still embarrassed. "We're here" my mom interrupted. My mom parked on I presumed our driveway. I opened my door and enjoyed the gentle warm cool breeze that blew on that summer's day. Deciding that now was the time to take the bandages off I pulled of the soft cotton material that had been wrapped around my eyes. Stupidly I had also decided to walk towards what I hoped was the direction of the house. I tried to take another step with my right foot as I unveiled my eyes when it met something hard, must've been a rock or something. I was thrown off balance and was sent careening to the ground. Suddenly I felt a pair of arms wrap around my chest and abdomen momentarily stopping my descent. It was then that I could tell that it was Jared because of his cologne. Nice smell. The momentary stop then stopped when he underestimated my weight (while I was by no means fat, I was also not that light; I had some muscle in me you know) and we were both falling towards the ground. I fell face first into the grassy lawn and I felt Jared fall right along beside me. I looked towards my side. I opened my eyes. The bandage must've fallen off because of the incredible sight that was in front of me. There was Jared. He was a beautiful sight indeed. Sandy blonde hair, amazingly green eyes that when I looked into them I thought I was lost in some deep, lush jungle of green, perfect luscious lips, quite a muscly body but not too muscly (just the way I like 'em) and a healthy tan from the famous californian sun that made him look like an Abercrombie model. I noticed that he had on a t-shirt and some running pants. He had been jogging. I would've creamed my jeans right then and there, were we in a more comfortable setting. I was not expecting to see this beautiful specimen to be the first thing that I saw when I got my sight back. "Whoa.." I said completely dumbfounded. "Wow.." He said at the same time. I noticed that he was staring right into my eyes. His eyes wide with awe? I then felt self-conscious. What's wrong with my eyes? It must be really bad for him to react like that. We both noticed that during our fall and the little staring competition we had, he kept his arms around me. So we quickly pulled apart and stood up. I hadn't noticed that my mom had gone into the house during our little incident. She came back out looking surprised that my t-shirt was covered with green from the grass. Then she had that knowing look in her eyes that told me she knew something was going on. "Thanks for the help Jared," she smiled "Can I ask you another favor though? You see, well I see Taylor took of the bandages. It's the first time he can see normally and it's been a while. Maybe you could come back later and help him set up his room? You can have dinner at ours afterwards as repayment" she asked smiling that knowing smile. "Sure Mrs. umm..." he began. "Hemsworth" I said. He looked at me. I looked away. He was just too gorgeous. "Yeah, I'll come by later Mrs. Hemsworth." Jared said. "Thank you" my mom said as she turned to go inside. "I guess I'll see you later then Taylor" he said again staring intently into my eyes. "Um... Call me Ty" I said. I must've turned ten shades of red. "Later man." He walked away as I walked towards our front door. When I reached the front door I looked around he was standing at the door of the house next door to ours smiling at me. How interesting, we're neighbors. I smiled at him and then went inside. I closed the door behind me and just stood there for a while my back against the door. I'm in love... ***** Author's Note ***** Hey guys! So I've been reading a lot of Nifty stories for a good long while now and have been thinking of writing a story. So here it is my own thought up story. I have no idea what came over me to actually start writing but I find it incredibly fun to do. Except the time when halfway through this chapter I stupidly closed down my browser without saving it and then I ended up losing a huge chunk of material I had written. I was beyond pissed off. This idea really is just an impulse decision. I only started now since it's summer and I have a lot of free time in my hands. So hopefully I'll be able to get new chapters as quickly as possible if you like it. Now that I'm writing a story I kinda realize just how important it is to receive comments. Sort of makes me feel guilty about not writing to some authors who's stories I've read. It's nice to know when your work is being appreciated you know? And hopefully ya'll won't flame me too bad! If there's anyone out there that is free to edit this story you are more than welcome to. Just e-mail me at fictionstories@live.co.uk P.S. I get amused easily so don't expect too much. Haha ;)
