Let me know what you think wanna_get_lucky@hotmail.com Don't read if you ain't 18 or you don't like us gay guys! Chapter 3 - Late Dawn, Early Dusk "Danny," he said softly, I listened to the silence as he paused before finishing his sentence. It was a cold deadly silence, one that you might expect to face in a haunted house or something. There was nothing to be heard, no breaths, no movement, no distant cars, absolute deathly silence. He repeated; "Danny, we can't be friends anymore." I felt faint, my world was spinning around me. I couldn't breathe. I felt like my heart had been ripped out of my chest and smashed with a sledge hammer in front of my dying eyes. I wanted to scream, die and turn back time all at the same instance. "Danny, calm down." "I'm so sorry, Conner. Please can you not just pretend that this never happened. I'll change, I promise, I'm so sorry. Please give me another chance." I was desperate. I couldn't let him walk out of my life without trying to stop him. I was begging, something I never made a habit of. This was different though; I could actually feel my heart rip into two when he said that we could no longer be friends. I had to beg. I had to keep him in my life. I had to keep him near me. I had to try and change for him. All these thoughts were running around my head so fast. He had only told me to calm down a second ago. I had somehow managed to get a better grip on myself now and was more composed so that he could see that I would try to stop feeling the way I did. I was waiting in fear that he would stand and walk out of my life. I knew that any second now this would happen. I mustered up the courage to look up at his face. He was kneeling down next to me. He looked me in the eye. "Danny, we can't be friends" he said again. "Because now I know you feel the same way about me, I want us to have so much more." My body's reaction stopped me from crying. The shock of what he had just said rocked my brain. "What?.What did you say.Say it again." I said quietly and slowly looking at him through confused eyes. He looked at me, only this time my fears weren't blocking my view. I knew what he had said. For the first time I could see in his eyes what I had felt in myself for what seemed like my entire life. He said nothing, instead he slowly leant forward. Not once did our eyes separate their new found connection. I felt his warm breath flow gently over my chin. As I cocked my head ever so slightly on it's side I felt his hand brush up against my cheek. I swallowed loudly as he stroked my face and my lips finally met his. He kissed me ever so gently, yet it felt so invigorating. All the solitude I had felt in my life, all the times I had ever believed that nobody would ever fall in love with me were suddenly blasted away for what promised to be forever and all by such a gentle touch from such soft lips. Any inhibitions were relinquished as a shiver made it's way down my spine. And we both leant simultaneously into each other. We kissed each other only this time so much more passionately. As each of our tongues frantically and forcefully explored each other's alien mouth a tear rolled down my face, only this time and for the first time in a long while, it was a tear of joy. Our lips parted all too soon and we just looked into each other's eyes. My true love showing finally to the most important person in my life, my dream had come true. I felt like I was going to explode, my heart pounded so hard. We were creating our own little world in which we would care and love for each other merely by peering into each other's eyes. There was more to see than that, I could see Conner's soul and I knew he could see mine. "Wow!" Something happened when I heard that word, I was pulled out of joint. Out of Conner, it seemed. My concentration had been broken, I looked round and noticed both Kate and my brother Sean looking at us in amazement. I saw Conner turn his head from the corner of my eye to look at what I was so worried about. "Wow!" my brother said again. He had a look of shock on his face. "Sean? Are you OK?" I asked nervously. I knew Kate didn't care at all that I was gay, but I had just done something that could be very stupid should my brother have a problem. "You're.you're.gay?" he asked stunned. "Yes, I am." He looked at the floor looking a little flushed. He fell silent again in contemplation. "Sean, what are you thinking?" "About how I never realised." He answered sounding a little angry. My heart began to sink from the high that it had made it to only a minute or so ago. "He's still your brother Sean. He hasn't changed as a person, he just likes different things than you do that's all." Kate told him, I already knew that score. Sean was getting the speech, it seemed. Only a less aggressive version, maybe. "Why didn't you tell me?" he asked seeming a little more angry now. "Why did you have to show me that way? I didn't want to know!" His temper had begun to rise a little quicker now. His quiet anger was becoming shouts. "It wouldn't have gone away Sean, you would have found out sooner or later. Plus I never intended for you to find out that way. We have no excuse for that and I am sorry. You have to realise that I can't help it, I never chose to be gay just like you never chose to be straight, OK?" I was trying my very best to calm him down. He shifted his eyes from their random search of the room which had accompanied his confusion to settling them on Conner in a look of anger. "YOU turned him like that didn't you?" "HEY!!! Don't you dare blame Conner for this, I have always been gay since I first started becoming attracted to people, I never looked at girls, I couldn't. It's not my nature." At that Sean's emotion changed evidently to that of guilt. "I'm sorry," he said after a few seconds of silence, looking at Conner and then me, "I guess it's a lot to deal with for me so quickly. I don't know what to feel, you've got me really confused." "That's because you've always assumed that I was straight, I really am the same person though Sean. You shouldn't be angry, I am still your brother." He sort of grinned at that comment, I suddenly felt so much more at ease. "Does mum and dad know?" "No only the people in this room. Are you OK with this?" "I guess I don't have much choice, after all it is your life. It's going to take some getting used to though so don't let me catch you blowing each other off any time soon OK?" I started laughing at his comment, he smiled and then couldn't help but laugh himself. Soon everyone was laughing. I suddenly felt like a millionaire again. I turned and grabbed Conner's hand and asked; "So does this mean we're a couple then?" "I hope so." He replied taking me in with his smiling eyes once again, I resisted kissing him again with everything I had in me so as to honour my brothers request. "How about a toast for the new love birds then?" Sean asked. More to stop the show of affection than to celebrate his only sibling turning out to be gay. I smiled at him lovingly though, showing my gratitude for the peace we had settled his initial shock with. ***** "What the fuck took you guy's so long?" Claire asked as we finally arrived at her doorstep. "You know Danny," Sean said. "When he's choosing his clothes he'll be hiding in his closet and then all of a sudden he'll come out, all ready." I flashed a panic stricken look at my brother. He looked at me with a smile on his face. I laughed realising that he would never 'out' me like that. Claire smiled and opened the door to her house and party fully, she obviously hadn't picked up on the pun, she seemed to be already quite drunk. "Happy Birthday!" I wished Claire kissing her on the cheek and handing her a wrapped up Teddy Bear for her to add to her collection of presents. The others gave her their presents for her and we made our way to her huge living room to join the hoards of people who were already helping Claire to celebrate. I made my way to the corner of the room where there was an easy chair that was free. I turned my head periodically to check that Conner was still following me, I sat in the chair and Conner sat on the arm of it. I had to stop myself from placing my arm around his slender waist when I was already half way there. He smiled at me, obviously knowing the mistake that I had nearly made. "Later!" he whispered in my ear. I must have been blushing quite badly because the disco lights that had been set up were mostly making this area of the room look red and Conner was laughing at me. As the evening wore on I got gradually more and more drunk. I could feel my walking becoming gradually less steady and my vision more blurred. Trix approached me for what must have been the thirtieth time that evening (he gets extremely sociable with as many people as possible when he's drunk) and handed me a beer then beckoned me to follow him. I did so and we arrived at the music system which had been pumping out chart music since I arrived. He paused the song gaining everyone's attention. "Everybody," he announced slowly, a little worse for wear; "If you have never seen my best mate Danny here down a beer watch now!" I noticed that Conner had the best viewpoint for my party trick, he was smiling, evidently enjoying himself and swaying slightly too. The beer hadn't been opened yet, I opened it and then looked to see what it was. Stella, not my favourite, but drinkable. I looked at it and then looked and smiled at my large audience; "Are you ready?" I asked my intent audience. "Yeah!" They all shouted together. I put the can to my lips and quickly tipped my head right back, I began taking huge gulps from the can as I had done many a time before. As the last drops slipped into my mouth I held the can out and upside down so that my audience could see that only a few drops had been left in it. "FIVE SECONDS LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!" announced my commentator Trix. I smiled and gave an over dramatised bow. The party began to die down later in the evening, leaving only our usual group of friends sitting in the living room having already collectively cleared up the majority of the mess. "I think that's the last of the cans." Scott said proudly. "Thanks for clearing up guys. Especially to whoever it was who cleared up the stain in the hallway." "That was me, it's alright." Conner told her, I beamed proudly at him. We had all pretty much sobered up by now, except for Trix and Luke. "That was a pretty fun evening Claire, thanks a lot." Said Trace looking disappointedly at Trix who was doing his best to stand up. "Don't mention it!" "We all had a great time Claire." I added. "I'm glad." She said. "Look, your parents are going to be back soon so I had better split. Come on you two, let's go." I said to Conner and my brother who both got up at the same time. "Danny, could I crash at yours tonight do you think?" DAMN! I thought to myself, Scott enjoyed staying at mine and it had been a regular thing, but I had had plans for my evening as I'm sure you would have guessed. How was I going to say no? "Oh, but Danny you promised I could stay in your room tonight with Conner and you, there wouldn't be enough room if Scott came too. Can't you stay tomorrow Scott? Please?" "Would that be OK Scott?" I said feeling so proud of my quick thinking brother who had obviously realised that I would have had plans. Scott looked pretty upset but like I said, I had plans. "Yeah, sure. If it's OK for tomorrow, aren't your parents back?" "They won't mind." I said knowing full well that they would. "OK" he responded seeming pretty depressed. I looked to Conner who had a 'that was close' smile on his face and was glad to see that I wasn't the only one who had plans! I caught myself in one of those lost smiling gazes into Conner's eyes, looking like a broke drugs junkie who had just found a fiver on the floor or something. I snapped myself out of it and strangely found myself looking straight at Claire. She had a none too pleased look on her face which made me inadvertently put one of those guilty faces on, as if I was a five year old and my mum had just caught me with my hand in a chocolate box right before dinner. "Can I have a word with you quickly before you set off Danny?" "I'm pretty tired actually Claire can't it wait till morning?" "It won't take a second" she said with finality and walking to the kitchen. I thought it best to follow, worried as I was. I went into the kitchen as she turned on the lights. She turned and looked at me as if to say 'I could kill you right now.' "What was that about?" "What do you mean?" "That smirk you gave Conner right after you told Scott he couldn't come back to yours. That's what!" "I don't know what you mean, if I was smiling then it had nothing to do with not having Scott round tonight. I'm not leaving him out on purpose, I did promise Sean that he and Conner could stay in my room." "Are you fucking Conner Danny?" I didn't look guilty or worried, I looked angry. Mostly because of the little tact that she had used. "What the fuck is that supposed to mean Claire?" "What do you think it is meant to mean Danny? Are you fucking him, it's a simple enough question." "What makes you think that I would want to?" "The dopey smile that comes on your face whenever Conner is around. The fact that you never shut up talking about him. The fact that you have become inseparable since he started hanging around with us all, those subtle hints among other things." "So I can't smile at people now and I can't talk about my friends either without you thinking I'm gay?" "No you can't smile the way you do or talk about people the way you do without me seeing what I know is there. You can lie to me and say that it isn't true, but I thought that we were better friends than that. I know you're gay, because I can see the love in your eyes when you look at Conner. I know what that look is Danny because I can see it in Scott's eyes whenever he looks at you!" The words sunk their teeth slowly into me. So many images and memories fell into place. How could I have not seen this before? How could I have been so blind? "Oh my God!" "Well?" "He loves me? Oh my God, what am I going to do? Should I tell him? Oh no! Should I tell Conner, I don't want him to think that I'm trying to make him feel guilty, but as soon as I walk out that door he's going to know that there's something wrong. I can't lie to him." "I knew it" "Claire you have to understand that I couldn't lead Scott on, but I could never let go of Conner." "I know how you feel, I'm in love with Scott, really." She wasn't angry with me now, she was being more sympathetic. "This is all pretty fucked up right here. Let me get this straight, Conner and I are in love with each other, Scott is in love with me and you are in love with Scott." "That about sums it up." "Fuck. This has been one hell of a night for me you realise. I've found out that two people are in love with me, one of them is a really good friend and the other is the guy who I love back." "I think we should worry about this tomorrow Danny. We need our sleep, it's late. Before you go though, did you ever realise how Scott felt?" "Not until you told me." "OK, don't worry your secrets safe with me but I want you to tell Scott sometime soon OK?" "Yeah, I know. In some ways I wish you wouldn't have said anything you know?" "I couldn't help it, I love him. I had to tell you, I couldn't let you break his heart now could I?" "I understand." ***** "Sean, I can't thank you enough for helping me out tonight. It meant a lot to me." "Just consider it to be my blessing, I saw you tonight and how hard it was for the two of you to be with each other in public and I figured you should have some private time too. But let it be known, if you keep me awake tonight grunting and moaning, I'm gunna squeal on ya both, OK?" Conner and I laughed. "Whatever you say bro." "I think we should get to know each other better Sean, I might well be your brother- in-law one day." Conner joked. "Now there's a scary thought!" I turned the lights on in my bedroom and sauntered in. I took a look around, it looked the same, pale blue walls, a deeper blue carpet, two windows on two sides of the house, my desk on the wall to my left and my bed in front of me as I walked in and against the right wall. Posters, music system and telly and photos of me and the gang. Why did it feel so different in here? It was because only a number of hours ago it had housed my first kiss. That first kiss had been with the guy to whom I would walk through hell twice for. I loved him so much it hurt. I turned to look at him. He sat on my bed and was yawning. I knew what I should do. "I'll be back in a minute. OK?" I went through to the bathroom at the top of the staircase, Sean hadn't made it there yet. I went in and took my time in getting washed and brushing my teeth. I went back out and saw that Sean's bedroom door was open, I knocked on his door. "Yeah?" "Alright if I come in for a second?" "Uh huh." I walked in through his door and there he was sat on his bed with a guitar in his hands. "Since when have you had a guitar?" "James sold it to me, it's a bass." "I can see that. Why bass?" "Well the way I figured it is that everyone who wants to be in a band wants to be famous, so they learn the lead or rhythm guitar so that they are seen more and made more publicly prominent. So there aren't gunna be many bass guitarists around and so here I am, getting to be able to pick which mega famous band I'm in!" "You have it all worked out then?" "Yeah." We both fell silent then. After about ten seconds I asked him; "Sean, you're not too disappointed in me are you? Do you feel as though I let you down at all?" "No, I guess I don't really. Like I said earlier though, it'll take some getting used to. It's weird though because I can see how much you love each other and that seems to make me feel better about it. I thought at first that that might make it seem worse, but it hasn't done." I leant over and gave him a kiss on the cheek. He looked at me and smiled. "Don't get all mushy on me now ya fairy!" I smiled at him taking his joke to be just that. I could tell that he didn't think of me any differently and that made me feel so much better and more at peace with myself than I had done in years. "Night Sean" "Night Danny" I closed his door behind me. As I did so I heard him cry out; "Ride 'em cowboy!" I laughed to myself as I walked back down the corridor to my bedroom. I went in and saw that Conner had fallen to sleep as I thought he might have. It was for the best, we were both really tired, had a fair amount of alcohol in us and were emotionally exhausted from our busy day. We had waited this long, why not a little longer? I climbed into bed next to my new boyfriend and pulled the sheets over the two of us. As I placed my arm over his chest and held him close to me I heard him calmly sigh and knew that I would be in love with this boy forever. ***** I lay in bed and suddenly realised that I was awake, a strange feeling. The sun was poking in through from behind the curtains. I placed my hand on top of my boyfriends as he gently stroked my arm. He jumped a little and turned his eyes to me with a start. He looked at me with his beautiful smile, I smiled back and lifted my head to give him a kiss. It was so satisfying to know that every time I needed one from now on, all I had to do was lean my head towards his. I couldn't believe how amazing each kiss we had shared up to this point had been. Every one had seemed to draw me deeper in love with him. I just couldn't stop falling for him, my love was more powerful after every time he smiled at me, his body touched mine and I looked into his blue eyes. "Morning gorgeous." He greeted me. "Morning babes!" I responded. It felt so good to let him know that I considered him to be my baby, to let him know how I felt about him finally. "I could get used to this!" Conner said happily. "What's that?" I asked. "Waking up next to you, knowing that you are all mine and that you feel the same way about me." "OK, well don't get too used to it just yet, my parents get back this afternoon and they've never been keen on Sean and I having friends stay over when they're at home. They say they want their quiet time. When they're not away on business that is." "We can stay at mine then. My parents won't care, they've been dying to meet you actually." "Oh?" I prompted him. "My mum was saying at dinner on Thursday that they can't wait to meet the guy that I have my head in clouds over. They don't know that I have you yet." I looked at Conner in amazement. "Your parents know?" "Yeah, I told them about a year ago. My older brother already has kids so they don't have the family name to worry about. They're cool with it, my dad was a little upset at first I could tell, but he doesn't care anymore." "Wow, I never even thought about telling my parents. It was something I was hoping to avoid for a good while yet." "I was pretty scared, my dad always used to tell gay jokes and everything. I thought he'd be really pissed off but luckily he wasn't too bad about it." "My parents never really talk about stuff like that with me. They never really tell jokes either come to think of it! Oh well!" "Will it be alright if I grab a shower?" "Go for it, would you like a bacon sandwich?" "Wow, you're cooking for me and we've only been going out since last night?" Conner said jokingly. "Yeah! You sure hit the jack-pot there huh?" I joked back, he gave me a smile which let me know that he truly thought he had. I know I had. ***** "Hi, is Conner there please?" "No, I'm afraid he's still not back yet. Is it Star again?" "Yeah, sorry I'm calling so much. Do you know where I might be able to reach him?" "No, but I can see that I might just have to get him that mobile he asked wants for Christmas! He is staying at a friends that's all I know. I'll tell him to call you the second he gets in Star OK?" "OK, sorry to disturb you again. Bye." "Bye" "The phone doesn't stop for that boy." Conner's dad complained to his wife. "He's certainly popular with the girls in this new town isn't he?" "Shame there not popular with him." Mr Shears joked. "Hunny, you know I don't like you joking about that, if he hears you one day he might take you seriously. Don't risk upsetting your son like that please." ***** "Hope there's enough bacon left for me Danny!" said my brother entering the kitchen still only in his boxers and T-shirt. "It's cooked already, just stick it in the microwave for a few seconds and it should be fine." "Wow, you cooked for me too?" "I always cook for you!" "Just pulling your leg Danny boy. Are you going out or something?" "Yeah, I need to speak to Scott about something and Conner has some stuff he needs to do. I'll be back for mum and dad though, don't worry." "I'll hold you to that, you know they'll just bitch at me if you're out. Its not as if I could stop you from going out anyway is it? They should complain to you, not me!" "I will be here, chill." "Both on secret missions huh?" "What?" Conner asked confused. "Danny's talking with Scott about something and you have some stuff to do. Very secretive this morning aren't we both?" Conner looked worried. "I need to apologise to Scott for spilling beer on his shirt again, I can't remember if I did or not last night." I lied. I still wasn't sure what to say to Scott about Conner yet, but I was meeting him in half an hour so I had to think of something quick." "How about you then Conner, care to elaborate on your stuff?" "Urm.well.I need a new .calculator for school, my old one broke and I need other stuff from town too." Conner looked as if he was hiding something. I wanted to ask, but thought it best not to. "OK." My brother seemed happy enough with his response so I thought that I might be reading too much into something that wasn't there. "Right, I should be off." I announced getting up from the kitchen table as Sean sat down with his bacon sandwich. I approached Conner who was sitting quietly at the table looking worried still. "Are you OK?" I asked him quietly bending over him and placing my arms around his neck. "Yeah fine." He answered half-heartedly. He'd been acting weird since he had rang home. He had seemed hesitant to ask to use the phone again, but I told him it wasn't a problem. After that second call, he seemed to be acting quite upset, but still I thought it best to leave it, I'd ask him privately later what was wrong. I leaned around him and we both positioned our heads to kiss each other again, Conner was smiling which pleased me. Just before I reached his lips, I stopped my head and took a look at Sean. He looked back at me, rolled his eyes and waved with one hand his consent to our more public show of affection. I smiled at him and then at Conner as our lips met again. ***** I was pacing backwards and forwards by the bench in the park where the gang usually meets up before school. Scott was going to arrive any second now, he was late already in fact. What should I tell him? I turned to retrace my footsteps for the thousandth time and I practically sent Scott flying when I bumped into him. "Owww! Shit Danny, watch it! You could have broken a good few ribs then if you were going any quicker." I looked at him and felt scared, I didn't want to hurt him. He had been such a good friend to me for so long now. "What's the matter Danny, you look like you've seen a ghost or something. What's happened?" "We need to talk Scott." "Danny you're scaring me, what's wrong?" I searched for words to answer his question, I was just going to have to spit something out. "I know how you feel about me." With the way that Scott's face went as pale as it did, I wasn't sure whether or not I had seen a ghost now. "H.h.how?" "Claire told me last night, the only reason that she did was because she had found out that I'm in love with Conner." I'd said it all now, I looked at my feet. I was afraid to look at his face. "Oh.well.hey come on. Don't feel bad about it. It's not your fault, I know how it feels to be in love, I understand totally. Is he.err.does.he feel the same about you?" Scott was close to tears I could tell. He was trying to play it down, but if he was truly in love with me and it wasn't some teen crush then I did know how he felt, thinking he wasn't loved back. "Yeah. He does. We've been going out since last night. We found each other and we are both in love." I felt so awful. I didn't want to crush him or anything. I felt like a truly evil person. "I'm glad, you deserve it. Look I should really be going, I have to meet my pseudo- girlfriend in ten minutes at the flicks. I still have an image to keep up you know?" "Scott, I'm so sorry, I had no idea all the time how you felt, I feel so bad." "Don't be stupid, I'm more than happy for you, both of you in fact." He said trying his best to get away from me as quickly as he could. "I'll ring you later Scott, OK?" I saw him nodding his head from the back as he ran through the park. I knew he was crying and I started to myself. I had really had a confusing couple of days. This was one pretty upsetting episode in my recent past, I just hoped that Scott would still feel that he could talk to me. ***** I walked through town, worrying about what Scott was doing right now, I doubt that he had really gone to the flicks, I think that was just an excuse. I felt so awful. I had really upset him. I think it broke his heart to know that I was gay and therefore theoretically within his reach, but that since I had fallen in love with someone other than him, I was still unattainable. I had wanted to go out with him on just one date to make him feel better or something, but that wouldn't have been fair on him, let alone Conner or myself. I started wondering if I might bump into Conner in town, he said that he was going in today. I hoped I would so that we could grab some lunch together or something. I walked into a newsagents and walked to the fridge. After inspecting it's contents I settled on taking a Dr. Pepper and went to the counter to pay. As I stood behind the last customer in line before me, I looked at the shelves behind the counter. When I put the drink down on the counter I said something that I hadn't said in over a year; "That and twenty Marlboro please." "Anything else me love?" queried the Lancashire lass in her annoying dialect. "Yeah a lighter too please" I left the shop and slowly and carefully peeled back the plastic wrapper surrounding the packet of cigarettes. I took out the centre one from the first row and put it to my lips. Like second nature I raised the lighter to the right level for the flame to greet the end of the cigarette and lit up. I inhaled deeply catching the back of my throat slightly. I had given up after two years of smoking over a year ago and had had no real urge to start again. I don't even know why I did now, it sort of just happened subconsciously. I walked through the town keeping a constant eye out for people that I wouldn't want to see me smoking. I decided that I should go to the back of the bus station where all the young secret smokers hung out. I made it round the back where there were loads of kids not much older than 12 smoking. They made me feel so old, I was legally old enough to smoke but it seems now-a-days that only 12 year old attention seekers and ageing women who sit in bars smoked. I sat down on a flower pot at the far end of the hidden alley. I looked up as the majority of the kids left the area. I finished the cigarette and went out having decided on catching a bus home. I approached my bus stop which was almost opposite the alley. I looked to see the time of the next bus. After about a minute I heard a kid shouting from the alley entrance, I looked over; "OWEN.Oy!.OWEN.DANIEL OWEN!!!" He had obviously been calling me for a while but I hadn't noticed, my mind was on Conner again! "Yeah?" I shouted back a little quieter than he had been shouting. I recognised him as a kid from my school, probably how he knew my name. "I think that might be your wallet up there!" he said pointing to the flower pot where I had been sat a short while ago. I felt my back pocket on my trousers and sure enough it was empty. I stood up and jogged to the edge of the pavement. Having checked that none of the Formula 1 bus drivers were bombing it down the road I crossed and ran to grab my wallet. I picked it up and turned around looking inside it to see that nothing had been taken. I looked at the kid who had told me about my wallet being on the floor; "Cheers!" I said smiling at him. "Do you want the money back in it?" "What money? There's none missing" "There should be! Don't us sweet little kids get rewards for helping people out anymore?" he asked cockily. "Here you go, probably more what you had in mind." I said giving him a couple of cigarettes from my packet. I didn't feel guilty, I started at about his age. Besides even if I didn't give him one, he'd probably end up trying to nick some old persons packet or something. "Cheers!" he said excitedly. I turned round fully to smile at him as I was leaving the alley way for the second time. Just before I tuned around to leave, something caught my eye. I looked over to the opposite corner from where I had sat and saw somebody who looked like Conner, he was in the shadow so I couldn't see his face properly. The guy was with a girl, I could see her well enough, she was the tramp in the year below me, Star Smart. She stood there obviously waiting to pounce on a new prey, she pulled the guy from the shadow to her in the blink of an eye and fastened her lips to him like a viper. They stood motionless, her holding this poor kid to her for about ten seconds. Then she let go. My heart sank. I stopped breathing. My eyes welled up instantly. I thought I was going to collapse. The tears that had formed so quickly began to freely pour from my eyes, I slowly backed out of the alley way shaking my head and my body in disbelief. It was Conner that was with Star, I could see him clearly now that he wasn't in the shadow. I felt my heart tear right down the middle. I just kept backing out of the alley way. Conner suddenly looked over to me. As a look of shock spread over his face he began to run towards me. As soon as he began to run, I turned and quickly began to run away from him. With my tears blinding me I couldn't see where I was running. I could tell that I had made it out of the alley way. As I continued to run, I heard a woman scream loudly, the screeching of brakes. I felt a sudden impact on the right hand side of my body, then nothing. So there you have it guy's, it's the longest so far. Something about me that loves cliff- hangers and suspense.
