Fup ****************************************************************************** FROM CHAPTER 37 "Never mind," Greg answered. David heard him roll around for a few seconds trying to get comfortable. "Night, man," David said. "Uh huh." David thought about the conversation for a few more minutes. After Greg's reaction, there was no way he was going to admit to anything. It would definitely freak out his roommate and then it would be all over the dorm. No sense in starting anything like that, David thought, then slowly drifted off into a slightly restless sleep. LIFE GOES ON - DAVID AND CHAD #38 - Stuporman The next two weeks were interesting. David tried to keep any form of sexual innuendo out of his conversations with Greg. He really didn't feel like another battle of wits with his roommate. Greg, however, hadn't reached the same decision. His conversations were full of barely concealed sexual hints. He was still taking every opportunity to shower with David and his 'teasing' didn't stop even there. David kept his mind otherwise occupied, not rising to the bait. His answers and comments were completely non-sexual and neutral. After a few days of failing to goad David into another word battle, Greg slowly eased off. He spent a lot of time with Mark and Vic, avoiding being alone with his roomie. After a vague explanation, his two neighbors seemed to figure what they didn't know wouldn't hurt them. Life once again settled into a routine. The weekend before he was going home for Chad's sixteenth birthday, he drove into town to look for a suitable gift for his boyfriend. He chuckled to himself thinking of the last time he had been in a mall to buy a gift for Chad. This time, however, it didn't take him quite as long. Purchase complete, he slipped by a five and dime store in the mall and bought wrapping paper and a card. The room was blessedly empty when he returned. He wrapped the gift and signed the card. David smiled as he thought that he'd give Chad his own personal birthday greetings sometime over the weekend. He placed the gift and card on the top shelf of his closet for safekeeping, then wandered off to the rec hall. David entered the rec hall to find Mark and Greg shooting pool at one of the far tables. He walked over to the video games and slipped a quarter into Missile Command, the only free game where he could surreptitiously watch his roomie and neighbor. As he killed incoming missiles, he watched as Greg and Mark joked and laughed as they played. His attention was concentrated on Greg. Greg would goose Mark as he leaned over to take a shot and the two would break out into laughter. Interesting. Mark, in turn, would use his cue to prod the sophomore as he was trying to take his own shot. "You're not very good," a voice interrupted his attention. He turned to find another student standing beside him, observing his play. "Yeah, not really into it. Wanna play?" David offered, stepping back from the machine as his last city was annihilated. "Yeah, thanks," the other student answered, digging into his pocket as David walked toward the pool tables. Greg was facing away, bent over the table to take a shot. He did have a nice butt, David observed. He looked back up to find Mark grinning at him. "Hey, ya weenie," he said as Greg took his shot. "Who's winning?" David asked. "You can win?" Greg asked, laughing. "Yeah, ya see that black ball there? The one with the eight on it?" David laughed. Mark rolled his eyes at David, then proceeded to take his own shot. "Well, Mark's pretty good," Greg complained. David smiled and watched as Mark pocketed two more balls, then missed. "Well, you can't trust him as far as you can throw him. He suckers you in, then runs the table." "I do not, I just like playin'," Mark argued. David laughed and nodded, sitting down on one of the benches along the wall. The horseplay he observed earlier was nonexistent as the two finished their game. Mark looked at his watch. "Got a hot date?" David asked. "Nah, gotta do some stuff. Like laundry," Mark answered. "Hey, you two play, we have almost another hour on the table, anyway." "Cool," David answered, raising his eyebrows at Greg. "Wanna?" "Yeah, sure. Are you any good?" "Nah, I suck," David grinned. "Your sexual interests aren't any concern here, Dave," Mark laughed. "Speaking of which," David answered, "Where's Vic?" He snickered at Mark. "Shut up," Mark laughed in reply. "He's studying." "Okay, cool, thanks," David smiled as Mark handed him his cue. "Watcha doin' tonight?" Mark asked. "Dunno, why?" "Thought the four of us could hit The Hole tonight." "It's only October, man. Need stress relief already?" David chuckled. "Thought it might be fun." "Well, I'm up for it," David replied. "How 'bout you?" Greg nodded, "Sure, sounds fun." "Let's plan on about eight-thirty, then," Mark said. "Cool, see ya then," Greg replied, racking up the balls as Mark turned away to leave. David and Greg turned back to the table. David matched his play to Greg's as the games progressed. He grew up playing pool, his parents had a pool table in the basement since he was younger. He and Kel had spent many nights playing for hours. David had an idea for a suitable pay back for Greg in mind, no sense in letting his plan slip out until he got back from home next week. The hour passed quickly as they traded wins. Greg kept his hands to himself during the time they were playing, making David wonder. As they walked back to the dorm, David began to lay the groundwork for his plan. "You know, you play pretty good. We oughta make it a regular thing." "Sounds cool, gotta make it worthwhile though," Greg answered. "Well, we'll think of something," David replied as they entered the dorm room. "Think I'm gonna take a shower, man. Get it out of the way before it gets crowded." Greg nodded, and sat on David's bunk as he changed into his gym shorts and retrieved his shower necessities. "Later," David said as he walked out of the room. Two of the showers were occupied when he entered, so he moved to one of the far heads and was adjusting the water when he noticed Greg enter the changing area and strip. He shrugged and stepped under the spray. One of the other students finished his shower and moved to the changing area. Greg moved to the just vacated shower, and turned the water on, throwing a brief grin at David. David turned away from his roomie and soaped his body, then rinsed. He ducked his head under the spray, and closed his eyes, shampooing his hair. He felt a presence at the next shower and rinsed his hair quickly, turning to see Greg had moved to the shower next to him. David glanced around the room to see they were the only two left. "Thought I'd keep ya company," Greg stated, rinsing off the soapsuds, "No sweat, almost done anyway," David said casually, keeping his eyes focused on Greg's face. He finished rinsing his hair and turned off the spray. "Catch ya back at the room." "Not gonna keep me company?" Greg asked. "You're a big boy," David smiled. Greg grabbed his crotch. "Yep, sure am." "Pervert," David laughed. "Not the only one," Greg answered, then began shampooing his hair. "Whatever," David dismissed, walking back to the changing area and drying off. He was just pulling on his shorts when Greg finished his shower and walked toward him. Absentmindedly, David's eyes quickly roamed over Greg's still wet body, then he shook his head and moved to the sinks to shave. "What's wrong?" Greg asked, moving to the sink beside him. "Wrong? Nothing. Why?" "Dunno, just seems like you're avoiding me a little." "Nah, just want to get this done and get something to eat." "Oh, okay, if that's all it is." "Yep. Catch ya in the room," David replied, grabbing his things and heading back to the room. He was dressed except for socks and sneakers when Greg returned in his bathrobe. David sat back on his bunk and pulled on his socks as Greg dropped the bathrobe and pulled on his briefs, facing away from David. Slipping on a pair of jeans, Greg walked over and sat on his desk chair, facing David. "Hey, look, I want to apologize for all that stuff last week." "What stuff?" "You know, all that queer stuff." "Oh, that? Don't worry about it. It's cool," David smiled. "Okay, I thought maybe that's why you were mad." "Greg, I'm not mad. And wasn't mad, okay?" "Alright, cool." David finished slipping on his sneakers, and grinned at Greg. "I don't care if you're that way or not," he laughed. "Shut up," Greg grimaced. "Let's not go there again." "No sweat." David looked at the clock. "Wanna grab some food?" "Is that what you call it?" Greg chuckled, standing up. "For want of a better word, yeah." Greg laughed and finished dressing. They ate their fill and walked back to the room. "Man, it's only seven." "Poor guy, not looking forward to this are ya?" David asked. "It'll be fun." "Yeah, get all drunked up and throw up all the way back." "Not me," Greg assured. "I don't really drink." "Then you oughta be fine." "Yeah, so wanna play some cards?" The two played a furious game of 500 until they heard a knock at the door. "Hey," David greeted Vic. "Who's winning?" Vic asked, walking into the room. "He is," Greg complained, smiling. "Figures," Vic answered. "Y'all ready?" "Let's roll," David answered. They moved to Mark and Vic's room where Mark was just pulling on his shirt. "Jeez, Mark, thought you'd be ready by now," David laughed. Mark looked at him and spread his arms to his sides. "The stud is ready," he laughed. David and Vic rolled their eyes at the other. "C'mon, stud," Vic snorted. "I'm so unappreciated," Mark answered as they left the room. "It's not that," David replied. "You're just mistaken." Mark's face clouded over and he jumped on David's back with a yell. "I'll teach you a lesson," he chuckled. "Which one? How to be a goof?" "Nah, you already know that one," Mark replied, slipping off of David's back. "Yep, one of the best lessons I've learned." "A plus," Greg laughed. The four of them continued to laugh and joke as they walked into town. Entering the bar, they found a table and ordered their drinks. As the evening progressed, David stopped after one beer and switched to soda as was his norm. The other three continued to drink, Greg more than the other two. David watched and listened as the conversation became more and more lively and, he grinned to himself, slurred. By eleven-thirty Mark and Vic were slightly tipsy and Greg was almost totally wasted. "Okay, you party reptiles, I think that's enough fun for one night," David grinned. "Awwww, c'monnnnn," Greg complained. "The night is s-s-s-still young." "He's always been a spoil sport," Mark added. "Spoil sport or not, you guys are over the top," David laughed Mark and Vic drained the last dregs of their beer and stood up, slightly unsteadily. Greg tried, but was unsuccessful in getting to his feet the first time. "Maybe I'll just stay here," he mumbled. "Not a chance, Greg. C'mon." Greg managed to rise to his feet, swaying slightly, using his hands to steady himself on the tabletop. "See? I'm fine." "Yeah, finer than froghair," David scoffed. Greg seemed to find the comment extremely funny and broke out into laughter. David rolled his eyes, noticing Vic and Mark had started making their way to the entrance. "C'mon, Greg, let's go." "Yes, daddy," Greg answered, then broke out into more laughter. "C'mon, Greg, or I'll take you over my knee." "You'd like that wouldn't you?" Greg laughed, moving around the table. "Yeah, right," David snickered as Greg began to meander toward the entrance, bumping slightly into other tables. David followed him, grinning widely. The exited the bar to find the other two leaning against the outside wall of the bar. "I think ol' Greggie had a little too much to drink," Vic observed. "Ya think?" Vic and Mark laughed as Greg leaned heavily against the wall. "Man, things have got to quit moving," he complained. "Poor, Greg, can't hold his alcohol," David said. "I need to lie down," Greg complained, pushing himself away from the wall and stumbling in the direction of the campus. Mark hung back slightly with David. "He's gonna have a rough night." David chuckled. "Oh, yeah." "Hope ya have a bucket," Mark laughed. "Trash can will work just fine," David responded. Greg was walking ahead with Vic as they made their way back onto campus. Mark and David had joined them and the four were slowly making their way back to the dorm when Greg stumbled and fell. "Big feet?" David asked Greg, holding his hand down to help his roommate up. "Dunnno," Greg slurred and grabbed David's hand, pulling himself back upright where he staggered against David. "You're a good friend," Greg said, wrapping his arms around David's waist. David laughed and extricated himself from Greg's arms. Mark and Vic were grinning at Greg's actions and words. "Greg," Mark said, "you're totally wasted." "Maybe," Greg answered, and slightly stumbled again. David sighed and wrapped his arm around Greg's waist. "C'mon roomie, time for you to get to bed." "You're a good friend," Greg repeated as he draped his arm across David's shoulders, supporting himself. "Yeah, yeah," David said as they started walking again. "I haven't drank that much in a looooong time," Greg observed, then laughed, sagging against David. "Hey, you gotta help here," David complained as he stumbled himself. "Ooookay, s-s-sorry." They entered the dorm, Mark and Vic stopping at their door. "Well, guys it was real," Mark grinned and nodded at Greg. "Watch him, man," he said to David. "Yeah, no sweat," David responded. "Catch y'all in the morning. I'm gonna get Stuporman here into bed." Mark and Vic laughed at David's comment. "A new superhero." "Don't think he'll feel too awful heroic in the morning," David chuckled and guided Greg to their room. He opened the door, and walked Greg inside, guiding him to sit in the desk chair. "Thanks, Dave," Greg said. "You're a good friend." "We've already established that," David laughed quietly. "You've been saying that all the way back." "Well, you are." "Whatever." "Man, I feel so weird," Greg sighed. David busied himself changing for bed, and more important, grabbing a trash can and placing it beside Greg, who was still sitting in the chair. "Look, Greg, get ready for bed, man." "Okay," Greg mumbled, standing up and almost immediately collapsing on the floor, laughing. "I fell down." David couldn't help but laugh. "Yeah ya did, now get up." "Think I'll just stay here." "No way, ya drunk. Get up," David chuckled, holding out his hand again. Greg grabbed it and yanked David down on top of him. "What the hell?" Greg hugged David to him again. "You're a good friend." "Greg, stop," David ordered, squirming out of Greg's grasp. "Awww, c'mon, Dave." David managed to free himself and stood up. "C'mon, get ready for bed." "Oh, okay," Greg grumbled, pushing himself to a sitting position and taking off his shirt. He managed to get it tangled around one arm and his neck and gave up. David laughed. "What's the matter? Lose the directions?" Greg sighed. "It doesn't work right." Still laughing, David managed to extricate his roommate from the tangled shirt. "There." "Thanks," Greg replied. He reached down to take off his shoes and socks. He fumbled a few minutes, then looked pleadingly up at David. "Help?" David shook his head, then removed the sophomore's footwear. He once again held his hand out. Greg grabbed it and managed to pull himself upright. He leaned against the bunks and unfastened his jeans, letting them fall to his ankles. He giggled drunkenly and shook his hips. "I'm a stripper." "You're drunk," David laughed. Greg nodded seriously, then broke into another bout of laughter. When he tried to step out of his jeans, he stumbled again and fell against David. David held his half-naked roommate up as he finally managed to step out of the puddled jeans. "Thanks," Greg mumbled and hugged David again. "No sweat, man," David replied, kind of enjoying the feel of Greg's warm body against his. Greg tightened his hug briefly, then let go. "You're a good friend," he said softly. "And your breath smells like a brewery," David laughed. "Sorry." "S'okay, been there, man. You're gonna feel like crap in the morning." Greg nodded with a goofy grin. "But I feel pretty good now." "You need to get to bed man." Greg dutifully turned away and tried to climb up on his bunk. After a couple vain attempts, he turned back around to David and grimaced. "I can't get up there." "Hold on a sec," David replied and pulled Greg's mattress off the bunk. Greg sat in the chair as David slid the mattress to the other side of the room and laid the blankets over it. "There ya go," he grinned. "Thanks." Greg stood up and weaved to the mattress, collapsing on top of the blankets. "Oh man," he moaned softly. "It's moving." David chuckled and slid the trash can over to the side of the makeshift bed. "Look, just close your eyes, and if you have to puke, do it in this, okay?" "Mmkay," Greg murmured, rolling onto his back, eyes closed. David looked over his drunken roomie's body. When his eyes got to Greg's face, the sophomore was grinning. "Not gonna take advantage of me are you?" Greg laughed. "Not a chance, goof, just go to sleep." "You can, you know," Greg said softly, closing his eyes. "No doubt, but you wouldn't respect me in the morning," David answered, laughing. "Maybe, just don't.....," Greg trailed off. David grinned, his roomie had drifted off. He puttered around the room a little before turning off the light and slipping into his bunk. ****************************************************************************** Well, there ya have it.
