Fup ****************************************************************************** FROM CHAPTER 3 "Maybe you better hadn't," Chad said. "If I can come over, I'll have mom or dad bring me." "Okay with me. Seriously, whenever you want, come on over." "I will, thanks," Chad replied, then opened the door and slid out of the car. Just before he slammed the door closed, he grinned and said, "Love you, man." Then he was running toward the house, leaving David stunned in the driveway. LIFE GOES ON - DAVID AND CHAD #4 - TGIF Detergent. Damn. David sighed, another trip to the store. He laughed to himself as he thought by the time he'd remember to get everything he needed, it would be September and time to go back to college. He picked up his keys and headed for the market for the fifth time this week. His first week at work had gone well, he actually enjoyed being able to use some of the stuff he had learned at school in his job. And the company he was working for this summer was pretty nice. Everyone seemed friendly enough, and were willing to share their practical knowledge with him. Later that summer, he would ask if he could work there next summer as well, since then he could get credits for his work. His phone was finally operational by Tuesday, and the first call he received was from his sister. She was interested in how things were going with him, and filled him in on the latest parental news. It was still obviously tense and there had been an argument or two, but his parents seemed to be accepting the fact that he couldn't stay there and remain sane. Lynn hinted around about maybe his mom visiting the apartment, but he brushed her off for the time being. There would be plenty of time for social calls after he was well-stocked and looked like he knew what he was doing. Chad had called on Wednesday evening, explaining that he couldn't come over the previous Sunday since the family had done some visiting. It eased David's mind a little, he thought there was a possibility that Chad had rethought their evening and was staying away. He had received permission from his parents to spend the night on Friday as long as David would come to dinner at their home. He enthusiastically agreed, both to the overnight and the dinner - he was getting a little tired of TV dinners - especially since there was no TV in the apartment. His grandmother had been the next caller, good-naturedly demanding an explanation from him the next time he visited. David figured he'd pay her a visit Saturday evening and face the music. It was almost time for dinner anyway. He'd take a shower, hit the market then head over to the Murray's. He quickly showered, and did his normal bathroom duties, grinning in the mirror. It was like a first date, he thought. Then David went through his closet, picking out jeans and a button-down shirt. Throwing them on, he looked at himself, smiled and headed out the door. He didn't spend long at the store, picking a box of detergent off the shelf - choosing what his mother had at home - he guessed he couldn't go wrong with that. He passed his house, not giving it a second look, and pulled into Chad's driveway. He wasn't quite to the door when it opened, revealing a grinning Chad. "It's about time, mom said we couldn't eat til you got here," the teen stated, ushering David inside, then to the kitchen. "Hi David," Chad's mom greeted from her position over the stove. "Dinner will be ready in 15 minutes." "Well, the way Chad talked, it was on the table and he was starving to death," David laughed. "I can't help it I'm hungry," Chad explained. "David, I hope you have plenty of food. The boy is a bottomless pit," came Mr. Murray's voice from the kitchen doorway. "I get the feeling I'm gonna have to hit the store again on the way home," David laughed in response. He turned and shook Mr. Murray's hand, getting a small grin from the man standing there. "No need to be so formal, David." Then he looked him over, "And where's your tie?" "Just thought I'd dress sorta nice, I wear grungy clothes almost all day." "Don't pay him any attention, David," Mrs. Murray answered. "I think you look nice." David smiled, then looked at Chad, who mouthed the same words and batted his eyes. David snorted, holding the laugh back, then Chad ushered him into the living room. He sat on the sofa, and Chad took one of the easy chairs. David raised his eyebrows, getting a nod toward the kitchen from the blond teen. He smiled in answer, and a few minutes later they were sitting around a table heaped with food. "Wow, you didn't have to do all this," David said, gesturing at the food. "Well, I figured a good meal would be a welcome change," Mrs. Murray smiled. "Dig in." Soon the only sounds were chewing and appreciative noises from the three males around the table. David blushed a little, reaching for seconds, getting a chuckle from Mr. Murray. "Glad we 'did all this' now, David?" he asked. "It's good. And yeah, I guess I am." "Well, what did you guys have planned tonight?" Mr. Murray asked. Chad shrugged and looked at David, who replied, "Probably take a drive, then play some games and listen to music." "Oh, no TV? Chad'll be real disappointed." "Daaad." "No, I don't have one," David answered, smiling. "Really no sense right now, I'm only there until school starts. And I don't watch a whole lot of it anyway." "Makes sense, I guess," Mr. Murray nodded. "Where's Cindy?" David asked, finally realizing someone was missing. "She's over at your house with Lynn," Chad answered. "I don't know how your mother puts up with two teenaged girls at her house," Mrs. Murray chuckled. David grinned, "So, what are you two going to do tonight?" Mr. Murray chuckled, "Enjoy the peace and quiet. Maybe work on getting Chad a little brother or sister." "Daaaad!" "Matt!" David laughed at both Chad and his mom's expressions, they were aghast. Mrs. Murray frowned, "No need to give away all our secrets, Matthew Murray." "That's just gross," Chad responded to his parents' teasing. David was still laughing, this was fun. Almost like being at Kel's. His expression changed slightly at that thought. Then he was gently kicked under the table. He looked over at Chad, who grinned. He pointed at his head then shook it negatively. David raised his eyebrows, was he that transparent? He flashed a matching grin at Chad, then pushed his empty plate away. "Man, that's enough, I'm stuffed." "Well, we have apple pie too," Mrs. Murray informed. "Karen, it's obvious the boys want to go out and chase women. Just wrap two pieces up and send it with them. And anyway, we have a date." "Gross," Chad commented again. Still chuckling, David took the two pieces of offered pie, thanking the Murrays for their hospitality, and waited for Chad to come downstairs with his stuff. Chad made his way down the stairs, bag in one hand and sleeping bag tucked under the other arm. "I'd offer to help," he laughed, "but I have dessert." "Yeah, right, I can manage, don't strain yourself," Chad answered with a grin. They said their farewells and started back to David's. On the way, they decided to slip by the store again for some breakfast food, drop Chad's stuff at the apartment, and cruise around a little. Gear and food stowed, David began driving out of town. Chad slipped in a tape, and grinned as the Doobie Brothers blasted out of the speakers. "Expanding your horizons?" he asked the teenager beside him. "Yeah, you told me to." "If I told you to jump off a building, would you?" David teased. "No, but I'd probably push YOU," Chad answered, laughing. "I see how it is," David's pout was short-lived, replaced by a smile. "You're a mess, you know that?" "Yup." David stopped at the market, buying some breakfast stuff, milk, eggs (which he could make without a major problem), and ice cream for their apple pie later. They then drove to David's, dropping off Chad's gear and the groceries on the kitchen table and headed back out. They drove randomly for a few more minutes, then Chad turned down the music and turned in his seat to face David. "So, I was right, wasn't I?" "Huh?" "About you and Kel." David sighed, "Yeah, I guess. But that was sort of a mean way to find out. You coulda asked." Chad laughed, "As if you would have told me." "Guess you're right," David admitted. "You're not gonna let it out, are you?" "Of course not, Dave. What? Do you think I'm stupid?" "Actually, no, just don't want anyone to know, that's all. You know how this town is." "Did Kel ever tell?" "No." "Well, then," Chad responded, crossing his arms over his chest. "Okay, okay, you made your point, kiddo. So where ya wanna go?" Chad shrugged, "You're drivin'." "Okay. And what was that little thing at the table tonight?" "Oh," Chad laughed. "You were thinking too much." "Well, sort of, but...." "One time Kel said that you thought too much," Chad grinned. "Oh? And when was this?" "A couple years ago, we were at the mall that time, remember?" "I think so, when we saw Star Wars?" "Yeah, we had a good time, huh?" "Sure did, Chad." "Dave, ummm, what all did you and him do?" "Huh?" "You know," Chad replied, blushing and turning to look out the window. "Like with each other." "Oh, umm, well, we played with each other a lot. I'd rather not get into the details, okay?" "Okay, I mean like did you..like...ummm," David looked over to Chad who was moving his loosely closed fist up and down in the air. "Yeah." "Oh, okay, I mean Alex and I used to do that kind of stuff too." "Really?" "Yeah, it was fun." "Don't do it anymore?" "No, he sorta started thinking it was dumb, so we quit." Then after a pause, he asked, "Dave, umm, do you like me like that?" "Like what?" "You know...," Chad responded, getting a little exasperated. "Ooooh, I understand," David said in a light tone. "Maybe." "But you liked Kel that way," Chad replied, a little upset, turning to face David. "Aren't I as good a friend as him?" "Whoa there kiddo, take it easy. I was just messin' with ya. Yes, you're just as good a friend. Just different, know what I mean?" "I guess." "It's like Kel was Kel, and you're Chad." "Okay," Chad answered. "Look Chad, don't worry any about the way Kel and I were, okay? I mean we were friends too. Like we did stuff together all the time besides," David made the same gesture as Chad had earlier. "Yeah, I know that. So how come you let me hang around you guys." "We thought you were pretty cool for a kid," David laughed. "Uh huh." "Chad, I don't want to mess anything up. I'm satisfied with being your friend, okay? Nothing else really matters." "Even if I pee the bed tonight?" Chad laughed. "The bed? You brought a sleeping bag. Thought maybe you were gonna sleep in the living room." "Would you be mad if I did?" "No." "Really?" "Really. Why would I be?" "I dunno, maybe because....," Chad trailed off. "Chad, listen, whatever happens, happens, man. Either way, it's cool, okay?" "I guess, I just don't wanna not be friends." "You are a friend, Chad. Anything else is up to you." "Okay," Chad replied, then turned the music back up, and continued to look out the window. It was starting to get dark as they headed back toward town. Chad had only said a few words during the last hour or so. David was kind of worried that maybe he had gone a little too far, then Chad slid over next to him, leaning against his side. David briefly pressed his cheek against the teen's hair and kept driving. A few seconds later, Chad grabbed his hand and draped David's arm across his shoulders. "I like this," Chad stated. "Me too, man. You know, I mean it when I end my letters like I do." "Huh?" "You know," David replied. "No, whatcha mean?" "You know the 'love' thing." "Oh, me too." "Good. So you feel like apple pie?" "Yeah, let's go back and play a game or something." "Yes, sir," David laughed. Chad gently punched David's thigh, and gave it a brief rub. Then, as they approached the lights of town, he slid back over to his side of the seat. David pulled into his parking space, and they went up to the apartment. David opened the door, turned on the light and gasped. "Oh noooooo," he moaned. "What?" Chad said, looking into the kitchen. "I forgot to put the groceries away. And I had ice cream to go on top of the pie." Chad almost collapsed in laughter. "I don't believe it." "Oh, be quiet, goof," David said, walking into the kitchen where the melted ice cream had pooled on the floor. "Even I know ice cream goes in the freezer," Chad laughed, sitting in one of the kitchen chairs. "I do too, but I guess I forgot I bought it." "You're like an absentminded professor, Dave," Chad was still laughing. "Yeah, yeah, sheesh, help me clean it up?" "YOU made the mess, YOU clean in up," Chad replied, then got off the chair. "Yeah, I'll help. But I was really looking forward to pie and ice cream." He burst into laughter again. "You know, you can be a pain," David answered. "I'm good at it too," Chad said, still chuckling as he pulled a wad of paper towels off the roll and began to wipe up the melted ice cream. David shook his head and searched in the cupboards for one of the pots his mother had given him. He filled it with hot water, and soaked the dishcloth in it, wiping up behind Chad's efforts. Chad was still laughing when they were finished cleaning up. "You don't get any pie," David joked. "Or ice cream," Chad observed before breaking out into laughter again. David looped his arm around Chad's neck, squeezing gently. "You know, if you weren't my friend, you'd be in deep trouble." "Sure, you're just a mean old absentminded professor," Chad answered, still laughing. "Yep, and don't forget it, kiddo," David grinned. Chad's laughter was infectious, and he was soon chuckling at his mistake. He turned serious, looked at Chad, saying, "Thanks." Chad just grinned and shrugged. "Let's have pie, and....ooops." "Well, pie anyway," David agreed, setting the plates on the table and grabbing two forks out of the drawer. The two ate the pie, sans ice cream, in a few bites, threw the paper plates away and walked into the living room. David turned on the stereo, and turned to find Chad sprawled across the sofa. He shrugged and sat in the chair. After a few minutes, he saw Chad's body shake as he rolled away from David's stare. When a muffled giggle escaped, he got off the chair and pounced on the laughing teenager, digging his fingers into his ribs. "Quit laughing, kiddo. Or you'll pay." "Okay, okay," Chad gasped, rolling to his back under David, who was squatting over him. Seeing Chad stop laughing, he slid his hands from his ribs and gently smacked Chad's cheeks. "That'll learn ya, durn ya." "Maybe," Chad answered grinning. David smiled down at his friend, then slid off him and onto the end of the sofa. Chad sat up and slid next to him, resting his arm on David's thigh. David smiled and slipped his arm behind Chad's waist as the younger boy rested his head on David's shoulder. Sitting in this position, they chatted about different subjects for almost an hour. School, home, Kelly, anything was fair game. At one point, Chad turned to David and just stared. Finally realizing Chad wasn't involved in the conversation, David turned to see a serious expression. "What?" he asked. "Nothin' really, just...." David raised his eyebrows. The Chad did something sort of unexpected. He leaned forward and kissed David on the lips. Blushing furiously, he pulled back. "Sorry," he mumbled. "For what?" Chad shrugged and made a move as if to pull away from David's side. David tightened his grip around Chad's waist, holding him in place. "Where ya think you're going?" He felt Chad's body relax somewhat, and hugged the teen tighter. "You didn't like kiss back," Chad mumbled. "You surprised me, Chad," David explained. "That's all." Chad turned his head to look at David who was smiling. David just looked at the teen until his expression softened a little. David put his hand on Chad's shoulder. "You sure?" Chad nodded slightly, and David smiled again. Keeping his eyes open, he saw Chad's close as he returned the kiss, closed-mouthed. He pulled back a little to gauge Chad's reaction. Chad opened his eyes, and grinned. "Wow." David chuckled. "See? Told ya that....", his explanation was interrupted by Chad, who almost climbed into his lap, kissing him again. David put a hand on the back of Chad's head and ran his tongue across the teen's lips. He felt Chad try to jerk back, but his hand held him in place. He took a breath and pulled his tongue back. Then David backed off a little, smiling as Chad wiped his lips with the back of his hand. "That was sorta gross," Chad complained. David just shrugged. "Did you and Kelly do that?" David remained silent and just smiled and nodded. "Oh. What's so funny?" David shrugged, grinning. "You're being a pain, Dave." David just nodded. "So what's funny?" Chad asked again. David shrugged. Seeing Chad becoming a little peeved at his silence, David laid back on the sofa, pulling Chad with him until they were laying face to face, Chad draped across David's body. David could feel Chad's erection against his thigh and figured Chad could feel his as well. Remaining silent, David ran his palms up and down Chad's back. Then he whispered, "It's okay, man. If you don't want to kiss that way, it's cool." "I dunno, is it gross?" David shrugged, "I don't think so. Probably taste like apples," he chuckled softly. He watched Chad's mind work. Did he look like that when he was thinking? If so, no wonder it was so obvious. Chad focused back on David and grinned. "Okay." David pulled Chad's head down again, pressing his closed lips against Chad's. They held the kiss for a few seconds, then David once again ran his tongue over Chad's lips. He felt Chad slowly relax his lips, and his tongue was rubbing over the teen's teeth. Breathing through his nose, he continued kissing. Then like a dam breaking, Chad opened his mouth to David's tongue and tentatively touched his tongue to David's. David slowly explored Chad's tongue, then let Chad do the same to his. After a few minutes of exploration, Chad pulled his face away and looked down at David. "It's sorta gross, but sorta neat too." David smiled and nodded, and once again pulled Chad's face to his. This time Chad immediately opened his mouth, allowing David's tongue to slip inside and rub over what it could reach. Chad responded in kind and both started breathing heavily. David felt Chad slowly begin to hump his leg and slid one hand down to his butt. He squeezed the cheek gently and started massaging the cloth covered ass. Chad snorted a little, kissing harder. He pushed into David's thigh, then tensed, jerking his face away from David's with a slight expression of horror. He moaned, "No." Then David felt his erection pulse as Chad came in his shorts. David felt the dampness leak through the fabric, and wrapped his arm around the orgasming teen, holding him in place. Chad began to struggle against David's grip, mumbling, "Let me up. Please, let me up." "Why?" David asked softly. "I'm so sorry," Chad replied, turning his face away. "Just let me up." "No. Chad, it's cool, okay? Don't worry about it. I was that way too sometimes. Just relax, Chad. It's okay, I don't mind. Really." David talked softly, trying to reassure the embarrassed boy. Chad struggled a few more seconds, then lowered his head beside David's whispering, "I'm so sorry, Dave." David smiled, "Did it feel good?" "Yeah, I guess." "Then it's cool, Chad. It was fun." "You sure?" Chad asked raising his head. "Yep," David replied grinning. "Very sure." Chad blushed slightly. "It feels weird," he observed, wiggling his damp shorts on David's thigh. David just tightened his grip a little, and chuckled. "Hey, betcha got a real mess down there." "Yeah,' Chad replied with a grimace. "And it's like getting cold too." "Well, I hope you brought a change of clothes," David teased gently. "Duh. I need to take a shower." David chuckled, "Want some company?" Chad's brow furrowed. "Umm maybe not this time, okay?" "Sure man, no sweat. Like I said, whatever you're okay with is fine." Chad slowly rose up off David, looking down at the wet spot in his shorts. He shyly smiled at David. "Wow." "Looks like it felt real good," David grinned. "Umm okay, I'm gonna take a shower," Chad said, rolling to sit on the edge of the sofa. Once again, he surprised David by grasping his shorts covered erection and stroking it twice then leaving go. He shot David a shy smile, then was off toward the bathroom. David laid there a few seconds, hearing the shower start. He chuckled softly when he felt the cold wetness on his thigh and got off the sofa to find something to dry it off. While he was up, he turned off the kitchen light, and turned off one of the living room lights, sitting back down on the end of the sofa. He thought briefly about what just happened, then Chad was back in the living room with only a towel wrapped around him. "I forgot my shorts," he explained. "Now who's the absentminded one?" David teased. He looked over Chad's half-naked body, noticing the flush as Chad realized what he was doing. Chad was a good looking kid. His blond hair was almost brown when wet, blue eyes looked questioningly out from under the wet bangs, his nipples were small, maybe the size of dimes, David thought. A fine trail of almost invisible down led down to his innie navel, then under the hem of the towel. David's eyes traveled back up to the red face. He grinned at the blushing teen and said, "I like. What can I say?" Chad blushed even darker in the dim light when David said softly, "C'mere." Chad slowly walked toward David, who was sitting on the edge of the sofa. He rose as Chad stood in front of him, and hugged the damp teenager, whispering, "You okay?" "Yeah," Chad whispered. "Just feels a little weird." "Yeah, I know. But it's okay, ya know?" He felt Chad nod, then released the hug. "You've got nothing to be embarrassed about, Chad." The teen blushed again, and sat on the sofa, pulling his shorts on under the towel. Shirtless he took the towel back to the bathroom, and returned to his seat beside David. David smiled, and ran his palm down Chad's chest, brushing across his nipples, which were erect. Chad sucked in a breath and leaned a little more heavily against David, turning so his back was against the rear cushions of the sofa. David's arm, draped across Chad's bare shoulders, tightened in a brief hug. He rested his palm over one of David's hard nipples, and gently tickled his chest with his fingertips, making Chad giggle and grab his hand. "Stop it." "Why?" "Because it tickles." "Whatever you say," David teased. Chad was silent, still leaning into David, his head on David's shoulder. "You like me?" he asked. "More every day, Chad. You should know that by now." "Ummm, does this like make us queer?" Chad asked. David shrugged, "Dunno. As far as I'm concerned, you're still Chad and I'm still David." Chad chuckled softly, "Yeah, I guess so." Then he paused, and took a breath. What came out next both surprised David, and made him laugh. "Ummm, will you go with me?" Chad asked, and David could feel the shoulders heat up in a blush. David chuckled a little. "Well, aren't we sorta already?" "I guess." "But, yes. For what's it's worth." "Cool," Chad answered. "Guess we're queer, huh?" "No, I'm...," "Still David, and I'm still Chad. Okay, I get it." David laughed and hugged Chad a little tighter. "I think I'm gonna take a shower too. Enjoy the music." He released Chad's shoulders and stood up, stripping off his shirt and throwing it into the bedroom on his way by. He gave Chad a grinning wave, then closed the bathroom door and turned on the shower. ****************************************************************************** Okay, so David has the willpower of chocoholic in a candy store.
