Charles suffered a severe head injury when Fox Hound was torpedoed and sunk on the way up to New Guinea; he is ensconced in the military base hospital in Port Moresby suffering from a gashed head, concussion with possible complications. Peter Bentley his young commando lieutenant was eager to see him and found him propped up in bed suffering from a massive headache. Bryce and Lieutenant Douglas, the gunnery officer called in to see their captain then left when they had filled Charles in on the survivors. They left the ward and stopped outside the building as Bryce turned to Malcolm and said, "The captain looks terrible doesn't he?" The lieutenant nodded and said, "Yes his eyes look weird sort of not quite the same size or something, I don't like the look of him at all. I hope the quacks are on his case properly." Charles vision was altering constantly one minute it would be as clear as a bell the next it was as if a fog had descended, everything turned muzzy, Peter sitting beside the bed seemed to fade from sight spasmodically. Charles also was feeling bouts of biliousness, he felt as if he would vomit then it would subside again, he felt decidedly unwell. The doctor made his rounds and he examined Charles pupils with a small torch and found them to be reacting differently and the pupils were of unequal size, this was a new development and he immediately ordered an X-ray of Charles skull. Peter was bundled out to leave Charles to rest and protesting he left the ward returning to his own bed. Charles lay there in the bed under the slowly spinning ceiling fan that stirred the humid air somewhat and cooled his feverish body as it sweated, his stomach spasmed and before he could ring for the nurse he spewed all over the edge of his bed and onto the polished linoleum on the floor below. The nurse came after he pushed the bell button and saw the mess called for an orderly to bring a mop and bucket, she slid the soiled sheet from under Charles and tossed it aside then removed his messy pyjama top dropping it to where the sheet lay. She told Charles she would be right back and hurried out to get fresh linen and a clean top for her distressed patient. She returned with a second nurse and between them they managed to slip a new sheet under Charles getting him to roll onto one side as they put on the sheet then rolling back onto the fresh sheet as they pulled the other half tight and tucked it in. They bathed Charles and redressed him in clean pyjamas. Charles thanked them although the movement had caused his pounding headache to increase in ferocity; the nurses settled him down and administered some painkillers the doctor had prescribed. Charles laid back eyes closed and teeth gritted until the pills worked their magic, he relaxed as the throbbing subsided to a dull ache and he fell into a fitful drugged slumber. The movement of his bed being wheeled from the ward down the corridor to where the massive x-ray machine was housed awaked Charles, he was transferred gently onto the fixed table then the orderlies left the room and the operator moved behind a lead divider and started the machine, a dull humming permeated the room as the machine took pictures of Charles skull. The operator stopped the machine and moved Charles head turning it to the opposite side and again went to his post and switched on the equipment. Once he had finished the doctor's orders Charles was again eased back onto the bed and wheeled back to the ward. The operator developed the pictures and set them aside in an envelope with Charles name on it to be given to the doctor on his next rounds. Charles lay on the bed awaiting his evening meal and when it was brought even though he was hungry he only picked at the food leaving half of it on the plates, but he drank down the terrible tepid hospital cup of tea with relish as he was parched. The orderly came and collected the tray as the nurse entered to administer his evening pain killers, she handed him the tablets and poured out a glass of water handing it to Charles who slipped the two pills into his mouth and washed them down with the water before handing back the glass and thanking her. The lights were dimmed and he was left to sleep, during the night he was awoken by the feeling of a wet warm mouth on his cock, he opened his eyes in the dim light and saw a figure bent over the bed at his midriff. The sloppy wet mouth bobbing up and down on his incredibly hard cock caused Charles to tense his loins and thus flex his tingling tossle, the unknown fellator paused in mid bob as he realised Charles had awoken, he moved around so he could look up the bed towards the top and saw Charles eyes fastened upon him, Peter smiled around the big fat pole and he winked at Charles. Charles moaned softly so as not to arouse the other patient or alert the night nurse outside at her station, Peter lifted his head and whispered, "I hope your headache is better Charles and what I'm doing doesn't bring it on again." Charles could feel the dull throbbing behind his eyes but was able to tolerate it as Peter went down on him again his lips tight wrapped around Charles big boner as his tongue tip dabbled at his frenulum exciting the myriad of nerves there. The feelings zooming through Charles groin spread quickly outwards racing through his nervous system to explode in his brain in an eruption of sexual fever, this caused his head to spin and his headache to intensify. He was moaning due to both stimulation and pain as his nuts tightened and Peter suckled hard to draw out his rich creamy seed, Charles hips arched up causing his aching head to press onto the pillow harder aggravating his pain. The release of his pent up semen was worth the increase in his headache as his over full gonads pumped out into Peter's gobbling gob. Peter drained him dry and lifted his handsome head from Charles' crotch to smile at his recumbent lover, as he took Charles hand in his holding it gently feeling his lover trembling in his grasp. Peter brought Charles' hand to his lips and kissed the palsied appendage then he whispered softly, "I love you so incredibly much Charles Wentworth, this is goodbye my love I'm being sent back up the track tomorrow morning." Charles heard his words and a chill went through him thinking of his young lover risking his life in the fetid jungle fighting the demonic soldiers of Japan so skilled at jungle warfare. Charles wished he could share his bed and body with the dashing young officer but knew it was impossible, as the nurse would be making her rounds shortly. Peter kissed Charles on the lips; their tongues embraced each other sliding together joyously in a warm bath of saliva. Peter pulled away kissed Charles on the tip of his nose then brushed his lips across each closed eye a brief kiss on the forehead below the turban of bandages and he whispered, "Fare thee well Charles till we meet again my love." Peter crept to the open window unlatched the wire screen opening it and slipped out into the night closing the screen behind him then crept back to his own ward slipping into his bed and snuggling up to his pillow as he dropped off to sleep. Charles lay there awake his headache beginning to pound once more, the nurse appeared and saw he was awake and asked him if he needed more pain relief, Charles croaked that he did and she administered two more pills and a glass of water to help him swallow them. Bryce had returned to the barracks where the rest of the Fox Hound's lower rank survivors were housed and he told the men of Charles condition, Bradley was perturbed to hear his friend and captain was so low and vowed to somehow get into the hospital to see him. Bryce told him that it wasn't possible he'd only got in because the gunner had taken him, Bradley asked Bryce to see if the gunner would take him along as he was sure Charles would be happy to see him and know that he was ok. Bryce nodded and said that he'd ask Mr Douglas to drive the old man to see the skipper. Next morning the doctor arrived and was given Charles' X-rays and they confirmed a nasty hairline fracture in Charles' skull, he needed complete bed rest to allow it to knit but there was nothing else to be done except help the patient with pain relief. Bryce contacted Malcolm and asked if he could take the steward to see Charles, the gunner agreed and told Bryce to let Bradley know he'd be by to pick him up at 1300 hours. Bradley was overjoyed to hear the news and bolted down the noon meal then had a quick shower and a shave in preparation to see Charles. He paced up and down outside the barracks impatiently waiting for the gunner to appear. The gunner drove up at 1255 in a jeep and saw the white haired old steward outside looking spic and span and smiling broadly at the sight of him and the jeep. Bradley climbed aboard the open jeep and with a crunch of gears it jerked away heading for the hospital, they drove through the bomb damaged town dodging craters blown in the roadway being filled up by the pioneers, the dawn air raid had been a light one so the damage was minimal. The anti aircraft batteries had shot one plane from the sky and kept the enemy at maximum height trying to avoid the bombardment. The hospital disguised under camouflage netting came into view and the jeep was stopped at the gates by the uniformed and armed military police that checked their papers and waved them through. They parked the jeep and made their way inside to the reception desk where they asked to see Charles, the nurse on duty refused them permission but Bradley stuck to his guns explaining that he was Charles' steward and that they had been together all through the war and before that when Charles had his first command. The nurse took pity on the old man and said they could go through but not to excite Charles or upset him in anyway. Bradley thanked her and said the last thing he would want to do was upset his captain in any way, she watched Bradley walk slowly down the corridor and thought how old and frail he appeared. Bradley turned into the ward where Charles lay quietly on the bed, he paused to look at his friend and saw the ungainly turban of bandages wrapped about his head and the dark circles around his eyes and he felt a huge lump in his throat at the sight. Bradley slowly approached the bed and stood beside it reached out and took Charles hand in his, Charles opened his eyes and saw his trusted old friend staring at him with tears in his eyes. Charles croaked out, "Bradders it's so good to see you my friend are you ok after the sinking? I've been so worried about you." Bradley nodded unable to speak as he tried to swallow the huge lump formed in his throat by the emotion of the moment, he squeezed Charles hand in his and finally replied, "I'm fine thank you Charles but I'm very worried about you. What do the doctors say?" Charles sighed and replied, "They say I have a crack in my hard head, something I never ever thought could happen. Don't worry dear friend I'll be as good as new soon." Bradley nodded agreeing with his captain but in his mind was worried for Charles, he sat beside the bed keeping Charles company until the nurse finally came and chased him out, as Charles dressings needed changing. Bradley rejoined the gunner and they left the hospital and Malcolm dropped Bradley off at the barracks. The naval command in Port Moresby had informed Colombo of the loss of the Fox Hound and the status of her crew, the British decided that the crew be transferred by sea back to Colombo and that Charles should be shipped there as soon as he was fit to travel. They had decided due to his injuries that he would be shipped back to England to take up a shore post once he had convalesced, Charles sea going days were over and Hitler was trapped in Berlin as the Russian forces crushed the German resistance while the allies dawdled allowing the Russians to wreak havoc. Peter Bentley survived the war and was demobbed holding the rank of captain; he received mail from Charles after he was shipped to England. Charles invited him to join him on his estate and Peter travelled by sea to join Charles and found when he arrived at Charles home that Bradley answered the door greeting him as an old friend. Charles and Peter lived together happily and are today in their 80's and 90's and still as much in love as ever. This is the last chapter of this narrative, I have loved writing about Charles and his adventures but all good things cum to an end and sadly the saga finishes. Thanks for reading the story and the comments of support I have received from you have kept me going. The End. Sadly I've come to the end of this naval saga, thanks to all the readers who have stuck with it through thick & thin. Its sad to end this tale as the characters are like family now. God bless you all & thanks to Nifty for the great site where we can post our efforts. Hugs, james x
