Thunder roared profusely as light flashed more rapidly in Hacienda Montevero. Thumping sounds began to echo as water dropped to the arid soil from heaven. The tapping rhythm intensified on the roof as the storm hovered over the hacienda. Then lighting whipped the land with its deadly tail burning trees and plants on its path. Panicking over the sudden outburst of the gods, the men of Hacienda Montevero rushed their animals to its shelters. Wheat, rice stalks and others crops swayed violently in every direction eventually lost its hold on the ground. The hellish night soon came to pass as dawn broke over the horizon and the massive destruction of the beautiful hacienda was evident. Tried and despondent, the men began picking up the pieces of what it was left of the land while others began repairing the damage that the storm bestowed to the mansion. Passing by unnoticed from the men working outside the house, a young man in tattered clothes dare entered the once spectacular house. Soaking wet and dragging his feet inch by inch as he reached the reception area. His tired and zombie like eyes roamed around the magnificent walls that surrounded him. His face was so pale and skinny and his body seemed so fragile one might think pigs eat better than he does. As he continued to look at the splendor before him, a weak smile drew on his lips and after that he fainted on the floor. Several hours later, someone holding an ammonia bottle to his nose brought him back to consciousness. Though he could barely keep his eyes open he recognized the guy who resurrected him before falling back to his slumber. All throughout the night, he remained asleep dreaming that he had finally found the tunnel that would direct him towards the light. But as he reached the end of the burrow, all hope fled his being as he saw the bars blocking the exit that thwarted him from claiming his liberty. "NO!" He screamed in anguish. His scream frightened the boy watching over him. The boy ran out of the room and looked for the master of the house. "Master, master..." He panted. "Come quick, something has happened to our guest!" From the outside of the house, the boy held his master's hand dragging him to the bedroom upstairs. "Look, master, look!" The boy pointing at the young man. The man approached the bed and saw that his guest was crying with his kneels curled up to his chin. He cautiously sat at the bed looking at his guest. Unsure of how to tackle the situation, he slowly brought his left hand over to the young man's right shoulder. As soon as his hand touched his guest's shoulder, his guest moved quickly away from him like some frighten cat. "Don't be afraid." He began. "You're safe." The young man looked at him then to the boy who standing outside the door. Fear was painted all over his pale face. "You had a bad dream. It's over. You're safe now." The host began to say. "Don't you recognized me?" The young guest studied the man's face and didn't recognize who he was. The man tried again to make physical contact but his guest jumped out of bed and tried to escape towards the door. The boy was frightened when he saw their guest headed towards him and ran away. Quickly, the man was able to grab and lock his arms around his guest's chest. The young man struggled and wailed trying to escape from the man's grip. While both were struggling, the boy returned bringing another man with him. "Stop it right now! Stop it, Damien!" As soon as he heard his name, he came back to senses. coming soon - chapter fourteen _____________________________________________________________ I really love to hear what you think of this story.
