Casey and Ryan were comfortably seated in the dining room, enjoying a sumptuous feast together. Casey was unusually silent for most of the meal. Ryan was having difficulty dealing with Casey's reticence. He was beginning to feel that unless he finally did say something, this downward turn was never going to change. Plus he was very much pained to see Casey in so much despair that he was virtually drowning in an abyss of despair. Finally, as they were approaching the time for dessert, Ryan broke the silence: "Well, cuz, I certainly hope that you at least enjoyed this kiss. After all, it went on for about three whole minutes." "That isn't funny, that isn't at all funny. Anyway, it's not just the kiss, it's how and what my dad was feeling when he kissed me then.", Casey responded sharply, almost as if he were biting Ryan's ears off. Then Casey cotinued: "He was lusting after me, Ryan, don't you get that at all? I mean, after me, his very own son. It's sick, that's what it is, just plain sick. I am not even sure I can ever go back there; and live with him and my mom again, live a lie like nothing has happened." "Well, you are being awfully quick to condemn your dad, though I do understand where you are coming from. I think we need to go through the record for this seven-year period one more time and maybe when we then review the records we have not gotten to yet, we can both grasp things better. I mean your dad keeps harping in the sessions about this 'out-of-control feeling' he was experiencing during the kiss. But what was all of the business with that really about, anyway?" Casey finally said, after three minutes of tense silence: "I don't think I can get into all of this right now. I feel emotionally drained and very much exhausted." Ryan then went on: "Well, maybe we should just table all of this. After we have dessert, maybe we can get out a bit and take in a late-evening movie." Casey was smiling now: "OK, it could be our first 'date'." "That's right, sleeping together does not count.", Ryan interjected with a sheepish grin on his lips. Ryan suggested that it would be good for Casey to go to the bathroom and wash his face and pull himself together better, while Ryan was checking on the dessert in the freezer. Casey found himself following instructions, like a little boy being pampered by his mother. He was still very much amazed how Ryan was able to put up with all of this. Then, in moments, as he was looking in the bathroom mirror, he was surprised to see that there was an element of the former brooding 'Casey' in his reflection: He detested this part of himself, this selfish, self-absorbed, depressed side to him; and when he turned away from the mirror, he was doing so in revulsion. The splash of cool water on his face, normally found to be most refreshing, was hardly even noticed by Casey, absorbed in his thoughts. Casey wondered: "I know my dad, or at least I thought I did. But I don't know this 'Ronnie' person at all. Maybe it's wrong for me to condemn my dad until I know a bit more. Maybe Ryan is right: I might be 'hanging' my dad without a fair 'trial'." "It's blueberry sorbet with strawberry sauce, I hope you like it." Casey, again seated at the dining room table, was now smiling at a very proud Ryan. "Well, it looks exquisite, simply exquisite. Almost like a work of art, too good to take apart." Ryan smiled at Casey, his smile that of a virtuoso pleased with his masterpiece performance. Each of them were savoring every single morsel of the dessert. At one point, when Casey was licking his lips, Ryan felt a strong urge to want to kiss Casey. Ryan chose to hold back, fearing that Casey would misinterpet his forwardness as taking advantage of his vulnerability. Soon the two were seated in a center section of a local cinema. It was "A Beautiful Mind" with Russell Crowe on the screen, a re-release. But the cousins, who had already seen the movie several times over, were really paying not very much in terms of attention to what was being shown. Casey had been trembling for about three to five minutes; and Ryan had been very upset to see Casey this way, so unexpectedly unnerved. Well, Ryan, unsure as to what to do; and without really thinking about what he was doing, began to embrace Casey in a very soothing way. When Ryan noticed Casey calming down and his shaking being significantly less, Casey became so moved by Ryan's caring manner that within moments the two were sharing a very passionate kiss. By the time the picture was about midway through and the electric shock scene was going on, Casey was seated on Ryan's lap and Ryan's pants had been unzipped. It was hard for the two to stay very quiet, and, in truth, hard not to be anything other than hard in view of Ryan's almost fully hard condition; and just as Casey was almost fully relaxed, the footsteps and flashlight of an usher provided warning that they were in serious danger of getting caught. Casey could not believe that at their age, the two of them had foolishly placed themselves in this predicament, though he was enjoying the moment and in particular Ryan's delicate licking and kissing of the nape of his neck. In truth, they were so turned on by one another and so much in need to just relieve some of the intense tension between them, that they did not even really consider the risk. The imminent danger was further compounded by this odd circumstance, one they definitely did not know of: that their Richard, Richard Chambers, Jr., was for reasons to be later revealed the usher approaching. Talk about "a small world"!
