Everyone followed him up the stairs. Beau was sitting on the sofa reading. Jeff shook his head and opened the door to the study, which was already lit. He just stood there and everyone shouted, "Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday." Beau added, "Don't forget the Fourth of July." Everyone walked around and all of a sudden Beau asked, "Where am I supposed to sleep?" I pulled out the sofa, and it made a queen size bed that was already made. Sammy said, "Look at this computer. It's state of the art and is already hooked up to the internet. I think I'll look for some porn sites." "Forget it stud, you wouldn't know what to do with them if you could find them." laughed Mickey. Jeff was walking around looking at everything and all of a sudden he started to go down. Beau saw him first and he rushed to him. "Doctor Dad, what's wrong with Jeff?" I knelt down and said, "Get me a wet cloth." Beau responded, and I asked everyone to leave. Everyone left except Beau, and Jeff sat up and said, "Dad, I am so overwhelmed I can't believe it. I had no idea." He stood and went over to Beau, who was shaking. Jeff said, "I'm fine, General. Now we need to go get ready for some company." We went downstairs and Jeff set the dining room up for the meeting. Mr. Cross and Eddie arrived first, followed by Mr. Sanders and the twins. Mickey and Teddy took the young guys upstairs. Reg and Chip came in and Chip thanked both Jeff and me for his money, and when he heard the guys upstairs, he took off like a flash, in that direction. Tyler and Kevin came in next, with Mark and Matt and they went downstairs. Tyler came back and said, "Jeff, we can't do our work down there, with all of the stuff in the way." Jeff was baffled. "What are you talking about?" Jeff and I followed Tyler down the stairs. When Jeff was about halfway down, he almost went down again. "Dad, how did you do all of this without me having any idea?" The downstairs had some new work out equipment I yelled, "Guys there are plastic covers on the chair there to cover everything." Jeff and I walked back up the stairs, but before we exited, Jeff hugged me and kissed me and said, "Thank you Dad, I love you so much." We went to the dining room and it looked like everyone was there, except for the Potts. The Potts arrived in a few minutes, and Jeff didn't waste any time. He started the meeting without Beau and Denny whom he asked to wait outside. Jeff asked Josh to explain what he found in his testing. "When I gave the I. Q. test to Beau, I got a score of 151 and today the preliminary score for Denny was 142." Josh said. "Thank you. Now, Mr. Sanders, would you tell us what your findings on their academic skill levels showed." Jeff asked. Hal Sanders said, "Both young men are especially weak in their math and English mechanics, and their other areas are not on grade level." "Thank you Mr. Sanders. I would like to inform all of you here, that both these great young men have been sexually abused by other men. Now, having said that, I'm going to call them in." Jeff said, as he went to get the guys. Denny came in and said, "Beau will be here shortly." Beau came in and joined us. Jeff said, "I have come up with some ideas, I would like to run by you all. First, so that everyone knows the playing field, let me introduce the people here, so my plan will make sense. First, Dr. Jeanne Potts is a former teacher, principal and administrator for the home school program. Grams has her Doctorate in the Social sciences and I would like her to be an advisor. I would like for her to find out what is needed to make it possible to have the two guys home schooled. That would mean that we would pull Denny out of the public school, to keep him from becoming too frustrated because of the double work load, and I think that would be counter productive." Jeanne interrupted, and said, "I have a good idea how we can make it happen fast. We can take care of it tomorrow, if Mrs. Tillison is willing to go to Lincoln and take care of the necessary paperwork." "I can go. Maria, how about you?" asked Mrs. T. "I can go and I'll drive." Maria answered. "Good, why don't we leave at 10:00 and have a leisurely lunch and then invade the necessary offices." Mrs. T. said. Jeff began again, "Now that that problem is taken care of, Mrs. Tice here, is a super math teacher, according to Drew, so she could help the guys in that area. Mr. Cross is Chris, Denny and Mickey's English teacher, and he could take care of that discipline. Mr. Sanders is certified to teach the sciences in grades 6 through 12, so he can cover that area." He stopped and turned to Josh and said, "Uncle Josh here is a psychologist and Uncle Ben is a psychiatrist, so it would be great if one of them could be on the team." "I'll be happy to take that job." said Ben. "Now, I know this has been coming pretty darn fast." Before Jeff could finish, there was a knock on the door. "Come in." Jeff called. "Uncle Jeff, may we have a snack please?" asked Chip. "Yes, is Mickey with you?" Jeff asked. "I'm right here." Mickey answered, as he came in with Chris. "Would you please see these young men to the kitchen and make them a nice cup of hot chocolate. The marshmallows are in the pantry and there is a box of birthday cookies on the counter." Beau said, "I'll be right back." Jeff explained about Beau's colonoscopy in the morning. Beau came back and Jeff began again. "Now, I want to see what the players think." "Denny, what say you? Jeff asked. Denny put up a thumb. "Beau?" Beau said, "It sounds too good to be true. The lessons would have to be at Gigi's house though, since I will need to be there to take care of Chip. Mr. Cross can bring Eddie when he comes and Mr. Sanders can bring Timmy and Danny when he comes. Doctor Jean can bring Dr. Bill and Mrs. Tice can bring whomever she wants." "Mr. and Mrs. Johnson?" Mr. Johnson said, "It sounds like an answer to a prayer. We will pay whatever we have to, to get Denny back on track." "Dr. Jeanne?" "I'm all for it, if the three teachers go for it and Mr. Sanders and Mr. Cross can get three copies of all of the core books used in grades seven and eight." Jeanne said. "Mrs. Tice?" She put a thumb up and said, "Count me in." "Mr. Cross?" "Since Beau answered my one objection, I'm in." he answered. "Mr. Sanders?" Mr. Sanders answered, "I'm willing." "Uncle Josh and Uncle Ben?" "You have our full support and we will pay Beau's share of any expenses." Josh answered. "Grams?" "Let's get the ball rolling." she answered. "Are there any questions?" Jeff asked. Dr. Bill raised his hand. "Yes, Dr. Bill?" "Do you always get everything to go your way? How long have you been planning this?" Dr. Bill Potts asked. "The plan started to form, when Mr. Sanders was here last night. I finished pulling my thoughts together this afternoon when I got the last of Denny's results. Can everyone be here Monday night at 7:00 so we can finalize the details?" Jeff looked around and Ben had his hand up. "Yes Uncle Ben?" "Jeff, I'm probably going to be out of town all of next week. Grams and Josh can keep me posted on what is happening." Ben said. Jeff turned to everyone and said, "Until Monday then, and thank you all very much for coming." "Let's check on the guys." Mrs. T. said, as she was followed into the kitchen by Mr. Sanders and Mr. Cross. The rest of us except for Mrs. Tice and Jeff went into the living room where Jill was sitting with Eric and Linda. Mrs. Tice asked, "Jeff, may we talk for a minute, please? I have some exciting news that you can not reveal, please. The three of us who are tutoring Drew met today after his lesson. We decided that we were going to fire him tomorrow, after his last math test. He is a remarkable young man. He has done so much more than required. I took it upon myself to check his regular classroom teachers, and he has straight A's. So he'll do just fine." "I guess I had better be ready for some fireworks tomorrow night, then." Jeff laughed. "We're having two birthday parties for the four 10-11 boys on Saturday. You know Toby Thompson and Bobby Lincoln. The other two are Spencer Knight who was with me at the thrift shop, and my brother Teddy Smith. The fifth young birthday boy is Chip, who came in and asked if they could have a snack." Jeff explained the party and asked, "Would you and your husband like to join us?" "It sounds like it would be fun, but we are spending the weekend in Beemer to celebrate our twin grandsons' birthday. They are going to be nine and we promised to spend the day with them." Mrs. Tice answered. Jeff looked at her and asked, "Their last name wouldn't happen to be Lowery, would it, and they wouldn't happen to have an Uncle Kyle would they?" She looked at him and asked, "Are you clairvoyant, or what?" "No, but I know Kyle and Joe, and know what they're getting the twins for their birthday. They are getting them scooters. They are planning to come to Fremont for the second party, since they know the four older guys." Jeff said. "Do you have any idea what we should get the twins?" asked Mrs. Tice. "Well, you could get them skate boards or roller blades. I'll tell you what. I'll get you Kyle's number, and you can call him and see what he thinks, but the guys are definitely going to need helmets and safety pads for the elbows and knees. Beau! Help!" Jeff called. "You rang, sir." Beau said. "No, but I need Kyle's telephone number, please." Jeff said. Beau came back and gave the number to Jeff and asked. "Is there anything else, boss?" "Nope, now go back to your guard duty." Jeff laughed. Mrs. Tice said, "I'm totally amazed at these young men. I think that I am in for one of the most exciting challenges of my life." Mrs. Tice followed Jeff into the kitchen where Beau was saying, "Okay men, bring your plates and mugs and then find your shoes. I think your Daddies and Mommy want to go." The four guys started to leave, and Beau said, "Wait, Wait. I didn't hear anyone thanking Mickey and Teddy for taking care of you and getting your snacks." Chip knew what he was supposed to do, and hugged the three guys and the others followed his lead. Mrs. Tice was standing there watching, when Drew and Kenny came walking in without knocking. Drew looked at Mrs. Tice and said, "Hi, Mrs. Tice. What are you doing here? Were you telling Jeff that you are going to fail me?" "No, but that's a good idea. I'm here on another problem." she laughed. Kenny spoke up, "Beau, my friend, were you able to get what we need?" "So now I'm your friend, when you were holding me upside down shaking me on Sunday, you doubted my ability; I'm crushed." he said, as he reached in his pocket and pulled out a piece of paper. David came in and asked, "Beau, were you able to help us?" Beau reached in his other pocket, and pulled out a sheet of paper and said, "Here you go Mr. Burns. Oh, by the way guys, the price just went up to double, since I haven't been able to eat since 3:00." The three guys hugged Beau and left. Mrs. Tice was shaking her head, "I don't believe this household." Mrs. T. was standing there and said, "Irene, you had better get used to it." Everyone finally left but the guys downstairs. At 9:00 they came up and said, "We'll be back tomorrow night, and then on Friday, Kenny and Drew can finish the painting. We're all taking Friday night off." said Tyler. Billy said, "Reg and I will do the piano room lighting tomorrow, but we decided you don't need anything done to the bedroom, because once everyone leaves, you will have the entire house to yourselves and you can do whatever it is you do." "See you guys tomorrow." Mark said, as everyone left. Beau, Jeff and I went upstairs to look at the study or Beau's temporary bedroom. Jeff just walked around touching everything. "I can't believe you pulled this off." Beau left and came back and we went downstairs to look at the family room and the exercise room. "This is going to be so phenomenal, and think of the parties we can have." We locked up and everyone got ready for bed and there was no extra activity. Editor's Notes: I must admit that there is very little to add to these last few chapters. Even though they are bringing us information, they really speak for themselves. I feel so useless and I'm like that fifth wheel that everyone talks about. The funny thing is that a fifth wheel would come in very handy if, for example, you wanted to parallel park, if you had a fifth wheel, you could just move the car right into the parking space, and it would be a lot easier. See, I can talk about just about anything, if I have enough time to think about it. "What in the world does that have to do with the story?" You may ask. Well there is a simple explanation; The Frammis rod is bafulated to the canibulator. It is then transmogrified into tufitive agnomary. You can only bolifilate a grasponomiter on the wespictater if you bantilate the trebulator for six and a half minutes on each side, first. So there. Darryl AKA The Radio Rancher
