Chapter 25 - Coaching the Coaches

When I woke up in the morning, everyone was gone. Jeff was coming into the room with my coffee. He leaned down and kissed me and said, "Dad, time to get up. The rest of us have already had our run. Let's take a shower."

We went downstairs and the guys were already eating. Beau fixed our breakfasts. Ben and Josh came in and said, "Stay clear of Mother. You guys have her so upset that she is like a hurricane."

"Is she that angry with me?" Beau asked.

"No Beau, she's angry with herself for not realizing what was happening and she is really upset with Barry, for not asking for help. She is not upset with any of you guys. She thinks all five of you walk on water." Josh assured us.

"Come on Jason and Davey, I'll take you to school." Ben directed.

Josh said, "Beau, I`ll take you to Gigi's house."

The rest of us cleaned up and went our separate ways. Nothing exciting happened until I was eating a sandwich and reading. Lash brought Mrs. Tillison into my office. "Jack, we need to expand your facility here, so that you can take Barry into your practice, and Lash can be his business manager, because he sure can't manage them himself."

"Mrs. T., I've already been advertising for some associates, at Jeff's insistence. This facility can't handle too much more activity." I answered.

"Jack, I own the property next door. I'll get this facility expanded in no time." Mrs. T. said. We can make it large enough so that Josh and Ben could use the facility to keep their hands in their professions on a limited basis."

Mrs. T. got up to leave, but turned around and said, "Since you know Alex West, why don't you call him and get him to come to a meeting at your house tonight, and we can get him started on a design for the facility. Now I have nearly a hundred things to do, to straighten this mess out.

I called Alex's office and left a message for him to call me.

Jeff had gone to his combined counseling, psychology class, and told them the story of Brad and Hal and how the parents had reacted so differently. He gave them the particulars of the dinner then, and how Danny impacted the situation. Jeff said, "This has been a hectic weekend." He then told what happened to Barry and his family.

"There was one person that you all have met who tackled all of these problems, and it was not me, even though I got very much involved too." Jeff said.

Mitchell asked, "Does that person have the initials of B. B. B.?"

"Good guess, Mitch. Yes Beau got the first problem solved, but more importantly on Sunday night; he reminded everyone that the first priority had to be the people, especially the children, and not material things." Jeff said.

Dr. Cornell interjected and said, "Ladies and gentlemen, Beau really appreciates the importance of people. I am just amazed that any 13 year old would think like that."

After class, Jeff asked Mitch if he wanted to go to lunch. Mitch would only agree if he were permitted to pay. Jeff's afternoon went fine. He and Adam went to the church and as they were finishing, Jeff announced, "Adam, I'm firing myself. You don't need me to teach you anything. You just need to be more confident in your abilities and skills. Just tell yourself that you can do this with no problem."

Adam said, "I just knew you would be doing this, but I didn't expect it this quickly."

"I'll provide any help I can, but I have all the confidence that you will do an outstanding job. Just don't let any unforeseen things shake you. Now do you need a ride?" Jeff asked.

Aaron, who had been sitting there, piped up. "Stop trying to seduce my friend, you stud boy. I saw him first."

Father Gilbert, who had been standing off to the side started to laugh, "My, my, boys, is that any way to talk in a church?"

Aaron went white and said, "I'm sorry, Father Gilbert."

"No harm, no foul, Aaron." Father said and added. "Jeff, it has been requested that you prepare some special music for the Easter Sunrise Service, and I think you should plan to do it at all three services."

"You mean Bishop Lancaster is going to be here, I guess. This is different. At least I have two weeks to prepare something. Jeff said. "I'll do my best Father Gilbert."

Jeff drove to the high school to check on practice. Coach Winston met him and said, "I've already been told to get my act together and train these young people properly for baseball, and not for a marathon. Beau said I should visit with you, as to how to best provide them the proper training."

Jeff looked up and said, "Mr. Murphy, please call the players over here."

The players gathered around and Jeff said, "Men, for those of you who don't know me, I'm Jeff Wilson. You have homework before you come to practice tomorrow. I want you to think about the muscles that are important, and what skills are needed, to play baseball. Mr. Hendrix, please bring your video camera, Mr. Washington, please bring Grams camera. Mr. Smith, has your family unpacked your camera yet?"

"Yes." Sammy answered.

"Good, then please bring it." Jeff said. "Now, I would like everyone to tell me their names, especially those of you I don't already know. You start Kenny."

Everyone introduced themselves and Jeff got up to leave and said, "Coach Winston and Coach Murphy, I'll be here tomorrow at 3:15. You'd better have these guys ready to work their bottoms off."

Jeff left and the guys who didn't know him didn't know what to think. Kenny said, "Guys, you'd better get used to him. He's only doing what he can do to help us be as good as we can be."

Tommy spoke up, "I'm betting that Beau had something to with this, right coach?"

"Tommy, you're right. This is the first time in my life, that a 13 year old person dared to tell me that I didn't know what I was doing. I hope he can make it to practice some night."

Tommy said, "Maybe he can come on a Monday, since he has class until five on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday."

The boys and I got home first, so Jason and Beau started to fix dinner. It was ready when Jeff and Tommy finally came in. We were eating when the phone rang. Jason answered.

"Hi, Uncle Norm ... Cool, so when do we have to be ready the Tuesday after Easter. ... What time? ... 1:30 ...We'll be there, even if Beau and Tommy have to kidnap everyone. ... Thanks Uncle Norm."

Beau said, "So we have to be in court next Tuesday. That means you and Tommy will have to miss some school, and Jeff and Dad will have to cut out of work."

Beau, stop." said Tommy. "Sometimes you have to do what you gotta do."

They were doing the dishes when Mrs. Bressler arrived, "Hi Jack, is Jeff here?"

Jeff came in from the kitchen and said, "Hi Aunt Amy, what can I do for you?"

"Jeff, I've been asked to invite you to be on the search committee for a new assistant for Father Gilbert." Mrs. Bressler said.

"But I'm a brand new member. Shouldn't it be someone who has more tenure in the church? Who suggested me, and who else is going to be on the search committee?" Jeff asked.

"Hank Thompson is going to be the chair of the committee; Mrs. Tice has agreed to be a member. You were recommended by someone who isn't a member of our church, but is a very influential person in the church." Amy said.

"So you're telling me, that Bishop Lancaster has struck again?" Jeff asked.

Mrs. Bressler laughed and said, "Nothing gets by you, does it Jeff?"

Aunt Amy, "I'll do this, however, I have some severe reservations, but if Uncle Hank and Mrs. Tice are with me, I'll feel better."

Amy left and it was only a very short time before Tyler and Kevin came in. "Doctor Dad, is Mrs. Tillison here?" Tyler asked.

"No Tyler. Do you want me to call her?" I asked.

"I need to talk to her. I guess we could go by her house." Tyler said.

Before the guys could leave, Mrs. Tillison came in with Ben, Josh and Barry. Mr. and Mrs. Hendrix were right behind them with the twins, and Jeff sent the twins downstairs to the guys.

Tyler said, "Mrs. T., the lights are turned off at the house, so there is no way I can check it properly."

"Tyler, the lights should be back on in the morning. I just hope it doesn't get too cold tonight. I'm sorry; I didn't know this was going to happen." Mrs. T. said.

"Mrs. T., we walked through with flashlights and the place is an absolute mess, except for the girl's bedroom. It is going to take a lot of care to bring it back to the 21st century." Tyler said, as Kevin nodded.

Mrs. T. looked at Barry and said, "Okay ostrich, what are we going to do?"

"Mother, I don't honestly know. I'm sure that you and Mr. and Mrs. Hendrix will be telling me what I'm going to be doing." Barry answered.

Tyler and Kevin left and Jeff said, "Grams, I have been commanded to provide the music for the Easter Sunrise service, by Bishop Lancaster. May I reward the guys and gals with a swim party on Easter afternoon?"

Jeff, there you go again. Thinking about other people, of course this sounds like a little bribery." Mrs. T. laughed.

"You do what you have to do." Jeff laughed. "After all, we would be asking them to get up before daylight on a Sunday. Who knows? We will probably be singing at all three services, before it's all done."

Mrs. T. changed the subject. "Jeff, honey, I understand you are going to be on the search committee for an assistant for Father Gilbert."

"Wait a minute. How did you find out? I just found out 30 minutes ago?" Jeff asked. "I'm doing it because Uncle Hank is leading the group, and Mrs. Tice is going to be on the committee."

Mr. Hendrix said, "Maria Johnson and I agreed to do it too when we found out that you were going to be on the committee."

"There are two other members who could give you some grief. Sarah Hughes and Bernie Hutchins are going to be extremely conservative and looking for a very traditional person." Mrs. Tillison said.

Jeff said, "Now let's talk about the important things. How are the girls doing with this mess?"

Mrs. Hendrix said, "They almost seem like different girls and we have had them only two days. They are looking forward to going shopping on Saturday with Georgia, Candy and Anita."

Jeff said, "Make sure they visit a Limited Too store. I know some of the young ladies I sat for in Minneapolis thought it was the only place to shop. Now if you will excuse me, I'll go find some dessert for the guys and gals. Oh, by the way Grams, the Peoria people are coming for Easter. They are scheduled to arrive on Good Friday."

Jeff left and I took drink orders. There was a lot of laughter coming from the kitchen. Mrs. Hendrix went to see what was happening. She came back and reported, "Beau is entertaining everyone. I really think we need to get the girls home. It's past their bedtime."

Everyone left and our guys cleaned up and went to their rooms. Jeff and I took a shower. Jeff snuggled close, and turned out the light. Before I realized what was happening, he had consumed my penis in his mouth. I manipulated our bodies and did likewise. It was not long until we were consuming each others fluids. When our penises were flaccid, we cuddled and kissed and Jeff said, "Dad, I love you so very much."

"Jeff, I double that. Thank you for making me happy, but you do need to slow down, or you'll die before me and then where will I be?"

Gone for the night.

Wow, still another great chapter. I am a little worried about Sarah Hughes and Bernie Hutchins. They might just throw a monkey wrench into the works, so to speak.
