"But you like it?" Adam asked. We were in our room getting ready for bed. He'd just come back from the shower.

I knew that he probably thought he was in trouble now but I hoped that he wasn't. I looked up as Levi and Joe came into the room. They both sat on the other bed.

"Adam I want you to tell me exactly what Sean said to you when he was hurting you," Joe said. I could tell he was angry. I just hoped he wasn't mad at Adam.

"He said that no one would care and I could cry all I wanted but I had better get used to it," he said softly. "He said this was my life now and all I was good for. He said that I'd better get to like it because it was going to happen to me all the time."

"How many times did he fuck you?" Joe demanded.

"Every night from the time they moved in with us," Adam said. "Steve only had me suck his dick. He even sucked mine. Sean just fucked me every night when we were supposed to be sleeping."

"Why didn't you tell Steven what was happening?" Joe asked.

"How does he feel about me?" Adam asked, looking up at Joe with tear filled eyes.

"I'll let him tell you that," Joe said. "I'm going downstairs to call Steven. I'll have him and Sean come over here. I'm also calling Dennis. This is something that he should be aware of as well."

Joe got up and left the room. Adam put his head back on my shoulder and cried harder. I knew he was scared. I didn't know what was going to happen. Would Dennis not want to be his benefactor anymore? Would Joe send him to the farm? I hoped that neither of those things happened. I didn't know Dennis but if he was anywhere as nice as Nikos then I hoped that he still wanted to be Adam's benefactor. I hoped that Joe would take Adam's side in this. I didn't want him to send him to the farm.

Joe called Adam down to the living room. Soon after he called me and Levi down as well. We looked at each other and Levi shrugged. I followed him down the stairs and into the living room. We chose seats next to Adam on the sofa. Joe was seated in his recliner. He looked at us for a long moment before he said a word. I wondered where Steve, Sean and Dennis were. I didn't have long to wait for my answer though. Steve and Sean came into the room and sat on the smaller sofa. Dennis came in a moment later and took the other recliner.

"Adam wanted Joshua and Levi to be with him for this meeting," Joe explained. "First I'd like to say that I'm very upset with you, Steven as well as Sean. What has happened to Adam is unacceptable."

"I don't understand," Steve said. "What happened to Adam?"

"Sean, why don't you tell us what happened to Adam every night that he lived in the house with you and your father?" Joe said in a hard voice.

"Nothing happened to him," Sean said. I could see that he gulped and fidgeted when he said it though.

"Adam why don't you tell your father what your brother did every night that you lived together and why you didn't say anything," Joe suggested. It was a command though. We all knew it.

Adam went through his story once again. He cried as he talked and Steve looked more and more angry with every word. Sean sort of slumped on the sofa but Steve put a hand on the back of his neck and held him up. Dennis looked horrified and I was worried that he'd decide not to be Adam's benefactor after this. I hoped he wouldn't decide that but it didn't look good to me. I just sat there and silently prayed that Dennis still wanted Adam. When Adam stopped talking it was really quiet in the living room.

"Sean, do you have anything to say for yourself?" Steve finally said. His tone was angry and his face was tight with anger.

"What does it matter?" Sean demanded. "You've been fucking me for a year. I decided it was time I got some of my own back. He just couldn't take it."

"You little shit," Steve said through his teeth as he shoved Sean into the floor.

"Dennis, how was Adam with you?" Joe asked.

"He seemed a little quiet and a bit scared," he said. "I thought that he'd not been prepared. I had no idea that he was scared of what I was going to do to him."

"Did you fuck him?" Joe asked.

"No, I didn't," he said. "I thought we'd hold off on that until he was more comfortable with me. I wouldn't have fucked him until he was ready for it, believe me."

"I do," said Joe. "Steven I assume you had no idea that this was happening between your sons."

"No I did not," he snapped. "I prepared Adam the same way I've prepared all of the other boys. That includes Sean. I never fucked any of them. Adam threw his arms around Steve's neck and held him tight. I looked away because the scene made me slightly uncomfortable. I noticed that Levi looked away as well. I did look at Dennis and saw that he had tears in his eyes. I began to hope that he would want to continue to be Adam's benefactor. From the soft look on Joe's face I also got the feeling that Adam was not destined for the mystery brother's farm and a life of hard labor.

"Dennis," Steve said. "I'm sorry that this has happened to Adam. I swear I had no idea. I wish he'd told me so that I could have alerted Joe and he could have told you about this before you signed on to be his benefactor. I will understand if you back out but I hope you won't. Adam is a wonderful boy and he deserves so much better than what's happened to him. I tried to save him and ended up putting him in the sights of a predator. I'm so sorry to both of you."

"I'm not backing out," Dennis said. "Adam, I hope that you can believe me when I say I will never hurt you on purpose. I know that we're going to have some difficulties but I wanted a boy to nurture, to love and to support. I will not choose another boy. You are the boy I have chosen and I will remain your benefactor until you go to college."

"Joshua, you and Levi have been very good to Adam," Joe said. "I hope, with Dennis's permission that the two of you will try to help him get past this and to get over his fear of sex."

"Of course we will," Levi said with a big smile. He looked at me and nodded his head. "We'll have fun helping him, won't we, Josh?"

"Sure," I said though I had no idea how to make him get over it.

"You're good boys," Joe said with a smile on his own face. "Dennis, how do you feel about this?"

"Very well," Joe said. "I'll call Liam as soon as everyone is settled. Sean, your life is about to be very hard. You can thank yourself for the harsh life you will lead now."

"You're going to send me to the farm?" Sean screeched.

"You've been a bully at school," Steve said. "I tried to overlook that, but I guess I should have stepped in sooner. Then you wouldn't have become a rapist."

"Dennis, we'll allow you some private time with Adam," Joe said. "Boys you can can go back upstairs."

"Tell me about the farm," I said when we got back upstairs.

"What's to tell?" he asked. "I've never seen it. I've just heard what Joe has said about it. His brother, Liam owns the farm and they take the boys that don't get along with the arrangement to the farm to live and work. "It sounds like hell on earth," I said seriously.

"Yes," said Levi. "But you aren't going to the farm. You've got a good looking benefactor who's crazy about you already I'm sure."

"Does Danny ever spend any time with you?" I asked.

"He buys me Christmas and birthday presents," he said. "He comes to Christmas dinner and things like that. I've seen him around."

"He and Nikos are sharing me," I said. "Charles stopped being my benefactor because he didn't want to share me with Danny."

"Yeah, we heard about that," Levi said. "It's great that Danny cares so much about you. He was really young when he adopted me, Josh. He didn't know what being a father was all about then. No one could be around you that long and not love you."

That night Adam slept in my bed with me. He was still shaken up about confronting Sean. He was happy to know that Steve loved him and that Dennis still wanted him but he was still upset. "Sure," I said with a grin. "I'll just pack a bag."

"Great," he said. "I'll be downstairs."

"So you're leaving," Adam said sadly.

"Look, in an hour Eric, Kieran and Levi will be home from school," I said. "Stick to Levi. He's a great guy, Adam."

"Yeah," he sighed. "But you'll be gone tonight and then all weekend."

"You'll be with Dennis this weekend," I said. "Don't worry about it so much though. Dennis was very upset over how Sean treated you. I don't think you have anything to worry about with Dennis."

"If you say so," he said completely unconvinced.

I got up and got a shirt, pants, underwear and socks to put in my overnight bag. Then I smiled at Adam and left the room. When I got downstairs Danny and Joe were looking at pictures of a boy I didn't know. I sat down beside Danny and waited. The boy in the photos was probably the same age as me and Adam or maybe a bit younger. He had very dark hair and eyes, his skin was like Nikos's so I thought he might be Greek, too. I didn't know though. He was a cute boy and I wondered why they were looking at him. I'd been told that there were always only four boys living with Joe. There were five now but Levi would be leaving soon. This would make six. Then I saw that they were looking at naked pictures of him. I wondered where they'd gotten those.

"The police have arrested his mother?" Joe asked.

"Yes," Danny said. "I waited until the adoption was final and then turned her in."

"And he's in good health?" Joe asked. "No overt signs of scarring?"

"So you'll be bringing him here tomorrow?" Joe asked.

"Quite right," he said. "So Seth will be with you and Josh tonight?"

"Alex will be there," Danny said. "He'll keep Seth occupied while Josh and I spend time together."

"All right," Joe said with a sigh. "I have to spend the evening with Adam tonight or I'd have you bring Seth tonight."

"I understand," he said. "I'll have him over here when I bring Josh home tomorrow afternoon."

"Nikos will be here just before dinner to get Josh for the weekend," Joe said. "He's also said that you would be joining them at some point."

"I'll be there Sunday," Danny said. "I'm in the middle of a divorce and I can't marry another woman for a while so I thought I'd spend some time with Nikos and Josh if that's all right."

"That's fine," said Joe. "Actually you don't have to hunt for another wife for a while. You can spend as much time with Nikos and Josh as you want."

"That sounds good," Danny said, smiling at me. "Ready to go?"

"Yeah," I said, though I had many questions about what I'd seen and heard.

I followed him out to his truck and got in the passenger side. He got in and started the truck. He smiled at me and then backed out of the driveway and drove down the street. I wondered where we were going. I had no idea where he lived at the moment. He'd said something about an apartment to Nikos but now I had learned that he was already remarried and there was another boy that was now legally my brother. This whole thing was starting to make my head spin. I didn't understand how all of this could happen so quickly. My mother had been dead for less than a month and he was married again?

"You look confused," he said as he drove.

"How did you have time to get married again so soon after my mother's death?" I asked. "You've adopted another boy, too. This all just seems a little fast for me."

"Well I used my legal name to marry Anne," he said.

"Your legal name?" I asked.

"Yes," he said. "My legal name is Daniel Adam Pierce. I changed it legally about two years ago. Joe has friends all over the place and I got to marry your mother and adopt you under my given name. It's all legal in one way. It's illegal in another way. As long as all of the paperwork is filed correctly it's all legal. From a legal standpoint Daniel Adam Pierce and Daniel Elliot McAllister are two completely different people. I know it's confusing for you but just understand that it's all fine."

"And Seth?" I asked.

"He will be moving in with you guys over the weekend," he said. "Joe is going to be his benefactor, but he's my son. His name is Seth Pierce right now. I may change it to McAllister later."

"So he's mine and Levi's new brother?" I asked.

"Technically," Danny replied. "Legally he's not yet."

"I don't understand," I said.

"Well just think of it this way," he said. "Seth is your brother. I'm his father."

"All right," I said, deciding that none of this really mattered to me one way or the other.

He took me to an apartment building that wasn't far from Elmhurst Academy. It was a ten story dark brick building with a flat concrete roof. He parked in the lot behind the building and we got out of the truck. I followed him into the building and up two flights of stairs to the third floor. He opened the door to apartment twelve and we went inside. I was amazed by what I saw. I didn't know what I was expecting but what I saw was a living room and dining room combination. There was a round wooden table with four padded chairs at one end. A long sofa and a recliner were at the other end. A large television sat on a black stand across from the sofa. There were framed photographs of me, Levi and Seth on the wall above the sofa and above the television.

"This is the apartment I live in when I'm not living with a woman," he said as I looked around the room. "This is mine."

"All right," I said for lack of anything else to say. All of this was really confusing to me.

"Come on," he said with a smile. "I'll show you my bedroom."

There were three bedrooms down a long hallway with a bathroom at the end of the hall. He went to the first door on the left of the hallway and inside was a queen sized bed with a blue comforter and four fluffy pillows. A dresser and chair sat along the far wall. There was a closet and another door along the opposite wall. He showed me that one was a closet where he put my bag of clothes and the other was a bathroom.

We had microwaved dinners at the dining table and it brought back memories of living in the trailer. That all seemed such a long time ago but was really only two weeks ago. We didn't talk much while we ate but my mind was running like crazy over all that I'd heard and seen. I didn't know what to think about legal names and how he'd married both my mother and this Anne woman at almost the same time. He was Danny and I loved him. So I decided that none of it mattered. I was sure I'd grow to like Seth when I finally met him. I already liked Levi and loved the fact that I had a big brother. Now I supposed I had a little brother, too.

"Where's Seth?" I asked as he was taking the plates to the dishwasher.

"He's with Alex," he said simply.

"Who is Alex?" I asked.

"Oh," he said, facing me with a smile. "I keep forgetting that you don't know everyone connected to our family. Alex Drake is an old high school friend of Joe's. He's a child psychologist that lives and works in the city. He is taking care of Seth for me so that you and I can be alone for the night."

"Okay," I said, deciding to drop it for now.

"Well why don't we watch some television?" he asked as he went over to the sofa and sat down. He turned on the television and I joined him on the couch. He took me in his arms and cuddled me while we watched some program about a motorcycle gang.

I didn't really pay attention to what was on television. Instead I focused on the way his hand was caressing my ass while the other was rubbing one of my nipples through my shirt. I'm telling a tale about people and some very strange arrangements. There's much to come in the story that doesn't have much to do with sex though sex will be a part of it. I wanted to write a story that had depth. I wanted sex to be a part of the story but not the main idea behind the story. Hope that clears things up for some of you.
