March 1971 Danny After my second period class I stopped by the Post Office to get our mail on the way to meeting Billy for lunch. We both had the same junk, as usual, but Billy had what looked like a real letter, though I didn't recognize the return address. Billy was waiting just inside the front door of the Commons and we went downstairs to get our food. As we put our trays on the table I handed Billy his junk mail but held onto the letter. "So who do you know in Florence, South Carolina, Billy? Anyone I should be jealous of?" I waved the envelope as I sat down. Billy grabbed it and stared at it for a minute then frowned. "It's from my grandmother. She's never written to me before even when I was at home. She always just wrote to Mama. I wonder what's up." "Why don't you open it and see, silly boy?" "You read it, Danny. It's probably bad news and I don't think I want to hear it." "Oh sure, and if it is bad news I'm just supposed to say, 'Never mind', put the letter away and change the subject?" "No, I know you have to tell me regardless, but I just don't want to read it myself." I opened the envelope. There was just one piece of stationery with writing on both sides. I read it through then handed it to Billy. "It's not bad news. You can read it." He read the letter a couple of times then put it back in the envelope, looked thoughtful and started eating his lunch. He just shook his head when I tried to talk to him so I ate as well. After we finished lunch he finally spoke. "So apparently Mama hasn't said anything much about what happened. Gram knows I left home but not why." "And she wants to know what's going on. I think she wants to see you, Billy. What are you gonna do?" "I don't know. Mama didn't tell her I'm gay. Maybe she thought it was something too scandalous or disgusting to even mention to her mother. I know I sure don't want to tell Gram. She's religious though not as bad as Mama. But she's not exactly a woman of the world. She barely finished grade school and I don't think she's ever been out of South Carolina. Gram couldn't possibly understand about us." "Well, it's not like she's in the next county and you could stop by on the way home from school even if you wanted to. She's hundreds of miles away so you can think about it for a while but you should write back to her." "Yeah, I know, Danny. I just don't know what to say." "You don't have to tell her the details about why you left home. She knows the basics. Just focus on your relationship with her. It sounds like she loves you a lot and misses you and is worried about you." "Yeah, I used to spend summers with her when I was a kid but we went down there less and less as I got older. She can be a tough old bird but no one's got a bigger heart than Gram. I think I was always her favorite grandchild; at least she made me feel that way. Sometimes when I got into trouble in high school I'd think about her and feel guilty, knowing how she'd be disappointed in me. I never wanted to disappoint her and I still don't." "Wow, I've got to meet this lady. Someone who intimidates you, that's pretty rare." "Oh, I can just imagine that meeting. My little old Southern black grandmother and my blonde white boy lover. Remind me to bring a camera to capture that Kodak moment." "I'm sure she'd love me, Billy. Most old ladies think I'm adorable." "That's 'cause you are adorable, baby. But you're also not fucking their grandsons. That just might make a difference to Gram." "Only if she knows about it. You don't have to tell her." "We'll see, Danny. That's a long way off in any case." Billy quickly changed the subject to our upcoming midterms and kept the conversation away from his grandmother until it was time to go to our next class. But I couldn't stop thinking about it all afternoon. I wasn't sure what I'd do if it were me. I miss my family terribly and if there was some special relative who didn't know I was gay, who still loved me, I'd be desperate to get in touch with them. But I couldn't lie about Billy and that would mean not being able to have a very close relationship with that relative. So was it worth it to Billy to try to get together with his grandmother, only to keep her at arm's length? Billy hadn't brought up the letter again but on the way home I got an idea and decided to try it out on him. "You know, Billy, in a couple of weeks we're heading back to Ft. Lauderdale for Spring Break." "Of course I know, Danny. It's practically all we've been talking about for weeks." "Brad's made hotel reservations for all of us but we still haven't figured out the transportation. Brad's mom's car was great for the four of us last year but with Mark and Peter along this time it will be a bit crowded." "We talked about using two cars. Are you still thinking about driving our car?" "I was just thinking, if we did that, then we could drive along with the others until we got to South Carolina, then make a side trip to see your grandmother, if you want. Then we could go on and join the others in Ft. Lauderdale the next day. It would mean one less night in Florida but it would give you a chance to see her." "Damn, boy, you are determined to meet her, aren't you?" "Sure, I'd like to meet her, but more than that I want you to see her, if that's what you want." "I'll think about it. I'm not sure what I want right now." "Okay, but don't think too long. It's only two weeks away and we have to make plans. And you have to warn her if we're going to drop in on her." Billy didn't think about it very long. He decided he wanted to take a chance and see her, so we made a slight change in our vacation plans. Brad cancelled the first night of our reservation in Florida, Billy wrote to his grandmother and we had Aunt Connie's mechanic thoroughly check out the car to make sure it was ready for a long trip. We all met at the house Friday evening for a home cooked meal before leaving. Billy suggested that Mark and Peter ride with us the first half of the trip to give Brad and Lucy a little privacy. It also gave us a chance to get to know Peter a little better. We left a little after eight and drove all night, only stopping a couple of times to change drivers. Saturday morning we all stopped at a diner outside Florence for a late breakfast. "Are you sure you're ready for this, Billy?" "Yeah, Brad. I keep telling myself that it's just like when I took Danny home to meet my parents. As far as they knew we were just roommates, and that's actually all we were, that first weekend anyway." "It shouldn't be too tough. Billy and I are just spending part of the day. We'll be on the road again by late afternoon." "Think you can act straight that long, Danny?" "Oh, it'll be a struggle but I think I can do it, Lucy. After all, I acted straight nearly eighteen years before I met Billy." "Yeah, before you met me. But now you can hardly keep your hands off me, babe." "I think we'd better just eat and keep our voices down, guys. We're starting to get some antagonistic looks from the other customers." "Starting, Peter? More than a few people have been glaring since we walked in. Longhaired hippie college kids probably aren't very welcome here. Never mind the race and gay issues." "I've never been south of Washington before, Mark. Is it this hostile in Florida?" "No, Peter, southern Florida is like a mixture of North and South. Besides, the city will be teeming with college kids so they have to be nice to us." We quickly finished our meal and said our goodbyes in the parking lot, promising to meet the others at the hotel the next day. Peter and Mark got in the backseat of Brad's car and they drove off. Standing there alone with Billy I felt a little nervous for the first time. We jumped in the car and Billy directed me through the small city. When we got to a residential neighborhood of small old cottages and lots of black faces in the yards I figured we were pretty close. I tried not to look like I was staring but I noticed a lot of people were staring back at us. "Between your blonde hair and white face and the New Jersey license plates they must be sure we're lost, baby. Don't worry, it's right around the corner." Billy pointed out a very neat little house surrounded by a well-kept yard and I pulled into the dirt driveway alongside it. "Okay, Danny, straight time. Let's go." We both took a deep breath and got out of the car. The front door opened and a tiny black woman in her sixties walked out onto the porch. Billy ran up the steps, took her in his arms and actually lifted her off the floor a few inches. When he set her down and let go of her to introduce us I could see the tears running down her cheeks. Billy looked about to cry himself. I had to remind myself that I couldn't touch him. "Lord have mercy, you're a sight for these old eyes. You've growed into a man, William." Mrs. Morgan was polite to me but a bit formal and distant. I suppose she thought the same of me. Billy and his grandmother and I sat on the porch and talked. Mrs. Morgan was polite and asked me a few questions about myself but after a while she and Billy turned to family news. I tried to follow but not knowing most of the people they were talking about made it a little confusing. They went on for over an hour until she asked about our plans for the rest of the trip. "Danny and I thought we'd visit for a while and then get back on the road sometime this afternoon. We'll stop at a motel when we get to Florida, then finish up the trip tomorrow." "Nonsense, you can stay here. I don't think it's a good idea for a white boy and a black boy to stay together in a motel in the South, even if it is Florida." "Times are changing, Gram. Besides, we've still got too far to go. Even if we leave early in the morning tomorrow we won't get there until night." "I've got an idea, Billy. If we can get some sleep this afternoon we can leave later and drive all night again. Then we'll get there by noon tomorrow." "Listen to your friend, William. You boys can sleep in the spare room and I'll fix a big meal for you and some of the family. You'll git some rest and you won't leave hungry." "That sounds like a good plan, Gram." "Well, if we're goin' to have your Uncle Roy and Aunt Cora for dinner I'm goin' to need a few things from the store. I'll make up a list and you can run down to Mr. Morgan's store for me, William." "We passed a big new supermarket up the road Gram. Danny and I can go there." "That's where the white folks shop. Mr. Morgan's is just fine with me. I been getting my food from him for over forty years. Leave your boyfriend here with me so's we can get to know each other." I flinched when she said boyfriend but apparently she didn't mean anything by it. Billy took the list and the car keys and left for the store. His grandmother and I sat on the front porch a while, not talking. It was a little unnerving. She just stared at me with a funny look on her face, almost as if she was trying to read my mind. Finally she broke the silence. "What have you done to William, boy?" "What do you mean, ma'am? I haven't done anything to him." I had no idea what she meant or where she was going with this. She was sounding a little like Billy's mother that first time we met. I began to pray for Billy to get back right away. "I know my William. He's a good boy and a bright boy but he's always had a wild streak that got him in lots of trouble. Somethin's always been eating away inside him, makin' him a little bit crazy, but he's changed. He's calmed down, like he's found peace." "Billy's grown up, that's all it is. He's not as angry anymore. The good guy inside him has won out over his demons. He's a good man." She was quiet for a couple of minutes and went back to just watching me. "Sounds like you love my William as much as he loves you." I was flabbergasted. I know my mouth dropped open. I could barely speak. "Wh-what do you mean, Mrs. Morgan?" "Don't pretend you don't know what I'm sayin'. I see the way he talks to you, the way he looks at you. I know what that means. William worships the ground you walk on, son. I've never seen him treat another person that way. He's grown up all right but the real change is because of you. Is that what the trouble with his folks is all about?' "I...I really shouldn't say anything about that, Mrs. Morgan. It's not my place. You should ask Billy." "I'm just a simple country woman. I can't pretend to understand what this is between you two. The Bible says it's wrong, I know that much, but the Bible says some strange things. I know William's a good boy and you seem to be good for him. And there's so much hate in this world. Lord knows I've seen more than anyone should have to witness. Jesus did say that loving one another is the most important thing, so I'm asking you, do you love William?" "Y-yes, ma'am, I do." Oh God, Billy's gonna kill me when he gets back from the store. "I love him with all my heart." "Well, well, well. William in love with a boy, and a white boy at that. The world sure is changing. I know it's supposed to be wrong but I can't condemn love. If you boys love each other and take care of each other, who am I to say it's wrong? Even the Lord might not object. It may not be exactly the kind of love he was talking about but any love is better than hate. I can see why my Sara has been having a fit over this, though. She's so proud of being a Christian but sometimes I think she pays so much attention to all of the words that she misses the meaning. Sometimes you can just tell in your heart when something is right." "I know it's right with Billy and me, Mrs. Morgan. I've never been more sure of anything in my life." "If you're gonna be family you've gotta start calling me Gram. Here comes William now. You just hush up and let me talk to him." Billy I couldn't wait to see Gram again but I was feeling a little nervous the whole drive down from New Jersey. Obviously Mama hadn't told her about Danny and me, but Aunt Cora lived a few doors down from Gram and surely Mama would have told her big sister. It would be hard to visit with Gram and avoid seeing the rest of the family living in the neighborhood. But it was so good when we finally got there and I saw Gram come out that front door. She seemed so much smaller than I remembered her but other than that she hadn't changed a bit. We sat on the porch and talked about family for a long time. Danny retreated into his shyness. Gram was polite to him but talked mostly to me, though it was obvious that she was curious about this white boy I'd brought along. I was hesitant to leave Danny alone with her when I went to the store but I learned as a small boy that one did as Gram said and asked no questions. I was hoping to do the shopping and get back fast but old man Morgan recognized me and asked me a hundred questions about my family up North, questions I couldn't really answer. I didn't want to let on there was any problem between my folks and me so I tried to give answers as vague and evasive as possible. I finally got away and raced back to the house. Danny and I tried to help Gram in the kitchen but she shooed us out. "You boys go get some sleep and leave this woman's work to me. I'll wake you in plenty of time before the others get here." We went into the spare room, stripped down to our underwear and collapsed on the bed. We'd been up over twenty-four hours and had driven all night so we were asleep the second our heads hit the pillows. It seemed like just a few seconds later when I heard a knocking and Gram's voice calling us. I quickly pulled myself away from Danny and got out of bed. "Try to sleep a few more minutes, Danny. I'll jump in the shower first and then you can wash up while I talk to Gram." Later, after I'd showed Danny how everything worked in the bathroom I joined Gram in the kitchen. I sat at the table and she poured me a cup of coffee. "Danny and I had a nice talk while you were at the store. Seems like you've found yourself a nice white boy." I nearly choked on my coffee at her use of that term. She said it so innocently but I wasn't sure what she meant. "He's a great guy, Gram. I wish you had more time to get to know him." "Maybe some other time, William. You boys sure looked sweet wrapped 'round each other like a couple of pups when I stuck my head in the door to wake you up just now." Oh God, she saw us. "I can explain that, Gram. I have bad dreams sometimes. Danny can make them go away by holding onto me. That's all it is." "I'm sure he does make them go away, but that's 'cause he loves you. And that's all it is." "What makes you say that, Gram?" "Like I said, Danny and I had a long talk. No, don't blame him. I didn't have much schoolin' but I ain't dumb. I figured it out myself by watching you two." "And you're okay with it? I mean, Mama totally freaked out and then started praying." "That sounds like my daughter. I cain't say that I'm okay with it, at least not yet. It wasn't ever talked about when I was young, still ain't around here, but somehow we knew it was a terrible thing. But you're not a terrible boy and your Danny doesn't seem like one either, so I'm keeping an open mind, at least about you two." "I love you, Gram." We didn't get as nice a welcome from the rest of the family or any welcome at all, for that matter. Apparently Mama had told Aunt Cora why I'd left home and she and Uncle Roy refused to come to dinner with me. Gram wasn't happy about that and I was sure they would be hearing a lot about it from her. "I don't know what's wrong with people these days. Family used to mean somethin'. None of us is perfect. We all do things our kin don't like. But you stand by 'em. Family's all you got, all you can count on. Least, that's how it used to be." "That's what I always thought, Gram. You may not like your family, but you're stuck with each other. I guess that's not really true." "It oughta be. It used to be." Gram and Danny and I enjoyed the meal by ourselves. Danny was a little more talkative than he had been in the morning. Not having to hide our relationship and being accepted made us both a lot more relaxed. Gram's food was the best, as usual, and she made my favorite dessert, her peach cobbler. Aunt Connie is a great cook but absolutely no one cooks like Gram. Danny and I were back on the road heading south around eight o'clock. Neither of us is much into coffee but we both had plenty of Gram's strong black brew before we left, knowing we'd be driving all night. "Gram sure surprised me back there. I don't know what you said to her, Danny, but she must have been mighty impressed with you." "I had nothing to do with it, Billy. In case you can't tell she really loves you. I think she was mostly impressed by the man you've grown up to be." "Maybe that is it but don't kid yourself, babe, you have everything to do with the kind of man I'm becoming." By the time we pulled up in front of the hotel in Ft. Lauderdale at nine the next morning we were both ready to drop. Our room wasn't going to be ready until three so we took our stuff up to Brad and Lucy's room. Brad answered the door wearing only shorts. "Hey, you finally made it! How'd everything go?" "Really good, man. Danny and I had a great visit with Gram. But we're dead on our feet. We really need some sleep." "Why don't you crash on the other bed here for a couple of hours? Lucy and I were just about to go down for breakfast and then we're going to do a little shopping. Peter and Mark said they were sleeping in and aren't leaving their room until lunchtime. Can't imagine what they're doing in there." Lucy came out of the bathroom dressed to go out. "Can't you at least put a shirt on, Brad? You're always teasing the boys." "He's got his shorts on, Luce. If he wanted to tease us he'd be wagging his dick at us." "The only wagging he's going to do is in my direction, Billy. But we're going out so Brad's got to finish getting dressed in any case. C'mon, hon, let's go, I'm famished." They left as soon as Brad finished dressing. Danny and I stripped down to our briefs and collapsed on the bed. The next thing I knew was a knock on the door. I got up, wiped the sleep out of my eyes and answered the door to a surprised Mark and Peter. "What are you doing here? We came to get Lucy and Brad for lunch." "We got in a few hours ago and our room's not ready yet, Mark. C'mon in, guys. Brad and Luce should be back soon." Mark and Peter filled us in on the rest of their trip down and their early night at the hotel while I got Danny up. We splashed some water on our faces and got dressed. Peter was obviously staring at both of us, especially Danny. "You guys are both really hot. You could be very popular and have lots of fun if you were into threesomes or groups." "Billy and I do just fine and have plenty of fun all by ourselves, Peter. We don't need any outside stimulation." "Don't knock it if you haven't tried it, guys." "You've done that kind of stuff, Peter?" "I was in a three-way last year, Danny. It was a blast." Mark was starting to look a little uncomfortable. "I don't think we need to know any more about that, Peter." Mark was saved by Brad and Lucy's arrival. The six of us went out for lunch then came back to get ready for the beach. Since they had arrived in the evening yesterday it was the first time for all of us to get some sun. Brad and Danny had to be the most careful not to burn but Peter was surprisingly fair skinned for a guy with black hair. We only stayed out for a couple of hours. When we came back to the hotel our room was ready so we checked in and got our stuff from Brad and Lucy's room. Our room was next to theirs like last year. Peter and Mark turned out to be across the hall so we were all pretty much together. We all went back to our rooms to clean up and get some rest before dinner. After dinner at a restaurant on the Strip we took both cars over to the Copa. The place was packed and it felt like old times. We did more dancing than drinking and planned to stay until closing but Danny started to droop around two. I was pretty tired myself but he'd done most of the driving from Gram's. Actually, he'd done most of the driving the first part of the trip, too. I'm getting better behind the wheel but Danny absolutely loves it, so I let him drive most of the time. We left the bar while it was still crowded and were back at the hotel by three. Danny and I stripped off our clothes and fell into bed. The next thing I knew it was daylight and I was laying on my left side with Danny pressed against my back. I could feel his hard cock wedged in the crack of my ass. His right hand was reaching around me, playing with my right nipple. "It's about time you woke up, Billy. I've been lying here dying to fuck you but didn't want you to miss it. Don't go anywhere." He pulled away but was back an instant later. I felt the cold touch of lube on my butt as he slid a finger up inside me. Danny lightly nibbled on the back of my neck as he played with my hole, finger fucking me, getting me ready for his dick. He pulled his finger out and in a second I felt a much larger blunt object pressing into me. As his head popped through into my ass he bit down on the side of my neck. I gasped and his dick slowly slid the rest of the way into me. I felt his pubes pressed against my cheeks and he wrapped his arms around me and held me tight. "Mind if I fuck you, black boy?" "You sure as hell better, white boy. You can't get any further up inside me and I know you're not planning on just leaving it there. Fuck me, Danny." He started pumping into me slowly at first but quickly picked up speed. He rolled me onto my belly and held himself up over me with his arms straight out, putting most of his weight into his hips as he thrust into me. His steel rod was pounding me like a jackhammer. We both got into the aggressiveness of the fuck and got really verbal with each other, cursing, groaning, coaxing, demanding, practically shouting at each other. After nearly ten minutes of rough fucking, with Danny's dick hitting that spot inside me and my hardon being pressed into the bed with each thrust I felt my cum boiling up inside my balls. My dick swelled up as I shot my load, making a gooey mess on the sheet and my belly. I clamped my ass muscles tight around his dick and I felt him stretch my hole even more as he began to shoot. He froze for a second with his first spurt, then continued slamming into me, shooting his seed way up inside me. He collapsed on top of me and we just lay there in our sweat, trying to catch our breath. "Damn, boy! If that's what a good night's sleep does for you, we've got to start getting to bed earlier." After a long relaxing shower together we called the others to see if they were up for something to eat. It was nearly noon so our breakfast would be lunch. Everyone was as close to being dressed as we were so we all met downstairs in the dining room in ten minutes. I looked around the table after we had ordered and noticed that everyone seemed to have that 'just fucked' look. Lucy was looking especially radiant. "It looks like you and Brad had a little breakfast in bed this morning, Luce." "A little? If you and Danny keep that up I won't be able to walk by the end of the week." "Me and Danny? What have we got to do with anything?" "You guys were so loud the only way we could drown you out was to make a little noise of our own. And you sounded so hot that you inspired Brad to go all out." "Yeah, I couldn't have Lucy thinking that a couple of fags were having a better time than we were, could I?" Brad gave me a wink. Peter looked at Mark. "I think we're in the wrong room, babe. Sounds like the other side of the hall is really jumping." "I didn't hear any complaints from you this morning, Peter." Lucy It's funny how the second half of the trip down felt so much different from the first. Once we left Billy and Danny behind in South Carolina our little group just felt smaller even though it was actually bigger. Brad and I had been alone at the beginning, but just knowing that all of the boys were in the other car, somewhere near us on the highway, made it feel like we were all together. This leg of the journey was a good chance for us to get to know Peter better and though the conversation ran on and on all the way to Florida, my mind kept wandering back to my boys. I hoped everything was going well with Billy's grandmother. God knows those two could use a little bit of family. We got into Ft. Lauderdale around seven Saturday night and had a light dinner in the hotel dining room. We'd been driving over twenty-five hours and were exhausted so we just had a couple of drinks at the bar in the hotel after dinner and then went back to our rooms for a good night's sleep. The next morning, Billy and Danny got in and the real vacation began. We quickly fell into last year's routine. Sleeping all morning, an early lunch, a few hours on the beach, then a nap before going out for dinner. And then, of course, dancing until all hours at the Copa. Before we knew it the week was gone and it was Friday night. The guys had talked Brad out of his tradition of buying dinner the first night because there were six of us and it would have cost him too much. He agreed only on the condition that he would still buy the last night. They gave in because it was his last Spring Break; he'd be graduating in June. By the time we got to the Copa the place was packed. We got a round of drinks and stood in the middle of the crowd, trying to talk over the noise. We finally gave up on conversation and headed for the dance floor. After a while we got a second round and looked in vain for a table we could squeeze around. I was tired of standing and could really use some air so I made a suggestion. "Why don't we go outside, guys? There's usually lots of room to sit on the patio. I know you can't hear the music much out there but quiet can be kind of nice, too." "You guys go on ahead, I've gotta see a man about a horse. I'll find you outside." Peter headed back toward the men's room and we went out the side door to the patio. Sure enough, there was a big empty table under a palm tree. Everybody but Brad sat down. He put his drink down on the table next to me. "Peter had a good idea. I think I'll hit the men's room before I get too comfortable." "If you see him, tell him his boyfriend's lonely and horny." "Will do, Markie." A few minutes later, Peter came out looking a little flustered and grabbed Mark's arm. "C'mon, babe. Let's go back inside and dance." "We just sat down, Peter. Let's rest a bit." "Rest later, Mark. I want to dance now. Let's go." Peter turned and headed toward the door. Mark got up, downed his drink, shrugged at the rest of us and followed. I saw Brad come out of the door, pause and talk to Peter a second. Then he headed over to the table, looking more than a little pissed. "What's up, Brad? Did somebody come on to you again in the men's room?" "That wouldn't bother me so much, Billy. I'm actually starting to get used to that. Though it is what happened in the men's room that has me steamed. I nearly slugged Peter just now." "Peter? What's the problem?" "I couldn't believe it, Danny. I walked into the bathroom and there was Peter, on his knees in an open stall blowing some guy. The guy panicked when he saw me, put his stuff away and slipped out. Peter just stood up and smiled at me as if they'd been shaking hands." "What did you do?" "I lost my cool for a second, Danny. I grabbed the front of his shirt and slammed him back against the wall, told him that if I ever even heard of him cheating on Mark again, I'd beat the crap out of him." "Damn! I can't believe he'd do that here, Brad. I mean, we all know his 'free love' mentality, but he's here with Mark. If he wants to see other guys he can do it when Mark isn't around." "Yeah, Lucy. We've all had such a great week here together and he and Mark have obviously been fucking each other's brains out. Even knowing how he feels about relationships I'm surprised that he felt the need to make it with another guy now. And with a stranger in a public place." "You're right, Brad. It's a shitty thing to do. Cheating on Mark right in the middle of a night out with him and right out in the open, too. That seems to be way beyond just not believing in monogamy. It's almost like he was going out of his way to show off or something." "I agree, Billy. He was either being really obnoxious or really insensitive, and that's not the way he's seemed all week. I can't figure him out, and right now, I don't want to. But I have to decide what to tell Mark. He's gotta know what a jerk Peter is but I don't want to hurt him." "Maybe Danny and I can talk to him, Brad. He's not only gonna be hurt that Peter did this but he'll probably feel humiliated that we all know about it. Knowing how much he looks up to you and really wants your approval, he might not take it too well getting the news from you." "You're probably right. Maybe you can wait until we get home. We're leaving tomorrow and I'd hate to ruin Mark's vacation. But I don't think I can be civil to Peter for too long. Maybe it would be better if he and Mark rode with you guys on the way home." "Sure, Brad. There's plenty of room in our car." Mark Something was definitely up with Peter when he came back from the men's room. He was angry about something and acted like he didn't want to be around the others. I think he would have left me with them if I hadn't followed him back into the club. I had almost caught up with him when Brad came out of the door, said something to Peter and walked right past me toward the table. After a few minutes on the dance floor he calmed down and acted like he had earlier in the night. He said he wanted to spend the rest of our last night in Florida with just me so we didn't see much of the others the rest of the night. I thought he must have had a great week and wasn't looking forward to leaving because he was so much more affectionate than usual, making out whenever we weren't dancing, pressing me up against the wall, trying to get his tongue down my throat. He made me so horny I almost couldn't wait for the night to end so we could get back to our room to fuck. I said as much to him as we left the dance floor around two-thirty. "I feel the same way, baby. Let's go outside for some air." I saw the others on the opposite side of the dance floor, caught Lucy's eye and waved as we headed for the door. Peter grabbed my hand and led me to the back of the patio to a secluded spot behind a couple of bushes. It was kind of dark and I could just barely see the rest of the patio over the bushes. He pulled me into a tight embrace and kissed me fiercely, grinding his groin against mine. He reached down and squeezed my ass hard. "I want to fuck you, Mark. I want to feel my dick in your hot tight hole." "You got it, Peter. You can fuck me senseless as soon as we get back to the hotel. You know all you have to do is ask and even that's not always necessary." "No, I want it now." "Here? We're in public, at a crowded bar. We can't fuck now." "Sure we can, babe. No one can see what we're doing back here and we can see if someone starts getting too close. We've got plenty of privacy." With his left hand he undid my shorts and started pushing them down my thighs. He unzipped his shorts with the other hand and pulled out his hard dick. "No, Peter, it's too public. Someone will see." Just then I saw Danny come out the door, looking all around. Our eyes met and he headed over toward us. "Cut it out, Danny's coming." "Damn!" I pulled away from Peter and pulled my shorts up, zipping them just as Danny rounded the bushes. Peter turned and faced Danny, his hard cock still standing straight out in front of him. He made a big production out of trying to get it back in his shorts. "Jeez, Peter, can't you keep that thing in your pants?" "Sorry, Danny, Mark got me so hot I almost lost control for a minute. What's up?" "You mean, other than your dick? It's time to get going, guys." "Ah, it's still early. Why are we going?" "We've got to check out of the hotel by noon tomorrow, Peter, then we've got a really long ride home ahead of us." "Then we'd better get going if we want to have a little fun before bed. What do you say, Peter?" "Well, when you put it that way." Peter kept his hand in my shorts all the way back to the hotel. When we got to the room he practically tore my clothes off and fucked me hard. No preliminaries, no foreplay, just a ferocious rough fuck. I loved it though I knew I'd be sore in the car on the ride home. Afterwards, we just lay in each other's arms, trying to catch our breath. "Where did that come from? That was really intense, Petey. Not that I'm complaining. I loved it but you were really an animal." "Sometimes I just get incredibly horny and can't control myself. I've gotta do what feels good." He was quiet for a minute. "You know, overall I like your friends, but Brad can be a real asshole sometimes." "What are you talking about? I didn't see him do anything wrong tonight." "He just doesn't get this whole open relationship thing. He acts like such an old fart." "Well, we don't exactly have an official open relationship. I mean, you and I haven't really defined anything yet. We're just going together. We haven't made any kind of commitment to each other yet; we haven't reached that point. So I guess we're both free to date others if we want. I don't want to, but you probably see others back at school when we're not together. I'm not crazy about it, but I know the way you feel about it." "That's what I mean. Our relationship is still pretty casual, no rules. But Brad acts like we're married, chained to each other." "I don't see where you're getting that. Did you guys somehow have a disagreement when I wasn't around?" "You know how horny I was tonight. When I went into the men's room earlier, there was this hot stud at the next urinal. He was half hard and huge. What a great dick! He stroked it a little and smiled at me. He obviously wanted me. So we stepped into a booth and I dropped down onto the floor and began to suck his dick. It was so hot, doing him right there in the bathroom. But then Brad walked in and had a fit. The guy ran out and Brad slammed me against the wall and threatened me. He just doesn't get it. I was just having a little fun." I felt like he'd kicked me in the stomach. Shit! How could he do that to me? Fuck! We'd been together all week, fucking like rabbits. Wasn't I enough for him? Why did he need somebody else? And everybody must know. How can I face them in the morning, much less ride all the way home with them? "What's the matter, babe? Don't tell me you're upset, too?" "Of course I am. You've humiliated me in front of my friends. How do you think I feel?" "There's nothing to feel humiliated about. I was horny and an opportunity came up. It had nothing to do with you. They may think I'm a slut but that doesn't reflect on you." "Yeah, so you say. So why do I feel like shit?" Peter kept on talking but I wasn't in the mood. Finally he fell asleep but I just lay there forever, staring at the ceiling. In the morning I got up early, packed and left a note for Peter that I went for a walk on the beach. I had to figure out how I was going to deal with him, with my friends, with everything. I don't know how long I'd been walking when I heard my name called. I turned and Danny was running toward me. "Hey, Mark. Peter said you'd gone for a walk. Are you okay? " "Not really, Danny. I don't know what I'm doing. Peter told me about his run-in with Brad last night. I suppose Brad told you guys all about it." "Yeah, he did. How do you feel about it?" "Like shit. I mean, I know we not even seriously dating, like going steady, but I never expected him to do something like that. It hurts. You guys must think I'm really pathetic." "Well, we sure don't think much of Peter right now, but we love you Mark. All we care about is that you are okay. We just want you to be happy, but obviously you're not." "That's just it, Danny. Most of the time Peter does make me happy. I love being with him. I could easily fall in love with him. But I know where he stands on relationships and I'm not sure I can handle it." "Then what are you gonna do?" "I don't know. I keep telling myself that if our relationship keeps on progressing that eventually he'll just want me and nobody else. In the meantime, I can deal with him seeing others if I don't know the details. But having it thrown in my face hurts." "You've got to decide what you really want and need, Mark. I know I couldn't live with a situation like that but you're the only one who can decide for you. Is what you have with him enough? Can you be happy like this?" "I'm sure not happy right now but maybe we can make it work, somehow. There are lots of times when he really does make me happy." "Then you have to talk to him. He's not going to change overnight but maybe some rules would help. You can't really be happy if he keeps hurting you." "Yeah, I think we need to have a long talk when we get back to school." We were almost back to the hotel. "This is gonna be really uncomfortable, facing the others." "Don't worry about it, Mark. Billy's trying to work out a truce between Brad and Peter. And you're riding back with us so that should be a little easier. Just remember we all love you." "Thanks, Danny. You guys are the best. I'm sorry to always be such a problem." "You're not a problem, ever. You're our friend. We'll always be there for you." I may be a mess but somehow I lucked out. Thank God for friends.
