The Boys of the Lady Lex Chapter 56 "Cadet" Written By Douglas DD and Benjamin T. C. The last day of the war games was almost anti-climactic after the excitement of the capture the Flag portion. The day consisted of the starship battle in space, known as the Seek and Destroy games, and a ground version of capture the flag on the surface of Hawking's Planet. The Lady Lex had gained 100 points for winning the flag, and with various point adjustments for ships damaged and disabled ended up with 117 points overall. The starship battle and the ground games were each worth fifty points along with various adjustments. The war games could often put ships that were far out of contention right back into contention, or leave leading ships out in the cold. The object of the starship battle was to score a direct hit on one of the red targets on the opposing ship. Each ship had four targets, one on each side as well as one on the top and one on the bottom. Hits on the opposing ship would net points, and indirect hits would net even more points, while being hit would subtract points. Points were also awarded based on time of battle. The average battle lasted twenty minutes. The record for quickest take out was 4 minutes 55 seconds by the "Monitor" over the now retired "Pittsburgh" ten years ago. If the target was hit between a 75 and 90 degree angle, as determined by the electronic sensor embedded in the target, it was scored as a direct hit. Captain Hatcher didn't think much of his ship's chances in the seek and destroy games. Though she carried better fire power than the other academy ships, the Lady Lex was old and slow and would have a difficult time outmaneuvering her opponent. The good news was the Lady Lex had drawn the "Gettysburg", the only ship she had any chance of beating. The only other piece of good news was that the Lady Lex managed to give the "Gettysburg" a good battle before succumbing a direct hit twenty-five minutes into the battle. Mike, Scottie, Carson, Scooter, TJ, Eric Larsen, and Jeff staffed the bridge under the watchful eye of Captain Hatcher, while Ryan and Jesse took charge of engineering under the gaze of Captain Ely Storm. While disappointed to have been passed over for the pilot's position, Ben was also somewhat relieved. The three days of shuttle battles had left him exhausted and he knew he would not have been at his best. Still, he missed the prestige and the action of piloting the starship. The Lady Lex managed to get some hits in, including a glancing hit on one of her opponent's red targets, but the "Gettysburg" always seemed to be a step ahead of her. Captain Hatcher knew he didn't have all of his "A-team" on the bridge, but he also knew his best cadets were tired from the three days of shuttle exercises. When the "Gettysburg" finally scored a direct hit on the port target of the Lady Lex Captain Hatcher was not surprised. The crew was disappointed, but both Hatcher and Storm assured them they had represented the Lady Lex well and they were pleased with their efforts. Commander Winters of the "Gettysburg" congratulated the Lady Lex on putting up a gallant fight. The crew then carefully maneuvered the big ship through the space yachts and shuttles lining the battle area and placed her back in orbit. The "Port Royal", who defeated the "Orion" in a spectacular forty minute battle in the semi-finals, ended up losing to the Kritons in a fifteen minute battle totally dominated by the quicker and more maneuverable Kriton ship. One thing noted by all the SFA officers was that the Kriton ship never used cloaking technology during any of her three battles. The question, of course, was whether this was because the ship didn't have it, or because the Kritons had smartened up and decided not to reveal more about their technology. Their starship certainly didn't need it. She won all three of her battles easily, including beating the "Gettysburg" in just over five minutes in their semi-final match. With the space portion of the Olympics completed, the cadets of the various ships started shuttling back to the surface of Hawking's planet. ***** The ground group did a little better. The games consisted of cadets who weren't on a shuttle or bridge crew and counted for the same number of points as the starship competition. Tall bleachers were strategically placed around the flag positions. Unlike the shuttle Capture the Flag game, the location of the opponent's flag was known from the start. The challenge was capturing it with the fewest casualties possible. The set up for spectators was much like in golf, with the best seats close to the flag positions. The Lady Lex drew the "Monitor" for the first round of the loser out games. She acquitted herself well. The Lady Lex cadets were, for the most part, city boys but their innate street smarts, as well as the excellent training they had received from Sergeants Flint and Murdock, were enough for them to win the first round. In the second round they had to face the Kritons, who showed that they had no problems getting around in thick forest and brush and as well as showing strategic soundness. They had captured the "Spirit's" flag easily in the first round. The Kritons went on to defeat the "Gettysburg" in the finals after the "Gettysburg" cadets surprised both the "Orion" and "Port Royal" in the first two rounds. ***** It was now Wednesday morning and Trevor Collins was standing at attention in Commander Creevey's hotel room. He tried to keep a military bearing about him, but it was next to impossible for the twelve year old boy. Creevey looked at him with a somewhat bemused look on her face. She had already made her decision, but she wasn't going to make Trevor's job easy. "You realize that as a senior officer you are expected to attend as many of your ship's contests as you can." "Yes I do, and I will. I was planning on doing this tonight. It won't take long and...please, Commander. Please, I really need to do this." It was not like Trevor to beg for something. Trevor always liked to consider himself cool and collected, not somebody who let emotions govern him. But he felt strongly about what he wanted to do. "Your feelings for your friend are commendable, Ensign." "Does the mean your answer is yes?" "Yes, Mister Collins, that means my answer is yes." Trevor unsuccessfully fought back a smile. "But, you must be accompanied by an adult member of the crew..." "Can Mr. Wolfe go with me?" "I would appreciate not being interrupted, Ensign." "Sorry." "However, Mr. Wolfe is one of the persons I had in mind. I am sure, considering the circumstances, that he will be more than willing to accompany you. Permission to visit your friend is granted." Trevor smiled and then said, "I have one more question." Amanda Creevey sighed inwardly, then said," Yes, Trevor?" "Can I take the rest of the Birds of Prey with me?" This time Amanda Creevey sighed outwardly. Trevor Collins, she realized, was a very difficult boy to satisfy. She was perceptive enough to realize Trevor Collins possessed the qualities of the best commanders and that, with proper guidance, Trevor Collins could someday make one hell of a fine starship captain. ***** The only Birds of Prey Trevor could find were Ian and Spencer. Harrison Wolfe called a taxi and they soon were on their way to the hotel where Matt was staying. He knew Brian was with Zjan-Ren, but he had no idea where the others were. He also knew he had to be back in time to do some things he promised with Brian. "That must have been pretty scary at Jake's house," Trevor said. "It had its moments," Wolfe said coolly. "We should have been the ones to rescue Matt. The Birds of Prey would have come charging in and Brian would've chopped Jake Masters down with one swoop of his sword." "Stealth appeared to work better than charging through the front door in this case," Wolfe said with a straight face that hid an interior smile. "Maybe, but sometimes you just have to run in and get the job done." "Stealth and cunning have served you well, Master Collins. Charging into Jake Master's compound would not have produced the rescue of young Matthew. Nor would it have gotten you a fine collection of academy flags. You have done well, Master Collins. You have been a good pupil." He looked at the other two boys sitting in the back seat of the cab. "In fact your entire team has done well." Trev's face glowed with pride. "But, you still have a lot to learn," Wolfe added. Trev's look turned to a blush of embarrassment. Outside of his own father, Harrison Wolfe was the man he respected most in his life. He would do anything to please Harrison Wolfe. His mentor was probably the only person who could control Trevor's wild off-the-wall urges, who could get Trevor to channel his impatience and desire to get things done now into a well thought out plan of success. The cab pulled up in front of the Starpointe Hotel. Wolfe paid the cab fare and the party entered the elevator and rode it to the 14th floor. They strode up the hall and turned a corner. Ahead of them they saw two marines guarding a hotel room door. "Jake Masters had many enemies," Wolfe said, "but he also had many loyal friends that I would guess are not real happy with your young friend at this moment." The marines challenged Wolfe and the boys as they approached the room. Wolfe produced a document and handed it to the marines, who had been forewarned of the visit. Once they confirmed that the visitors were who they said they were, they knocked on the door. Trevor could hear a muffled voice from behind the door. "Your friends are here," the marine replied. The door opened and Trevor could see Matt standing there, wearing a closed bathrobe. His legs and feet were bare and, judging by the neckline of the robe, so was his torso. Matt grinned when he saw the three Birds of Prey. He opened the door wider and the three boys stepped in. Trevor turned to look for Harrison Wolfe, but his mentor had silently disappeared from sight, like a rabbit in a magic act. After the three boys entered the room, Matt closed the door. Trevor looked around the room. It had two queen sized beds, but one of them had obviously not been slept in. No surprise there, except for the uniform draped neatly across the couch. Upon noticing the uniform Trevor also became aware of the shower running in the bathroom. Matt had obviously not spent the night alone. Matt let his robe drop open, revealing his smooth torso and his genitals, his dick barely showing a sprinkling of pubic hair. He grinned at Trevor and the Birds, who grinned back at him. Trevor looked more closely at the uniform on the couch. He recognized the logo and color of the uniform and, as a result, was certain who Matt had slept with. Matt noticed Trevor looking at the uniform and blushed. "He's in the shower," Matt said. "Cool. I can hear it." Ian and Spencer both stayed in the background, waiting to see how the scene would play out. "I'm glad you guys came," Matt said, changing the subject. "So are we. Are you okay?" "Yeah. I'll be okay." "Are they going to arrest you or anything?" "No. The police and everybody say it was self defense." "Cool. Is he helping you?" Trevor asked, nodding his head towards the bathroom door. "Big time. I...I think...no...I know I love him." "Wow. That's pretty heavy." "Yeah. But he's been with me since that night and he, well, you know..." The fact that one bed was a mess and the other was immaculately finished the sentence wordlessly. "I hope he feels the same about you. It would suck..." "He does suck," Matt giggled. "And he does. And the fact that he's older than me doesn't mean anything," he volunteered, anticipating Trev's next question. "I mean, I am almost thirteen. And he does love me, he loves me big time." Trevor looked at the neatly draped uniform again and said, "But what about his dad..." Once again Matt interrupted him. "I know. It's something we'll just have to live with. I know we can handle it. I mean we love each other, and that will take of everything, right?" Before Trevor could answer he was interrupted by the bathroom opening and a naked figure stepping out, casually drying himself with a towel. Trevor nodded with satisfaction as he saw he had been right in his guess at the identity of Matt's lover. The figure stopped drying himself, surprised to see the visitors in the room. They had been expected, but he thought he had more time. "You guys know how to surprise somebody," Tim Whitaker said with a big grin. "That's because us Lady Lex boys have had lots of practice sneaking up on you `Orion" pukes." Trev's comment was said both in a kidding and a serious manner. Tim elected to take it as kidding. "So, I guess you know about me and Matt." "Congratulations." "This coming from a straight boy?" "Come on, I know Matt told you what we did." "He did. And he said it was a great night. Even if he did have to sleep with a Triple L." Trevor felt his hackles rising and saw Spencer make a move towards Tim. "Take it easy. I was just playing with you guys. I don't care what my crewmates think; I think you guys are awesome. Without you, I wouldn't have Matt." The boys sat down, with Tim and Matt sitting on the bed. Matt had shed his robe and both boys were now naked and holding hands. Trevor noticed that Tim had a well-formed body for a 15 year old. His thick dark hair was cut short and his smooth face was broken by a thin line of hair above his upper lip. He had a light red mark along his neck where Jake Masters' knife had nicked him. Trevor also couldn't help noting that Tim was quite well endowed. He wondered how big he was when he was hard. "This happened kind of fast," Ian said, the first time anybody but Trevor had spoken. "Not really," Tim said. "I've known Matt for a couple of years. Matt was a big partier at my house. We loved playing around together and were always good friends. It's just that what happened the other night...well, we haven't been apart since." Tim planted a big kiss on Matt's lips. "But you guys are going to be separated soon," Trevor said, afraid of what would happen to his new friend if he was alone again. "No we're not," Tim said. "You're not? You mean you're going to leave the `Orion'?" "No way. I actually found a ship I like. Nope, I'm not going to Matt, he's coming to me." Trevor looked at Matt, then at Tim, and then back at Matt. "That's right," Matt said, once again anticipating Trev's question. "I have been accepted as an eighth grade cadet on the `Orion' staring this fall. I will be with my Tim." This time Matt planted the kiss on Tim. The Birds of Prey could see the result of the kissing between the legs of the two boys. Trevor wasn't at all disappointed in what he saw from Tim. Seven inches for sure, he thought. "Congratulations again. That was quick." "It helps having dads in high places," Matt said. "We better go," Spencer said, speaking up for the first time. "You guys look like you need to be alone." "I was wondering why you guys weren't naked yet," Matt said with a sexy leer. "You mean it's okay if we...?" Spencer started asking. "Why not? We know you've all done it," Tim said. "We have to leave here in an hour," Ian said. "That's enough time to do it twice," Tim said. Within thirty seconds all three Birds of Prey were naked, revealing three pubescent dicks that were hard and ready for sex. ***** At various venues, the games continued. The Lady Lex became one of the four finalists in Friday's Academic finals. She did remarkably well in rowing, finishing 5th, with the "Port Royal" winning the regatta. The "Monitor" won the tennis finals, far ahead of the 7th place Lady Lex. The hockey and fencing finals were left; fencing on Thursday and hockey on Friday. The Lady Lex had qualified for both. The baseball and basketball elimination games would be on Thursday with the finals on Saturday. The JFSA Olympics were quickly coming to an end. ***** Johnny Cooper kissed Tina Hatcher's hard young teen breasts. He couldn't get enough of the captain's daughter. He had already cum three times for this evening and was ready for more. "Oh, Johnny, I love you," Tina cried out as Johnny sucked on her breast and pushed his finger into her vagina. "Let's not go there," Johnny said. "But it's true." "You told me you had a thing for the doctor's kid, Douglas." "That was a crush is all, and he's gay anyway, like my cousin, who is his boyfriend.now. It's you that I love." Johnny said nothing as he guided his hard cock into the depths of her cunt. All he wanted right now was another fuck. The love part could wait until later. ***** Kalon Masters sat on a chair in Matt's room. Matt and Tim sat on the couch holding hands. "I just want you to know that if you ever need me, I will be here for you," Kalon said. "Even though I killed your dad?" Matt asked. "He quit being my dad a long time ago. I was surprised he was still alive. He was special to me at one time. He was even good, a long time ago. I mean he was a thief and a smuggler and a scoundrel and all, but he wasn't an evil man. Somehow it all went to his head. He wanted too much. He deserved to die." He got up off the chair. "I'm glad you two have each other. Just remember, someday you might be in trouble. Jake had his friends. And when the time comes, Kalon Masters will be there for you. That's a promise." He gave the two boys a mock salute and left the room. The killing of Jake Masters had left him at a crossroads in some ways. He could go on being the rebellious ensign, the son of Jake Masters, the former smuggler, ready to break the rules and to challenge authority. Or he could decide he'd been an ensign long enough and work to become the SFA officer his superiors believed he could be. In a way he envied Matt. It would take time, but he would shake off the shadow of Jake Masters. Kalon now wondered if he would be able to do the same. ***** That same evening the Kriton fleet changed its position. The SFA spy drones made note of the movement, but as yet there appeared to be no direct threat, even though the movement placed the fleet closer to the SFA borders. Also noted was the movement of nine starships slowly making their way in the opposite direction. SFA intelligence decided that if they maintained their present route for another twenty-four hours they would write the flotilla off as an exploratory expedition and stop tracking it. It was obviously heading toward an uninhabited sector of space. Admiral Natter sat in the admiralty cabin of the "Ticonderoga". He was concerned about the lack of concern SFA headquarters was showing regarding the movement of the Kriton fleet. He felt the fact that the "maneuvers" were edging closer and closer to the SFA borders and to Earth was something to be worried about. As much as he wanted to be on the planet's surface watching the JFSA games, and to secretly root for the boys of the "Lexington," he felt his place right now was in orbit on his flagship. He had both the SFA fleet and the JFSA ships on highest alert. The other place for concern was Griffin, the site of the peace talks. Both SFA and Kriton ships were orbiting the planet in close proximity. Admiral Whitaker was there, but he knew the alert status had not been stepped up at all. The Kriton fleet was moving, but Whitaker had done virtually nothing but move the Earth defense fleet away from Earth, placing it between Earth and the Kriton fleet. Yet he had recalled no other ships to help, and was keeping the alert status low. What the hell was Whitaker thinking? To be continued...
