Chapter 7

Puck

"Something's happening," Minchi states.

Sure enough the bells on the Witch towers are ringing. From our window high in the tower we can see dozens of witchdoctors scatter like little mice towards the connector that lead to the palace. The bells hadn't rung before but I know there's a reason they are ringing. I know there is a reason that we are hearing it here high in the witch towers. Professor Aniston is in a room called the Sewing room. Magic users like me use the room to sew our talismans.

Talisman magic. There are four pillars on the Witch Towers in Eden. Four pillars for the four types of magic. Sacrifice, Castor, Divination and the type of magic that I use: Talisman. Talisman isn't flashy like the others. We can't use blood magic to summon spirits to do our bidding. We don't have the power to control the forces of the natural world for a variety of effects. We aren't held at high esteem like the Divination witches who read the past, present and future.

Talisman magic is just different.

"Puck! I need you to pay attention."

I look over at the professor clearly annoyed, "It wasn't even...ugh...nevermind."

I stop. Minchi was one of my best friends. I didn't want to rat her out. I used to live in the South Korea when Minchi's coven found me. My real family had died when I was much younger. Growing up in foster home after foster home I never really fit in. The boy who played with dolls. That's what they called me. You know how you're about 8 and playing with toys is fine. Then you get to about 11 and you try to hide it because the rest of your friends are getting into sports. Around 13, it becomes a little weird.

It wasn't until Minchi and her coven found me that I realized my addiction to these toys was something more. It was magic.

"You're quite the smart ass, aren't you?" Professor Aniston states.

He doesn't like me . He never has. He's always picking on me. People like Minchi get away with everything. Sure I was somewhat of a class clown. I mean this shit was boring to say the least. Sitting around in big purple robes making dolls all goddam day and never doing a damn thing with them. Who does that but magic users? I'm bored to death. Everyone else is satisfied with it but so bored that I think I might just peel over and become a vampire without being bitten. When the coven decided to make the migration to the city of Monsters in Eden I felt like I would finally fit in. I was wrong.

"I'm sorry professor."

I give him my smile. I have a little gap. That doesn't make me any less attractive though. I looked good. I'm was tall, fit and extremely energetic. I was Asian, but one had dark skin. A lot of people l said I looked just like Asian actor Henry Shum Jr. but they think every Sian person looks the same. The ladies loved me including Minchi until she found out I was gay. Chicks dig a guy with a sense of humor, that and a big dick. Trust me I had the big dick covered. I literally had to dye my hair pink so that they would understand that I'm gay

"Sorry isn't good enough."

It never is for him. Here I was for apologizing and I hadn't even interrupted anyone or said a goddam thing. I give a real hard look at Minchi. She's such a punk and she's scared because her Aunt Mae is also in the sewing room. Mae would go crazy if she found out Minchi was acting up again.

"It won't happen again," I promise.

There is more laughter. The worst part of all of this is that these people are of all ages. Different Talisman covens have come together in the class. You had 6 year olds laughing at me as well as 50 year olds. There was no limit for schooling with the witch towers since we came to Eden. Ambassador Micko made sure of it. If you lived in Eden you practiced and learned magic until the day you die. No breaks. No graduating. No ceremony. Forever until you die.

"It better not," Professor Aniston tells me.

I get annoyed. I sit back in my seat. There was no way in hell I was going to let him get away with this. I take out my doll at that moment.

I pull out a doll at that moment from my bag. The doll looks just like Professor Aniston. The old man shed his hair like a werewolf in heat. Fortunately for me I managed to keep one of those hairs. I tie the hair to the doll.

"Puck...don't..." Minchi says.

She is the only one in the class who sees what I'm doing. She knows me well enough to know what I'm thinking .

I begin to play with the doll.

All of a sudden Professor Aniston stops in his tracks. He's working with one of the older witches on creating a doll but he stands up completely straight.

I move the legs on the doll. Professor Aniston moves with the doll. He makes his way to his old radio that he uses to play soothing classical music so that we can concentrate during class. Except he doesn't play classical music. With me moving my fingers he is switching it to hip hop.

"What the hell is happening? What's happening?" Professor Aniston asks.

The class breaks out into laughter when Pop that Pussy by 2live Crew starts blasting in the sewing room. Against his will Professor Aniston is bent over a sewing machine. He bens and straightens his old raggedy legs along with the rhythm of the music. He begins to shake and move his booty as he twerks to the music:

Pop that pussy! Heyyy! Pop that pussy, baby!

Pop that pussy! Pop, pop that pussy, baby!

Freaky bitches with plenty of ass

Rollin' to the music and shakin' real fast

Bend over backwards, make me shout

It's Mae who is the first one to realize who is using Talisman magic. She runs over to me, grabs the doll out of my hand before screaming loudly, "PUCK!"

As soon as she removes the Aniston's hair he stops. I can see him flaming red with anger as he looks over at me.

"TO THE HEADMISTRESS OFFICE! NOW!"

~

"Puck...again," the Headmistress Angelica states, "Why am I not surprised?"

Angelica is one of the Sacrifice users. She's from the same coven as King Genesis himself. She's not alone though. I notice she has someone else in the room with her.

"You must be busy. You know what. It's OK. It's cool. I'll just go discipline myself. I regret taking control of the Professor's body. It was not funny."

It was hilarious. Angelica doesn't really have a sense of humor. Most of the Sacrifice users don't. They are a serious bunch, but they are powerful as the stink on werewolf shit. When they weren't sacrificing chickens with blowtorches in their basements I assumed they were founding schools because they were responsible for founding the Witch Towers.

"Sit your ass down Puck," Angelica responds, pointing at the chair.

I sit down. The guy whose with Angelica looks over at me. At first I don't recognize him but I know he's one of the Sacrifice users. I mean they all wore red. They all have that island look to them as well.

"They are playing the Asian card. Aniston don't like Asian people," I respond.

"This is your 58th time in my office."

"You've been counting?"

"Yes. I have," Angelica states, "In fact I have a file on you. It says here. Pi Lee. Also known as Puck. Like most talisman users, this user can create voodoo dolls (also known as Poppets) of other beings to utilize in whatever way the user deems necessary. In order to create the voodoo dolls, the user must have a form of genetic material/DNA or some sort of physical essence that can be used to create the doll of their victim. Once made, the doll can be used by the maker to inflict damage on the opponent or those around the opponent. The doll can be deactivated, but it is up to the user's will whether they still want a doll to be effective or not to free a victim from their power."

I shrug, "You make it sound so technical."

"Magic is technical. You've torture not just poor Professor Aniston but other people in this school. Your file is a novel. Mind control, mutilation, pain inducement, torment inducement, puppet mastery, motor-skill manipulation. TWERK manipulation."

The man next to the Headmistress breaks out laughing. I'm honestly surprised. Headmistress Angelica doesn't find this funny at all. She never has.

"Exactly what I need," the man says.

"You think this is funny, Mason?"

The name sounds familiar. So familiar.

The man named Mason looks back at Angelica, "Sort of."

"Magic isn't a game. It's serious. There's a reason the witch towers were built. All magic users must stay disciplined and keep learning throughout their entire lives to prevent magic from being misused."

"You mean the towers are used to contain magic," the man argues, "Angelica we've known each other too long to be giving each other speeches. Some people are naturally inclined. This kid. He reminds me of my son."

Then I remember. The few times I was paying attention in class was when they were talking about the history of magic. Mason was in there. Times he fought side by side with the Moreen Coven to battle demons. I'd read about it all. He was a hero in magic terms.

"You're Mason Wright?" I ask.

He's exactly what I thought he would look like. I looked up to this guy from all the stories. There weren't a lot of gay magic Talisman users. When I was adopted into my coven it seemed like they were annoyed at the fact that I was gay. The fact that this guy wasn't only gay but the powerful leader of the coven of Sacrificial witches definitely makes me look up to him. I'm a little star struck right now.

"Yeah, it's nice to meet you. I've heard a lot about you Puck. The Headmistress tells me you are one of the most powerful Talisman users in the Witch Towers."

I look over at Angelica. I'm a little surprised she thinks that of me especially after all the times I've been in this office because of the mischief I've caused.

"I wouldn't call Twerk Manipulation power," I admit.

Angelica shakes her head, "He has skills. He just lacks discipline."

"I need him," Mason states.

I'm confused.

"Need me for what?"

They ignore me. Angelica and Mason are talking in the office as though I don't exist.

"He's not ready," Angelica states ,"Whyte, Mickson, Morgan and Circe are more than enough."

"Enough for what?" I butt in.

"I am putting together a team," Mason explains, "I'm putting a team together that may be able to prevent a war."

I'm more confused. I look at the serious looks on Mason's face and Angelica's face. They don't look like they are playing any games. They look serious.

Angelica goes into detail with what Mason is talking about, "As you know there are rebels in Eden. They are making their move against King genesis. King Genesis is missing."

"Like milk carton missing?"

"This is serious Puck," the Headmistress interrupts me, "We believe he is on a one man mission to find out who killed his brother Exodus. The King will kill everyone and everything in his path. Mason is putting together a team to find the king and bring him back to safety."

"Safety? You just said he is going to kill everyone in his path. It looks like wherever he is at is the place that isn't going to be safe," I state.

I don't know if I'm tripping. I'd heard stories about King Genesis. I don't think he was the type to need rescuing.

Mason shakes his head, "If Genesis leaves a blood bath in his wake, there will be complete chaos in Eden. This is exactly what the rebels want. This is exactly why Exodus was killed. We need to bring Genesis back to prevent this. We need powerful witches...we need you."

No one's ever needed me before. Hell no one's ever really called me powerful. I've been called annoying. Oh yes. Mr. Annoying. I had that down to an art. But powerful? Preventing a war? Two days ago I was trying to see how I can get Ganon Godfrey to jack me off using voodoo dolls without being caught by Mr. Aniston during morning meditations. I wasn't exactly the picture of responsibility here.

But fuck it.

It was probably more fun then being locked in a tower.

"I'm in."

~

Being excused from class is great. We didn't get days off at the witch doctors. Even the vampires got weekends off. The werewolves didn't even have a school to attend. Witches no. Education was everything. I'm not even sure what to do with myself when Mason asks me to meet him at the edge of town. I bring a book bag and stuff it with as many blank dolls as I possibly can.

I come to an inn, when I see this guy standing out there. He's handsome as all shit. My dick jumps a little bit when I see him hoping this guy is a member of Mason's team.

"Puck?" he asks.

He's a sacrifice user. He has on all red and a knife at his waist. He's just fucking cute. My type. A little shorter than me. He has on all black but I can sort of see his figure, including his fat ass when he turns around. Then he has that sort of slight lisp that lets you know he might be gay but he's not too feminine which I also like. Only a gay guy can pick out pants that fit that nice.

"I'm whatever you want me to be little daddy," I respond, "Pi, Puck, Husband, boo...whatever you need me to be."

He looks at me like I have two heads. He's not having it.

"Jesus," he states, "Seriously? Where the hell are you from with that horrible pick up line."

"I'm from Korea. An orphanage. Are you from an orphanage too, because I would love to give you my kids."

He gives me a hard look at that moment but then laughs. I get a laugh out of him. That's the beginning. He looks over at me and smiles.

"When you're done joking, you can come inside. You're already late," the fine boy tells me.

"Sure, big booties, first," I state, holding the door for him and watching him with damn near drool coming out of mouth as he walks into the inn.

The inn isn't exactly what I'm expecting. Hell. I'm thinking if we are going to look for a king then we should be getting some kingly quarters. That's not the case. It looks like everyone is so damn serious getting ready. There is this handsome looking movie star boy next door looking guy that is standing up
bove everyone else. He's sharpening his knife. Clearly he's a sacrifice users. I'm glad when I see two witches who aren't. They are both girls. One is looking down and the other one is a real pretty looking girl.

I go to the shy one. I figure she'll be the easiest to talk to.

"Hey, how you doing?" I ask.

She gives me a look as though she has the magical ability to kill someone with a stare. She has on all white which are Divination colors so I know that isn't the case. Still I get the clue and walk off a little bit moving down the line.

"Yeah, don't bother. Morgan isn't really friendly," the girl states, "I'm Circe."

All black. I recognize it immediately.

"Castor."

She pulls out her wand and shows it to me. Castors were natural witches. They
use natural magic. I don't know how useful a rain shower would be in finding King Genesis but the magic always looked cool when they used their little sticks to cast them in the courtyard outside the twoers. I'm pretty sure I'd seen this girl Circe before.

She seems like a responsible chick. Maybe she's in her 20s or so. She has red hair and red lipstick. She just looks like the typical witch. The kind of girl that you aren't surprised when she tells you she can burn some shit up by saying a word.

"Top of my class," she responds, "I'm sure you might be top of yours too. Mason says he needs the best."

If by top of class she meant most likely to end up in Eden jail for manipulating multiple people to streak in front of the Blood Palace then maybe she was right.

"Where is Mason?"

"He's getting our horses together. We're going outside of the city with the fucking wolves," Circe tells me.

"Sounds fun," I lie shaking my head, "Hey Circe. Whose that guy?"

The guy who I'm talking about was the guy who I had met at the door. He's standing up next to the boring looking guy. They seem to be arguing about something but it's one of those whisper arguments where you don't want anyone to hear what you're talking about because it'll probably embarrass your ass.

"His name is MIckson. He's Ambaassador Micko's little brother. Mason's brother-in-law."

"He's fine. I'm going to flirt with him."

"Wait...wait!"

I don't let the girl stop me. I had my eyes set on a goal and that goal was Micko. As I approach I see the boy next door looking motherfucker eyeing me down. A normal guy would be distracted by it. A normal guy would probably back down. Not Puck. I walk right up to Mickson and I stare him up and down getting a real clear look at that fat ass of his and his beautiful looking eyes.

Circe comes over. I can tell she is trying to warn me about something but I'm already here. I'm already 100 percent in. There's no stopping this bus now that I got started.

"So I wanted to apologize for what I said earlier," I tell Mickson at that moment, "I know that wasn't the best thing to say talking about how nice your ass looks or what not?"

The boy next door looks at Mickson.

"Who the hell is this guy?" the boy next door asks.

I reach out and shake his hand, "Hi, I'm Puck. I just wanted to come over and properly reintroduce myself to Mickson before we got married."

MIckson looks speechless. He doesn't know how to respond. He just looks at me and sort of smiles again before saying, "Actually Puck, this is Whyte...my lover."

Fuck. I should have known.

"I'm sorry I just thought I could rearrange the alphabet."

"What?"

"Figured I could put an X in front of this guy," I state, before looking at Mickson, "And put my D in U."

Just at that moment MIckson's boyfriend comes at me. He grabs me tossing me to the ground and punching me as hard as he can. I hit back, grabbing a piece of hair out of his head. As soon as I can I'm taking out my doll. The boy is taking out his knife There is a race. Whyte struggling to do some sort of sacrifice and me managing to get the hand on my doll.

I beat him to the punch.

I straighten up the doll.

He stands at attention.

He's mine.

I throw the doll across the room and Whyte's body goes flying with just as much ease as the rag doll. He slams into the wall.

MIckson looks over at me, "What the hell are you doing?"

"Like I said. Trying to rearrange the alphabet!"

We are interrupted at that moment. Whyte has gotten up and he's looking like he's about to cast some sort of crazy spell when Mason arrives in the inn. Mason grabs the knife away from Whyte and walks into the center of the room.

"Enough!" Mason argues loud as possible, "I'm not sure what the fuck is going on in here but I don't care. The four of you are supposed to be the best of the best. Right now King Genesis is missing and we owe it to Eden to get the king back to the Blood Palace in one piece."

"I apologize. I want nothing more than to make sure Genesis is safe," Whyte states.

"Wow..." Mickson states.

"I meant," Whyte starts off correcting himself as quickly as possible, "Him being king and all."

He looks like he slips up with something. Mickson storms off like he's upset about something. I want to follow him but I'm not really sure it's appropriate.

Mason looks at the rest of us, "The rest of you get some rest. Tomorrow we'll be heading out into the garden for the rescue mission."

I look over at the rest of them. Whyte walks past me bumping me on the way out. The white witch who was real anti-social just grunts a little bit shakes her head and heads up to her room. Mason walks past me running his hands through my hair as he does it.

"That was smooth," Circe tells me.

I know she's making fun of how I approached Mickson. Truth is I didn't give a damn. I was just blunt. Always have been. Always will be. Mickson was something that I wanted. And I wasn't going to rest until I figured out just how to get it.

~

We wake up way too goddam early. The red sky is over us. One thing I miss about the human world is the use of cars. I didn't get why the eternal city was so against modernizing. Here we are on goddam horses like we are in a cowboy movie looking for our lost cattle. The only thing nice about it is I get a real nice view of Mickson's ass.

"He went this way," I hear Morgan state.

The white witch is anti-social but she's definitely the one who is clear on our tail when we get moving.

Mason is on the horse next to me. White has gone up ahead with the white witch. Mickson and Circe are riding right ahead of us. I can see how Circe continues to look around on the horse. I think she's not comfortable. She must have heard the stories we all heard. This was wolf country. The wolves were everywhere.

"How does Morgan do that?" I ask.

"Retrocognition," Mason explains, "She's a white witch but she can see events of the past instead of the future. Particularly footsteps. She can see where someone has walked before."

"That sounds lame."

If Genesis had come out of Eden then it was plain sense that he would take the brick road outside of Eden. Everywhere else was forest. The fact that this girl Morgan is like some sort of hunting dog at the front of the path just seems stupid. This all seems a bit stupid really.

Here is am on a horse with witches. It's hot in the woods and we are dressed to the nines in our witch gear including colorful robes which just calls out what sort of magic we study. I feel like the gay love child of Harry Potter and a Power ranger.

Mason is a lot better on the horse than I am. He's also a lot more calm when he gives me a smile, "You think?"

"Don't the wolves act like the king's guards? Aren't they good at tracking? Why didn't they go find him?" I ask.

"The palace guards left yesterday to search or the king. But we are witches. We can't trust the wolves."

"But you think you can trust me?" I ask laughing a little bit, "Just because I'm a witch. No offense but you sound dumb, Mr. Mason. This is the city of monsters. People need to stop being so goddam trusting."

Mason laughs, "You have a point. You don't hold any punches huh?"

"Life's too short," I explain.

"You remind me of my son," Mason responds, "His name was Innocent. I never had a good relationship with him. I always knew he was...special though. Maybe that's what scared me."

"What happened to him?"

"He's gone," Mason explains.

"Gone."

"It's a long story," Mason responds to me seeming to be down about something, "I was a little too concerned about Genesis."

"You and the King?"

I could see that. A guy like Mason had that leader look to him. He looked like he would date a king. He looked like he would be a king in another life.

"At one point. I've looked for him everywhere. No sign of him. It's like he vanished off the face of the world."

"Sorry to hear that."

Mason shakes his head, "I'll see him again. But that may be the issue. I'm scared when I see him again it won't be under a good situation. Dark times are coming Puck. We have to be prepared. There is darkness coming."

"That kind of darkness?" I ask.

There is someone standing at the fork in the road.

Mason shakes his head, "No. That's my husband."

Just at that moment I recognize who it is. Everyone knew who it was. That was Ambassador Micko. He was the middle man between the King and the witches. King Genesis gave his orders to the Ambassador and it was up to him to enforce the laws. Many of times I'd seen him having meetings with the Headmistress about some important mojo or another. They always looked entirely too serious.

You would think it was the darkness Mason is talking about by how he looks at Micko. I was well aware they were married. Their gay relationship was famous among the witches, even witches like me who lived on the other side of the human world.

"Turn back," MIcko states, "The search for the king is official business."

Mason looks back at us.

"I'll deal with my husband. You all go wait."

I'm beyond confused at that moment when Mason goes forward to have a talk with Micko. We are all waiting clearly annoyed that we were coming all this way to be sent back. What the fuck was going on? Why the fuck didn't they want us going after Genesis ourselves?

"It's personal," Mickson states, "My brother is worried that his husband still loves Genesis."

He comes up to me with his horse and tires to explain this out of no where. Looking at Mickson and Ambassador Micko I could definitely see a resemblance. I was still all for Mickson but Micko was definitely attractive in his own way. I watch how Mason grabs him up trying to shake the wall that Micko has up. It's clear this is definitely a lover's quarrel no matter how the Ambassador wanted to rephrase this.

"Is he still in love with him?" I ask.

Mickson shakes his head, "Everyone's in love with King Genesis."

With that he turns to Whyte.

"I'm not clairvoyant but your boyfriend definitely seems excited to find Genesis."

He'd been ahead of the pack the entire time. Even now Whyte seems desperate to keep this caravan moving and find the King. I can also read Mickson's body language. I have a feeling he wasn't the only brother who felt some type of way about their boyfriend going to find the king.

"It doesn't matter," Mickson states, "This is bigger than what Whyte feels about Genesis."

"So why stay with him?"

"A part of me thinks King Genesis has all these men under a spell," MIckson tells me, "I want to feel bad for them. Every day though I'm realizing that might not be the case. Maybe they just want to fuck him that bad."

"If I was Whyte, I'd realize that I already had a king."

Mickson laughs.

He's all smiles.

"You got game huh, Puck?"

"Oh I'm just now getting started," I promise him, "Truth is I'm confused. Didn't think you were interested in talking to me."

"Didn't know a talisman witch doctor could manhandle someone from my coven like you did Whyte," Mickson explains.

"Manhandle?"

The voice interrupts us. I turn and notice Whyte has gotten off his horse. I was so dazzled by the conversation with Mickson that I didn't realize his jealous boyfriend walking up to us. Whyte has this look in his eyes. He's clearly jealous.

"Whyte, can you calm down and stop being so dramatic?" Mickson asks.

"Is this payback or something?" Whyte asks him, "You so upset that I cared about Genesis back in the day that you are entertaining this clown."

"Who you calling a clown?" I ask.

Mickson gives me a look, "Don't...please..."

I respect Mickson's decision. This Whyte guy clearly had some insecurities. From what I knew King Genesis was sharing the throne with a werewolf. I wonder if he was feeling all this anger because he had been turned down or something.

Whyte looks over at Mickson.

"When we find Genesis... me and you need to have a serious talk about where this relationship is going?" Whyte asks.

I'm shocked Whyte is so in his feelings that he's arguing like this in front of me. He's clearly gone off the reservation and I want nothing more than to intervene for Mickson. It's clear Whyte feels some type of way because we are talking.

"So after all these years you are going to break up with me? And what?" Mickson asks Whyte, "Run off with Genesis? Live happily ever after? News flash Whyte. He doesn't want you. He never fucking did. So let me save you the trouble of breaking up with me and end this right now."

Whyte all of a sudden seems to come to his senses.

"You're breaking up with me?"

"Yes. It's long over due but it's happening," Mickson states.

Whyte is shaking with anger, "I never said I was going to leave you for Genesis. I was just saying. I was just thinking that...I...was..."

He's tripping over his words. Clearly we all heard him threaten Mickson. He probably just didn't think Mickson was man enough to leave him. I have to admit I was impressed. Mickson wasn't some victim after all letting some guy treat him any type of way.

"Listen. Go fuck Genesis. Go see how serious he takes you. But I can guarantee you this Whyte. You lost a good dude. We were best friends at a time. We did everything together. You lost that bond because you want to chase someone who is powerful or sexy. See how far that gets you. I hope in the end you're happy."

Whyte doesn't seem to look so happy right now.

He seems to immediately be in panic mode.

I guess he always thought he had a back up plan in Micko. Only now his backup plan was moving on."

"What do you mean you won't be here?" Whyte asks, "You going to be with this...with this fucking boy who plays with dolls? Is that it?"

Whyte is looking at me. He's so angry.

"I might. I might not," MIckson tells Whyte, "It's not about him. It's not about you. It's about me. I deserve better. So bye Whyte."

Mickson turns at that moment.

I start following him.

"You think I'll let you be happy without me?" Whyte asks.

"You don't' have a choice," Mickson calls back.

"We'll see about that."

I'm not sure how I miss the knife in his hand. But I see White all of a sudden cut himself. White cuts himself and I hear Circe scream. He's warning me about something but I'm not sure what it is. I turn and see Whyte chanting at that moment. I see Mickson. He's reaching out to me.

I am being surrounded all of a sudden. Spirits. Visible spirits. I had known the Red Witches to cast spells summoning witches but they were all around. I can feel them around me and it feels like so can my horse.

All of a sudden my horse is spooked!

The animal talks off with me on his back! Mickson and the others attempt to chase me down but they don't get far.

My horse runs deep into the forest. Nothing can stop it! Nothing can slow it down!

And before I know it I'm falling off the horse deep in the forest, hitting my head under the trees and passing out.

~

I wake up at that moment. My head is aching. I'm bleeding.

"Mickson?"

There is no answer. The trees have engulfed me where I'm at. It's never pitch black in Eden but the trees are so thick here that it seems as though it's the middle of the night. I look up and I swear I'm getting dizzy. I'm pissed. I can't believe Whyte was such a bitch to attack me when I clearly wasn't defending myself.

He was nothing more than a coward, but right now I couldn't worry about Whyte. Right now I had to worry about this eerie sound in the distance.

There are figures there.

Ghostly figures.

They come toward me. I see two boys and a girl. I'm not sure who they are but they are staring at me.

"Who are you?"

I don't believe in evil. At least I thought I didn't. I had always been misunderstood. I had always been a trickster, a comedian and a clown, even if I didn't like that Whyte called me one. I was never evil though. Playing tricks wasn't evil. I used to think evil didn't exist until I lay eyes on the faces of these three people.

They were all grown. They were all young however and something in their faces just spoke evil. The dark eyes that didn't have a soul behind them. The darkness that surrounded them. I knew hell existed when I looked at their eyes.

Evil was real.

I knew now that these were demons.

The ghostly figure looks at the other ghostly figure, "He's seen us. What should we do."

"Kill him," one of the boys says.

The boy walks over to me. I think at first he's a vampire when I see fangs but I see a shadow behind him. The weight of something so much bigger than just a vampire. This was something darker. This was something horrible. Yes. Demons. That's what these things were approaching me. I had never been so silent in my life. I had never been so afraid. I had no dolls to protect me. I couldn't run. My feet were like concrete.

Was it magic? Was it fear?

I wasn't sure.

I was nothing more than a victim when the figure finally descends on me. It's inches away from killing me and ending my life.
