I've also recently started a Yahoo Group, with all sorts of stuff about I'm Not Dead. You can find it at: http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/im_not_dead/ Hopefully see you there :D Chapter 7 I awoke moments before Ian did. The main reason being his morning glory poking me in the face. Hmmm, I think as I wipe the sleep gently from my eyes, breakfast! I dive down onto his cock, taking the shaft deep into my throat. It's the sudden changing in penile climate that wakes Ian I believe. He groans happily whilst looking at me. I bob up and down hungrily, he folds his arms behind his head and grins. There is no better way to be woken up than with a blow job. In fact no better way to wake up than have a throbbing cock demanding to be sucked. After I have completed my service as a dutiful boyfriend I throw on some jeans and go to make tea and breakfast whilst Ian gets himself sorted. Moments later he was joining me around the kitchen table drinking tea and eating toast and peanut butter. The best thing about this relationship I decide as I'm tucking in is that we both like peanut butter. There could however be a downside to this less peanut butter. I'm amazed to see the time is 7am, I don't think I've been up this early in ages. Ian tell's me he has to leave for work soon. "I was thinking... whilst mum's away, why don't you bring some clothes over... then you can spend more time here... with me" I say as tactful as possible. Ian just smiles at me as he sips his tea, "I think that's a great idea he says with a smile" He takes a final bite out of his toast and downs his tea, "Right I best get off, need to get a change of uniform. I'll come over tomorrow with some stuff" he says standing up. He walks over to me and kisses me on the forehead. I smile happily. "See you later babe" I say as he disappears out of the kitchen and the house. I turn and stare out the window. 7am... wow everything looks so fresh at this time in the morning. I make another up of tea and open the patio doors and stare out at the garden. It's coming to harvest time, all the plants are bearing their crop heavily. I get a strong burst of pride viewing it all. My first year as a gardener, my first year away from the tyranny of that bastard place and I have this... a steaming cup of tea, a garden even the most seasoned gardener would be proud of, a great boyfriend and my best friend living up stairs with me. I thank whoever is listening. For the next few hours I check up on my emails. I decide I should contact Mrs Wrinklethought about these five phases of infection. I might as well arm myself with as much as knowledge I can about these Gifters. At about 10am Carol emerges along with Izzy. I've set up a small dining area for the cat near the door. Water bowl, food bowl set on some newspaper. I've even put a small vase with a plastic flower in by her food bowl. I'm half expecting Carol laugh then complain about the chill she will get from the door when eating. My retort will be the bitch is fat and if the cold puts her off her food then its all for the better. I don't hate the cat, the cat just annoys me it plays Carol off for a fool. She plonks down in a chair and growls at Izzy as the cat begs for food. She produces a packet of cat food from her dressing gown packet. "Want to do the honours" she growls passing me the packet, "Squeeze it before you put it into the dish she wont eat it otherwise" I accept the proffered pack of cat food and do as instructed as the kettle boils and clicks off. After washing my hands of the hideous stench of cat food I make us both a cup and tea and sit opposite Carol. I smile warmly at her looking out at the garden. I like this vista I always get a great comfort from seeing what I have done and what I am going to do. "So... what do you do for fun around here?" Carol asks eventually. "Ian" "Oh Alex!" She declares in mock disgust before turning in her seat and crossing her legs in a pose she hopes is ladylike. "Garden, drink, eat, shit, that's about it I'm afraid. We could go look at the Alpaca's if you want" "What are they?" "They're like surfer Llama's. They got a big puff of curly hair on their head they're quite cute really. Or we can... go to Chester for a bit. I usually potter on around the house, entertain myself I'm not used to being a host any more" I laugh. Carol looks at me a moment and smiles warmly. "It's suits you living like this doesn't it" she says. I nod and look back out at the garden. "For as long as it can last" I say with a slight ominous tone, "things are going to get worse, and as of yet I can't figure out when" Carol sips her tea. "You really can see the future now can't you" She says slowly as if its finally confirmed in her mind, "what does it feel like?" "Like hell" I solemnly note, "sometimes it comes to me like a dream, they're not so bad. Others times... their like a thousand ideas and images appear inside my head at once, its like a terrible headache but it fades quickly. Then sometimes I just know things, I know their not my thoughts their like clouds of ideas inside my head their fuzzy and not clear but I know what they are... difficult to explain I guess" "I cant begin to imagine, what does your mum say about all this?" She asks sparking up her morning cigarette. "Doesn't know yet... but can I tell you something a bit strange. I have a weird feeling about that place. I can't put my finger on it yet but there's something very odd there" "It's essentially an asylum hun, of course its going to be strange in there" she exhales a huge plume of smoke billows through the air. I sigh slightly, it's not an asylum I tell myself, its not an asylum! "You want something to eat, I should be able to rustle something up for you" I suggest, Izzy is munching like a wild animal. "Nah thank's don't eat normally before noon, bad I know but work and all that" I nod knowing full well what happens to the body clock with unusual work patterns. "I think I would like to see these surfer Llamas though" She comments, "after I get dressed of course" I agree and decide its time to get the cleaning in the kitchen done whilst Carol gets ready. I'm pretty sure Izzy is purposefully getting in the way of the mop just to annoy me. After I finally succeed in mopping the kitchen after cursing the cat so many times it would make a witch feel outdone Carol emerges showered, dressed and ready for the whirlwind adventure that is Afondiwedd. It's a quaint old town, and the inhabitants are fiercely proud of it. The population is quite small as I've said before, but at some point in history one of the kings granted the place a royal charter. A writ that declared all men within the town as free men and not serfs. It also declared the place a town, capable of holding its own markets and have its own guilds. So even though most villages have a higher population than Afondiwedd, it's still classed as a town. We leave the house, and turn right up the road. Before us is the beating heart of the town, the town square, which in my opinion is more of a round. At it's heart is a huge old oak tree. A plaque adorns a raised plinth before the tree, it reads: This plaque was presented to the town to the Town of Afondiwedd to commemorate the year 2000. By the towns mayor, Mr Jack John Jones at the towns Millennium Festival here at the town square, We wandered a little more around the town square, I pointed out the vets a little way down another street, the off licence on the corner, and finally the butchers shop. This butchers is one of the best apparently, reviewed by such connoisseurs as the Dragon, and the Afondiwedd Chronicle, a local newsletter. Carol is amazed by all the welsh signs and posters in the windows. "We do have printing presses!" I say mockingly. Shaking her head we enter the butchers, "bore da Mr Perry" I say, my welsh is not extensive but it always helps to try. Mr Perry is a typical butcher. Middle aged, dark haired with flecks of grey. His face is soft and round but his eyes dark and like bullets. "I'm just showing my friend around she's visiting from Newcastle" "Ah" Mr Perry declares his thick welsh accent prevalent. "Bloody terrible what they did up there. I'm glad you could come ere' instead. Mr Moon looking after you is he, he's a good lad" I smile. I've only met the butcher a few times. I normally only come to the butcher's if their hiding from my mum when she comes. There had been a number of incidents where they would see the Dragon coming across the town square and Mr Perry or his wife or even sometimes both would duck behind the counters and wait for her to give up and go away, and giving up doesn't come naturally to my mother. Mr Perry is arranging some freshly cut lamb chops in his display. "How's your mother Mr Moon?" "She's well thank you" I respond "I heard what happened, terrible thing it is depression. I hope they're treating her right down that facility place" "You heard about that?" I ask surprised. When I think about it I'm not actually that surprised I had told James & co and there's no telling who over heard me. "Oh yes, my wife, Gwynedd, her brothers wife's sister was visiting her son in hospital when she saw your mother being taken in" He said. Typical I thought, eyes everywhere, "So who did it do you know?" "Who... well herself... Mr Perry my mother tried to commit suicide" I said a little abruptly. "Oh my... I'm so sorry, had I know... we all assumed she got hit by a car. Been a lot of that around lately. If I had known I would not have asked" He looked very nervous for a moment, "I never thought for an instant, your mother would... be so desperate she seems like such a strong woman!" "Non of us understand it Mr Perry, that's why she's where she is to... help her" The uncertainty in my voice surprised everyone including me. Mr Perry forces a smile. "Well I'll tell you what, because your mother is such a good customer of ours you can have these burgers" He picks out two thick juicy burgers from his counter and wraps them up. I recognise them as his award winning burgers, the pride of Afondiwedd. "You can have these burgers on me" "Thank you Mr Perry, but you needn't" I reply shocked, welsh generosity is rare. "Oh no I insist" He says popping the burgers into a carrier bag for me, a cheeky grin crosses his wide face "To be honest, your mother scares the crap out of me I wouldn't want her coming home and seeing we haven't been taking care of you" both Carol and laugh and I accept the offered bag. "Hywl Mr Perry" I say as I leave the shop. "Cymer ofal" Outside I walk Carol up the street from the butchers towards the old church. "He was nice" "Yes, but you have to watch them. They're like vampires once you let them in you can't get rid of them" I laugh. Carol looks blankly at me. I quickly explain the old superstition about vampires. We turn the corner to face the squat old church. It's hundreds of years old and was built shortly after Afondiwedd was given its Charter. It has the typical wide base, low arched roof and small rounded topped windows. Surrounding the church was a small graveyard and the occasional yew tree typical of welsh graveyards. "Oh it's lovely" Carol comments with a smile. "Yeah god's house surrounded by death" I laugh, Carol giggles slightly. Alongside the church is a paddock and there sat in the middle stood three alpaca's grazing, I point them out to Carol. "Oh my god, your right, little surfer Llama's" She laughs, the description is quite accurate. "Strange animals, they only poo and piss in one in one spot you know. There's quite a few in Wales now, farmers are turning to rearing them rather than sheep. Their fleece is worth a small fortune in the wool trade" I inform, using my vast sponge like memory once more. "Wow, so these belong to the church?" "No the owners rent the paddock. If you look closely you'll see one is slightly small than the others, he was born a few years ago my mum was saying. Their was a competition held in the town to name him. He's called Afon, which means river in welsh" "How cool! I'm going to get a picture, damn I left my phone at the house!" Carol declares, I intermediately hunt out my mobile. I notice the screen is flashing, I've got an email. "Two seconds Carol" I tell her as I quickly open it up and scan it: Hello Alex, I was so pleased to receive your email, I was expecting it. I will be visiting you shortly to explain the five phases in greater detail. I hope you are well. Speak soon. Regards Mrs Wrinklethought. "What!" I declare, she's going to visit me, how does she even have my address, and how dare she just invite herself down. "What is it?" Carol asks face plastered in concern. "Oh... nothing... nothing yet at least. I'm expecting a visitor it would seem" Carol frowns, she knows my feelings on people just calling round and dropping in. I hate being unprepared, I get this from mum, always wanting to be the perfect host, "best order some food then" I start tapping away on my mobile. It's one of the old types, an early Graphene phone. It's a cool design and a tad heavy. Its about the size of my palm, square with a black frame. In the centre on one side is small dial in which the digital camera components sit. The main body of the phone is pretty much see through, and works like a touch screen. It's no where near as modern as the new holo phones, which look more like watches. They're worn on the underside of the wrist They project images, buttons and messages into your palm for you to read. You interact with them by pressing your hand and the device reads the nerve signals. It's very clever but totally ridiculous in my mind. My brother bought one the moment they came out. I open up the browser on my phone and wait for the annoying adverts to go away I quickly place my saved order with the supermarket and click send. In a day I will be completely restocked. I turn back to Carol force a smile, Mrs Wrinklethought has annoyed me a little. How dare she just invite herself. If I said I wanted to see her I would have done. Point the camera at the alpacas and take a photo and email to Carol. "There, done. Come on lets take tea in the garden" I state putting on a mock English accent. "Oh lets" she replies mimicking me. I offer her my arm she giggles and we walk back to the house arm in arm. "All I need now is a parasol" she laughs. "And I a cane!" We laugh and joke all the way back to the house. Once home, I lock Izzy in the living room to prevent any escape attempt. I dig out my vintage glass teapot and put a very full kettle on to boil. Carol is outside battling with great gusto with the garden furniture. I laugh as it all collapses on her. I put down the now laden tray of tea, biscuits, and go outside to help her. With a great air of confidence and humming a pleasant tune I take over the situation. Within the seconds I do what Carol had spent ten minutes trying to achieve. She growls at me, as I offer her a seat. I return to the kitchen and pick up the tray. "Hello again Alex" I scream and drop the tray, my precious teapot bouncing and smashing against the slate tiles of the kitchen floor, "Oh I'm sorry didnt mean to shock you" I turn around furious. There sat nonchalantly at the kitchen table is Mrs Wrinklethought. But it wasn't Mrs Wrinklethought at the same time. The only way I can describe it is she's a ghost. She's not a physical entity. I can see through her. "WHAT THE FUCK" I declare angrily. A huge pool of tea is gathering around my feet. Biscuits are rolling away from me. "WHAT THE FUCK!" I repeat. "Now calm down Alex" She says with a grin, "I was right I've hit phase five. This is my new... ability... astral projection" "For fuck sake" I kneel down and begin clearing up the mess. Carol appears at the patio doors. "What happened" she asks, I look angrily at Mrs Wrinklethought, and point. "That stupid bitch" I declare. Carol looks blankly at the seat. "She can't see me only you can" Mrs Wrinklethought says. "Then let her see you" I demand as I'm placing the remains of my teapot on the tray and gathering up the escaped biscuits. "I can't only those with the Gifters can see me" "Alex what's going on" Carol asks looking very worried. "You can't see her, its that woman I saw in York, she's astral projecting. Only I can see her" I look at Carol and she looks very confused. I glare at Mrs Wrinklethought, "Thanks, now your making my friends think I'm going insane!" "Your not I assure you" She responds looking dejected, "is this how you treat all your guests? Your being very rude!" Snorting I mumble some curse words under my breath. "Carol I'm sorry I'll pop the kettle back on and bring you out some tea in a minute I need to... talk to this... idiot!" I say. Carol nods looking very scared. She heads back outside to the table and chairs I had just erected. I dig out the mop from its cupboard and begin mopping up the mess. Izzy is meowing like crazy from the living room. "Cat's can sense me" Mrs Wrinklethought explains, "and I'd appreciate you don't call me an idiot again!" "Then don't sneak up on me. Or at least wait until I'm not carrying anything. Your buying me a new teapot. That was a classic" I growl as I finish mopping up. I drain out the tea out into the sink and sit opposite Mrs Wrinklethought, "Explain, go on, that's what your here for, explain to me these phases" Mrs Wrinklethought leans back in the chair. She looks dejected. "Dont think I want to now" "Then go!" "OK, OK your angry, I'll replace the sodding teapot" "Damn right you will" "As I said at our meeting there are five stages to the Gifter's infection" She begins, "the first stage is what your going through now. The visions aren't clear and they hurt like hell, usually in the form of a headache, but there have been cases where it feels like your skin is burning, or your body goes numb, it depends on where the infection is dominant. This phase lasts a number of years, in that time the visions will become less painful. Phase two is when you don't suffer during a vision, and the accuracy and clarity improves dramatically. A common side affect during this time is a general lack of control of the emotion... something you most definitely will suffer from judging by your rage right now" She smiles at me. "This stage lasts a couple of months usually no more than a year. Phase three... is more interesting, its when we begin to gain more control over our ability and the effects on our emotions diminish. During Phase three we can start to focus our foresight, usually on to a particular object or sense. For example the most common is touch. By this I mean by touching something or someone you can see it's or their future. This is one of the longest Phases, it can take a decade or twenty years until this ability is truly honed. Do you understand so far?" "Yes" I spit. "Still angry I see. Yep phase three is going to be very interesting for you. Now phase four" she crosses her legs, "is when it starts to get interesting. By this point I believe the Gifter's have totally integrated themselves with our bodies, we develop other simpler abilities, like telepathy, or a simple telekinesis. Like so" she looks at my kettle and it starts to rise off its platform. I frown if she breaks that as well I will kill her. It plops down a little clumsily back on the platform. "see, but I'm far better at it in person. Phase four can be difficult for some. There can be... unusual developments. However their easily controlled. Phase Five is complete integration, the potential is there for any number of abilities, astral projection, EMP's, Aura control, mind control. The possibilities are endless, however they are dependant on how responsive the host, yourself and I for example respond to the Gifters" "What's an EMP?" "Electro magnetic pulse. Human bodies work... basically at any given moment... our bodies are like circuit boards lots of information travelling from one part to another. This is either managed through hormones and chemicals that travel through the blood, or via tiny electronic signals that travel through our bodies. During Phase five some hosts electronic signals increase dramatically and they can project those signals, kind of like a lightening bolt, it's main use can disrupt or destroy electronics. An aura push is similar, one can physically push away objects or persons using our aura" she makes the bunny rabbit ears motion beside her translucent head as she says Aura. I nod slowly. "The human aura, is a field of... erm, energy that surrounds us, those with powerful aura's have developed... methods of using it, either by guiding it in a particular direction like a punch or as a general outward push that knocks anything around it over. My research shows these abilities are very rare, and in my opinion unnecessary. Hopefully as time goes by I will understand more about these more extreme powers" "So I'm in stage one?" "Yes. It will be a number of years until the infection takes a dominant hold on you and then you will enter phase two, the adolescent stage as I like to term it, you may find you will become unpredictable. You yourself wont be able to control the mood swings, but I've found some mood stabilizing drugs work best. But you are a way off that point so far" I nod slowly. "My research is ever continuing Alex. I will update you when I find out more" She presses her hand against her forehead as if checking her own temperature, "Wow" She mumbles, "this really takes it out of you! I will have to go Alex. You haven't taken your tea out to your friend either. You are very rude" I growl at her as I go to the kettle to start making another pot of tea, "Good bye" and she vanishes. Mutter beneath my breath in case she's still around. I try to calm down as best I can before I go to join Carol armed with my secondary pot of tea and some biscuits. I sit down and sigh heavily. Carol looks at me and cocks her head. "What's astral projection?" She asks whilst she pours the tea. I inhale slowly and breath out heavily. "From what I gather she can project an image of herself and interact with other people with the Gifters. Only others with the infection can see her. This is all so fucked up" About us the birds twittered and chirped, at the very end of the garden a rather determined ginger cat is stalking something through a privet hedge. "I see..." she states with a dubious look on her face, "what did she want to talk to you about?" I embark on the lengthy explanation of the phases. Carol nods slowly as I complete each phase. I'm suddenly very weary. "You look tired" she adds at the end of my monologue. "Just shook up. I'll be OK. You know what we should have a barbecue this weekend. I'll go and see Mr Perry tomorrow see what he can sort out for us. We need a distraction" "That's an excellent idea. Will Ian be off work as well?" "What day is it now?" "Tuesday" "Yeah he will" I grin, looking a little bit more like the lunatic I feel, "Friday he's off till Monday so he's off the whole weekend!" "If the weather holds out we could go to the beach!" I laugh, its now coming to middle September. If the weather holds out any further it deserves a medal. Global warming has made our summers really hot and our winters ridiculously cold. I find that my mood has changed hugely, a small party and the thought of Ian has brought a smile back to my face. Carol and I remain in the garden for the rest of the afternoon, chatting aimlessly about the good times and the bad. It's strange but here in this little sunny garden the events of the outside world didn't seem to matter or happen. The following few days rolled by, they were uneventful apart from the occasional screams from Caz at the cat. Ian hadn't visited me since I asked him if he wanted to bring some clothes over. I was worried that I might have scared him off but he had responded to my text message and he was coming to the party, so was James & co, and my dad, Wendy and the rest of the family. The only person in my little world I hadn't invited was Charlie my brother and his harpy of a girlfriend, and Cale of course, but he was still in York. Cale was worrying me a little. To be fair a day hasn't gone by for five years without me worrying about Cale at least once. I still found it odd that he suddenly wanted to get out at York, but then that was his home now and was I being selfish? Probably. But Wales in my opinion was far safer than York, and this is where he should be. Carol agrees after an hour long rant by me. To be fair she had no choice on the matter. Cale confused her, she liked him, he liked her, but his social inability in her mind made him a little... strange. "He just doesn't know how to speak to people" She would say. "He looks at like he doesn't need to say anything superfluous" I'd respond "He barely says hello!" "But he never says good bye either!" When Friday comes round I'm busy in the shed trying to dig out my barbecue from behind a chest of draws mum insisted on not throwing away. Naturally the only other option would be to put it in the shed. Where it rots. Slowly. And gets in the way of the barbecue. "God Damn it!" I declare with a frustrated growl. I hear a chuckle behind me. I turn expecting to see another ghostly apparition of Mrs Wrinklethought, but all rage and fear dissipates when I see the smiling handsome face of my boyfriend stood leaning on the door frame of the shed. "Need a hand?" He offers cheekily. "Come here! I grab his chequered shirt and pull him into a kiss. My hands quickly cup his sexy bubble butt and grip firmly. Ian moans into my mouth. "I've missed you" he whispers as his hands run up my body pausing briefly to tweak my nipples. I grin ludicrously as I pop a boner almost immediately. I push it against his legs. "Honestly you have no idea!" he continues. One of his hands is now pressing the bulge in my pants. Mischievously he mutters "what's this?". "Something that's missed you" I mutter back between brief kisses. Kneeling down onto the shed floor Ian begins to undo my belt and fly exposing my raging hard on contained inside my black boxer briefs. My dick is desperate for attention, it shows this by a small blob of pre cum soaking the black fabric. I grin as Ian's tongue licks at it. "Tasty" He murmurs before licking my whole length once more. Gripping the elasticated waistband he exposes my prick to the air, and swallows me in one go. The heat of his mouth and saliva was exhilarating as he bobbed up and down. My balls now hanging needed playing with and just as if he had read my mind Ian began to gently kneed them in his palm. I was in heaven, but I knew it wasnt going to be enough. After three days abstinence I wanted him. I needed his dick in me. Now. I thrust my cock deep into his throat as I growled. "I want you". Releasing my member from his mouth he stood and kissed me I could taste the saltiness of my precum. He gripped my body and turned me around, pressing me against the potting bench. I heard him as he began to unbuckle his belt and pull down his jeans. Then him spitting into his hand and wiping it across his dick. I relished the sensation of his dick head pressing against my hole and I tried to relax as much as possible as he invaded me. I felt wonderfully full, like I was finally complete as he slowly pressed deeper into me. Eventually his probing helmet found my prostrate and I groaned with deep satisfaction. My dick throbbed aggressively. With a quiet grunt he pushed in deeper. "Oh god yes" I groaned as he began his slowly removal, and just before he popped free he pushed once more. His rhythm was tantalizingly slow. And I savoured every careful penetration. Eventually I couldn't take any more of the pace and begged him to go faster. But he maintained his slow pace. "Not yet baby" He whispered into my ear seductively. I pushed against his groin as another deep probe reached my prostrate. I was groaning now with heavy lust. He withdrew again and then pounded into me. The force taking me by surprise and I loose my balance a little and bash into the potting shed. I loved it. He now began a full assault on my arse. Long, fast, hard stabs into, whilst he gripped the globes of my buttocks firmly. "Yes" I gasped over and over, as his pace increased. One of his hands pushed on my shoulder pinning me to the table ramming me harder and harder. I reach to my desperately aching dick. But he bats my hand away. "No, not yet" he growls, "I'm gonna fuck you good first" With wild abandon he pounds into me. The terracotta pots clinking together like bells celebrating the occasion. "Your so tight" He comments as he withdraws and pushes back in. "Just fuck me" I snap, and he continues his raid. Clinging onto my hips as if his life counted on it. In and out he went, harder and harder. Then he stopped, turned me back round, picked me and sat me on potting table. Some of my old pots go clattering to the floor as he pushes me onto my back and pulling me back onto his dick. I love watching him as he fucks me. The determined expression on his face, the distant shadow of wild primal need hiding in his stunning eyes. His long black curls as they dance about his face. "Alex wheres the..." I hear Carol ask as she appears at the shed door, "OH MY..." She tries to step back and trips over her own feet and cannonballs into the hedge row. I can hear her swear as she tries to fight free from the foliage and through the little window I catch a glimpse of her running through the garden back to the house shouting, "MY EYES!" repeatedly. We don't stop our fucking, but Ian pins me to the table with his gaze. "You... think... she... saw... us" He says between gasps and thrusts. "I... think... so... yes" I respond through grunts of pleasure. "But... don't... stop" I keep trying to grab hold of my angrily throbbing dick but Ian won't let me, but deep down inside me I can feel the tingle begin to rise. My head begins to cloud as the orgasm is imminent. Ian's assault doesn't wane. The pace is fast and hard, we're both groaning in unison. I can feel his dick swell with each plunge. He's close and so am I. Something about this, this union here now after what started to feel like an age despite only being a few days. "Fuck me. Fuck me!" I crow, I know this turns him on now, and sure enough moments later as I repeat the demand his eyes glaze and his thrust lessen as I feel his cum paint my insides. Despite the lack of wanking or even touching myself in anyway my own dick starts to spurt and thick streams of white cum sprays over my shirt. Normally I would be a little angry at this but not today. He collapses onto me and kisses me passionately, pressing his body against mine. Transferring the cum from my shirt to his. After we've caught our breath and disentangle from our embrace I laugh at the silvery stains that adorn both our clothing. "Good job I brought some spare clothes isn't it!" He whispers to me. I smile. He did bring some stuff after all. I quickly glance out the little shed window, some of my clothes are still drying on the line. I hop off the table and pull my pants up and peel my sweaty shirt off. "Mmmm, sexy" Ian says as his eyes explore my naked abdomen hungrily. "Behave, we've now got to go and apologise to Carol!" Ian chuckles as I exit the shed and he follows I take down a dry shirt and slip it on, chucking one of my T-Shirts at him. "Put this on, she'll only freak out more!" Ian does as instructed and I gather the rest of the washing up, making sure our soiled clothes are separated. As I enter the kitchen I see carol sat at the table, Izzy sat on her lap, sipping a large glass of what looks like whisky. "Sorry Carol" I say sheepishly. She grumbles something in mock reprieve. "I don't think I can look at you two in the same way again" She says eventually as I pop our dirty shirts into the washing machine. "Weren't you wearing a different... I don't want to know, Carol! You don't want to know!" "It's only sex" I say, "Yeah its only natural" Ian adds. "Your talking to a veritable nun!" Carol declares, she takes another sip of whisky, "Nice arse though Ian" she adds with a grin, "I hope you wont be doing that later, or is that your new party piece?" "No, no I don't Ryan and Franco would understand" I laugh, "What was it you were looking for?" "Ironically" She waves her glass at me, "more glasses" I laugh, "and did you get the barbecue in the end" "Erm, no" "Shall I try and find it or is it unsafe to enter at this moment" "I'll get it" I reply. "So unsafe" She laughs, well Ian your staying here, I need you to help me with the... meat. You seem good at that" She grins. An hour later I've finally freed the barbecue and got it set up. However I am under strict instructions not to light it. That is and always will be Carol's domain. Cooking al fresco is one of Carol's favourite pass times and she has it to a fine art. Instead we swap our tasks, I continue preparing the food and she the pyromaniac. Carol has spent the last our preparing her usual menu, red onion and haloumi skewers, marinated steaks and huge curls of sausages Mr Perry supplied us with. I begin preparing the tomato and feta cheese parcels I am so fond of and cheese and chilli melts. Ian is busying himself with the drinks. Naturally taste testing them as he goes. His main cocktail being Sangria a blend of red wine lemonade, brandy, apples, oranges and lemons. He looks like he's making a vat of the stuff. We also have copious amounts of gin and tonic, lagers from around the world and vodka and a small bottle of my favourite drink. Bohemian Absinthe. It's preparation is an art in its own right and usually my party trick. After a short stay in Prague and spending most of my weekend break in one of the amazing absinthe cafés they have I perfected the knack as it were. It was nearly six o'clock the time everyone was told to arrive. Naturally knowing my friends and family I didn't expect them till at least seven. Carol, Ian and I were sat round my garden table sampling the lovingly prepared sangria when James arrived, shortly followed by Rachel, Becky, Stuart and Brian. They arrive baring bountiful gifts, predominantly of the alcoholic variety, but there is some food, in the shape of a marrow... what am I going to do with that I wonder as I place the obscene thing in the vege bowl. I introduce Carol whilst Ian fetches drinks. Becky instantly following him around like some sick puppy. She quite openly admits to having a huge crush on him and I find it quite funny really. I instruct them all to keep things a little toned down tonight because my step brothers coming. Then panic hit. Ian had used all the lemonade in the sangria. "Arse" I declare, and I explain the situation. Ryan and Franco are naturally under-age but they are also incredibly hyperactive on fizzy drinks, which was all I had left now. It was a strict rule in their house, no cola, no fizzy lemonade just natural juices. It prevents them, especially Ryan from "climbing up the walls" as Wendy puts it. I quickly type out a text message to my dad but I get no answer. "Alex honestly calm down it's fine I'll ask Lee to pick some up on his way over he's at work till six, so said he would be here around seven that should be OK shouldn't it?" "Erm yeah, course yeah brilliant" I had completely forgotten about Lee, but then it's not like I could have said to James don't bring Lee, I fucked him that night a month back and he's a little weird about it could I! Could I? "No don't be stupid Alex" I say to myself as I hear someone knocking at the door. It was my dad and family. I greet them warmly, Izzy immediately at the door investigating the new arrivals. She seemed disappointed to find it was people she had already met. She been positively ecstatic when James and that lot had arrived, and now she's in a sulk because everyone's gone outside, where she cant go. She slinks back off to my mums bedroom. With this being my mums house, my dad and wendy had never been inside the house before, well except the other day when my dad dropped me off after we got back from Newcastle. Wendy commented on how nice it was, and it was actually I had repainted all the rooms when Carol brought me here. Together mum and I had turned the little cottage from something that looked like a pine mill had thrown up in it, into a modern but cosy affair sympathetic to nearly 200 year old building. I lead them through the house to my pride and joy, the garden. Wendy is quite suddenly taken aback by the bountiful vege patch and blooming boarders. "Oh Alex, you've done a wonderful job here!" She declares, as she explores the garden, "you know I doubted you would be this successful but it sure is impressive!" I smile as my dad follows us around, afterwards I introduce Wendy with James and everyone. "James... James... not James Portstone, son of Jane?" Wendy says, James nods, "I used to live on the farm to up from you, how is your is your mum?" Wendy asks. In Wendy's previous marriage she had lived and worked locally to Afondiwedd on quite a large and successful farm. In fact just before my mum bought this place, my dad and Wendy were considering moving into the town. When I broke the news to them that mum was moving here they quickly changed their minds. "She's good, remarried now to Mr Price the florist over in Diddbach" Wendy smiles nodding. The one thing about North Wales, everyone talks, everyone knows everyone and it can be a right bastard sometimes, and Wendy knows most due to her work. "Well I never!" Wendy declared. After that conversation flowed easily between everyone. Carol took up her station at the barbecue after nearly fighting my dad off it. My dad is old school, he believes that at any barbecue he should be in charge of the fire. However he relents after Wendy intervenes. We bring out some of Mr Perry's award winning burgers and throw them on the grill, they sizzle delightfully. I notice Ian is deeply engrossed in a conversation with the twins probably about some computer game or something. My dad is discussing with James about the stone masonry business and Wendy is deep in conversation with the girls. It's all coming together really nicely. Carol smiles at me. "We're doing well" She says. Carol like me prides herself on being a good host, and we love it when a plan comes together. After an hour or so food is well under way and the booze is gradually being depleted. I note my dad sneaking Ryan and Franco shandies when Wendy isn't looking. "Carol" I whisper to her as we're both watching some tomato and feta parcels sizzle away, "Where's dad and Wendy going to sleep! We dont have the space and their both drinking!" "Ah... yeah... they can have your mums bed and I'll sleep in the living room with the twins" "You sure?" A thought crosses my mind is it total betrayal if my dad and his wife sleep in my mums bed? They're already in her house I suppose. "Yeah sure what's one night on a sofa going to do to me!" I nod. I'll make one slight change to that idea dad and Wendy are having my bed Ian and I will stay in mums. I return to the kitchen to retrieve another tray of food prepared for the barbecue. As I stand in the kitchen trying decide what of the feast we have prepared next I hear someone knocking at the door. I look at the clock its half past seven. Lee. It had to be Lee. Wow had we left him outside for thirty minutes. I got to the door, glancing out the window as I pass and I can confirm it is Lee. Now I would be lying if I said I didn't get a flutter of lust. The guy is attractive. He has a simple raw sexuality. Similar to Ian's but also different. Fundamentally Lee was my past, Ian even if it sounds crazy is my future. I love Ian I know that. I've told him so. He's everything I've ever wanted, he's uncomplicated, friendly, charming, a real guy and a great fuck. Lee, well Lee is Lee, a very vivid memory for me. A crucial moment in my childhood. I swing the door open and can instantly tell there's something wrong. He stinks of alcohol. In fact he's barely vertical, but he has that amazing drunken ability of somehow defying gravity. "Hello Alex" He slurs, he leans forward to kiss me and I manage to step out the way just in time, but I also catch him before he face plants the rough stone work of the fireplace. I can feel the heat of his body, he looks me in the eye albeit he couldn't focus. "Alright!" He says as he tries to push himself off me. "Lee, what's up" I ask. He looks at me angrily. His green eyes sparkling, "as if you don't know!" I look blankly at him holding him awkwardly in my arms. He had that horrible dead weight the kind that's really awkward to manoeuvre. I'm used to this of course thanks to my training in work, but still a careful move of a knee here, and a slight change of pressure there still leaves you as prone as before. Lee makes no effort to move. I don't know what to do. I decide lets get the cartons of juice out of his hands first. Careful with my left hand I tease his fingers open and slip the bag down quietly to the floor. Christ now what am I going to do. I could easily drag him but well... where would I take him. I try to get him up stairs, he can sleep it off. I'm struggling to get Lee up the stairs when Carol enters the living room. "What the hell?" She asks eyeing me curiously with the prone figure in my arms. "Help me get up stairs and I'll explain" Dutifully she grabs his ankle and helps me carry him up the stairs and we dump him on my mums bed. Carol looks at me quizzically. "I slept with him. Years ago, and the day before I met Ian. He's dating Rachel outside... he's not very happy about stuff" "No shit" Carol states looking at the now unconscious Lee. "You get about a bit don't you!" she adds. "Carol!" "Sorry" she smirks, "well we better let the poor girl know he's here at least" "We have to handle this delicately. No one round here knows... about... us" I point at Lee and myself. Carol nods. "I'll leave it to you then" I nod. I realise its a bit much expecting Carol to sort this out she barely knowns either of them. I shrug just another drama to sort out! Carol and I return to the garden, bearing another tray of food and another jug of Ian's sangria. Carol returns to the barbecue at the end of the garden where she had left my dad in charge. With as much tact I extract Rachel from the crowd and explain in whispers the state Lee has arrived in. "WHAT!" She screams angrily. Everyone's conversation stops dead and all heads turn to us. She storms into the house and up the stairs. James makes a beeline through the crowds to me. "What's going on dude?" He asks quietly. "Lee's turned up blind pissed he's passed out upstairs" I tell him, hell they might as well all know. "Oh fuck... this is bad!" I look at James, his responding glimpse is a mix of things, "Rachel is pregnant" I look blankly at him. His face doesn't change, but it tells me enough. What the hell have I done. Damn me and my dick. I let James chase after Rachel whilst I go up to Carol and Ian stood at the barbecue. My dad and Wendy ask if everything's all right but I fob them off with a rushed "fine". This is enough to prompt Wendy to enter the house. Carol gives me a knowing look. Damn women and their intrinsic perception of an event. She immediately leaves me alone with Ian. I'm suddenly very nervous. "There's a bit of a problem!" I say slowly, "Lee's arrived and he's pissed out of his mind" "You want me to have a look at him" "Erm... no that's not it... Rachel, his girlfriend is pregnant, and Lee and I... we have a history... quite a recent history in fact" Ian's face suddenly changes from the gentle concerned expression to one of instant anger. "You what?!" He demands his voice low but the growl of anger is distinct. "Not that recent, it was before I met you... a week or so in fact" I look at him, suddenly very offended, "you think I would cheat on you?" I demand. He shakes his head. "Of course not, but... what's... oh" I see the penny drop. "He was with Rachel when it happened wasn't he" "Yes" "Right" I cant read Ian's face. It worries me, I grab his hand, "and you think its alright to do something like that?" he asks suddenly serious. "No, no of course not, it was a stupid moment, its... a long story he hadn't seen each other in years" "So you thought: I know lets fuck!" Ian spits "No, not at all, it kind of happened, he instigated it... I know, I know that's not an excuse. But he was my first, you know I lost my virginity to him when I was a kid, and it was... anyway that's not the point" "Why are you telling me this? You want me to clean up your mess?" He demands his voice still hushed. Those left in the garden are looking at me and Ian. I feel their eyes burning into me. "Not at all. No not at all! I just wanted to tell you. In case things got out of hand!" "I can't believe this Alex! I thought you were better than this!" "We all make mistakes" I plead quietly "Oh we do do we, and what other mistakes have you made Alex, me?" "No! no not at all! don't be fucking daft!" "Alex!" Carol calls from the patio doors, she's waving me over. I look at Ian and he just gestures indifference. As I walk back to the kitchen, I reflect on Ian's attitude. I thought he would be a bit more... I don't know. There's a different side to everyone I suppose. This time, I think, this time I might just have fucked things up. I swallow the fear that instantly balls in my throat. Carol looks at me when I get into the kitchen. I can hear shouting up stairs, and Wendy's slow calm talk trying to disarm the situation. "It's not good" she says as I walk through the living room. There's a distinct change in me with each pace. I walk into my mum's bedroom, Lee's sat on the edge of the bed. Rachel is sat on one of my mums priceless vintage art deco chairs, legs crossed defiantly her face like thunder. "You did this!" she screams at me. "Now Rachel, please shouting isn't going to solve anything" Wendy intones. "Just shut the fuck up you meddling cow!" Rachel bellows, "it's his fault!" she points an accusatory finger at me. I walk past Wendy apologising in a calm but determined manner. "What's the matter Rachel?" I ask, my voice monotone and unemotional. My eyes fixed on hers unwaveringly. "You fucked my boyfriend!" I didn't flinch or move my face as still as rock. "That might be so but what has that got to do with this?" I ask gesturing to the pair of them. "He doesn't fucking love me! He says he doesn't want our baby. He says it's your fault because you tricked him and fucked him" I raise an eyebrow slowly. My lips pursed. "I did no such thing!" "YES YOU DID" Lee bellows slurring as he stands. He's swaying on his feet, "you brough' me here and you... you raped me you bastard you raped me!" "I did not" I can feel it boiling inside. The wild fury I kept bottled up, the anger the bitterness of all life's disappointments. I could feel it sledge hammering it's way through my emotional barricades. Lee fixes me a drunken stare, its a mix of drunkenness, confusion, embarrassment and hate. He slowly walks towards me swaying as he approaches. My body tensed, I loved this guy once I try to remind myself. "Yes you did" he intones, his tone vile and bitter, "you raped me because you are" he points his finger at my chests and pushes it into my shoulder forcing me back a few inches with his jab, "nothing but a dirty... fucking... faggot" each word is punctuated with a sharp prod to my shoulder. In the corner of my eye I see James approach from a corner of the room. "You hear me" Lee states, "a dirty... fucking... puff" he prods me again in the shoulder on the shoulder once more, harder than either of the other times. Behind me I hear Ian and my dad entering the doorway but it's too late. Any chance to calm me now is gone. No one, absolutely no one ever calls me a faggot. I grab his prodding finger and snap it back breaking it. He screams. Gripping his wrist with my other hand I twist it, forcing him to the ground. He looks up at me with drunken fury and pain in his eyes. I introduce my right knee to his face with sudden force. Blood bursts from his nose. He screams again. Rachel leaps to her feet and runs at me. James grabs her before she gets to me. "You fucking puff!" Lee spits through blood whilst writhing in agony on the floor. I am shaking. I can feel all the hairs begin to rise on the back of my neck. Something isn't right. My whole body is tense. I can feel a rage flood through my body like a wave of fierce heat. "Get him out of my house" I intone, my voice falling like slabs of ice. No one moves. "Get. Him. Out. Now" I can feel it crackling across my skin. What the fuck is this. It's surging through me. "Get him out NOW!" I shout every second I'm growing more anxious and scared. Something is very wrong. The picture frames on the wall begin to rattle against the wall. The one light bulb that's on in the room begins to flicker. "NOW!" I bellow. The light bulb explodes. I don't know what I'm fighting but I know I'm loosing. The air grows dry and cold. My breath mists before me. Other bigger pieces of furniture begin to rattle and bang. A window pane cracks. Ian and my dad appear beside me picking Lee up and carrying him out of the room. Wendy and James escort Rachel out of the room hurriedly. Rachel's eyes fixed on me in rage and fear. I cant contain it any more. Raising my hands up, bolts of blue energy jump from finger to finger. My whole body is shaking uncontrollably, beads of sweat are pouring down my face. I can't fight it much longer. "Alex?" Carol standing behind me places a gentle hand on my shoulder. That one friendly gesture broke it. The last of my control died, the energy surged out from me. Carol is sent hurtling back across the room with the force and smacks the back of her head on the door frame and falls to the floor unconscious. My mums TV falls to the floor shattering the screen, books and pictures fly off the walls and shelves. The small chest of draws falls forward. The occasional flicker of blue energy jumps from my fingers to some metal here and there. I gradually gain control of my limbs and I slowly turn. I rush as best I can, a little disorientated, to Carol prone on the floor. A small pool of blood grows beneath her head. "IAN!" I bellow my voice cracking with fear and panic, tears pouring down my face, "IAN!".
