Chapter 3: New Friends

Hunger was setting in. Ari was famished. He couldn't help but laugh at the obvious ironic scenario being playing before him. His stomach growled, and all he could do was laugh. He felt pitiful, but he knew that if the sirens were going off, then someone would free him soon enough. Either side had something to gain by investing in him.

His sleek torso rose up and down as he flexed his arms, gripping the steel bars above him. "Might as well do something while waiting." was the only thought to enter Ari's head. He pulled his entire mass with all his strength; finally he was rewarded with his chest being above the bar. Sweat poured down his forehead and a putrid stink rose from his arm pits. Ari's stomach continued to rebel against his own efforts.

Ari lifted up his shirt, exposing his slightly tanned, slightly muscled stomach. He rubbed one of his hands across the smooth, hairless surface. "Shhh... Just a little longer." he spoke out loud, trying to sooth his hunger. "Shhh... just wait a little longer." The thought of him going hungry was still hilarious to him. Ari's big, luscious lips were stretched into a huge grin. His facial hair itched from the stretch of muscle, but it was worth it. The irony was just too funny to miss.

_

The more the Master looked at the footage, the angrier he got. It was a minor setback to have three of his weapons running around his base, but four? The biggest annoyance was that two of his personal favorites were out of their cages. The Master picked up the phone from its cradle in security room B, he dialed a number only known to him.

"I want the Manipulator in room B. NOW!" his tone was that of pure anger. It slipped off his tongue as he informed the other line. He listened for a few seconds at the woman on the other line make a stupid excuse as to why she couldn't send the operative. "Send him or you're entire family will feel your mistake!" The phone was slammed down on the receiver.

_

Each soldier was begging for their life as they marched down the halls. Xy heard it as music to his ears. He was all grins as he skipped in circles, twirling and whirling about. His dancing sometimes led him to bump into an innocent soldier under his control which meant instant death to that individual. This was not overlooked by the scared men Xy forced to march along with him. With every death that Xy caused from his dancing, the soldiers began a fresh screaming session full of crying. Even their Gods were thrown into their begging and pleading.

Drew walked in front of Xy. He was slightly amused with the boy's antics, but disturbed beyond words. Drew was deeply religious. He felt that every man and woman deserved a chance at life. If they asked for forgiveness, they should be given the chance to have it. He had a lot of time to ponder over life in his room. Drew wasn't happy with how these men treated him, but he wasn't about to punish them for it. All Drew wanted was peace. He wanted a world full of acceptance, a world where no matter who you are you were treated equally. He was planning on confronting Xy about his actions later.

Drew just walked ahead of the marching soldiers. If any guards or soldiers shot at him, a slight circle of Earth was formed right where the bullet would have hit on his body. Drew thought it was more logical to be the "better person." Their time was short anyways; he was going to let them live those few short seconds longer before Xy dealt with them.

"Xy! Drew!" Kevin yelled from the back of the precession. "Please make your way here. You'll want to meet our guests!"

_

Tim was thrilled when he saw Kevin at the end of the hallway. Of course Kevin by now had burned almost all of his clothing off, revealing how much muscle he had. Tim was used to seeing Kevin with little to no clothing on, the electricity ended up eating away at the fragile material within minutes. The man had pale skin, but it looked darker when liquid plasma oozed off of its surface. Tim always marveled at how flawless and perfect looking Kevin's flesh was. He actually wished he had skin like that.

Kevin was a perfect statue, an Adonis. His rippling muscles were frozen in time, in the exact movement they were taking. His arms were both extended from either side of his body; white hot currents of electricity encircled both arms.

When Tim, Sara, and General West reached the frozen Kevin, Tim took a finger to the man's statuesque bare chest and ran it down to his bare neither regions. Tim thought about how Kevin would react to his feeling about him, and then brushed it off; now wasn't the time. The whole affair was missed by the General. Sara, of course, was not paying attention.

"Time is of the essence." Sara repeated again, giving Tim the signal to bring time back up to speed.

Tim's eyes, again, turned from their rich black, to a soft white shade with a small black pupil. General West was surprised as to how fast it took for time to return to a normal state. Right before him, one second his soldiers were completely still, and then the next they were marching forward, screaming and pleading for mercy.

"Kevin?" Tim didn't know how to get the man's attention. "We need to talk." Kevin looked around him, letting the electricity around him melt into nothing. Finally, Kevin turned around and spotted the three companions.

"Tim? Sara? Where did you come from?" Kevin was happy; he knew he was owed an explanation. "And who is this?"

"The Blue haired Demon, The Elemental;

The army of the dead follows in their wake.

The Ears are open, but the Master cannot hear." Sara looked at Kevin as she spoke. She pointed to the army of soldiers marching in front of them.

"It's good to see you too Sara." Kevin smiled at the girl. Then he faced the soldiers and yelled as loud as he could. "Xy! Drew! Please make your way here. You'll want to meet our guests!" Tim looked awestruck, his jaw was basically hitting the ground.

"How the hell did you understand that gibberish? I've been walking around with her for hours, and I still have no clue what she's saying!" Tim was on his last nerve. But Kevin just smiled at him and bowed his head.

"It's easy. I just know women better then you." Kevin then reached out and patted Tim on the shoulder.

The soldiers moved around a bit, making it so a path was cleared down the middle of their ranks. Two figures were moving from the front of the soldiers to the back where Sara, Kevin, General West and Tim were gathered. The first down the path was skipping happily. His short blue hair bounced with each tiny hop; a full toothed smile was evident on his face. The second one down walked fairly briskly. His dark red faux hawk looked almost as sharp as a blade; he was not smiling, but his body language told the onlookers that he was pleased.

"Xy, Drew. We need to have a private conversation away from prying ears." Kevin quickly told the two boys before they could ask questions about their summoning to the back of the line. "Is this man to join us?" Kevin looked at General West as he asked.

"Yes" Tim responded. He still wasn't fully trusting of the General yet, but Sara was confident.

"Then, Tim, you know what to do." Kevin looked into Tim's eyes as they started to change from their white, to a full jet black. The change was instant. All sound, all movement stopped. The soldiers' cries and the alarm blares stopped abruptly. The only movement came from the allowed six people present. "Now please answer what I asked before. Where did you come from? And who is this?" Kevin looked at Tim expecting an answer. He knew Sara wouldn't supply him with one. Tim sighed and decided to tell them as much as he knew.

"I escaped from Dr. Richards' testing. That is why the alarms are going off." Tim's eyes started to water as he began his story. "I found Sara and rescued her. She told me she knew I was coming. Then she told me this prophesy..."

"We must act now. The call is being placed. We must not tarry. We are expected.

Time is of the essence.

You and I, me and you are to remain as six.

The West is to be seven.

Five is the number that will strive.

The rest shall perish.

From the ashes they shall rise.

One by one they will join us: We are Interweapon."

"If we do not make haste soon, none shall thrive.

All will perish in the pits of despair.

Time is of the essence.

The shadow does not watch the army of the dead.

Walk the path of darkness.

You know the answer.

"When the puppet is a man;

The Octopus,

The Elemental,

The Blue Haired Devil,

The Horseman of Famine,

The Clock Keeper,

The Gypsy,

The Maiden of Death:

They shall rise as a free people. The puppet shall no longer be ignored.

He shall be the keeper for man's destiny."

Sara's eyes glowed brightly; they were two beacons of unearthly light, followed by an unearthly voice that emanated from her petite frail body. She interrupted Tim's explanation with a full prediction of the bits and pieces of what she said before. "Oh, hello!" her normal soft, almost whisper of a voice returned. "How did I get here?" Everyone looked at her in confusion.

"I take it that you have been wandering around with her when she has been in her precognitive state, right?" Kevin smiled gently while nudging Tim's chin with his fist. "This explains a lot. First, how you found us, and second, how you, Sara, don't know where you are. Did she drag you out here?" Tim nodded in fascination. How did this guy know what happened?

"Let me get this straight. I've been leading Tim around this building unconsciously?" Tim nodded, awestruck. Sara gave the biggest smile ever. "Way cool!"

"I'm really confused. Why did you take me with you Sara?" General West looked a little frightened.

"Who are you?" Sara looked at the man with curious eyes.

"He's mine!" Xy looked at the man with lust; his erection had barely died down throughout the day. Drew frowned at Xy.

"Sara brought him along for a reason. I'm gonna make sure you don't do anything to him I don't like." Drew glared at Xy as he spoke.

"His name is General Jonathon West. He's the Commanding Officer of this base. Apparently he knew nothing of what was happening in these walls." Tim jumped in quickly before Drew and Xy ripped each other's heads off.

"Jonny West?" Xy tilted his head to the side, while raising half his body off the ground; he ran over to the General and smelled the man's face. "He doesn't smell too good to me." Xy scrunched his nose in disgust. "Can I kill him now?" His eyes gleamed in expectance. Drew stepped forward and pushed Xy away from West, getting between the two. The commander was sweating profusely from head to toe, he wasn't sure what to expect from this kid.

"You've killed enough people today. Leave this man." Drew turned his head quickly to look at the man he was defending to see West let out a held in breath. The General quickly felt a bond with this boy who spoke for him.

"Why?" the General whispered to Drew. "You don't know me."

"You being here is enough." Drew smiled at the frightened man. "Besides, there needs to be some kind of happiness today. You did nothing wrong, punishment is only for those who are disserving." West didn't know whether to be flattered or confused by the boy in front of him.

"It's decided then, this man is to stay with us, but under Drew's watch." Kevin took the lead. He went onto the next order of business. "Now, to the premonition that Sara pronounced; Sara, you have no knowledge of what you said?"

"None." She squealed in a girlish whisper.

"So." Kevin continued as if he didn't just ask Sara a question. "What I have gathered is that we have to obtain two more members to our growing party. Then we will be able to escape this place." He made a dramatic pause for effect. "Rachel and Ari." Everyone gasped at the mention of Ari's name, everyone except General Jonathon West.

"I thought we were getting Chaz and Dakota!" Xy glared at Kevin. "Why do we have to get that fucker?"

"Because Sara told us to. Who else could be the Horseman of Famine?" Kevin asked everyone, even though he was directing his question at Xy. Xy began to pout. He hated Ari with a passion.

"So we're gonna leave everyone else to die?" Drew was concerned. He didn't hate Ari, in fact, he kind of liked him. If it wasn't for the fact that Ari was only `in it for himself,' Drew would've been friends with him.

"I think the others can handle themselves. If I know Dakota like you all do, he's probably already out of here by now with Chaz." Kevin knew it was a long shot, but Sara was never wrong. If none of them escaped, they would end up in the same boat. "Dakota probably made them into dust or something. Don't worry about them, they're safe. Now Xy, let me see the map we printed."

_

Ari was smiling to himself. He combed his fingers through his decayed, off colored hair. He was pleased with himself, even if he was starving. Lying on his soft cot, which he earned from tedious ass kissing, he thought about his life. Maybe it was time for a change. Ari knew how to set his life in a different direction. Maybe it was time for him to get out there and fight for his own life instead of the Master's.

Ari laughed a maniacal laugh. "I have decided" he spoke out loud to himself, assuring his plan. "I have more to gain out there then in here." Very slowly he lifted his hands out in front of himself and wiggled his fingers back and forth: A thick, noxious, purple cloud surrounded him. Ari stopped his finger wiggling and pointed with his fingers at the door, the cloud silently obeyed, moving underneath the door's small crack, separating it from the floor. Coughing was heard on the other side of Ari's room.

"If you want to live, I suggest you open the door." Ari yelled at the coughing men in the halls. "Necrotic lungs and pneumonia tend not to work well with one another." Ari softly giggled to himself; no matter the circumstance, these men were going to die, he couldn't cure their sickness, Ari knew it, and he thought of himself as a genius for thinking about this escape plan.

The door instantly slid open, revealing two very frightened guards. Both began to beg Ari for a cure. Ari just stood there and laughed, he knew that they were way too weak to fight him now; he didn't give them any peace of mind, either. "Give me your gun, and I'll think about it." Ari ordered the closest guard to him. The guard instantly obeyed and handed Ari his gun and back harness.

"I thank both of you for your help." Ari started to leave the room, but both guards grabbed onto his ankles and started to beg for a cure. "Didn't I say I was leaving? Now kindly release me!" Ari glared at both the guards frowning at their gesture then he aimed his newly acquired automatic weapon at their faces.

Ari took aim and shot; blood began to pool underneath the two bodies. Ari smiled once again. He always loved a good death. Ari bent down and rummaged through both the guards uniforms and found some spare ammo. Then he set off on his adventure, down the white walled hallway, toting his gun in his arms. "Who to kill next?" was the only thought coursing through his mind.

_

If there was such a time to choose being in a confined space, Rachel decided now definitely wasn't that time. The guards learned, the hard way, that they couldn't have Rachel in a room by herself without restraint. Rachel was one of the few people being held in the facility that needed to be in a full body cast of metal, in order to stop her from escaping. If she needed to use the bathroom, she had to either yell for assistance, or just do her business then and there.

Rachel could hear the sirens going off for hours, and even yelled for the guards to tell her what was happening; it seemed like she was going to be in the dark, yet again. It was annoying not being in the loop. Rachel felt like she was going crazy from the sirens, even. "What the hell is going on out there?" she screamed out more as a way to release her building anxiety than anything else. "Please just tell me!" she started to gently sob as she screamed. Her blond dirty, matted hair caught the running tears as they fell down her face. "Will anybody tell me? Does anybody know I'm in here? Please?"

_

Every one found a place within the parade. Drew marched behind everyone else, shoulder to shoulder with General Jonathon West, while Sara walked right beside Tim and Kevin. Kevin left the torturing of the scientists, guards and soldiers up to the infuriated Xy, who was again up front of the precession, like a twisted conductor to a macabre army of screaming lost souls, as he skipped and danced about.

Drew and General West talked about what was going to happen after their rag tag group escaped the military complex. West's wife and he, apparently, had been trying to have children for years, so he assumed she would allow them all to stay within their dwelling. Drew argued about the arrangement. He thought they all should, even West and possibly his wife, relocate to a safer place. In the end, after a long amount of calm arguing and urging on Drew's end, the General gave up and agreed.

Sara, Tim and Kevin were contemplating how they were going to escape, and how they were going to rescue the remaining two members to their party. Sara tried to force herself into a psychic meditation, but ended up with a splitting headache. Kevin and Tim watched as she tried, laughing to themselves, on how funny her facial expressions were.

Tim wanted to head in the direction of Rachel's room. Kevin told him numerous times previously, whenever Tim brought up his feeling about Rachel, that her room wasn't anywhere near them. Tim was not looking forward to meeting up with Ari.

Unknown to him, Kevin was unanimously voted as the leader. He was respected by everyone present, with the exception of the soldiers forced to tag along. Even General West felt safe around Kevin. The General didn't know the man that well, but he knew that Kevin wouldn't harm him. Kevin seemed to be a man of his word, and Kevin seemed to follow Sara's predictions word by word; this made West feel safer since his name was mentioned within them.

Xy was seething. He was angry at having to prepare himself to endure the company of Ari. Xy was so angry that he forgot to spare the few random soldiers in the halls as his playthings; he ended up killing all of the terrified passers bys. It made him feel a little better.

As instructed to, a boy no older than 18 walked up to security room B. He pushed on the small green button besides the door and watched as the silver, polished slab in front of him slid into the wall. Instantly, a cool breeze hit the boy in the face. It was like opening a freezer, but he was used to it.

"Ah, I see you have gotten my summons" came a voice from everywhere but yet nowhere at the same time. He could feel the voice talking from inside his head, but he could also hear it talking with his ears with an almost whisper like quality. "Tell me, what do you know about the sirens, my dear Ezra?"

The boy bowed his head and responded, "I know little to nothing. The only thing I was able to obtain is that someone escaped, my lord."

"Come closer my humble servant. You shall learn all." There was a hint of a smile within the tone of the answer. "You, my dear Ezra, have never led me astray. Firstly, who else do you think I can trust with such information?"

The boy smiled, he knew exactly who the Master of all could trust. Ezra bowed his head again. "Might I suggest the services of Zeke and Jade?"

The master smiled, he knew he could trust this boy. "Exactly my thoughts, Ezra. Exactly my thoughts. Please come in."

As Ezra was entering security room B, he saw the phone rise from its cradle and buttons being pushed. After a while the phone was set back down on the receiver. "It is done, now we wait."
