An exchange of information took place and they filled him on their plans for the Reverend. The Chief Superintendent had just arrested the Justice of the Peace for his part in issuing the illegal Warrant of Committal. The JP wasn't a church member and didn't care about religion... he just liked the money he was paid to sign some papers. The JP didn't know where the facility was located. At exactly 1:00 pm, Jesse appeared at the church administration offices dressed in the finest suit he had in his closet. The minister looked at the man with the brief case and immediately knew the suit was a tailor-made Armani. "May I help you?" the minister asked. "My name is Jesse McCoy," said Jesse as he handed a business card to the minister. "I am currently representing Mr. Ryan Jones in the divorce proceedings his wife commenced, and from what I understand, you assisted through this church." "I'm Reverend Danku, the minister of the church. We help all kinds of people with legal services if they need it." "I've been practicing law many years Reverend, and never before have had I heard of a church being involved in a divorce case, but that will be discussed in court. I'm here to find out about Ryan's son." "I'm afraid I can't comment on him. He's an adult and if he doesn't want contact with his father, that's his choice." "That would be true but the committal papers were for a treatment program, and you gave a copy to Ryan when you met with him. I need to know where he is being treated so we may contact him." "I'm afraid I can't say where that is." The minister had a smirk on his face for just a brief moment before it disappeared. "How can a low paid army guy like him afford a lawyer? Especially one who obviously charges a lot of money." "He served in the army with my cousin, and she asked for my help." "I had heard he was in hospital after trying to kill himself." Again, the minister smirked briefly. "I'm still investigating, but he was out the next day and healthy as a horse. You must have heard wrong," replied Jesse with a smirk of his own. That news caught the minister off guard. "Really? That wasn't what I had heard from a nur..." "Who was this nurse you speak of?" "I didn't say that," replied the minister a little rattled. "I guess the investigation team will find that out. So where is Ryan's son being held?" "He's at a treatment centre." "If it is a treatment centre duly licensed by the Department of Health, I would be able to see him for an interview. It is a legal and licensed treatment facility, isn't it?" "Mr. McCoy, I think it is time for you to leave this building. I do not have to speak with you and you have worn out your welcome." "Reverend Danku, I have to admit this is the first time I've ever been thrown out of a church office by a minister. I thought this was a place of spiritualism, truth and love." "Mr. McCoy, you are representing the husband one of my church members is divorcing. He is not a member here, neither are you." "I have to have a membership to come to church here? You mean like a country club?" "You're putting words in my mouth." Jesse smiled at him, "I don't have to put words into your mouth. You're doing a great job of it yourself. So this man was a member of your church as long as he was with his wife, but you have excommunicated him as soon as you helped her to start her divorce proceedings. Is that correct?" "I don't want to answer that." "This is so unusual, Reverend. Do you have a romantic interest in her?" "I'm not answering that either." "Reverend, by not denying it, you gave me the answer. One last time Reverend, where is the treatment center please?" "Leave now before I call the police." "Reverend, if you look out your front window, they are already here in case I had a problem with you." That statement shook the minister up as he darted to look out the window. He was shocked to see two police cars out in front of the church, with two police officers standing together and leaning against the fender of the first car, looking in the direction of the office. "So Reverend, I've managed to confirm the treatment center is unlicensed and probably not staffed by medical people or using standard treatments for anything. Would you say that was correct?" "I didn't say that; you're putting words in my mouth again." "Reverend, you need to know what a person doesn't say is just as important what they do say. You didn't say a lot, but your answers spoke loudly. I have an investigation started into your swearing the mental health warrant as well. Everything about this entire problem has a familiar odour about it." Jesse looked at the man and interpreted his body language. Suddenly, Jesse figured it out and quickly formulated the way to ask it. "You do have an interest in Mrs. Jones, don't you Reverend Danku?" The man turned red before he said, "It's time for you to leave, now. Any further questions will be addressed to my lawyer." "Reverend Danku, I can and I will be back to speak with you. Unlike other people you may deal with, you don't scare or intimidate me." "Get out, now." "Reverend, I'm leaving but reflect upon this 'Proverbs Chapter 6: These six [things] doth the LORD hate: yea, seven [are] an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness [that] speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.'" "You know the bible?" "Obviously more than you Reverend, because that verse made it very clear what God hates, and no where in the original translations did he say anything about a gay man like Ryan's son. Only in the modern translations which are self-serving does it begin." "I'm not debating the bible with someone like you, get out." Jesse turned and reached for the door. As he opened it, Jesse turned to the minister and said, "If Ryan's son is in my office by the end of the day, we will move on and probably never see each other again. If he is not in my office by the end of the workday, you are going to have major problems, Reverend. Problems of a magnitude which you and the church you are a part of will have never seen before." "Don't make threats. I have no fear of you." "That is no threat, Reverend; consider it a promise which I will enjoy working to painstakingly fulfill. Have a good day, and I truly pray you will afford yourself the correct decision to have Ryan's son in my office by 5:00 today." "Get out," he yelled. The Reverend became even madder when Jesse smiled at him as he left. Jesse stood on the front step of the building for a moment, and subtly gave a signal to Josh and Tyler he was leaving and they were no longer needed. The two of them got into their vehicles and departed. Jesse left the parking lot as well, and headed to the Chinese restaurant everyone was meeting at. Even the Chief Superintendent was there to coordinate everything when the police were needed. While en route, he contacted Jared and Liam by phone and brought them up to date on the discussion he had with the minister. It was 2:00pm when Liam walked into the church office, wearing the tightest clothing he could find at the apartment. The moment Liam spoke, his well-practiced lisp projected the image he wanted quite well. "I'm looking for the minister here. I understand he is the one who had Jebidiah sent away to some church concentration camp," said Liam. The secretary at the front desk was horrified by not only what she saw, but by what she heard. "Minister Danku is busy at the moment, maybe you could come back later." "I'll wait right here for him," replied Liam as he sat down. "He will be tied up for quite a while; you can come back another day. It would be better," she replied. "Its fine honey, I'll wait for a little while. I'm also expecting some other people to drop in shortly to meet me here." "What do you mean 'other people?'" she asked with concern. Liam just sat and smiled at her with the cheesiest smile he could muster and replied, "Just wait and find out." The woman was now having feelings of panic and dread at the same time as she stood to run to the back of the building and tell the minister. Liam was sitting patiently when a few minutes later, Reverend Danku came into the waiting room. "You were looking for me?" "Are you the minister?" "Yes, I'm Reverend Danku. What do you want?" "Little abrupt for a man of God," said Liam. "I was sent by Mr. McCoy and I'm here with a vehicle in case you didn't have one for Jeb Jones so he could be at the office by 5:00 pm as required." The minister shook his head at the audacity of this man, or more accurately this thing sitting in his building. "I have no clue what you are talking about." "Well, the rest should be here shortly and you think about changing your answer by the time they get here." Reverend Danku's head snapped, "What do you mean the rest?" "It could mean anything from a couple more of my friends to a few busloads of people to protest in front of your church along with reporters." The minister stopped in his tracks. "What the hell do you mean, you little faggot?" "There is no reason to be insulting or calling me names. After all, although I have been very tempted to call you names, I haven't." Liam fluttered his eyebrows at the man, which pushed him the direction he had hoped. The minister saw blood red fury after the little pansy had flirted with him. He knew his anger was out of control worse than he could ever remember, and he was going to hit this little faggot just like he had slapped so many of the others around. Liam just sat there and smiled. He could sense the raw emotion building in the man... it was almost time to act. The minister slapped his hands on the counter hard enough it sounded like the wood cracked. Liam smiled again, "Last chance. 5:00 pm is approaching quickly Reverend, and your last chance before things get really out of hand." The minister was absolutely livid. This little fruitcake was sitting quite comfortably on the chair and not showing any fear whatsoever. This guy must be the dumbest little shit on the face of the earth to not have any fear. He was shocked even further when the fruitcake stood up with his hands held crossed on his chest over his heart. The minister was about to physically throw him out of the building when the little bastards body began to glow white. He raised his hand to shelter his eyes as the white light became blinding. A moment later, the light began to dim, and standing there was the little faggot who had transformed into an angel who looked like he had walked right out of the bible. The robe, the garland, the wings and gold belt were all there with the harp. "W-w-w-what are you?" the minister asked finally. "You have until 5:00 pm to do the right thing Albert, that is your name, isn't it? It's alright for me to call you Albert, isn't it? I will not even dignify you with Reverend because you are not acting the way the Creator intended. Things are going to change, and if you do not believe me, just wait until 1 minute past 5:00 pm today if Jeb is not at Mr. McCoy's office." Liam willed the intensity of his light to increase, and he morphed into an orb. The orb hung for a moment to give Albert a good look at it, and out through the wall. Jared was parked around the corner in their SUV waiting, and the orb travelled to the passenger side of the vehicle. The orb moved forward but bounced off the passenger window. It moved backwards and hit the window again harder, and it bounced off yet again. This time the orb moved back some distance, and took a long run at the window with some speed. Just before it impacted the glass, Jared lowered the window. The orb entered the SUV, and went straight through and to the outside again as Jared had lowered the driver's side window as well. Jared was having trouble breathing from laughing so hard. The orb came into the vehicle slowly and settled into the passenger seat. Liam morphed from the orb. "You bastard," said Liam with his arms crossed and sporting a fake pout. Jared was still short of breath from laughing so hard but he turned to face Liam who was now having trouble keeping a straight face himself. Finally he lost in laughter as well. "You got me good that time Jared, but I still love you." "I put a protection on the window so you couldn't transition the glass." "Damn it, I'll have to remember that one." Jared reached over and took his soulmate's hand into his and brought it to his mouth to gently kiss it. Liam hugged him tightly before they shared a sensual, lingering kiss. When they separated, Jared said, "It went well in there, eh?" "You should have seen the look on his face when I morphed into an angel." "Liam, you are an angel in my eyes, and you never have to morph." Liam smiled and gave his fiancé a long, simmering kiss. ******************************* The reverend was still standing there when the secretary walked back into the office. "Where's your visitor?" asked the lady. The minister didn't reply, but stood with his glaze fixated on the spot where the man had changed into an angel. "Reverend?" she asked again. He still didn't move so she moved forward, slowly and leaned around into his field of vision. "Reverend Dhanku?" Finally his eyes moved towards her. "Did you see what I saw?" "No Reverend. You were alone when I came in. What did you see?" "I don't know if I saw it or day dreamed it. I must have day dreamed it, but the visitor changed into an angel, and then into an orb and flew through the window." The church secretary froze upon hearing what had been said. "You saw what?" "I was day dreaming, I must have been. It was nothing." The minister gathered himself up and quickly into his office. Two hours later at 4:00 pm, yet another visitor came into the church office. Adam stood at the front counter and asked if the minister was available. The church receptionist had never seen so many unknown people visiting the church in such a short time period before. She stepped into the minister's office and told him he had yet another person to see him. He glanced at the clock on the wall quickly before rising from behind the desk. He moved through the doorway into the office quickly, observing another unknown young man standing there. "What do you want?" the minister said quickly. This outburst surprised the secretary and it showed on her face. "Reverend Danku?" asked Adam. "Yes, yes, yes," he replied impatiently. Adam smiled at the man's reaction to his presence. "I'm here to suggest to you we have vehicles available to pick Jeb up if he is here before 5:00 pm. They will also go anywhere to pick him up and you don't need to go yourself." The minister started moving aggressively towards the young man, he quickly noticed the previously brown eyes of the young man turn bright white. "Be careful Reverend, some people are in a position to look after themselves in many ways more than what you would expect." He stopped his movement. "What are you?" "With your narrow views on life and what is right or wrong, you wouldn't understand." The secretary was watching the interchange with interest. Never before had she seen or heard anyone ever speak to the reverend like this in her presence. She was beginning to suspect something unusual was going on here not only with the visitors, but with something the minister was involved in. "I don't need a youngster like you to lecture me." Adam laughed at the minister's comment, and morphed into an old man who was dressed similar to those commonly found sheep herding in Israel at the time of Christ. The secretary screamed as the change took place. "Reverend, what is going on here?" she asked as her eyes averted towards heaven. "Have no fear of any of us ma'am, we would never hurt anyone who is as pure of heart as you," Adam said. Then he turned his attention back to the reverend. "Is this more suitable? I am now hundreds of years older than you and able to lecture you as a youngster to me." The minister gasped and was rubbing his eyes. "I don't know what's going on here." "Reverend, you are on trial today for your actions. At 5:01 pm today, in less than one hour, the jury shall return and pronounce your sentence for the pain and suffering you have caused others. The Creator, who is the judge in your trial, will be deciding your fate based on your actions with Jeb and the many other young men who you claimed to be curing of their homosexuality." "But they are cured......." "Reverend, I thought the church Board said they wanted no part of that anymore a long time ago," said the secretary sternly. "He is still sending young men there Stella, as recently as the last couple of weeks. They are tortured including electroshock to their genitals, being kept in an ice water tank with just enough space to keep their face against the top of the cage to breath, or starved and sleep deprived if not just beaten. All of this, Stella, to alter the way the Creator made them, and I mean trying to make them straight." "Don't listen to him or it, Stella. He is a messenger of Satan trying to pervert our church." Adam's eyes began to glow white, and it soon encompassed his body. As the light dimmed, he had morphed into an angel. Stella fell to her knees and prayer. Adam stepped forward and took her hand, helping her back to her feet. "Stella, do not pray to me as I am just a messenger. You are such a beautiful woman inside and outside Stella, and the Creator is very proud of you and your life. You are raising your family with good values as well, ma'am. He loves you and your children so much, and hopes you will open your heart for another man to be your husband. Harvey is with the Creator in the other world and he is encouraging you to move on." Stella had tears in her eyes as she looked at Adam. "Stella, the Creator also didn't intend men like Albert to pervert his lessons and words to meet their own needs. There is no justification for doing what this man and his friends are doing to the Creator's children to change the way they were born." Stella looked at the reverend. "You were told by the elders and the board two years ago to stop your preaching of hate for the LGBT community. The official position of the church has been neutral in this issue, basically to not encourage but in no way, shape or form to discourage or alienate the community. The Board never supported or endorsed the use of any retraining camps because they are wrong and no different from gulag camps. I'm beginning to understand why the membership has been dropping again." Adam looked at the lady, and pondered how to ask the next question, and then it came to him. "Stella, why was the church supporting the camps at one time?" "The reverend was telling us it was a choice of lifestyle, not something they were born with. I didn't realize..." said Stella. She had a terrified look on her face. "Stella, have no fear. If I were to send someone to help you and the church board to learn the truth, would you accept him?" asked Adam. "Yes, I would listen to what he has to say and I would make sure the board did as well." The reverend was not speaking; he was just looking at the angel, and now his secretary openly speaking with it. Finally, the reverend decided what he had to do. He needed to lie so he could get out of here before 5:00 pm. Adam looked at the minister and sensed the change in his emotions, heart and breathing rate. He realized the man was moving into 'fight or flight' mode, and by interpreting the subtle signs, he was putting money on flight. "I will have him here by 5:00 pm," he finally said. Adam scrutinized the minister for a moment and said, "That is acceptable. Something else for you to consider, do you think you could out run us?" The minister looked away, "I have no clue what you are talking about." "That's good, Albert. I will let the team know you have changed you mind about running." "What do you mean team?" "Try to run or not fulfill your obligation by 5:00 pm and find out." Adam morphed into a white orb, and flew through the wall. Adam's orb wandered along the sidewalk, and then down the street until he arrived at the Chinese restaurant where the group were all meeting came into view. He floated down between the buildings, and morphed back into himself. Adam straightened his clothes and went into the restaurant to meet with the rest of the guys. At 5:00 pm, Adam and Liam entered the church office together. The minister was standing there, waiting for them alone as he had sent Stella home. "You're punctual." "I don't see anyone else here. Where is Jeb?" asked Liam. "He's not here, but will you speak on my behalf if I help you find the camp?" "Albert, my speaking on your behalf will not be necessary as the Creator knows everything you do, or have you forgotten the words you preach?" asked Adam. He fell to his knees. "I'll do it. I'll help you." Adam and Liam looked at the man. Liam's eyes flashed white as he spoke, "Jared, he's ready." The minister looked up. "Who were you speaking to?" Liam smirked, "You are about to meet the Most Sacred Medicine Man of the People, and the Messenger of the Creator. He is bringing some of the other team members who assist him in this world, and the next." As he spoke Jared walked in with two police officers behind him followed by a third who appeared to be a Sergeant followed by a Senior Officer according to the braid on his cap. "Albert, turn over all the information to these officers." asked Jared. "Maybe we should get the President of the Board down here to help out the access legalities, and I will turn that over to the Chief Superintendant." "Thanks Jared," replied Frank. John stepped forward, "I'll also take care of the media when they get here." The minister was now sitting in a chair against the wall. Josh was standing next to him, keeping control of him although there appeared to be no more fight left in him. Jared stepped forward and simply asked, "Where is Jeb?" The minister spilled his guts to everyone in the room. They had it confirmed the camp had few people in it, and a few staff members. It wasn't very big and it was actually an old farm which had been converted over. There was still a farm house, a large barn and a quonset. They had installed a high fence around the barn and quonset. The patients were kept in the basement of the barn with the upstairs being the offices, classroom, kitchen and washrooms. The reprograming was done in the quonset. It had been busier as well as more profitable in the past, but more and more churches were no longer using the camp. Back up began to arrive and the Chief Superintendent took over the command of the incident. They had a quick planning session on what to do at the camp. The Special Response Team was on the way, and they had to wait until a search warrant was obtained for the camp. "John, we don't need a search warrant," said Jared as he indicated Liam, Adam and himself. "Jared, although this is unknown circumstances, we do not expect immediate death or life threatening injuries. Before you even object, I know what they do in these camps but they do not try to kill them. We have some time but if we blow the entry, they may kill them to prevent them from giving us statements." Jared thought about it for a moment, and said, "We'll be back at base if you need us. This is really a police matter now, but call if you need us. In fact, it might not be a bad idea to transport any of their detainees by ambulance." "I'll keep it in mind Jared, and thanks." When they got to the ambulance base, Rob was sitting with Ryan and Melanie in his office. They had the police scanner turned on and were listening to the action. "Jared, I've already dispatched three units out there with Troy and Marci leading the team." "What the hell Rob..." started Jared without thinking. "Excuse me? That was an operational call and I got news for you... the only remaining medics we have in the city right now are sitting in this office. I needed you here and I made a decision as the Operations Manager... the job for which I was hired to do. The job which you didn't want to do even though you own the company because you prefer to be in the field. Now, either fire me or deal with it." Rob gave Jared a stern look. It took a moment, but Jared said meekly, "You are absolutely correct Rob, and I apologise. You're right, I was wrong. You did your job and deployed the manpower correctly." A collective sigh of relief was heard as everyone was holding their breath after Rob's speech. "Thank you, Jared," said Rob relieved. Jared extended his hand for a handshake. Instead, Rob came around his desk and gave Jared a big hug. "I'm sorry, Rob. Please, don't ever lose that ability to tell me where the bear shits in the forest. My grandfather would be proud of you for telling me the truth." "Thanks Jared," as they released each other. The moment was broken when Liam said, "I'll give Jared a spanking if you want, Rob." The group started to laugh, and the tension was gone. It was an hour later when a radio call to the base was made and advised they were en route to the hospital with six young men who were all ambulatory, but needing treatment. Before anyone could ask, Troy made it clear he had Jeb with him. He didn't say anything else. Ryan broke down crying, and Melanie pulled him tight to her chest. She was rubbing his back and tucked her head in tight to his. Rob looked at Jared and Liam and raised one eyebrow as a non-verbal message to them. Then, he smiled at the two people who seemed to have found each other in a time of crisis. Rob volunteered to drive them down to the hospital, and they left a few minutes later. Before they left, Ryan tightly embraced Jared and Liam while saying thank you. Melanie did as well, and she had tears rolling down her cheeks. She gave a light kiss on the cheek of both Liam and Jared as she hugged them. Liam held onto her for a moment and whispered into her ear, "You make a cute couple, Mel." She quickly whispered back, "Thanks, but I will have to slap you later for saying cute." She had a big smile on her face, and winked at Liam as she left with Rob and Ryan. Liam smiled and said, "I think the dragon lady is in love." "I felt it too, Liam. I have never felt any emotion this strong coming off Mel before, and she is so happy." "I've been trying to understand it, but I think the best way to describe it is she and Ryan make each other complete." "My thoughts exactly, Liam." The two men looked at each and said together, "I know who will be wearing the pants in that family." **************************************************************************** Thank you Scott for your help to make this flow over the rough spots.
