Part 2

"You can't just run off like that Trevor!"  Bryson's rant started right on schedule.  "And on top of that, you come waltzing in here with some guy draped over your shoulder!"  Not in the lot 5 minutes and he was in full 'father mode' already.

I grinned mischievously, "Jealous?"  It had taken me a couple weeks to get back, figuring in the daylight time I had used to sleep, and the occasional stop here and there.

"You're lucky I don't...."

"You don't what?  Throw me out of the lot?  Under what grounds Bryson?  That I took a vacation?  That I took time away from you and the rest of the downers around here?  Or is it really because I brought someone back with me?"

I could feel the anger radiating off of him, "Where do you expect to put him?  Not with you and Michael."  He paused, "By the way, you might want to think long and hard what you're going to say to Michael about you bringing some stray guy home.  Ask Dylan if you can put him in his car for his crossover."  I started to walk away, "Oh, and I want you to meet me on the roof in 30, got it?"

"Yes, daddy."  I snarled as I carried Joey away.  Great, not only is there yet more of the lecture to come, but I have to convince a guy who seems afraid of his own shadow most of the time to let Joey stay in his car for the next month until he recovers.

I slowly trudged over to Dylan who was sitting on top of his car.  I stopped when I felt a surge of desire pulse through me.  I followed his gaze, to where it was fixed on Dion.  Dylan's eyes never left him, not even for a moment.  I could feel the teenage hormones inside of him going wild..  for a moment it almost seemed like he was about to orgasm just by looking at Dion.  I walked up and snapped him out of his daze.

"I need to ask you something, Dylan."  He jumped a little, obviously surprised at my sudden presence.

"H-hey, Trevor."  He gulped, "W-what do you need?"

"My friend here,"  I said, as I pointed at Joey draped over my shoulder, "Needs a place to stay while he crosses over.  I wanted to know if you would keep him here in your car."

He looked at Joey, then at me, "I-I don't know..."  I gently set Joey down on the hood of the car, then hopped up right next to Dylan.  I leaned forward so my lips were just millimeters away from his ear.

"You know you want to do this for me, Dylan.  I'll make it worth your while."  My tongue snaked out and licked his ear.  Dylan jumped back, jittery from my flirting.  An obvious bulge had formed in his pants, which he tried to hide valiantly.

"H-he can stay here, I guess."  I gave him my winning smile.  He was feeling two very different urges.. one was to just about jump me right then and there, the other was to run the other way.  He stared at me with a troubled expression.  I walked over to him and ran my hand down the side of his face.  His breathing became heavy as my hands traveled further down his body, when someone decided to interrupt us.

"Leave him alone, Trevor."  Taryn spit out at me.  "I believe you have a boyfriend."  I glared at him, then a malicious smile came upon my face.

"No, I don't think that's why you want me to stop."  His look changed to one of confusion, "It's because you want me all for your self."

"Fuck you, Trevor."

"Anytime, crybaby."  I turned back towards Dylan, but he was gone.  I looked around, then noticed him standing beside Taryn now.  "What's the matter Dylan?  Why would you want to disappear when things were just about to get interesting?"  Dylan's extra was something different.. when he wanted to disappear from the world he could.  He could turn invisible.  It's a shame such a timid, weakling of a person would have such an extra, he doesn't even know what he could be doing with it.  Taryn turned on his heels and walked away with Dylan in tow.

I opened the door to Dylan's car, and placed Joey in the back seat.  I ran a hand along his cheek, "It won't be long now, in a couple of weeks you'll be starting your new life."  I backed out of the car, and closed the door behind me making sure the pitch black tinted windows were completely blocking out any chance for sunlight when daytime comes.

There was some rustling as I walked away from Dylan's "home".  Michael came walking out from behind a car.  There was a look of hurt on his face, but his desire for me was burning.. almost radiating off of him.  The hold I have over him is utterly pathetic, but in the same sense gives me the assurance that someone does care for me.  Michael is beautiful, but I'm not in love with him.. he's convenient.  A fuck and a half.

As soon as I got close enough he practically shoved his tongue down my throat.  I in turn returned the favor, seeing how far into his mouth my own tongue could go.  We started losing clothes as we continued moving, grinding into one another.  As I pushed Michael down onto the ground and eagerly took off the rest of his clothes, I heard Bryson in the distance.

"Trevor.. 5 minutes!"

I knew damn well where I was supposed to be.  I guess I should go... then again, maybe not.  I looked back at Michael, in all his glory.  I smiled my patented smile as I tossed the rest of my clothes.  Bryson can wait.

Three weeks later.....

Ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!  I screamed out.. or did I?  The pain.. oh god... am I still in the car?  My whole body felt like one giant cramp.  No matter how hard I tried, no sound would come out of my mouth.  I'm dead.. I-I'm in hell!  Someone help me.. argh.  I never did anything to anyone.. how could this happen?  The urge to cry was great.. but no tears would come.  The excruciating shots of pain coursing through my body were unbearable.  Come on Joey, fight it.  You're strong, think of good things to dull your pain.  Memories of my times with Blade flashed through my mind.  Our first meeting, our first fight, the day he came back into my life in New York.. the day we became boyfriends.  The thoughts made me forget the pain, but only momentarily.  Out of nowhere my body felt like someone had set it on fire.. like I was burning.  I writhed around, hoping that if I found the right position the pain would subside.  Boy was I wrong.  As soon as I turned the slightest bit, my body started to spasm.. like a seizure.  A cold sweat broke out over my brow, and finally a scream escaped my mouth.  Ahhhhh!  My ears!  Where I was it seemed to intensify the sound by a million.  My eardrums felt as if they were going to shatter... someone make it stop..  My eyes fluttered open, but a unbearable burning sensation raging through them made it near impossible to keep them open.. or closed for that matter.

"Shhh.. don't fight it.  Just relax or you'll make it worse."  A voice.  I tried to speak, but the words would not come.  "Just sleep, Joey."  I felt a hand brushing across my forehead and through my hair.  "Your new life is going to begin soon."  That was the last thing I heard before the world went black again.

I awoke again.. who knows how long after the first episode.  The pain was minimal this time.. and I could move a bit.  My body felt different.. like a new energy had been pumped into it.  I tried to get up, but that didn't seem like it was going to happen.  My eyes were able to stay open without the burning.  I used everything I could muster to pull myself up into a sitting position.  I still have a pounding headache, but if it's the alternative to the other pain, I'll take the headache anytime. My eyes scanned my surroundings.. which wasn't much as I realized I was in a car.  The windows were blackened, making it hard to see if it was light or dark outside.  I reached for the handle of the door, when I heard a small whimper from the front seat.  My strength slowly seemed to return to me as I propped myself up against the back of the passenger side seat.  I peered over the top of it and saw a young boy sleeping.   He had sandy brown hair and an adorable face.  Even though I consider myself to be more on the straight side than gay side, there was something majorly appealing about this beautiful boy.  I decided not to try and wake him, so I went back to the handle on the door.  I pulled it, but nothing happened.  That's when I noticed there were no locks on the inside.. I'm locked in a car with a boy I don't even know.  I contemplated kicking the window out, but decided against it.  I'm not strong enough yet to be that assertive.  I laid back down, but as soon as my eyes shut, I heard rustling from the front seat.  I kept my eyes closed not knowing what to expect.

"Still asleep."  I felt his hand run through my hair just like last time.. when he told me not to fight the pain.  I opened my eyes and stared into the most beautiful set of hazel eyes I've ever seen.

"I'm uh, not asleep."  I almost whispered out.  The boy jumped back a bit, startled that I was awake.

"Y-you're awake...when.."

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you.  I just woke up a few minutes before you did."  I reached a hand out to him.

"You're moving around... I-I'm surprised."  He grasped my hand timidly and shook it.  "I'm Dylan."

"Nice to meet you, uh, thanks for helping me through the other night.  I didn't think I was going to make it through that pain.  What was wrong with me anyway?"

"Uh.. y-you don't remember what happened?"  He asked.. his nervousness causing him to stutter a little bit.  I was about to tell him I had no idea when the sound of keys and the lock unlocking interrupted me.

A blonde boy popped his head in.  His eyes met mine.. those eyes.. that hair... I know him.  The boy from the hospital.  His beauty was breathtaking, a smile adorning his face.

"Look who's awake!  It's about time, I thought you were gonna sleep the rest of the year."  I gave him a confused look.  "Oh, I see.  You don't know what's going on.  Well, let's see if you can walk, you obviously crossed over well.. I'm surprised you are moving around like this already."  I tried to get up, but the pain in my head seemed to surge.  I fell back a little on the seat. "Okay, maybe we'll try again later."  He paused and looked at Dylan, "Get lost for awhile."  Dylan looked at me, blushed, then got out of the car and walked away.

"You don't have to be so mean to the kid."  He raised his eyebrows at me.

"Hehe, yeah... that 'kid'.. right.  Anyways, don't start the tough guy routine until you know what's going on."

"What did you do to me?"

"I gave you life."  He said, a cocky smile coming upon his face.

"How?  How did you save me if a team of surgeons couldn't?  Are you like Doogie Howser or something?"  I partly joked, but was serious about knowing how he saved me.

"Well, you see.. you aren't alive.  You've been asleep, going through a transformation for the last 5 weeks."  I looked at him like he was crazy, "But you're not dead either.  Actually, you're not alive like you used to be.. you're more alive than you've ever been.  Your senses are now that of no human being... you are going to see the world in a brand new way."

"I don't understand.. what are you trying to say?"

"It's simple, Joey.  You were pleading for help, for life.. I gave it to you.  With these..."  I watched as he slowly opened his mouth, and I saw two razor sharp fangs drop down where his canines were.

"Holy shit!  What the fuck.. let me out of here.. somebody!"  I frantically pulled at the handle of my door, but it wouldn't budge.

"Joey.. don't try to runaway.  I'm not going to bite you.. I already did.  That's how you survived.. that's why you're here.  You are now one of us.. you are a vampire."  This is crazy, a vampire?

"You're out of you mind.  I don't know what kind of freak you are.. hell I don't even know who you are!  Just let me out of here.. I don't want any part of this."

"Fine, have it your way."  He slid over a little bit and let me start to slide out of the car.  Before I got all the way out though, he wrapped his arms around me, and gently pushed himself forward, forcing me backwards back into the car.  He brought his face just inches from mine.

"Let me go..."  I pleaded.

"You say things you don't mean.  I know you want this.. I can feel it.  Trevor isn't going to hurt you, Joey.."  He leaned in and placed his lips over mine.  My mind was screaming at me to push him off, but another part of me was begging me not to stop.  His tongue snaked out of his mouth and poked at my lips.  I didn't fight him.. it was almost as if I couldn't.  This blonde boy.. Trevor.. was in complete control.  Our tongues fought for position in each others' mouths.  I felt a hand slip under the waist line of my pants and straight into my boxers.  I gasped as his hand slowly pumped at my now pulsating cock.  I don't know what he is doing.. but the feeling is like nothing I've ever felt before.. as if my feelings are intensified.  Trevor moved his mouth down and started sucking on my neck.  I was in a complete daze.. when a memory flashed through my mind.  The hospital.. me lying on the bed.. hearing his voice.. then a strange sensation coming from my neck.. seeing his face.. his mouth covered in blood.. my blood...  That snapped me out of the sexual daze I was in.  I started to push him off, when in the blink of an eye he slid down my body, pulling my pants and boxers down with him and before I knew it, his mouth was engulfed on my cock.  My will to fight him faded as he bobbed up and down on me.  I didn't take long before I felt a huge tingling feeling go all through my body.  I moaned out loudly as I emptied my juice into his mouth.. my eyes rolling back into my head from the intensity.  He kept nursing it until it was completely limp, then pulled off.  I lay there in sexual bliss, breathing heavily, trying to regain my senses.  He crept up and kissed me on the mouth again, pushing his tongue in, making me taste my own seed.

A knock at the door broke us out of our little session.  I did my best to get my pants back up as Trevor made no move to get off of me.  He leaned in close to my ear, "Still want to runaway?"  I didn't say anything, just looked down, "You owe me now."  He smiled that malicious smile once again, then opened the door.  He stepped out and then another guy appeared in the doorway.

"You're up.. that's good.  Come on then, let's get you out of there."  This boy looked to be around my age, short brown hair, brown eyes, and a small strip goatee.  He extended his hand to me and helped me out of the car.  As soon as I stepped out of that car it was like I was in an entirely different world.  I could hear everything around me.. cars from the distance, the sound of feet crunching on the ground, crickets chirping.. everything.  It was as if the world had completely changed.  "It's a lot different than you used to see it."  I turned to this, Bryson, giving him a questioning look.  "This is how the world is meant to be seen, not how the humans see it.  The taking for granted of what they have, who they have, who they are.  We see things how they truly are."

"Oh, come on, you're not trying to tell me this whole vampire thing is real."  He looked at me as if I had grown a second head.

"What do you mean?  Of course it's real.  I'm a vampire, all the people here are vampires.. you're a vampire, Joey.  You're still in the early phase of your crossover."

"How is this possible?  I mean.. vampires are just made up, aren't they?"  My mind was panicking and my heart was racing.  All I kept hearing was run.

"If you run away where are you gonna go?  You have no idea what you are anymore, if you try to go out on you will not make it.  You need our help, whether you accept it or not.  I, along with the others will teach you how to survive, how to control your extra once it comes in, how to feed..."

"Extra?  Feed?  What do you mean.. I'm not sucking anyone's blood!"

"If you don't, you will die.  Plain and simple."  He looked at me, trying to gauge my reaction, "Look, Joey.  We aren't your enemies.  The people here can and will help you if you give them the chance."

"But what about my friends, my girlfriend..."  Nikki and I had just reconciled before the accident, I can't even imagine what she's going through, let alone what Blade is going through.

Bryson sighed, "Trevor didn't explain any of the rules to you did he?"  I shook my head, "Well, you have to leave your old life behind.  That means no contact with your loved ones, no contact with any humans that know you at all."

"Y-you mean I can't see them ever?"

"No, you can't.  It could jeopardize everything that we are.  If humans were to know of our existence, besides the government, then there would be wide spread panic."  I can't let them know I'm okay.. I can't take away their pain.  God...  "I can see your urge to see them is very strong, especially the girl and the one you call Blade.  It can't happen Joey, if they see you there's going to be trouble."

"This sucks.  I have to start life over.. find new people to call my friends, my family?"  Tears fell from my eyes as I spoke.

"If you accept who you are now, and can deal with it, the people here will be your family."  He put an arm around my shoulders, "Come on, let's introduce you to the others." We walked to the center of this 'lot' we seemed to be in.  Bryson told me to stay put as he went around and gathered the others.  I guess he's the father figure of this group.  So young too, but I guess the other people here are younger than him.

A crowd of teenagers gathered in front of me.  A gorgeous girl stepped forward first and introduced herself, "Hi, I'm Jenna.  Welcome to the lot."  Her face was a little flush, her shyness showing through.  Her blonde hair waved as she moved, bringing out her sparkling blue eyes.

"Hey, I'm Joey."  I shook her hand.  I felt a tap on my waist, so I turned around.  A young guy sitting in a wheel chair held his hand out to me.

"I'm Doc, glad to see another new face around here."  His smile beamed as he spoke.

"Nice to meet you."  I was surprised by their warm welcomes.  I don't know what I was expecting, but they are 'vampires'.  I still can't get used to that notion.  A young boy, who looked to be about 14 stepped up to me.  His hair an auburn color, and the most hypnotizing green eyes I've ever seen.  Not even my friend Jordan's eyes could compare to this boy's.

"Hey, I'm Taryn."  He gave off a very welcoming vibe.  I gripped his hand as he offered it.  I looked down at a strange marking on his wrist.. it looked like a tattooed bracelet.  I ran my hand over it, not feeling any lines like you would on a tattoo.

"What is this?"  I asked.

He blushed, "It's a sign of love.  My boyfriend has one too, he was born out of love."  He beamed as he spoke of this.  I looked down at my own wrist sadly.  If I really am a vampire, then I'll never have that kind of connection with someone.  He brought his hand to my chin and lifted my head up.  "Hey, don't be sad.  Just because you weren't born out of love doesn't mean you can't have what I have with Justin."  I gave him a weak smile.

"And I believe you know Dylan."  Said Bryson.  Dylan smiled shyly, staring at the ground.

"Yeah,"  I offered my hand and he tentatively took hold of hit.  I pulled him in for a hug, as my thank you for him helping me through the pain.  He tensed up in my arms, but eventually relaxed a bit. There was something about Dylan that just got to me.  His shyness mixed in with his good looks.  It just pulled at my heart strings.  A young black boy walked towards us and Dylan immediately freed himself from my grasp.  I looked at him oddly, wondering what that was all about.

"Well, the new blood is awake.  Welcome back to the world."  He grinned, "This here is Napolean,"  He pointed to a beaten up looking dog.  "I hope you'll like it here.  Well, I'm going out for awhile, anyone wanna come with?"  Jenna, agreed, while Doc kindly refused and went on his way.  "How about you, Dylan?"  He turned to where Dylan had been standing, but there was no sign of him.  "Okay then.. Sorry Joey, I'd ask you, but big daddy here isn't gonna let you run around just yet."  Bryson smacked him upside the head.  Dion laughed it off and went on his way.

"The rest of the family around here are either scattered somewhere in here, or have gone out.  You'll have to meet them later."  Bryson said.  "If you need anything come see me."  I watched as he walked away.

"Hey, do you wanna come take a walk with me?"  Taryn asked.

"Sure."

We walked for a little while in silence.  I was unsure of what to say, and still trying to let everything set in.  I mean, how does someone come to terms with the fact that they are a vampire.. that the life they knew is now no more.  Taryn seemed to be happy, probably because of his boyfriend.  I don't have anyone like that here.  The people who I even came close to having the perfect love with are back in California... wait...

"This may sound stupid, but where am I?"

Taryn giggled, "You're in Chi town, Chicago, The Windy City..."

"Hehe, okay, I get it.  So, do you know how I got way over here from California?"

"Trevor carried you here."

"Yeah right, how'd I really get here?"

"Hehe, he did!"

"How is that possible?  He's not even as built as me.. for him to carry me is ridiculous."

"See, being a vampire has a lot of advantages.  Including increased strength, speed and so on.  You're body went through a complete transformation.  How you look right now is how you will look for the rest of your life.  Your appearance will never age, if you get hurt you will heal."

"So, um, how do I die?"

"Well, sunlight of course.  Then there's starvation.  Of course if too much damage comes to your body you could die too.  Um, how are you handling that concept?  I mean you still have awhile before you'll need to feed, but you understand what it is that you have to do in order to survive right?"

"Yeah.  I uh, have to bite people..."  The thought of it sent a chill up my spine.

"Well that's part of it.  By biting them you kill them.."

"But they come back like us right?"

"No, bud.  That's only if you want to transform them, but we just can't go around turning everyone into a vampire."

"I-I don't know if I can kill someone..."  I didn't even like fighting with people, let alone killing them.

"I'll tell you what, when your time comes I'll take you out.  I'll walk you through it, help you pick out someone who doesn't deserve life.  It will be hard at first.. I almost lost my baby because of his refusal to take a human life.  You'll get used to it after awhile, but you have to learn to let go of your hesitation.  We don't kill for fun, we kill out of necessity.  If we don't, then we are the ones who die."

We must've made 10 laps around the lot by this point.  I pictured myself jumping some woman walking down a sidewalk, ripping into her neck.  Blood dripping from her neck and my mouth... how am I going to make it?

"Thanks for offering to help me Taryn.. but I don't know if I could do that to someone.  I mean.. god, killing someone.."  Tears started to fall again.  I don't usually cry a lot, but things have been way too much for me lately.  Taryn stopped and put his arm around me.

"Shhh, everything will be fine, Joey.  You don't have to worry about this just yet.  When you do, I'll be there for you, we'll all be there to help you."

I looked up into his eyes, "You're a really great person, you know that?  Your boyfriend is a very lucky guy."  He blushed a deep red.

"Hehe, thanks.  I'll introduce you to him when he comes around.  He's kind of been separating himself from me and the rest of the group lately.  Well, anyways, I wanted to warn you about...."

"Why, hello there sleeping beauty."  A familiar voice cut off Taryn before he could finish what he was about to say.  Trevor looked at Taryn, "Taryn.  Why don't you run along, go find something new to cry about."  That devious smile returned to his face.  It seemed that no matter how beautiful Trevor was, his true personality would show through and make him out to be the ugly person he is.

"Why don't you?"  Taryn challenged.

"Wow!  Did someone finally grow a set?"

I was pissed at his obvious attempt to bait Taryn into a fight.  "Why don't you leave him alone, Trevor?  We're just talking."

He looked at me in surprise, obviously not expecting me to speak up to him, "You may just be talking now, but you want more than that don't you Joey?  You want to jump Taryn's bones?"

"Fuck you."

"In time my brown eyed boy.  Don't forget who brought you here, who saved your life."

"And I'm to believe you did that for my sake right?  It seems to me you expect to be paid back for your 'gift'..."

"You owe me, Joey.  Whether you like it or not.  You owe me for your life, you owe me for the car.  I own you."

"You're a real prick.  To think that such a good looking boy could be such a bastard of a person is beyond me.  Good thing I got to see your true colors before I went and did something stupid like fall for you."

His smile wavered momentarily.  He could tell I noticed, but tried to play it off, "If you fell for me it would be a one sided deal anyways."

"Sure Trevor.  You're not even sure of what you want.  You think I'm going to be some sex toy to you, you've got another thing coming.  I don't need you as much as you think I do.  Come on Taryn, let's go talk somewhere else."

With that, Taryn and I walked away leaving Trevor sitting on the edge of a car watching us go.  I may be new to this vampire thing, but I know how to handle myself, and I'll be damned if some pretty boy dickhead like him is going to play master to me.

"That was great!  Haha, that's the first time I've seen Trevor speechless in awhile."

"Well, he can play games all he wants.  I've always been pretty perceptive, and I can tell he likes me more than he wants to admit."

"Maybe that will factor into your extra when it starts to come around."

"What is this extra that everyone is talking about?"

"Your extra is like your special power.  All of us have one, none of them the same.  Everyone's extra is unique in one way or another from every other vampire.  It comes from how we were in our human lives.  Like, Dylan... he disappeared back there.  He's a very shy and nervous person...."

"And cute..."

"Hehe, yeah and cute.  But anyways, when he gets too nervous, he disappears.  He doesn't even realize it sometimes.  Once we've perfect our own extras we can start to teach them to others and vice versa.  It's like an endless amount of new tricks and skills to learn."

"When will mine come in?"

"Well, it could come in at anytime really.  Hmmm.. care to try something?"

"Sure.. if it's not going to severely hurt me, hehe."

He smiled warmly at me, "It won't.  This probably won't work yet, but it's worth a shot.  I'm going to think of something, and I want you to tell me what it is."

"How do I do that?"

"Just relax and focus on me.  Just pretend everything else is not here.  Look into my eyes and concentrate.  You will only be able to do this if another vampire lets you, on humans you can do it whenever you want.  Ready?"

I nodded, then tried to focus on him and only him.  I stared into his endless emeralds, trying my best not to get lost in them.  The beauty of him was unbelievable.  I shook the thoughts from my head and tried to concentrate.  I didn't hear anything.

"I don't hear anything."

"Okay.  It's not a hearing thing per say.  You'll just know what I'm thinking."

I stared at him, but still got nothing.  I gazed deep into his eyes, when something strange happened.  Taryn flickered.. no.. wait.. what the hell?  I could see right through him, right through his body for a split second.  I shook my head and looked at him again.  He was all there.. I reached my hand out and touched his face.

"Hehe, what are you doing?"

"Um.. I think going crazy..."

"What happened?  Did you get the message?"

"No.. just umm, never mind.  I thought I saw something."

"Saw something?"

"Well, uh, I think I just saw right through you."  He looked at me with a confused look, then his eyes widened.

"No way!  Your first day awake and your extra is starting already?  I'll talk to Bryson about it."

"Okay.  Well, I think I'm going to turn in.  I'm still not up to par with my stamina."

"Okay.  I'm glad you're here, Joey.  Get your rest, I'm sure your training will start soon."  He hugged me and walked off towards a van which I assume is where he lives.  I turned on my heals and headed back to Dylan's car.  I opened the back door and climbed in, making myself as comfortable as possible.  What a day.....
