Costic Robert Costic has written a collection of fairy tales, "Flamethrower Fairy Tales," and a novella, "Kepler's Revenge," and has also translated the 19th century German writer Theodor Storm's fairy tales and ghost stories. All are available as ebooks everywhere. ----- That a convention about orgone existed at all was a small wonder. Orgone, a supposed sexuality-based life force proposed by the Austrian psychoanalyst Wilhelm Reich, had never been proven by scientific method to exist, and U.S. Food and Drug Administration had long ago banished any claims that orgone-related therapy could actually cure diseases like cancer. And yet there remained a small but devout contingent of orgonomitry supporters who made websites, wrote articles, and held conventions to discuss their research with each other. And so Justin found himself drinking a diet Coke and eating some stale pretzels provided on the folding table of a conference room during an orgone conference at a hotel in Ocean City, Maryland. He had just finished participating in a panel discussion about the possibility of using orgone as an alternative energy resource. Justin had been working on refashioning the orgone accumulator so that it could transform the orgone it captured into electricity, but so far he had no success. Yet he had written a paper on his experiments and shared his findings in the hopes that others would have helpful insights. No one did, however. Justin took himself seriously as a scientist, but most of the people at the conference were hippies who cared more about expressing their feelings. They were useless to him. In fact, he could barely think of anyone at this gathering who could match, let alone surpass, his sophistication. "What I'm doing is too important for this riffraff," he thought to himself, "but how am I to make progress without real help?" Just then a young man approached him. "Justin Nicholas," he said, "My name is Ron Hubberdy. I really enjoyed what you had to say at your presentation. I've been working on a device that can monitor the level of orgone energy. I've made a lot of progress, and I thought you might be interested. I'm thinking that if we can finally measure orgone energy we can figure out better ways to harness it. Would you be interested in seeing the work I've done?" "Of course," Justin said. "I brought it with me," Ron said. "It's in my room. If you come up I can show it to you." A few minutes later Justin was looking at the device, which didn't look much different than a tire pressure calculator. "Actually, it's a tire pressure calculator," Ron said, "but I refurbished it to measure orgone instead. Since this is still such a new field, and we don't have agreed-upon units of measurement for orgone, I'm just using the numbers already on the calculator for now." At the moment the hand on the monitor barely reached one. "Doesn't look like there's much orgone in here now," Justin said. "When do you see it register higher levels of orgone?" "When it's near people having sex," Ron said. "As you know, orgone derives from sexual energy--" "Well that's controversial," Justin interrupted. "We know that orgone is the source of our erotic energy, but it isn't clear whether we can transform our erotic energy back into orgone. In other words, our erotic energy may be just a by-product rather than a cause for orgone." "All I know," Ron said, "Is that when I'm fucking the orgone goes through the roof. "So how do you propose showing that it works?" "I was wondering if you might volunteer your body to me," Ron said, "you know, for the sake of science." "Are you hitting on me?" Justin asked. "I'm just saying... We could fool around, see what the monitor does, and if nothing else we could at least say we had a little fun. What do you say?" Justin responded by kissing Ron on the mouth, but as he did so he watched the orgone meter and saw that its hand rose slightly. This intrigued him, so he proceeded further. They kissed, their mouths opened, their tongues intermingled, and as they did so the orgone meter continued to show greater and greater levels of orgone. They took each other's clothes off, pressed against each other, kissed, grabbed each other's dicks and sucked on them. During all this time Justin kept an eye on the meter, and it did indeed seem to respond to their sexual activities. By the time Justin penetrated through Ron's sphincter with his lubricated dick the meter reached its highest possible level. When they finished Ron said to Justin, "You're wonderful. That was the best sex I ever had. Come with me to my lab. I'll show you where I built the orgone meter, and you can study all my designs and notes." Justin had no pressing reason to go back home after the convention, considering that he didn't have a full-time job and lived with his parents in his childhood bedroom, so he said, "Yes." In his mind he already fantasized patenting and building orgy-fueled power plants and becoming fantastically rich. Soon enough they were driving together to Ron's home, which turned out to be a large, beautiful Victorian house with a wrap-around porch. "Do you live here with your family?" Justin asked. "You mean with my parents?" Ron replied as they parked in front of the entrance. "No, although over the years I've brought over people, and together we've become a sort of family." They entered the house and were greeted by the bustle of people up to all sorts of activities, from cooking, watching the television, ironing clothes, playing with a dog, and so on. As Ron led Justin up to the guest bedroom where he'd be staying, Justin asked, "How did you find all these people?" "Over the years. They're other people who believe in the orgone, and for one reason or another we've found it better to live together. There are a lot of people who don't understand us or our interests, and so I've made this into a kind of place for support." After Justin dropped his stuff in the bedroom Ron took him to the laboratory in the basement. There Justin found notebooks full of Ron's writings. "Feel free to look through them and let me know what you think," Ron said. "This may take a while," Justin said, feeling slightly overwhelmed. "Don't worry; take your time." So over the course of the next couple of days Justin read the notebooks, but rather than shed light on the mechanics of the orgone meter they imparted Ron's extensive philosophy and spiritual beliefs regarding the orgone. For Ron, the orgone was the substance of God, and he had a plan to bring God embodied to Earth by creating a supercritical amount of orgone energy by way of an incredibly large, concentrated orgy. This all struck Justin as ridiculous, and he began to doubt that the orgone meter was legitimate. He wanted to study the device Ron had shown him in the hotel, but now for whatever reason he couldn't find one. He tried to find Ron, but he had disappeared and when he asked one of the residents where he was the man responded that Ron had made a trip into the city. Justin continued to read Ron's notebooks in the meantime, and when Ron returned the next day he had in tow a young, college-age man with him. Ron very publicly introduced the man as Eric to all the residents, who greeted him warmly. Justin tried to catch Ron for a one-on-one conversation, but Ron said he would be busy for the next day. Justin's intuition told him that something was wrong, but he couldn't figure out how to articulate it to himself. He was curious about this new fellow Eric, who looked cute and seemed both happy and nervous in his new environment. Justin sensed that he couldn't really talk to the other residents of the house, as they were obviously attached to Ron and regarded Justin as an interloper, but maybe if he talked to this young man he could figure out what was going on in this house. In the evening after everyone had eaten dinner and had gone to bed Justin made a point of stopping by Eric's bedroom. The door was ajar, so he knocked softly on it and said hello. Eric was sitting on the bed, visible from the hallway, and when Justin knocked Eric asked, "Is it time yet?" "Time for what?" Justin asked, entering into the bedroom. "Time for the ceremony," Eric said. "What ceremony?" "The ceremony for being initiated into the house. You've done it, haven't you?" "Oh, did Ron tell you about it already?" "Yeah. Honestly, I'm kind of nervous." "Oh. Well did he tell you what's going to happen?" "Yeah..." "And what's that?" "Well, you know... I'll be introduced to everyone, you know, through the power of orgone." "How are they going to do that?" "I'll be having sex with everyone, one-by-one." And then it occurred to Justin, and he told Eric, "Eric, I just realized something. This is a cult." "Oh. Well everyone here seems nice. And I don't have anywhere to live. I'm kind of homeless." "Come with me. I'm going to leave. You can stay with me in the meantime." "I don't know..." Justin took Eric by the hand and led him out of the bedroom. "Just come." Justin didn't even stop by his room to get his things. They walked together out of the house, down the street back into town, eventually back to Justin's home, and into Justin's room. There Justin undressed Eric, kissed him, groped his body, touched his nipples, rimmed his ass, chewed his earlobe, ran his hand through his hair, squeezed his shoulders, and slid his dick in Eric's asshole.
