to wait. Because something unexpected was about to happen.

Kyle was kissing Dylan's neck. This had Dylan in an overdrive. He was lost

"You are far more perfect" Dylan said as his eyes slightly watered, he felt

"Something's wrong!" He said, head high in sign of alert.

"What's wrong!??" Dylan said sitting up.

"He's back!!!" Kyle said as he moved his hands around his body producing
battle clothes. He motion his hands over Dylan and did the same.

The clothes were simple, but clearly designed for battle. Black in color,
made with a resistant material and a light armor in the most vital points
in the body.

"We need to meet with Tyler, Ray and Andy!"

"What do you mean with He is back? Who is back??" Dylan asked confused as
he rose to his feet.

"I'll tell you when we get to Tyler!" Kyle said as he offered his hand.

Dylan nodded and took hold of his hand. They quickly disappeared in a
twirl.

They appeared in front of Tyler's camp. There also in combat clothes, was
Ray. Dylan notices that Ray looked a little bit different. He seemed more
built and looked a lot more tough. His hair was also a little bit
lighter. That helped him looked more handsome.

Tyler came out of one tent. He was dressed in a very light battle
suit. Very similar to the ones Dylan and Kyle were wearing.

"You felt that?" Kyle asked Tyler.

"I did! It means who's sealing us in here is extremely powerful." Tyler
answered

"Where is Andy? Hibernating?" Kyle asked. Tyler only nodded. "That's so
Andy, always sleeping when you need him the most. He does have a talent to
show up at the best moment." Kyle said while smiling.

"Ok, ok, ok!! I've got questions!!" Dylan said. "Who's coming? Why could
you both feel him coming?  Why the heck is Andy hibernating?"

"Haha lots of questions. Considering we only have a few minutes I'll answer
briefly. Easiest first. Andy is sleeping because he needed to rest after
yesterday's fight. Second, remember when I told you that there where very
few Shadow Mages?" Dylan nodded. "That's because there is only
one. Razzu. Well there were a few other but he killed the others and stole
their power. And we could feel it because we are used to be in this place
and anything that happens to the barriers we can feel it!"

"So what happened to the barriers?" Ray asked. Dylan thought Tyler had
explained this to him already due to his lack of questions, but apparently
it was a brother thing to act first, explain later.

"They have been sealed! Preventing us from going through them. We are
basically trapped in here!"  Kyle said

"Can't you break them?" Dylan asked.

"I tried, but they are a shadow seal. A good one!!"

"Like the one I had?" Ray asked stepping forward.

"Yes! But yours was weakened and on a much smaller scale! This is
different. Is new and well placed. We only have a few..." Kyle couldn't
finish his sentence when the sky started to rip open.

It sounded like a piece of paper being ripped in two. From the gap shadows
started to pour like water in four distinct falls.

"What can you feel?" Kyle directed his attention to Tyler who seemed
focused on the direction where the shadow was being poured.

"One level 7 shadow mage. That's Razzu, one level 5 shadow mage. And.."
Tyler paused and focused even harder. "Two level 6 assassins!"

"Ok! This is what we are going to do! Tyler and Ray fight against both
assassins. Try to remain together so you can help each other. Dylan you
fight against the other shadow mage. I will take Razzu!" Kyle said while
walking forward.

"Wait!!" Dylan stopped Kyle, grabbing him from his arm. "I don't feel
prepared!!"

"You are ready!! Remember you got an advantage over him! You can fight!
They can't fight hand to hand!  Get close and attack! Try covering your
hand with a shadow!!" Kyle said giving Dylan a reassuring smile and a kiss
on the cheek.

The shadows stopped pouring and now standing there where the four enemies
Tyler had described. It was easy recognizing them. The assassins where
twins. They were dressed in shaggy, very worn-out clothes. It seemed as if
they were in some kind of mental facility. They seemed to be in their late
20's.  Their faces were very thin. Dark brown eyes with matching brown
hair. One was leaning over the other with one arm over the other's
shoulder.

On the other side was the level 5 shadow mage. He was dressed in a black
outfit. He was very young, had to be 17 years old maximum. He had a very
young looking face. The only that stood out from his outfit was a red belt
and a red scarf.

And in the middle, Razzu. He looked older, maybe in his 30's. Black hair
and black colored eyes. He had a short beard. His face had a very menacing
expression.

"So this is where you have been hiding! You really thought you could hide
him from me?" Razzu said. His voice deep and you could definitely feel evil
in its words.

"What are you doing here Razzu?" Kyle asked firm, sword in hand ready to
attack.

"What else would I be doing here Kyle? I've come to take the life of that
thing standing besides you!! He took my power! I want it back!!" After he
had said that, Razzu's companions got into a fightning stance.

"Get ready! Tyler and Ray take the twins! Dylan take on the level 5 mage, I
will fight against Razzu!" Kyle spoke in everybody's mind at once.

"I can't! I'm not ready!" Dylan answered afraid.

"Trust me! You fought against me! You are ready to fight against a level 5
Magbei. I trust you!" Kyle said, and Dylan immediatly felt reassured.

Without any notice, Razzu and his gang started running towards Kyle and his
group.

The fight had begun.

Immediatly, Tyler and Ray disappeared in a blur, at the same time as the
twins. They were quickly immersed into a fight. Tyler would fight side by
side with Ray, who was handling the situation really well.  He attacked
with a katana but would effortlessly change it into a smaller dagger
clearly designed for close hand to hand combat. Tyler was skillfully
controlling one of the twins. Every time the twin tried to move closer to
his brother and Ray, Tyler would stop him. Their combat was like watching
an amazing coordinated dance.

Kyle moved faster and just as he was about to collide against Razzu, the
other shadow mage swapped places with him. Dylan, not expecting the swap,
was pinned down to the ground hard. Kyle was distracted by this and the
Shadow Mage threw a massive black ball to his chest, sending Kyle flying a
few feet away.

"So you are the one that will destroy me??!" Razzu had Dylan firmly on the
ground one hand in his throat. "You are nothing but a waste of power!! You
are nothing compared to me!!"

"What do you want from me?" Dylan managed to ask.

"What? What I want from you?" My power!! That's what I want!! The power
that you have taken away from me!!" Razzu shouted.

"I haven't done anything!!" Dylan shot back.

"Oh poor thing! Nobody explains anything to poor Dylan! Your power is not
your own, your power is but a loan!! That's why every time a shadow mage is
born; part of my power goes to them. The stronger they grow, the weaker I
get!! That's why I have searched and murdered every single one!!" Razzu
lifted Dylan from the ground and threw him in the air. Dylan landed on top
of a rock.

"But you!! You managed to slip away from my hands!! I was so close to you!
But your stupid parents had to intervene!! If it weren't for them and
hiding you from me!! I had to kill them when I couldn't find you!!  You
were very young!! And somehow your powers where always hidden from me!!"

Razzu walked closer to Dylan who was still recovering from his fall and
covered him with shadows immobilizing Dylan. Dylan was angry due to these
new revelations. His parents hadn't died in an accident like everybody told
him; they were murdered by the same person that was standing in front of
him.

"But I am glad you passed that test and came here! If you hadn't come out
of your protected zone, I wouldn't have found you till you were stronger!!"

"I am strong!!!!"  Dylan muttered almost to himself. His gaze was down to
the ground.

"What did you say?" Razzu go closer.

"I am strong enough!!!" Dylan shouted and with that he broke out of Razzu's
shadows.

Immediately after he freed himself, he summoned his shadow sword and went
directly towards Razzu.  Dylan was quick on his feet and when Razzu
attacked him he was ready to dodge and counter attack.  Dylan knew that his
shadow powers where not enough to win against Razzu so he decided to
combine his shadow attacks whith normal spells.

"Lightning strike!!" Dylan pointed two fingers towards Razzu, and from his
fingers a powerful lightning bolt appeared.

Razzu defended against his attack, but Dylan was ready to attack again. He
levitated several rocks around him and called a spell on them.

"Mass duplicate!" When he finished the incantation, not only had the amount
of rock doubled, but also each rock had doubled the amount of mass, making
them heavier and stronger. Dylan launched these projectiles against Razzu,
who lifted a shadow shield.

When the rocks made contact with the shield they disintegrated. Razzu had
no problem defending against these attacks.

"You have no chance against me with those useless attacks!!!" Razzu shouted
as he quickly approached Dylan.

(Kyle's Fight)

The moment the shadow ball hit him, Kyle knew it hadn't make significant
injuries. The attack itself was a diversion to keep him away from Dylan. Of
all the possibilities Kyle could come up with, the idea Razzu had to swap
places with his apprentice, was not one of them.

"You wouldn't think it was going to be that easy did you?? Just send that
little bug against me? And you have your chance against Razzu? You are so
predictable!!" This new shadow mage said towards Kyle.

Kyle's first thought was to skip this enemy and run directly towards Dylan
who was not so far away. He could see Dylan in trouble.

"Don't even think about it, lover boy!! In order to get to him, you will
have to go through me!!" After saying this, the shadow beneath him
stretched until it formed a giant circle around both him and Kyle.

Kyle tried to run, but was immediately stopped by this invisible force.

"I told you it wasn't that easy!!"

"What do you want??" Kyle shouted.

"What do you think we want?? Power!! ALL OF IT! But your boy over there is
in our way!! So we will remove him from the equation! First I will finish
you then....." He could even finish his sentence when Kyle was just inches
away from him with his hand pushing the mage in the abdomen.

"Disintegrate!!" Kyle murmured, and his whole hand up to his mid arm
changed in color and texture into a grey color with glowing blue markings.

The mage tried to move away from the attack but it was too late, almost
half of his body had completely disappeared into thin air. What was left of
the body fell to the floor.

"Well he did manage to avoid the whole attack!!" Kyle said to himself. He
started running towards Dylan, but was once again stopped by the force
field.

"What?" Kyle said confused.

"You are seriously underestimating the power of a shadow mage !" The shadow
mage slowly stood up, shadow covering his wound. After the shadow
disappeared his wound had disappeared and not even the clothes were harmed.

"Your healing skills are amazing. I truly have underestimated you. May I
know your name?"

"I'm Caleb. Why do you want to know??"

"By knowing your opponent's name you are able to fight with them with
higher respect. Are you ready??" Kyle said while shifting into a fighting
stance.

"Always!!"

"Stone Golem!!" Kyle shouted and from the ground a huge figure erupted.

"Fire Golem!!" Kyle created fire and from the fire a similar figure
appeared. "Water Golem!! Wind Golem!!" Quickly two more figures appeared
made from the respective elements.

Kyle looked small in comparison to the 4 huge figures right next to
him. Ready to fight, he darted towards Caleb who didn't seem frightened.

When Kyle and his Golems where near, Caleb summoned 2 large shadows
surrounding the golems with it. Fire and stone in one and water and ice in
the other. Kyle attacked swiftly with lightning in hand.

Caleb blocked his first attack with a shadow and immediatly returned the
attack with a shadow sword.

The fighting skills that Caleb had where equal to Kyle's. Clearly this
match was not going to be won by fighting skills but by magic.

Kyle evading an attack had to back down a few feet. This gave him the space
to look that his golems where still inside the shadows. He could still
control them.

"Unite! Lava Golem!! Ice Golem!!" Inside the Golems quickly united and
created a more powerful Golem.

"Always destroy any summon you get your hands on!!" Kyle said. In a
powerful blast the Golems broke free and proceeded to attack Caleb, who was
desperately trying to defend himslef with shields.

When the pressure was too much Caleb decided to summon a special attack.

"Shadow Armor!!"

Just as Caleb was going to be squashed by the Lava Golem, shadows covered
him creating a ball around him. When the shadows disappeared, Caleb was
standing with a black armor with fine red outlines and a black staff with
red decorations that faintly glowed in hand. Kyle thought he really looked
like a mage with that outfit.

The golems attacked again but this time Caleb was ready. Caleb streatched
his arm and easily stopped the attack with one hand. And with his staff he
stabbed the golem and this one was destroyed.

The Ice Golem attacked Caleb with a powerful Ice Shards attack but Caleb
didn't even moved. He swung his staff and without even touching the golem
sent him flying to the invisible barrier and destroyed it.

"Now let's see how ends up like a bloody half in the floor!!" Caleb said
with a wicked smile on his face.

(Tyler and Ray's Fight)

After the fight had begun the twins had drawn Tyler and Ray away from the
other 2 fights.

The twin's fighting was, from the lack of any better word, perfect. They
where in total synchrony with each other. But Tyler and Ray where not
behind. They were defending themselves really good. Because of the time
they had spent training together, Ray could understand Tyler's attacks.

The twins where fighting with a pair of Sai blades each. They were very
fast and precise. When they were close their hand to hand combat was
outstanding. Ray was completely sure that the only thing that was saving
him right now was his Focused View and also his "jumping" ability, which
apparently had no limit.

Nonetheless Ray was quickly starting to feel tired. In an unexpected
movement one of the twins attacked Ray without any weapons. As soon as he
was in hand range, the attacker seemed to get faster.

Ray couldn't even defend against the punches. They were brief and
precise. The attackers applied special pressure points on Ray. Making him
fall helplessly on the ground.

He was completely paralyzed, he could still feel every muscle but could not
make a single movement.  The other twin had drawn Tyler away from Ray. And
just as his brother this twin had suddenly become faster and was
overwhelming Tyler.

Ray's heart was beating fast. He saw as his attacker stood right next to
him with a dagger in hand. Tyler was too far away. Ray knew he was going to
die.

"Andy!!" Was the only thing Ray could think of in his last moment.

The assassin slowly raised the dagger and powerfully plunged it down
towards Ray's heart.

A few inches before the it got to Ray, a giant set of claws stopped the
dagger. The paw had the attacker's hand disabled. Andy roared strongly and
with one fast movement, broke the arm that had the dagger, and with his
other paw, landed a blow to his face, sending him flying to a tree. He was
obviously dead.

The other attacker was distracted by this new foe and also worried for his
brother. Tyler took the advantage and attacked. He used a special move very
similar to the one that the other twin used on Ray.

Quickly Tyler concentrated on some special pressure points. His hands where
moving extremely fast. He did almost 30 movements in less than two
seconds. The last movement was on the attacker's chest. He raised him up
with just his fingertips. The last twin could only grunt as Tyler finished
his move.

The lifeless body fell to the floor as Tyler ran towards Ray.

"He's ok!" Andy said to Tyler through his mind. "Go help your brother! You
must help him in order to save Dylan!!"

Tyler was indecisive for a moment.

"Go!! I'll take care of Ray!! Go!!"

Tyler stood up and ran towards Kyle.

Ray was so happy that he was alive, but even happier that Andy had come to
save him.

"You came!" Ray said softly.

"I did!! I couldn't let them hurt you! I heard you and came running! I even
found a new form, one I had never changed into!"

Ray tried to see what form was he talking about. His fur was an orange
color and had black stripes. On top of his head he had spiky long hair, a
darker shade of orange.

"What form is that?" Ray asked.

"I'm guessing its a weretiger form. Its officially my favorite. Now let's
see if we can fix you up, you have a friend to save."

(Kyle's Fight)

Kyle was having a hard time defending against Caleb's new attacks. They had
increased in strenght. He would swing his arm and a huge shadow hand would
ram against Kyle. Every time Kyle attacked a shadow was lifted from the
floor and protected Caleb. It seemed that the shadow was alive.

Caleb's attacks where also shadow based. He would move his hand towards
Kyle a shadows would rise from the ground and attack him.

"Protego!" A shield formed around Kyle. Caleb started to attack the shield
with every shadow he could summon. Kyle's shield couldn't hold it any
longer and broke.

The blast from the shield breaking was strong enough to break the force
field Caleb had summoned.

Caleb, realizing this, decided to attack full on Kyle who was beginning to
recover from the blast. Caleb ran towards Kyle, shadow sword in hand. He
knew that any attack Kyle would throw would be diverted by his shadows. But
Kyle was not prepared for the attack.

Next thing he knew, Kyle felt a strong jab in his chest. Blood was pouring
from his wound down Caleb's sword and touched his hand. Kyle slowly moved
his hand towards the wound, where the sword had impaled him. With a finger
he gathered a little bit of blood and he moved his hand to Caleb's
chest. The second he touched his chest, where his heart is, something
changed.

Caleb was confused, they where now in a white space. He couldn't see
anything else, just himslef and whiteness.

"What happened??" Caleb asked confused. His voice leaved a faint echo as he
spoke.

"Where am I?"

"We are inside of you!" Caleb could hear Kyle's voice but could not see
him.

"What do you mean? Where are you?" Caleb was frustrated now.

"I'm right here Caleb, no tricks!" Kyle was right next to Caleb dressed in
simple white clothing.

"Where are we??" Caleb asked exasperated.

"I told you! We are inside you!!" Kyle spoke calmly.

"What do you mean??" Caleb asked confused. The confusion allowed Caleb to
calm down.

"This is your heart! As you can see, your heart is white, its still pure. I
can feel the darkness of Razzu trying to corrupt you, but you are not
letting him." Kyle said.

"My heart?? Are you using a psy-spell?" Caleb asked.

"Yeah! One of the few I can perform! Its very difficult to summon and takes
a lot of energy, but its worth it." Kyle said, his words slow and calm.

"Get me out of here!!" Caleb shouted and tried to attack but Kyle just
raised a hand and stopped Caleb.

"Calm down! In here, I have the upper hand, it may be your heart but this
is my realm, because I summoned it. Beside I want to reason with you!"

"Reason with me about what??"

"You must get away from Razzu before its too late. You are still good!"
Kyle said.

"I don't care what you say, I will follow Razzu anywhere. He is my only
hope of become more powerful than any mage in the world!!" Caleb shouted.

"I know you don't believe that, if you ever change your mind, be assured
that you will find a home with us!" Kyle said before fading away, leaving
Caleb alone in the white void.

Quickly Caleb was brought back to reality where Kyle was in front of him
but Caleb's sword was no longer in Kyle's chest. The wound had healed and
Kyle was softly chanting something under his breathe.  Almost immediately
Caleb noticed an orb in Kyle's hand. He tried to destroy it, but it was too
late. Kyle activated the orb.

"Time orb!!" Kyle shouted and a huge energy blast occured, leaving Caleb
confused.

"He used his Psy-spell on me and at the same time, he removed the sword,
healed and summoned a powerful orb! He is good!!" Caleb thought to himself.

Out of nowhere, Kyle appeared right next to Caleb, grabbed him from his
armor and skillfully sent him flying through the air. In mid-air Kyle
reappeared, kicking Caleb down to the ground with an immense force.

While using the Time Orb Kyle could see everything around him, his brother
was on his way, he would tell him to seal Caleb. Kyle knew that by sealing
him, Razzu would not receive more power, which would happen if they kill
Caleb. He also knew Razzu would have no problem breaking the seal, but it
would buy them some time. He could also see Dylan fighting against
Razzu. He knew that Razzu was winning, Dylan hadn't mastered any shadow
spells, and Razzu was almost immune to any other spell. Razzu had the upper
hand, still Dylan was fighting bravely but wouldn't last longer, he needed
to seal Caleb fast in order to help his lover.

Kyle went back to real time, one second after Caleb hit the ground leaving
a crater. He quickly went to give a few more punches, but was intercepted
by Caleb. This surprised Kyle, Caleb shouldn't be able to do it.

"Surprised? You see, I can still see you coming because the second you
appear, you create a shadow, and I feel shadows!!" Caleb said proudly.

Kyle smiled and said, "Can you feel him?" And pointed at Caleb's back.

Standing behind Caleb was Tyler.

"Seal him!!" Kyle shouted.

With 3 movements, Tyler dispatched Caleb's armor. And with fast hand
movements, pressed agains Caleb's back, leaving a blue light wherever he
pressed. Kyle did the same thing but with a blue magic circle on Caleb's
chest.

After they were done, Caleb fainted. At the same time, black fire began to
burn. Kyle and Tyler turned to see that around Razzu, the black fire had
created a circle that started burning everything surrounding it.

"We have to get in there Ty!!!" Kyle said panicking.

"I know!! But its going to be difficult to get through that fire."

"We will have to use our Light weapons!" Kyle said in a serious tone.

"Well we haven't done that in a while!" Tyler said smiling at his
brother. "Let's get in there and save Dylan!"

(Dylan's fight)

"Normal attacks like the ones you are trying to use against me are
futile. You will have to do better than that!!" Razzu said while slowly
walking towards Dylan.

Dylan was afraid and slowly started walking backwards, but still decided to
attack. He created a small fire which he controlled inside of his palm.

"Fire in my hand, grant me your power, grant me your warrior." Dylan said
softly.

Two things occurred. First a fire warrior was summoned which would give
Dylan some time to prepare the second part of the spell, a fire orb.

The fire summon attacked viciously against Razzu. That was one of the main
attributes of fire based spells, Continuous attacks. Razzu had a little bit
more trouble defending against fire based attacks. This gave Dylan time to
charge his fire Orb. He activated it and his light armor changed into a
red, fiery clothes.  It seemed that his clothes were on fire and even his
hair had changed into a red color.

He quickly attacked, releasing fire from his hands.

His movements where different, the orb had given him greater speed. Razzu
was having more trouble defending against the fire attacks. In one strong
kick, Dylan broke Razzu's shadow shield and kicked him directly. Dylan
decided that it was time for his main attack.

He charged up a fireball in his hands.

"Fire Eterna!!" Dylan shouted as he threw the fireball towards Razzu. It
hit him right in the chest, and fell hard to the floor.

"I did it!!" Thought Dylan while jumping in happiness.

"Don't think for a second something like that will kill me". Razzu stood
up, and started healing like nothing had happened." Since about to kill you
I will tell you this, the only way to kill me is with your shadow
sword. But not with normal shadows, with YOUR shadows. What you are using
right now are borrowed shadows, a Shadow Mage's true power lies within."

With this Razzu started creating fire from his hands, but from one hands,
the fire was black with very thin white edges.

"You see the difference don't you?? One is the default shadow so to say,
and the other one is my shadow! I bet you can even feel a difference
between them!"

Dylan couldn't explain it, but it was true the shadow with the white edge
had a different feel, a different density.

Razzu used the fire to surround them, and also to burn down the camp.

"Too bad you will never find your shadow kid! Now die!!" Razzu said
attacking Dylan with his shadow attack.

The attacks cut and bruised Dylan badly, there was no way of defending
himself against these attacks.  He tried once but the shield was destroyed
in seconds.

Dylan was lying on the floor severely wounded, he could barely breathe but
he could see Razzu walking slowly towards him. He knew this could not be
the end.

Razzu knelt besides Dylan and created a shadow dagger. He rose it on top of
Dylan's chest. At the last moment a powerful light appeared behind Razzu.

Kyle and Tyler jumped through the fire and landed skillfully on the
floor. They didn't hesitate. Tyler attacked first. Using two golden Sais he
flew towards Razzu. When Razzu saw the weapons he immediately backed away
from Dylan.

The Sais glowed a bright light. Every time they came close to Razzu, the
shadow surrounding him would dissapear. Kyle appeared right behind Tyler
and as Tyler crouched, Kyle ,using a glowing long sword, send a powerful
light attack. Both Kyle and Tyler started attack both close range and long
range with light attacks.

Razzu was overwhelmed and decided to dissapear. In a shadow frenzy Razzu
flew away taking with him what was left of his companions.

The light weapons disappeared from Kyle and Tyler's hands. They both ran
towards Dylan who was on the ground bleeding.

"We need to get him out of here! This place is not safe and its also coming
apart due to the fire!!" Kyle said.

"Is the barrier still up?" Tyler asked.

Kyle closed his eyes for a second to feel the environment.

"No, it dissolved with Razzu. Go call Andy and Ray, we are leaving now."

"Where are we gonna go that's safe??" Tyler asked his brother who seemed
very deep in thought.

"The only place I know, the Academy. I need to speak with father!"

Well that was a long hiatus. Hopefully I'm back for sure. Life has it
scrazy ways of messing with someone.  Anyway I hope you enjoyed this
chapter. If you had read the story before you notice I didn't change much.
