Wren and I will be leaving for our quest in two days time. We delayed it only because I wanted to spend as much time with my sister as I could. Elle was new to the kind of life we led. I wanted her acclimation to go as smoothly as possible. Nick and his family had been helping. I've never seen Linda so happy. She took to Elle so quickly and has been treating her like a daughter already. Linda and her sisters took Elle on another shopping trip in Merk for everything that she will need; from clothing to ornaments to decorate her room. Nick taught her English, Jan taught her how to cook while Helen taught her how to use her powers to defend herself. I might say she mastered it all with finesse. That was how quick a learner she was. And she enjoyed the attention showered on her even more. On the fifth day I took her to meet father. `What is this place?' She asked. Her eyes opened wide with enthusiasm. `It's called the Memorium. This is where our kin end up when they enter slumber.' I said pointing all around us. `You see those orbs in the honeycomb. Each of them contain the essence of a feres.' The orbs were emitting a soft glow adding to the eeriness of the place. `Are you ready to meet our father?' She stiffly clasped her hands in front of her with excitement as she nodded. I walked up to the altar and repositioned Joen's orb. I heard a small hum as his smoke-like figure slipped out and took form. `Greeting, my son, it is good to see you again.' `Likewise father,' I said. I stepped next to Elle. My father's eyes widened with astonishment. `Mira!' He stammered. `What kind of trickery is this?' Elle blushed and I chuckled. `This is not a trick father. Look closer and you'll see. She's not my mother. She's my sister. She's your daughter.' `Daughter,' he echoed. Joen moved closer to Elle. He smiled kindly at her when he realized I spoke the truth. `My daughter, my beautiful daughter,' he said touching Elle's cheek. I doubt she felt him but she reacted as if she did. She blushed and touched her cheek where he supposedly touched her. I looked from my father to Elle. `Tell me, alessa. What is your story?' In the Tag language, "alessa" means star and also my little princess. Hesitantly, Elle spoke of her childhood, about her life on Feri Court and of how Helledon treated her. My father listened intently as I told him about my visions of her and of her rescue. When we were done a frown appeared on my father's forehead. He was conflicted with emotions. I gave him time to take it all in before I asked. `Father, you have the sight. How come you never saw Elle?' Instead of directly answering me he gazed at Elle. `For years I've been tormented by the ghost of your mother locked up in a dark tower in some unknown location. Looking at it now, I allowed my grief to blind me and mistook you for her. This old fool has seen too many futures. If I had known, I would have come to rescue you myself.' He placed a hand over Elle's heart. `Will you ever forgive me, alessa?' `Of course, father,' Elle said with tears in her eyes. My father wrapped his ghostly arms around her to offer her comfort. I was equally as emotional as Elle. I wiped my eyes and pretended to be fine. `I don't like that he got to name you,' my father said. Joen said "he", which meant Helledon, the man responsible for all our grief. He betrayed my father and his circle, he kidnapped Elle when she was an infant and attempted to murder me on numerous occasions. So it was only logical that my father hated saying his name. `It's not too late. You could choose another name, a feri name if possible. What do you say, alessa?' Elle's eyes sparkled with exhilaration. `I love it when you call me alessa. It makes me sound special, exotic. So, I will like to be called Alessa if that is all right with you and Rye.' Joen and I laughed. `You couldn't have chosen a better suited name, Alessa,' father said. `Alessa. Alessa. I like it but do you think Nickolas will?' I asked Alessa. She blushed for the third time today. I could only imagine what she was thinking. My father laughed even louder when he understood my teasing. We spent a little more time talking about mother and our family. When my father glanced at his memoria, I knew his time was up. Alessa and I stood up when he did. `I enjoyed spending time with the both of you, especially you Alessa. I hope you will come to visit me again. And Rye, good luck on your quest. You will be fine. I know you will, although, I leave you with this little insight. Every one of us has an inner core that shines ten times brighter than the sun. Use it to deter the encroaching darkness.' `Dad! Not another riddle.' My father laughed as he slipped back into his orb. My sister, Nick, Jan and I were at the kitchen table having cookies with tea when Wren, Wain and his girlfriend showed up. Instantly, Alessa jumped up and embraced Lyra. Nick laughed at her. She was acting like a teenage school girl. `Lyra, guess what? My dad asked me to change my name. He called me Alessa when we first met so that's the name I chose. Isn't it beautiful?' `Oh! That's lovely,' Lyra said in the same exited voice and tone before they shrieked. Wren covered his ears and winced. Nick and Wain were staring at the two girls with amorous joy on their faces. Jan was just as happy. She was mimicking the girls' excitement. `Nick said Alessa sounds like a parrot's name. You know the bird from the human realm,' Alessa said. `Ignore him. He's an idiot for saying that,' Lyra said. `I love the man but you're right. He's an idiot. He doesn't know a beautiful thing even if it's right in front of his face. Anyway, let's go to my chamber. I've got some new outfits ...' I could not hear anymore because they went into the hallway. Nick grinned sheepishly as we laughed because of what Alessa said. I did not know why Nick told her that but it served him right for teasing my sister. `Great feri! I'm so glad I'm bonded to you, Rye. Females are so annoying,' Wren said. I laughed and lightly touched his arm. He nodded towards Nick and Wain. `I don't know how they do it but it can't be healthy.' `Look at their faces and you'll see. They are immune.' Wren laughed. He pecked me on the mouth and then stole my cookie. `Rye, my father has requested your presence at his table this evening for dinner. It's a close family dinner and his sons are invited with their significant others.' I cringed. I looked at Wren. `Do I have to attend?' `Yes. You'll offend him if you don't.' I huffed. `When do we leave? How should I dress?' `It's a very formal affair. So dress appropriately,' Wain said taking Alessa's place at the table. Wren drained my cup of tea and stood up. `Come. Let's go take a long bath,' he said wiggling his eyebrows. I followed him to our chamber. He rushed to the bathroom, probably to fill the tub. When I entered the spacious room he was already naked and sitting on the edge of the tub with his hand in the water. `How's the water?' `Let's find out,' He slid in and pulled me in. I giggled when he hit his head on something. `Ouch!' He yelled. I turned to him and pulled his head towards me. `Oh, you poor baby. Let me have a look.' I gently manipulated some water and took away his pain. When I was done I kissed it before releasing him. But he trapped me in his arms before I could move to the other side of the tub. I felt his erection between us and I knew he had sex on his mind. `You're not done,' he cockily said. `You missed the other sore part of me.' `Is that so?' I said playing along. I manipulated the water and reached for his cock. He jerked when I touched him. `Wow,' he smiled showing teeth. Using the water I played with his member. The feeling overpowered him and he jerked splashing water everywhere. It was fun watching him trying to moan and laugh at the same time. His eyes grew big as he clutched at the edge of the tub in pleasure. `Oh shit! Stop, stop, stop. I'm going to cream the water.' I stopped just in time. Wren chuckled and shook his head. Eyes wide and mouth opened, he gazed at me. `That's the most intense feeling I've ever experienced.' `Why did you ask me to stop then?' `I want to do something we both can enjoy, not just me.' He maneuvered me to a position where I was straddling him. He sat up and slid his cock into my butt. Slowly I impaled myself on him. When he was all the way in, he sat up and wrapped his arms around me. `That's more like it.' We kissed while I gently rubbed against him. He was right. This was way more fun. The water in the tub stirred with our movement. The sounds of our love making harmonized with the sloshing we were creating. Too soon, Wren flushed my bowels and I creamed the water. Still inside me, we held onto each other for the longest of time. We slowly came down from our euphoria. Making small talk, we remained soaking in the tub for another half hour. When we finally slipped out we were practically wilting. Already dressed Wren and I waited with Wain in the lounge. Lyra had yet to make an appearance. I could see the nervousness on Wain's face. `Relax brother,' Wren said, `she will come eventually.' Wain looked so formal and handsome. He wore a long sleeve jacket over a thin white cotton-like tunic. It has an oriental style collar with an intricate golden decoration all around. The jacket wrapped around every curve of his body accentuating his firm muscles underneath. The jacket stopped at the waist. His pants also seemed to be made from the same fabric but they were darker in color. The legs were tucked neatly inside the calf-length, tight fitting boots he wore. Wren wore the same outfit; save his was a silver lake blue while Wain's was a Persian red. The decorations on Wren's jacket were silvery. I looked down at my own outfit. It matched Wren's in color but the design was way different. My jacket was cut lower covering the groin area, with a belt around my waist. It was flexible and quite comfortable. I wore the same type of pants and boots as Wren. `Stop comparing, you look handsome?' Wren assured me. I guessed he caught me. I was playing with the medallion around my neck when Lyra entered the lounge. Wain gasped and she blushed. Her hair was pulled back and tied in a bun which showed off her long graceful neck. She looked stunning in her red dress that clung to her curves like a second skin. Tight at the bosom and waist, the dress fanned out like a downward poppy flower covering her feet. A pair of intricately designed golden ear rings dangled from her earlobes. She looked like royalty. `Wow!' Wren and I said in unison. `I dare say, Wain. You'll be the envy of every brother at father's table,' Wren said. Wain pushed out his chest with pride. Then he waltzed up to Lyra and took her hand. He bent down, kissed it and smiled at her. `You look exquisitely lovely tonight Miss Brownwood.' `The same can be said about you, Mister Graylard,' she returned just as formally. Alessa came running in with Lyra's purse. Nick came in after her. `You guys looked like superstars,' Nick said with a whistle. `What's a superstar?' Alessa asked. `I tell you later. Have a nice time you guys. Riley, mind your manners. This is a serious affair. Wren, stay away from firebrew, you're driving tonight, and Cinderella,' he said looking at Lyra, `be back before the clock strike twelve.' `Yes fairy godmother,' I replied. We all laughed even if I was sure most of them did not understand Nick's joke. ... End of chapter 1
