Feel free to email me for any feedback at savingains@gmail.com. It happened the night on my first day of school. Hundreds of faces blurring past, only a few voice specified towards me sputtering useless babble. I managed to make a few friends but most were from the pack. It was rare for any wolves to interact with humans too much. Not saying that it wasn't done, just not a lot. Even so, there were so many people, an overwhelming amount. How could I possibly know which one it was? Father had moved us from Chicago, Illinois to Augusta, Maine to join the Kennebec Tribe. The Alpha was kind enough to accept us. The Tribe was soon becoming our family even if we only moved here a week ago. As a child, I did not have a Tribal upbringing but my parents were sure to raise me as if I had so I was familiar with my role in the community. I kept it from my parents how different I was from the others. No matter what I learned, I did not fit in. But I don't think it was due to the fact that I did not grow up in a pack but more so due to the fact that I was gay. I don't believe they saw me as an equal, more so an abnormality. I wasn't bullied for it as most would think and I was still considered a pack member to the others, but there was always that difference that set me away from them, like a thick brick wall. I'd just have to learn to accept it. One person I met, seemed to glide right past that wall and his name was Milo. Now Milo was a very lively spirit. He didn't care what others thought of him and eventually they grew use to it. That's what he says will happen to me, but I highly doubted that. I think the stretch was too far for me. To be completely honest, a small part of me didn't mind the minor isolation. It gave me time to focus on school and my duties to developing with my wolf. Due to that, my first day at Cony High blew by easily. My Father picked me up from school when the day was over but as I waited I was able to finish what little assignments I had acquired. Most teachers didn't want to dump too huge a load on me my first day, which was surprising, but I was grateful for it. I sighed happily as I witnessed a huge Chevy pick up truck swing by the front. Slinging my bag over my shoulder, I jogged over and slid into the passenger's seat. My Father smiled at me with bright green eyes identical to my own and shaggy brown locks I inherited as well, though his was slicked back and patches of gray were starting to show. He was a tall man at 6"4 while I was a measly 5"8 unfortunately snubbing that gene from my mother who was just under 5"6. I was shorter than most wolves which I imagine will affect me when I finally shift. But I loved my mother to tears, she was a feisty dark haired beauty that only Dad could reign in. But she loved her family and would do anything to protect us. So would my Dad. I felt loved by them even if they didn't know my secret. "How was school?" he asked, swinging out on the road. I plopped my bag on my lap and leaned against the window. "Fine." "Make any new friends?" "Yeah. Milo and Vivienne." "That's great! Are the teacher's nice? They didn't give you too much homework did they?" I shook my head. "They're fine. Generous I guess, but I don't know how long that will last." "Don't be so pessimistic, Raine," My Dad pouted. I chuckled at his expression. "I'm just tired." "That's understandable. You can take a nap and I'll wake you up in time for dinner." I nodded my head and the rest of the drive home was silent. When we pulled into our driveway, I could see mom messing around with the garden out front. Her dark curls were tied up in a messy bun and she looked filthy covered in soil. I hopped out the car and raced up the steps greeting my mother as I passed. I didn't stop until I reached my room. The walls were still barren and the light blue color was starting to unnerve me. It felt so empty and detached, there was nothing comfortable about this space. Instead of napping like my father said, I took the time to cover the walls with my posters of wolves. From every color, to the lightest of grays and darkest of browns. I felt like I was in the forest surrounded by my pack and that's when a content sigh slipped from my lips. It was peaceful now. By the time I had finished, it was nearly dinner time. I decided to shower first. Taking my time under the relaxing pressure of hot water, easing the tension from my muscles, releasing any knots I had. I was out just in time as my Dad popped his head in my room letting me know dinner was ready. I followed him downstairs to the dining room where steak and potatoes were served. After scarfing it down I politely excused myself. The day was long but it felt even longer. Exhaustion hit me like a tidal wave. I stripped down into my boxers and as soon as my head hit the pillow, I was down for the count. And in my dreams is when it started. * * * * There is no way in the world to perfectly describe my discomfort. I felt ill just being in my own skin. There was this itch that was impossible to scratch and it burned. The heat was rising, cooking me from the inside out. Oh God, what's happening to me. I groaned, clutching my stomach in pain. The feeling spread like an infectious disease. The air felt tight and my throat constricted. Sweat dripped down my face to add itself to the puddle that formed along my neck. "Raine? You up yet? It's time for school!" My mother shouted from behind my door. "Mom!" I croaked out to her, instantly regretting it. Just talking burned my throat. I felt like I was dying. Was I? She popped her head in then gasped when she saw my state. Running over to my bed she pressed her hand against my forehead then yelped snatching her hand back. "Michael! Get in here!" Mom called out and in seconds my dad came bustling in. "What? What's wrong?" he panicked. "Look," she whispered gesturing to me. My father's mouth dropped in shock. He felt my arm then pulled his hand away quickly as if it had burned him. "What's...wrong...with...me?" I rasped gulping past my rapid heartbeat threatening to jump from my chest. "You're...in heat." Chapter One "In...heat?" My voice came out as a hoarse whisper. I still hadn't gotten use to the uneasiness I was experiencing since I awoke from the dream. My dream of a pure black wolf... "Yes, Raine. It means that your mate...is near," Dad informed. The look on his face wasn't one of pride, but more of worry. I didn't understand, any other father would be ecstatic their child found their mate. Yet, I've never seen him look so distressed. "Dad?" I choked. Mom patted my arm with a sad smile on her lovely face. I gasped as a wave of nausea washed over me, forcing dry gags from my throat. "Honey, it's usually the females who go into heat. That's why we're a little worried." Oh God, they know. I started to panic and I think my Dad saw it. Something flashed in his eyes that was too quick for me to identify. "We love you, no matter what. Believe that Ray," he told me with nothing but sincerity. I wish I could believe that but I was too scared. This was something bigger than just me, it affected them as well. It would change our lives. And for the better or for the worse, I will never know. "It...hurts..." "Honey, I have a remedy from when I was in heat. It will help you through the day," Mom said patting my arm once more and hurrying out of the room. I looked to my Dad who continued to stare at me. My vision heightened, and I could see every dust particle that flew in front of his face. His heart beat was drumming in my ears much louder than normal. Like obnoxious stomping right beside me, it was driving me crazy. "Dad...please..." He furrowed his brow not sure of what I was getting at, but once I covered my ears, I think he understood then. But his steps were too much. It was all just too much, overwhelming. The wolves on the walls were too bright, my eyes began to burn and water. My skin felt raw as if someone had spent days rubbing sandpaper along it. "I found it!" Mom chirped rushing over to me with a jar of thick yellow fluid. Popping the cap, she stuck her hand inside scooping a large glob of the salve and lightly spreading it against my chest. When the scent wafted into my nostrils, I instantly felt calmer. "Hurry and get dressed! You'll miss the bus!" Slightly aching, I sat up and swung my legs over the edge of the bed wiping the sweat from my brow. Mom smiled and pulled Dad with her out of the room. I can say I felt much better than before, but I couldn't agree that the feeling had gone away completely. It slightly dulled to a manageable irritation but still lingered. I stumbled into the bathroom and took a shower, careful to avoid washing the salve off completely. Dressing in loose skinny jeans and a loose thin t-shirt, I rushed downstairs. Mom applied more before I ran off for the bus. School made it much worse. I don't know what it was but every once in awhile the symptoms would increase tenfold and I nearly puked right in the hall. After school I leaned against my locker, appreciating the cool surface against the back of my neck. I felt myself sweating bullets. Milo came to greet me but froze when he was about four yards away. Discreetly, he took a whiff in my direction and I saw his eyes widen. "It's you!" he screeched marching over. When he reached me, he took another sniff and his eyes rolled to the back of his head for a brief moment, burning a bright yellow. I held my breath and backed away from the animalistic lust that seemed to consume him. It wasn't Milo anymore, it was his wolf. He bent down to my level moving so close, I could feel his warm breath on my lips. But it wasn't him. It wasn't him that my body was searching for, preparing for. I couldn't help but feel nauseous. Milo brushed my hair back behind my ear, closing his eyes and inhaling sharply. "Milo, stop! Don't do this!" I pleaded backing further away from him. I felt like a rabbit trapped by a snake. "Milo!" It was another voice this time. One that rang with authority, one that made me shiver in the most delicious way. I practically moaned, but that didn't help my situation at all. Milo had looked back when his name was called but once I made a sound, his eyes were on me again. "Milo, get off of him." This time it was a command, with the undertone of an Alpha. Milo raised off of me and shook his head, his eyes turning back into their normal blue. He looked shocked. "Oh Ray, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to, he just came out!" He begged for me to understand, his eyes apologetic. "It's...okay," I panted. My heart sped up tenfold and I felt hot. So incredibly hot, it was as if I were on fire, submerged in lava. Past Milo was none other than the Alpha's son himself. Sebastian Hale. No wonder his command leaked the power. He glanced at me taking a whiff himself. "So it's you?" he asked. I averted my gaze, looking down at my hands. "I don't understand, he's a guy," Milo noted. Sebastian cocked his head to the side in curiosity. I saw this when I glanced back up as Milo talked. "You're Raine, right?" God that voice! I moaned, throwing my head back against the lockers, trying to force back the sudden tightness in my jeans. I wanted to cry I was so embarrassed. Here I am, a moaning, sweating mess in front of the Alpha's son. The most gorgeous guy I had ever laid eyes on. From his strong broad shoulders, to his tall muscular body. His strong jaw and full pink lips, steel gray eyes like a fresh storm, sexy, disheveled black locks, made me want to scream. There was no one more attractive then him, that was simply a fact. I nodded to him. "Come with me," he said, offering his huge hand. I lifted my own to take his but as soon as our skin made contact, I was thrown into a world of ecstasy. It was an electric shock that raced through my veins. "Oh my God," Milo gasped covering his mouth with his hand and eyes wide staring at me. Sebastian's eyes grew slightly wider as well, he grabbed me quicker than I could register. It was my body pressed along his that sent me into euphoric heaven. What's happening to me? "Ugh," I moaned squirming in his arms. He came to a sudden stop, letting me down. Grass hugged my bottom like a glove. But the loss of Sebastian's arms around me made me feel cold. I began to shiver convulsively. Sebastian glanced at me with worry. "Raine?" "I'm s-so c-cold." My teeth chattered loudly, and my tail wrapped around my...wait...tail? I peeked down and sure enough I saw a fluffy gray tail with speckles of black sifting through the fur. But how can this happen to me? I wasn't in wolf form! "Your ears too," he informed. I rushed to feel the top of my head and I knew something was wrong. My wolf ears flopped on my head twitching with the dropping temperature. "I'm scared," I whispered, hugging myself. All of this was so new, I didn't know how to comprehend the changes. It was so sudden, so foreign, how would I last? I can't go to school like this. And it wouldn't go away. I tried and tried to push my wolf back but when I opened my eyes, my tail was still there. "Don't be," Sebastian comforted. He sat beside me at the base of a large oak tree. He had taken me to the forest in the back of the school, where I'm sure no one would find us. "What do I do? I'm so cold." Without any hesitation, I felt arms wrap around my waist and suddenly I was being pulled on to his lap with either leg on the side of his hips, straddling his waist. This was such a dangerous position for me. "Seb-" "Shh, I'll keep you warm," he promised wrapping his arms tighter around me pushing my head into his neck where I could inhale his deep minty scent mixed with the pleasant fragrance of the woods. The smell warmed me up instantly, but the calmness didn't last long. As I said, this was a dangerous position. There was no space between us, nothing blocking the intense feeling of his chiseled abs along my stomach, the softness of his groin against my hard one. No lines to decipher where my body started and his ended. And his scent, God his scent, was driving me wild. "I can't," I whimpered, subconsciously rocking my hips against him. Sebastian tensed up, and I regretted my movement, but I couldn't stop, my body had a mind of its own. My ears flattened against my head and tail thrashed about wildly. The heat rose hazardously. The rocking became more frantic until I was practically humping him. "Raine-" "I can't stop. I can't stop!" I cried, moving faster, the desire spreading throughout my limbs. My erection throbbing with longing. I needed him, so bad. I wanted him. "Raine we can't-" "Touch me! Please!" I begged wrapping my arms around his neck rolling my hips against him. I felt him stir downstairs. I threw my head back and howled with lust. This was so bad, but I can't help myself. I can't stop. Something about him just drove me crazy. My wolf and hormones were all whacky without a cure to fix the damage. When he moaned, I knew we were both gone. Sebastian grabbed my hips and met me thrust for thrust. His large erection rubbing against mine created the most lovely friction, I came only seconds later. I whimpered into his neck licking the soft skin there. He groaned, and soon a warm liquid wet the front of my jeans even further. Breathing heavily, we fell against each other. His arms were still tightly around me and I have never felt so safe, so comfortable. And I heard him whisper only one thing. "Mine."
