He only had enough to help get him home, but now he would have to share it. He also had some water for his unicorn, but they were bred to not require a lot. They were a little like camels in that way. He could see that the boy was thirsty, weak, and hurt. He wondered how he ended up here buried in the sand. Who could be so hurtful as to leave a young one behind like this? Young ones were to be treated with loving care. The alien beings must be like the Shkah, he thought. They treated their young as if they were their property; he had even seen Shkah children beaten. However, this was even worse than that. Leaving a young one to die was perhaps the most horrible thing he could imagine. He had no doubt that the alien adults were evil. He lifted the little body of Matthew onto the saddle and then mounted the unicorn himself. He held the boy tightly against him and started the beautiful black unicorn back to the valley. Unicorns could travel fast, although deep sand would slow them down. The man had the unicorn set a fast pace. He would be into the valley in two days going over the North pass route. The Hakaanen man wondered who the little one was and where he had come from. The boy looked so strange with his rounded ears and the lack of a mane down his neck and back. But he had seen that the young one was a boy, looking like the boys in the valley except he had no skin across the head of his penis. They rode until meal time, then he shared his food and water with Matthew. He promised that if he ever found out who had left this little boy behind, they would pay. The man took a water bottle out of his saddle pack, made sure Matthew had plenty to drink, then started up the North pass. Matthew leaned back against the strange man with the pointed ears riding the weird horse with the horn on its snout. The man held him upright to keep him secure on the saddle. Matthew wondered where his friends were. He remembered the storm and the tent getting blown down, he remembered the wind stopped blowing, and he heard voices calling his name, but he thought he was in a dream. Still, he tried to answer, but he could barely make a sound in his sore throat. Matthew ached all over, but he was awake. His leg throbbed and his head hurt, but he'd been rescued from the buried tent and was alive. The strange man talked to him, but Matthew couldn't understand anything the man said. He was scared; he didn't know where he was going or what would happen to him, but he also felt safe in the grasp of the alien man. When the man and the boy came over the last hill into the valley, Matthew was asleep. But he felt the unicorn stop and he opened his eyes. In front of him was a beautiful green valley with blue sky and white clouds. He thought he was either dead and this was heaven, or he really did see a green valley when the "Moonduster" was landing. The man started talking and Matthew could see he was speaking into some kind of a phone or radio. The unicorn took them into the valley, following a well-worn dirt road. They entered a thick forest which thinned out into well-tended farms after a half-hour of slow riding. Matthew saw a cloud of dust ahead and they soon met up with a coach pulled by two unicorns. Two men were riding on the buckboard; both of them sporting manes like the man who had rescued him. The men lifted Matthew into the coach, setting him down on a leather seat. Matthew beckoned his rescuer to the door of the coach. He stretched his arms and gave the man an awkward hug. "Thank you," he croaked, even though he knew the man wouldn't understand him. The man gave Matthew a broad smile, ruffled his hair, and said something unintelligible. Matthew knew what the man's smile meant and he knew that whatever the man had said was something positive. Some behaviors, it seemed, were universal. The coach turned around and started back on the same road. Matthew looked out of the window; seeing houses, people, and animals. All of the people had manes of varying colors, just like the hair of humans had varying colors. Many of the people weren't wearing clothes. A couple of times they met other men riding unicorns or in wagons who stopped to talk. They all took a look through the window at the alien boy who didn't have a mane. They entered a small town and stopped in front of a three-story brick building. One of the coach drivers picked up Matthew and, along with his rescuer, carried him inside and sat him in a wheelchair. Matthew was pleased that his rescuer had stayed with him—it made him feel safe. As he was being wheeled into the building, Matthew knew that these strange people had to be good people from the way they were treating him. Matthew could tell that he was in a hospital. A man clad in a white jacket entered the room. He had what looked like a stethoscope around his neck. Matthew knew the man was a doctor as he once more perceived that some things were universal. The doctor and Matthew's rescuer started up a conversation. While Matthew couldn't understand any of it, he knew they were talking about him. "Well, Mokan, what have you brought me? It looks like a young one, but he looks much different than a Hakaanen child." "This is the boy I radioed you about, doctor. He is not of this planet or any other planet we know of. He is a young one who has been treated badly by his people, left to die in the desert because of his injuries I suspect." "Word is spreading quickly about this young one. There is already much speculation about how he arrived on this planet. This is all very strange. We need to learn how to communicate with him." "I have to think the sonic booms we heard a couple of weeks ago are related to the arrival of this boy." The doctor examined Matthew. Matthew was too tired and hurting too much to object to the poking and prodding. "Well, he seems to be very much the same as us. All the parts are there and in almost the same place. He appears to have a broken leg as well as a possible head injury." They called for his nurse, and soon gave Matthew a complete physical. When he was finished he set to work at resetting Matthew's broken leg. As far as the doctor could tell there was nothing else seriously wrong with the boy except food deprivation and dehydration. For now he would stay in the hospital, but he was going to need a place to stay after he healed. They would need to learn about him and his people. He hoped they could find a way to understand who the boy was, where he came from, and who had so cold bloodedly left him behind to die in the desert. The doctor had Matthew wheeled to an operating room so he could set the boy's broken leg. He was determined that the little alien would get the best care possible. Matthew woke up in a hospital room. He was in a soft bed with clean, crisp sheets. He tried to remember the last time he had been in a bed—it had been on the "Starkeeper". He couldn't remember how long ago that was. Even with a cast on his broken leg, he felt warm and relaxed in the comfortable bed. He soon fell back asleep until a nurse woke him for dinner. Matthew drooled as he smelled the food being brought in. Its aroma was amazing, and it tasted delectable. It was his first meal not warmed in a microwave since he'd been on the "Starkeeper". Matthew almost wanted to cry from happiness. He didn't know much about these people, but there was no doubt that they were giving him special treatment. But, as the evening wore on, he thought about his friends. He wondered if they were still alive, and if they would find this valley, the green one he had seen before the crash of the "Moonduster". He knew many of the boys didn't believe the valley existed, but here he was eating a warm meal in a comfortable bed after being treated by a doctor. He prayed that Mike and Douglas and Scooter and all of his friends would find the rearing horse and the green valley. The one thing Matthew did know was that they weren't on a soft bed with clean sheets eating delicious hot meals and drinking sweet fruit juices. He didn't know why he was left behind, but he was certain he hadn't been abandoned on purpose. He knew the voices he heard had to be his friends looking for him and were not from some dream. He missed them and wanted them back. He fell asleep dreaming of naked boys with pointed ears. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Robert Charles hung on to the man on the unicorn for dear life. The man wasn't quite sure what he had come across. It was a male young one from another planet is all he could figure out. He gave the boy some water. He had come over the pass to sabotage a weather station, but it had been moved again. Instead he found something even better—this alien boy. He was certain the Shkah could use him for something. He rode up the North pass, then turned west and headed for the little valley that the Shkah lived in. Robert Charles had become delirious. The strange man with the mane gave him just enough to keep his mouth wet as he took him into the narrow valley. The man took Robert Charles to a small cabin and placed him on a bed. The man then gave him water and food and left him alone to have a meeting with his fellow Shkah. "So, Bazel, what have you found out in the miserable desert? An interesting prize it looks like." "Yes, Arkron. He came from somewhere other than this pile of rock. There must be a wrecked space ship somewhere and it may have useful machinery as well as weapons— things we can use against the hated Hakaanen fools in the big valley. We must learn to communicate with this young one, he may be able to teach us much. We have waited long enough for action. The time to settle our battle and win back the big valley is near, and your young treasure might have just what we need to get what we want." "Yes, our time is near Bazel. We soon will be ruling the Hakaanen fools. We've been building up our strength for ten years. Maybe the piece we need is something this young one can lead us to." Bazel stood up. "The Shkah will rule soon, great leader." He saluted and walked out, his blue and green mane flopping behind him. By the next day Robert Charles was feeling better. He didn't know a lot about the people who rescued him, but he was surprised to see how poor they were. They had small farms and cabins and not a lot of machines. He expected people who made a colony on a planet to have much more. But it looked like Matthew was right—there really was a green valley. He wondered if Douglas and his group would find it. Probably not since they were weaklings and cowards. They had lost Matthew because of their incompetence. And then Douglas tried to kill him because he knew he was the only one who was strong enough to lead the "Moonduster" boys to safety in the green valley. He sat up on his hard bed as he heard somebody come into the room. It was a boy who looked to be his age. Robert Charles, who was still naked, saw he was wearing only a cloth around his waist and nothing else. The boy gave him some food and some juice. He sat on a chair next to the bed saying nothing as he waited for Robert Charles to eat. He took the dishes away and left a loin cloth behind. Robert Charles took the hint and tied it around his waist. The boy came back later with dinner. The next morning Robert Charles climbed out of bed feeling refreshed. The boy returned with breakfast for him. Robert Charles had no clue what he was eating, but the food was delicious. After Robert Charles finished breakfast, the boy made motions for Robert Charles to follow him. They got into a wagon pulled by a single unicorn and headed up a long, winding road. Robert Charles felt a little nervous. He had no idea where they were going or why they had left the small house. The boy seemed really friendly, however, and once they left the village he took off his loin cloth and was naked. Robert Charles noted that his junk looked just like that of any Earth teen. Robert Charles took off his loin cloth and the two of them rode naked. The boy gave Robert Charles numerous smiles and glances as he drove the cart up the road. Robert Charles wondered if the boy was flirting with him. After a couple of hours they got to the top of a hill. Out ahead of them was a huge green valley, with large lakes, forests, and farms. The giant valley was so large it had to be what Matthew had seen. It looked prosperous, unlike the poor little colony where his rescuers lived. This was getting interesting. The boy pointed to the valley and turned his thumbs down and frowned. Then he pointed back to where he lived and turned his thumbs up and smiled. If all that meant the same that it did on Earth, then the boy was telling him that he and his people were the good guys and whoever lived in the valley were the bad guys. Robert Charles grinned at the boy and nodded, telling him he understood. This looked to be his kind of thing—a conflict to get involved in. He was ready to help his new friends in any way he could. They had rescued him and saved his life. Now he would pay them back. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Matthew woke up in a darkened hospital room. He was feeling so much better. His leg ached, but the rest of him felt good. He wished he had a Vid or a book. He wondered what he was going to do in bed all day other than being bored. A nurse brought Matthew breakfast which he ate greedily. After eating he slept until the doctor woke him up to check on him. The doctor nodded and smiled and uttered strange words in a tone of voice that spoke of bedside manner and soothed the nerves of the young boy. The day was spent eating and sleeping and, at times, being bored. The next morning the room was once again dark when he woke up. He was feeling much stronger than he had the day before. He was even more concerned about being bored and wished there was something for him to do. His restlessness spoke volumes about how quickly he was healing and gaining strength. After finishing breakfast he was too wide awake to nap. He wanted to scream for something to do when he heard the door open. A boy who looked to be around eleven, at least in Earth years, walked in. Matthew could see that he was beautiful. The boy was naked, with golden hair, smooth pointed ears, and a light golden mane of hair that went half way down his back. Matthew looked at his groin and saw that the boy had a small, smooth penis and marble sized testicles that looked exactly like the sexual organs on any normal Earth boy. Other than the light mane growing down his back and the golden hair, the boy was completely hairless, just like Matthew was. He remembered noticing that many of the adults and all of the children he had seen when he rode in the coach had been naked. His rescuer had worn a shirt and short pants, as had the drivers of the coach. However, some of the men who had looked at him during the trip had been naked. The boy started talking to him, but of course Matthew couldn't understand him. The boy pulled back Matthew's blanket and looked at his naked body and smiled. Matthew nodded, hoping it meant yes to the boy, and he was okay with the boy inspecting him— after all, Matthew was getting to see all of the young alien. "Enghar," the boy said pointing to himself. "Un bona Enghar." Matthew watched him and thought, well we have to start somewhere. He pointed to himself and said, "Matthew. Un bona Matthew. My name is Matthew." Matthew smiled and pointed to the boy. "Enghar." Then he pointed to himself. "Matthew." The boy did the same thing. He pointed to Matthew and said, "Mattoo." He couldn't make the th sound in the boy's name. Then he pointed to himself, and said, "Enghar." They both smiled. Enghar went back to pulling down the blankets, revealing Matthew's naked body. He pulled a rubber mat down from a shelf, wrapped some towels around it, and placed his creation under Matthew's body. He then went to the sink and filled a pan with warm soapy water. Matthew surmised that the alien boy's interest in his naked body had to do with an assigned task and was not about sexual curiosity. After getting everything into place, Enghar gently washed Matthew's body. When he got to his dick and balls, Matthew found himself getting hard. Then he was turned over and Enghar washed his back and his ass. Matthew found himself involuntarily humping while the alien boy washed him. Once again Enghar turned Matthew over. He took the towels and mat off of the bed and placed them on the sink. Matthew could see that Enghar had a boner as hard as his own. Enghar pointed to the bed. Matthew nodded yes. Enghar got in, lay next to Matthew and kissed him lightly on the lips. Matthew was stunned by Enghar's action, wondering if the boy was some kind of a sex fiend. But he felt a shiver run through his body as he and the alien boy made full body contact, their warm naked skins rubbing. Matthew was intrigued by Enghar and wanted more. He didn't have the feeling that Enghar was forcing himself—it was more like the golden-haired boy was trying to be a friend to someone he couldn't communicate with. Enghar was gentle and caring, causing Matthew to wonder if this was how boys made friends on this planet. If it was, he was all for it. Matthew opened his mouth and let Enghar's tongue in. First contact was being made between the two alien species, wanting to make friends in a way they both understood. They kissed harder, and deeper, realizing that the other boy, although an alien, had a sweet taste of boy about him. Then Enghar looked at Matthew and pointed down. "Mattoo, et hava Blesow?" Again Matthew nodded yes, as he had a pretty good idea of what the alien boy was asking. Enghar started tonguing him, licking his neck, his shoulders, and then gave special attention to his nipples. He kept licking down until he got to Matthew's navel. Matthew squirmed: he hadn't felt anything like this since his night in bed with Mike. Enghar knew what he was doing—he had obviously done this before. Matthew shivered and shook with sexual excitement as Enghar kept licking him. What an interesting group of aliens, Matthew thought. He is doing this like it happens all the time and isn't anything wrong or harmful. For Matthew the experience was awesome, sexy, and wonderful. Enghar could tell Matthew was enjoying himself, just like any Hakaan boy would. Matthew's race must be like us, he guessed. Enghar had come into the room to make this strange alien boy feel welcome in the best way he knew how. He kept licking Matthew's chest and belly. Matthew groaned with pleasure. Enghar could see that the things that made a Hakaanen feel good made this strange looking boy feel good too. For the first time he licked down to Matthew's hairless pubic area until he started licking the hard hairless dick in front of him. Strange that it doesn't have any skin, Enghar thought—it is as strange as him not having a mane. Enghar moved lower and started licking Matthew's smooth ball sac. There is no difference there, the Hakaan boy thought. His balls were the right size and while they tasted different, the flavor was a pleasant one. Then his tongue moved up the Earth boy's shaft, licking up and down. Matthew squirmed and groaned. Enghar licked up the shaft, and finally licked the naked dick head. Matthew almost howled it felt so good. Enghar let Matthew's small, hairless cocklet slide into his mouth and Matthew moaned again, arched his back, rammed Enghar's mouth, and dry cummed so hard he almost knocked the Hakaan boy off of the bed. Matthew collapsed back down on the bed, breathing hard. He didn't know how his meeting with this sweet, friendly boy had ended up being a sexual encounter, and he didn't care. He'd read fiction stories about first contact between aliens, but none of them had been like this. "Mattoo," Enghar uttered gently with a broad smile that Matthew thought was the most beautiful smile he had ever seen. "Wow, Enghar that was awesome." Enghar pointed to his own hard three inch uncut boy erection. Matthew nodded yes. Because of his cast, Matthew couldn't move easily, so Enghar got up on all fours and hovered over him, easing his erection into Matthew's mouth. Just as he started humping Matthew's mouth, the door opened and the nurse and the doctor came in. Oh, shit, Matthew thought, I'm in trouble now. They're going to kill me. He almost bit Enghar's cock he was so shocked. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Robert Charles followed the Shkah teen across the village. He thought the alien had said his name was Vordkan, but he couldn't be sure and he didn't care all that much. He is an alien after all, and not even human. I just need to play it cool, he thought, and see how all of this can help me. They went into a barn and climbed up a ladder. Robert Charles wasn't sure what was going on this time, but he followed Vordkan wherever he went. He was even learning a few of their words. They climbed up into a loft, and there he saw a gorgeous teen girl. Her hair was light brown, with her pointed ears peeking through. She was naked. She looked like she might be thirteen if she had been an Earth girl. Vordkan pointed at himself and then at her. Robert Charles pointed down to his rising cock. Vordkan nodded yes. Robert Charles walked up to the girl and kissed her. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Matthew woke up in the strange new room. He thought about the day before and how he got here. He remembered the doctor and the nurse walking in while Enghar was humping his mouth with his hard cock. He knew he was dead and knew Enghar was going to be in big trouble. They would kill him for what he was doing. But the doctor and nurse simply smiled, said a few words, and walked back out. Enghar smiled at him like nothing unusual had happened, and pushed his hard little cock back against his mouth. Matthew remembered opening it again and letting Enghar finish what he started. He remembered Enghar firing a couple of drops of cum in his mouth that were the sweetest things he have ever tasted. He wanted to keep it in his mouth forever. He and Enghar cuddled on the bed. He kept wondering if something would happen to him for what he was doing with Enghar, but the adults hadn't seemed surprised or upset by what they had seen. Eventually something did happen. The next morning, the doctor and a lady came into the room with a wheelchair. Enghar followed them in, naked and smiling. They helped Matthew into the wheelchair and then into a car. This surprised Matthew because he had seen carts and carriages pulled by unicorns, but not any powered vehicles. They rode to the edge of the town and then Matthew was placed back into the wheelchair and pushed into a large house. It didn't take him long to figure out that the house belonged to the doctor and the lady, and that Enghar was their son. He wondered how it was they were caught having sex the day before and, instead of being punished for it, he was brought to Enghar's house as a guest. These people behaved much differently than anybody he'd ever heard about on Earth. When he was first taken from the hospital, he was afraid that he was in trouble. But what he and Enghar had done was exactly how Matthew had read it—a way of making friends, and Enghar's parents didn't see it as anything out of the ordinary. Matthew quit feeling self-conscious about being caught in the act and about being naked in Enghar's house. Matthew was given his own room, which he thought must be a guest room. He barely got settled in when Enghar wheeled him into his own room. Enghar showed him some of his games and, using sign language and a few words, he showed Matthew how to play. Pretty soon they were playing like they'd been friends forever. That night Enghar came into the guest room and they enjoyed sex together once again. This time Enghar slept with him. When Matthew woke up in the morning, Enghar was gone. He couldn't get out of bed and he had to pee. So he finally just yelled, "Hello!!!" The lady whom he had surmised was Enghar's mother came into the room with a smile. She helped him out of bed and into the wheelchair. He still had to get used to being naked in front of an adult, especially a female adult, and to the female adult being naked in front of him. He pointed to the bathroom and she laughed. He had no idea how he was going to pee from the wheelchair, but she helped him to stand, and he was able to pee. He was super embarrassed by it, but she was nonplussed. Enghar's mother then pushed him into the dining room where they'd eaten dinner. She brought out a bowl of something that looked like hot oatmeal with purple berries on it. Matthew tasted it very slowly. It was so good and so sweet and he was so hungry that he gobbled down the entire bowl before he could even think of enjoying it. Another bowl was put in front of him. He finished the bowl with a bit more self-control. He also had a glass of delicious fruit juice. Well, he thought, if nothing else the food here sure is beyond delicious. After eating he was wheeled into the living room where some kind of a vid was on for him. He couldn't understand anything that was going on, but it was something to do. He wondered where Enghar was, but as the day went on he thought he probably was in whatever kind of school these people had. At lunch time, Enghar's father came home. Matthew listened to them talk, and even though he didn't understand a word, he knew they were talking about him. "This is so interesting, Katja," the doctor said. "How is that, Lokor?" his wife answered. "They are so much like us. The blood is a little different. The liver is backwards. But they are almost like us. The genetic difference is tiny. It's amazing how alike we are. I mean I could tell what was wrong with him and I was able to fix him. And from what we witnessed between him and Enghar, he is a very healthy boy. I was afraid their society was like the Shkah and forbade sex between boys, but when we found him on the bed with Enghar feeding his penis into his mouth I knew that not to be so. I was so happy to see that, even if we did embarrass the hell out of both of them." He laughed and so did his wife. Matthew liked the sound of the laugh. He liked who he was living with. "Maybe his people aren't as bad as the Shkah, or so Mokan thinks." "How did he get here though?" Katja asked. "How did this wonderful, friendly boy end up buried in the sand on our planet? And what kind of evil people would leave him to die like that? We must find out his story. This young one, Mattoo seems very nice. Enghar is infatuated with the boy and the feeling appears to be mutual." "He must feel very alone," Lokor surmised. "His own people abandoning him and now he is living with people who are strange to him and that do not speak his language. I hope he realizes we like him and that he has a home here with us." "So far only a very few people know about him. We're going to have to tell everyone soon. Enghar has been told not to tell his friends yet. But word is already spreading because he has been seen. I just want him to get to know us first and get him well. Tomorrow he will meet Jarese to start physical therapy." Matthew thought about his lost friends. He hoped desperately that Douglas and the rest of the "Starkeeper" boys could find the valley. He knew that if they didn't they would all end up dying—if they weren't dead already. "What if I end up being the only human left alive here?" he thought. I better start learning their language, because this might end up being home for the rest of my life. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Robert Charles saw the riders arrive. They went into one of the huts. Pretty soon Vordkan summoned him and led him into the hut. The men all pointed to him and said things he couldn't understand. Then one of them got out what looked like a camera. He pointed to a viewer in it. Robert Charles looked in it and gasped. The picture had been taken with a telephoto lens and it showed three naked boys coming down a trail on the side of cliff. He recognized them. At the front was Douglas. Behind him came Scooter and then Stevie. There were some more behind them, but they weren't in focus and he couldn't tell who they were. He stared at the picture of Douglas. He knew just looking at the picture that he hated Douglas with a furious passion. Douglas liked to say he was the leader because the group wanted him as their leader and because he wanted to do what was best for the group. What a bunch of bullshit, Robert Charles thought. He is in it for power just like everybody else. So, Douglas found his fucking precious valley, he thought. Robert Charles looked around him. From what he had learned of his new friends, Robert Charles suspected that finding the valley wouldn't do Douglas and his punk friends much good. He looked at the Shkah men and at Vordkan. He took a piece of paper and pencil. He drew a desert scene and put himself in it. Robert Charles was not a bad artist and had quickly made his point. The Shkah nodded and smiled and talked. He pointed from the camera to the picture and gave a thumbs down gesture. He then pointed at the camera again and gave a throat slashing gesture. Vordkan repeated what Robert Charles showed him. Everybody turned and nodded. Robert Charles smiled and nodded yes. He knew they understood. Vordkan listened to the men for a moment, then made thirteen marks on the paper. Boy are they bad counters, Robert Charles thought. He shook his head no and wrote through one of the marks, leaving twelve. Then he pointed to himself and wrote through another one of the marks leaving eleven. There were thirteen of us when we crash landed, he thought, but how did they know that? With Matthew dead and him exiled, for now, there should only be eleven. But Vordkan made thirteen marks. How did they know about Matthew? That was the only way they could come up with thirteen boys. He had somehow forgotten about the twins. One of the men opened a map. Robert Charles could see it was a map of the large valley. The man pointed to what looked like a town. Then he hammered on it and pounded on it. Robert Charles nodded yes and smiled. Another man brought out a large sword. He pointed to it and then pointed to Robert Charles. Robert Charles thought the man was asking if he could get any weapons. He thought about the "Moonduster." He knew that they had been trying to figure out where the weapons were locked, if there even were any. He was sure that the First Officer said there were, but he never said where. Well, he was ready to take his new friends there to find out. And if they found weapons he had an idea the find would put him on the side that had the power. It would be the start of his revenge. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Enghar came home carrying books. I was right, Matthew thought, he was at a school. He wondered if he would be going there soon. But right then it didn't matter as Enghar wheeled Matthew into his bedroom and helped him onto his bed. Right now the Hakaanen and Earth boys had more important things to take care of than thinking about school, and a deep kiss got things started. Enghar was glad his weekend was starting. He would have three long days with this strange, but wonderful, alien boy who was dropped into his life and become a very special friend. He was going to try to find out how this beautiful creature with the round ears ended up on his home planet. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Douglas and Scooter stepped out into the road, ready to make what they thought was going to be first contact. The Hakaanen boys saw the two Earth boys come out of the forest and stared, startled. Some of the boys decided to run and hide. Only the two oldest boys didn't move. Douglas and Scooter crossed the road and stood looking at the two naked boys, who looked to be their age. "Hello," Scooter said holding his hands out, palms up. "Hello," Douglas said doing the same. The two Hakaanen boys stood there with their arms folded staring at the two strange round-eared boys who had come out of the woods. Behind them six younger boys peered from behind bushes. On the other side of the road, eleven boys were peeking from behind trees. Nobody moved. Nobody knew what to do next. The four boys stood in the middle of the dusty road, different in their looks, but alike in their nakedness and youth, staring at each other. Next: The Big Valley Comments are welcomed.
