Keagan Henderson yelled back angrily. He was tired of this so called holiday in the West Coast town of Saldanha, in Western Province, South Africa. Do this, do that, was all that he heard each and every fucking day! To make matters worse, his uncle Michael ans his son (Keagan's cousin) was making his life hell!! Seth he could still tolerate, but Uncle Michael he couldn't stand! Keagan flushed the toilet and washed his hands, drying them off afterwards. He then left the bathroom and came face to face with his father. "What the hell did you yell at me?" Brian Henderson asked his son quietly and calmly. He wasn't a man for violence nor was he one who was argumentitive with his family or anyone for that matter but these days it felt as if Keagan was testing him every chance he got. "Dad, I was busy taking a piss!" "You swore at me, Keagan. What the hell is going on with you these days? You better started acting your age!" "Or what, Dad? Are you gonna murder me like you did mom?" "You son of a...just get out of my face," Brian said before he turned around and slammed his bedroom door behind him. In his mindseye he saw his beautiful wife once more that afternoon before everything went horribely wrong in the lives of the Henderson family. Janette, his wife and Keagan's mother getting into the car beside her husband, with the then 10 year old Keagan in the backseat. They were on their way to watch Meet the Parents at the cinema, and as the traffic got more crazy, Brian decided to take a longer road to the mall, but at least they would still get there earlier than if they had to be stuck in traffic all afternoon. At an intersection, Brian stopped the car, waiting for the light to turn green, and as it did, a yellow Corsa streamed down towards them and crashed into the passenger side of the Henderson's car. Needless to say, Janette was kill instantly, and from there on, it was just Brian and Keagan on their ownsome. Brian never remarried. He looked around the room of the holiday house they were renting at the West Coast Holiday Resort. Each and every year they come here for the holidays, as Brian grew up in this area as a boy, but for a while Brian wasn't sure they would be coming this year. For one, Keagan had gotten completely out of control. He had turned 16 earlier that year, and done stuff that Brian would never have forseen. He got suspended at school for smoking weed, again for beating up another boy older than him, again for the forgeing of Brian's signature and for the fourth time, because the security of the school found a kitchen knife inside his backpack. Every time Brian attempted to talk to Keagan and find out what was bothering him or why he was doing all of this, Keagan would totally ignore him, and before he knew it, his son would throw Janette's death at him each time they fought, accusing him of it being his fault. Brian really didn't know what more he could do. He wanted to take Keagan to a child pcychologist, which turned out to be the mother of all bad ideas as Keagan ran away from home and was returned by a friendly elderly woman, who found him begging for a ride on the streets. Again, when Brian asked him why he was acting this way, all that Keagan said was: "At least I'm not a murderer like you!" That is why he phoned his brother, Michael, and asked him if he and his son, Seth would like to spend the holidays with them. Michael immediately said yes as the resort was very luxary and well equipped for sporting activities, which Seth loved, aswell as remembering their childhood days as he and Brian grew up in this area before it was remodelled into a Holiday Resort. Brian thought Keagan would calm down and be more like the son he always knew if his uncle and cousin would be around, someone of his own age in Seth, but to no avail. Whilst Brian was in his room pondering over all this, Keagan had walked over to the bar in the main dining room of the resort and ordered a vodka and orange juice. "With all due respect Sir, I'd like to see your ID before I serve you," the barman said satisfactorally. "Dude I'm 18, I'm not gonna show you my ID like some kind of snot nosed kid! I said I want a vodka and orange juice!" Keagan said, getting more angry by the second. "I'm sorry, Sir. I don't believe that you are 18. Order whatever you like from the menu accept alcohol and I'll be more than happy to serve you," the barman said with a laugh. That was it for Keagan. He lunged at the barman, pulling him by his uniform towards him, looking straight into his eyes with a dangerous glimmer in his own. "I said, I want vodka. Now are you gonna give it to me, or shall I take it myself?" Keagan threatned before he felt an arm on his shoulder. "My apologies for my nephew's bad behaviour. I think this should make up for it, and for it to be forgotten," Michael Henderson, Brian's brother and Keagan's uncle said before depositing a 100 dollars into the barman's jacket pocket, smiling at the latter, before directing Keagan outside. "You had no right to do that? Who do you think you are, my fucking father?" Keagan shouted at Michael. People actually stood still to watch this episode play out infront of their eyes. "You little bastard! Im trying to keep you from getting us kicked out of here!" Michael screamed, even louder than Keagan did. "Well nobody forced you and Seth to come here!" Keagan said before turning around and running of towards the beach. Uncle Michael was becoming a gigantic pain in his ass. He saw his cousin Seth coming out of the sparkling ocean water and decided to join him. Seth, who was the same age as Keagan, walked over to his towel and wrapped it around him. As he saw Keagan approaching him, he suddenly turned around and walked away. "Seth! Hey Seth, stop!" Keagan called out, running after Seth when it was clear that the latter wasn't listening or stopping. As Keagan rounded a bend, he saw that Seth was gone, and that he could have gone either way...now was it left or right? He and Seth really needed to talk, especially after what happened between them last December, nearly a full year ago. Keagan chose to go left and indeed, as he walked into the kids's playground, he found Seth sitting on one of the swings. Very quickly, without Seth seeing him, he threw himself into the swing next to Seth, to the utter surprise and shock of the other boy. Just as Seth wanted to get up, Keagan held him back, with a pleading look on his face. "Seth please, we can't go on like this, we're cousins. I love you," Keagan said softly, his eyes losing their fiery temper for the first time in nearly a year. Seth looked at Keagan one more time, and then very nervously sat back down. The two cousins started at the kids playing amongst the different structures such as the sand pit, slides and round - about before Keagan turned to face Seth yet again. "Seth, we need to talk about what happened last December." "What's there to talk about, Keagan?" Seth finally replied. "We haven't talk about it once! Dude, you deleted me from Facebook, you deleted and blocked me from BBM, you refused to come with your dad when he visited us. Was what we did such a trauma for you?" Keagan turned his head away to instead stare at his shoes. He was just giving up hope that Seth would answer him, when he heard the latter's voice. "You wanna know the truth, Keagan? Here's the truth. I liked it, okay? I liked it too much maybe! That's why I've been ignoring you all year. That's why I've done everything in my power to stay away from you, to break all contact. I didn't wanna face the facts that I knew was true, and lose our friendship." Keagan looked over at his cousin, and he was shocked to see Seth angrily wiping a tear from his face, before placing his hands back in his lap. Keagan then kneeled down so that he could look into Seth's eyes. "Come with me," was all he said before jogging off back towards the house. He stopped halfway to make sure Seth was following him, which he was. "Dad? Dad, you here?" Keagan called out as soon as he entered the house. He got angry all over again as he saw his dad enter from his bedroom. "Yeah son?" "Me and Seth are gonna play Playstation for a while. Don't even think of bothering us," Keagan said as he waited to Seth to arrive. When he did, Keagan entered his room, holding the door open for Seth. "Seth, what's going on here?" Brian asked suspiciously, alarmed that Seth was in at whatever Keagan was doing. "Nothing at all, Uncle Brian," he said before entering Keagan's room, after which the latter slammed the door shut and locked it. Brian sighed. He was started to wish they had stayed at home. Keagan turned around to face Seth. The latter was standing with his back to him and he was visably trembling. Keagan's eyes seemed to soften once more as he walked towards Seth. He gently placed his hands on Seth's shoulders, caressing the strong bare flesh he felt underneath his fingers. "Why didn't you tell me?" Keagan whispered, letting his hands slide down towards Seth's arms, feeling the slight hairs and the warmth that Seth's body was giving him. "Fuck dude, are you for real? I couldn't! All year im thinking that the reason you have carried on like this, all the fucked up things I heard you do was because you hated what happened between us and that you couldn't handle it!" Seth said, unable to keep his emotions in check. "Seth, the reason why I have been acting like a bastard all year was because I was afraid of losing you! What we did last Christmas was so fucking special and so real, and so...so perfect. Then you started to avoid me, and I got angry. Fuck, you have known me my whole life, Seth! I never used to be like this!" Keagan said, himself starting to get choked up with emotions. Seth turned around and was suddenly face to face with Keagan. "You didn't hate me?" "Hell no! Fuck Seth, I love you." "What did you say?" Seth whispered, his wet eyes widening. Keagan took Seth's face in his hands and pushed their foreheads together. "I love you, Seth. I don't care that you're a boy or that you're my cousin. I fucking love you, dude. Do you get what I'm saying? Im so freakin in love with you..." Seth threw his arms around Keagan and hugged him tightly. He couldn't believe that Keagan felt the same about him! Keagan closed his eyes while holding the boy he loved and for the first time in nearly a year, he had found peace inside his heart. Seth was the first to pull away from the embrace. He leaned it towards Keagan, and gently placed his lips on his. Keagan remembered a year ago how happy they were after they had done exactly this same gesture, as he pulled Seth closer to him and kissed him back passionately. Seth caressed Keagan's back, so much was the love he had for him. And his smiled couldn't have been more broader, when Keagan whispered over and over in his ear that he loved him. Both cousins held eachother tight. This was real teenage love at its very best. That evening as they were taking a final swim in the dimly lit ocean before it got too dark, both Keagan and Seth could smell the breathtaking aroma of a real South African barbeque, with chops, steaks, boerewors and burgers grilling its way into their noses. Seth looked around to see if anyone was watching, before jumping on Keagan's back and quickly kissing his neck before diving in the water, swimming back to shore. "Dude, are you gonna starve to death tonight?" he screamed at Keagan, seeing as the latter was still floating in the water. "Im coming, Seth! Just wanna chill some more. Not ready to face my dad yet. We had another fight this afternoon," Keagan replied. Seth just shook his head and walked over to the outside shower to spray the excess sand and ocean water off him after he had reached the shore. As Keagan was still laying back, feeling the luke warm water around him, he felt bad after what he had put his father through this past year. Half the time he was just remembering that Seth had "written him off" as he had thought, and blamed himself for the insane situation that he was in of being in love with his own cousin. Who did shit like that? And on top of it all, to realise the fact that he was gay. At first, after the holiday when Seth had started to ignore him, Keagan had tried to hook up with girls. He had even slept with one back in March, but that just confirmed his attraction to guys, not girls. He had to think of Seth the entire time just to maintain his erection for fuck's sake! All those stuff he did at school...all those times he had been suspended...he was so scared that someone might find out he was gay. He had seen over the years what bullies did to gay kids, nerdy kids, even smart kids. That's why he went out of his way to fuck things up. No one would even dare expect that he was gay and craving the love and warmth of his own cousin. Keagan sighed out loud. How could he ever apologise for his father for what he had said to him about his mother? Keagan felt the tears rolling down his face as he remembered how many times he called his dad a murderer. He was in the car that day, it wasn't his dad's fault. But somehow calling his dad that despicable name, made him feel better about being gay. He suddenly looked around him and it dawned on him just how long he had been swaying in the water like this. FUCK!! He was startled when he saw just how far he had floated off into the ocean. He was a good few yards away from the shore. While he was thinking all of this shit of the pat months, he hadn't kept track of the rapiding current. Keagan tried to put his feet down on the ocean floor, but couldn't. Just how fucking far has he gone in? He started to swim back to shore as quick as he could. He could see Seth at the outdoor shower, but somehow it felt as if his sight was beginning to become woozy. It literally felt as if the current was pulling him into the ocean. Keagan started to panic for real and started to kick and flail his arms quicker than before. He saw a bolt of lightning form in the air. FUCK!!! He was soaking wet!! If that lightning decided to hit the water now...Keagan started to scream to Seth for help...but from what he could see, Seth wasn't there any more! He looked over towards his right hand side if there wasn't someone who could help him...wait...where the fuck did the resort go? All that he could see was a open sand heap and trees waving in the howling wind! What the fuck was happening? The flash of lightning suddenly slammed next to him and he felt like he was being ripped from the ocean. Finally he felt solid ground underneath his feet and stood upwards and ran like hell to get out of the water. When he finally got to shore, he saw that his eyes wasn't decieving him. The resort was...GONE!!? Keagan decided to ran to the nearest place he could find for shelter. He saw a building not quite so far from him and bolted for it. When he finally reached the building he immediately took cover from the lighting, which was still illuminating the night sky with his breaktaking bolts of electricity. Keagan leaned against he wall and closed his eyes. What the fuck was going on? How far exactly did the current take him? Because he couldn't see the resort at all...and the resort was huge as fuck! He finally open his eyes, only to see the moon peacefully shining over the ocean water, making more bright than it really was. It was as if there was never a thunder storm just seconds ago. He turned around, hoping to see some way to get back to his dad, Seth and Uncle Michael, when he heard a voice behind him. "What are you doing there, boy? You must be the one stealing my chickens all this time! If I get my hands on you..." A man. A very large man started charging towards Keagan, which made the latter run like hell to get away. Not noticing where he was going, he ran smack bang into another person, and fell onto the ground. The last thing he could remember was a scorching pain at the back of his head before darkness overtook him. *** Keagan opened his eyes. He fully expected to find that this whole entire fucked up ordeal had just been a awful disgusting nightmare...but he was wrong. He was in a strange room and look way out of the modern era that he was used to. He was still to weak to get up, but he managed to lift his head upwards an inch or two. What the fuck...stuff that looked ancient crowded the room, aswell as materials and furniture that surely needed an upgrade! Keagan forced himself through the throbbing pain in his head to get up, closing his eyes for a minute, and opening them again FAST, hoping the image would dissapear or that he would wake up, but nothing happened or changed. Just as he wanted to scream with frustration, the door of the room opened and a teenage boy entered. Keagan gaped at him. Apart from wearing clothes that would be a hit on the Antique Roadshow, and his hair combed in a really geekish way, this was easily the sexiest, most beautiful boy Keagan had EVER seen! He felt guilty thinking these thoughts, keeping Seth in mind, but it was true! The boy then turned around, seeing Keagan standing up looking right at him. "Man, what are you doing up? Get back into the bed!" "Yeah? Fucking make me!" Keagan responded. He didn't care how hot this guy was, he was not gonna order him around. "Fine, if you want further concussion, that's your business. I just came to see if you were ready to eat something." "If im allowed to, I think i'd be heading on back to the resort, thanks," Keagan said sarcastically before walking towards to the door. "What resort, dude?" the guy asked, clearly confused. Keagan just shook his head and walked out. As he walked through the house, down the stairs, he felt like he had stepped into the Twilight Zone. How the hell do these people live like this? Someone should tell them its 2012! Just before he reached the end of the stairs, the boy came running past him, skipping the stairs three at a time. "Look man, I really don't think you should go out in your condition," he said, clearly worried. "Look bro, out of my way. I have to get back to the resort, my dad and cousin are probably wondering where I am," Keagan replied, looking for a way past the guy who was blocking him. "Dude, what resort are you talking about? There's no such thing around here!" the guy said, frowning as he did so. Just then a older man stepped into the room, holding a newspaper in his hand. "Ah, our guest is awake! Son, did you ask him if he wanted to join us for dinner?" "Yes Dad, but he doesn't want to. He keeps talking about this resort place." "Boy, are you sure you're not concussed? The nearest resort around here is in Cape Town," the man replied, coming foward, placing his hand on Keagan's forehead. "Im fine! JEEZ! Can someone just tell me where I am?" Keagan shouted. "You're in Saldanha ofcourse," the man told him. Just as Keagan wanted to tell him the Saldanha he knew could never in a million years look like this, it was then that Keagan's eye fell across the newspaper in the man's hand. More specifically...the date on the front page. Keagan jumped forward and grabbed the paper from the man. No...no...this must be some kind of a fucking sick dream! The date remained the same on the paper. "19 December 1992" "Boy, I know you knocked your head pretty badly, but didn't your mother teach you manners at all?" the man grunted, snatching the paper back from Keagan. "This is not normal..." Keagan whispered, before turning around and looking at all the furniture, the clothers that the guy and his dad wore, the music that was coming from in the house...and suddenly he felt faint. "Who are you people?" was all he could get out. "Well I'm Xavier Henderson and this is my son, Brian." "Brian...Brian...Henderson?" Keagan whispered before his body decided to give in, as he blacked out yet again. THANKS FOR READING!! Seems like somehow Keagan has gone back in time!
