Aaron's Motorcycle

By Remmy Meggs

Chapter 6

I was at the kitchen table eating when I heard the knock on the door. Since I was in my underwear mom answered it. To our surprise it was Brandon. He came in and mom asked him if he wanted breakfast. Sure he did. He came into the kitchen and gave me a wedgie. (Pulling my underwear up so high it stuck in my behind crack.) While he poured cereal and milk for himself, I pulled them back down and put them back in place. He grinned and sat across from me. "You sleep late; it's been daylight for over an hour."

I looked at the clock, it was only 7 am. He continued, "Most the other kids are at the park already. I hear you gave Bulger a fat lip and bloodied his nose."

Mom came around a corner, "Yes, well even if he did how did you hear about it already?"

Brandon swallowed before he answered, "It's Sunday. He doesn't get a lot of free time; he was at the park already. No one gives Bulger a fat lip, he don't hold still long enough for someone to hit him, so we were all over him until he told us."

I didn't answer I just continued until I finished, then put the bowl and spoon in the sink. I got out the orange juice and poured myself a glass and sat back down, "He didn't hit back, it was kind of one-sided."

Brandon frowned, "He didn't tell us that part. Why did you beat him up?"

"Cause he was a jerk." I didn't have the words to express exactly how I felt.

"Bulger a jerk?" Brandon was surprised, "Well, let me know if I am ever being a jerk, I don't want to end up looking like him!"

I laughed, "Did you hear Ralph moved away?"

"There were rumors, but it spread like wildfire why he moved away. No one knows it was about you though. So exactly why did you beat up Bulger?"

Mom frowned and turned to us, "It was a misunderstanding and Aaron was a gentleman about it and didn't hit someone back that was smaller than him."

"Some misunderstanding." Brandon said as he finished eating. He stood with his bowl and spoon and rinsed them and mine out in the sink, "Why don't you clean up and come to the park with me. I told everyone I could come and get you." Then he turned to mom, "IF that is alright with you Mrs. Conroy."

"His chores are done and he says his homework is done, so I don't see any reason he can't, if he wants to go."

Brandon stood up and slapped the table, "Good let's get you dressed." He said as he grabbed my hand and led me up the stairs, down the hall into my room."

I looked at him odd since he was staring at me, "Are you gonna watch me dress?"

"I have seen everything you have at the beach. You don't interest me in the least bit."

"So why are you watching me?" I asked.

"I am still wondering how you got away beating on Bulger and him not fighting back at least to protect himself."

"Oh. You want to know everything I guess." I said as I got into my dresser and pulled out a white and blue sun suit. Then I found matching socks and threw them all on the bed and went to the closet to find matching shoes. It was quiet while I did this. I finally found them way in the back of the closet and sat on the bed.

"Well tell me!" he ordered.

I pulled my underwear off and put clean ones on, "He really pissed me off."

"I can tell." Brandon laughed.

"We were sitting at the table at his house and every time I looked at him I got even madder. Then I snapped and slid across the table, knocked him off the chair and I sat on him and kept hitting him." I explained.

"You did this at the mansion? Wow!"

"Yea pretty stupid I guess."

"What was it like?"

"Well I really didn't want him hurt but I have to say it felt good to let him know how I feel." I answered.

Brandon frowned, "Not about beating him up, how was the mansion? None of us have ever been in there."

"A lot of wasted space, but it is big and beautiful, and they have an elevator, an indoor pool, an outdoor pool and half the house is on stilts overlooking a lake that is up there."

"Wow!"

I finished dressing and sat on the bed, "Strings, can you love someone deep with everything you have and not have sex?"

"You are not talking about my sister are you?"

I frowned. He looked at me funny, "Oh you mean Bulger. You are idolizing him, you will get over it. I think all boys have a crush on another boy at some point. I did, I never thought of sex though either. I just wanted to be with them all the time. I think you are pretty normal for a priss."

We both laughed and headed downstairs and out the door after giving mom and a half awake dad a kiss. "So what are you going to do about Bulger? You are all he talks about except when he has to talk about club business."

"Maybe I should let him suffer awhile." I answered.

"Ya Davy that will really crush him, you can get him good doing that. Go to the parties, ignore him, tear him up inside. Kiss on Kelly or even Kristen, wiggle that bubble butt of yours around, draw attention to yourself, and make him miserable. Even hang around me or one of the older guys, ya, an older guy would be even better, that way it will grind into him and make him nuts." Brandon smiled.

I didn't smile, "You think I am wrong?"

"Duh. You do what you want. Even if I don't like what you do, I will stand beside you. You should really think about it though. He is your big brother now whether he screwed up or not. I lost my big brother. He was my hero. Every day I can feel his arms around me, kissing my hair and just holding me tight and telling me everything is going to be alright."

I stopped at the edge of the park and looked him in the eyes, "But everything is not going to be alright is it Strings? That is just words that don't mean a thing, like a fairy story. It is supposed to make you feel good right then, but it wears off and then you are empty."

A tear rolled down Brandon's cheek. He wiped it off with the back of his arm, "No, it will never be alright. It is all a lie, but we have to deal with it anyway."

I grabbed his arm and we walked into the park. The parking lot went around the entire park, enough room for maybe hundreds if not thousands of vehicles. This time of the morning it was pretty barren. There were areas for games, picnic areas, a huge playground with everything a four to fifteen year old could want, although I had never seen anyone over fourteen on the stuff. There were soccer areas, baseball areas, even a partial football area for younger kids. Badminton, tennis and several volleyball courts were there.

There was a pond full of ducks and geese that you weren't allowed to swim in, and a public swimming pool that opened early during the summer for lessons but only after school in during the school year. Groundskeepers and maintenance men were busy from 9 am to 9 pm seven days a week keeping it sharp-looking. Many of them were volunteers but they wore t-shirts or jackets that told everyone they were part of the staff.

Brandon saw the other kids and waved, we both ran up to the table. Kelly and Kristen were there along with some other kids I had never met. It was immediately clear by how they were introduced that they weren't apart of the club, but a couple of them were. We sat down and joined them, "For lunch we have friend chicken and whipped potatoes and corn. Kelly and I made it this morning, but it's in the truck in a heater for later."

Since none of us were old enough to drive I looked around until I saw two prospects messing around with each other, "How did you get them away from the club without their motorcycles?"

Kelly laughed, "I just asked if anyone wanted to go to the beach today. They volunteered to help and dad let them. They still won't say much to us unless they really have to, but it's nice to have big guys around to do the heavy work." Then she smiled, "Bulger and the other guys went to the sheriff's office. One of the guys got busted for fighting last night. They have to get him out of jail but they will be back in a little while."

I didn't think I was that obvious wanting to know where he was at but I said nothing. Brandon and I sat and the conversation turned to teen and preteen talk of school, girls, boys, sex and who is hot and who is not. The other four boys and girls at the table were just as fun as our school mates and the group was enjoying the time we had together.

Then we heard the motorcycles coming and I jump up from the table and started going to the parking lot. One of the prospects grabbed my arm, "That's not our bikes." Is all he said.

I looked at Brandon, and he explained, "The club bikes are always tuned up perfectly. Those bikes are not well taken care of. You can hear the difference once you get used to it."

Eight motorcycles rode over the curb and onto the grass. They stopped near a fire pit and shut down.  The riders had beer and were already half drunk. They sat on the logs around the fire pit and really didn't pay attention to us, until they saw the prospects. They all looked over at us, and then turned back to their own little party.

The club prospects were dutifully on guard. We really didn't pay attention; we were all in good hands. Although Brandon seemed a bit nervous, I didn't ask him why. Then more motorcycle engines could be heard. Brandon smiled in relief, "That's our bikes, can you hear the difference?"

I nodded but really I didn't hear a difference at all. But you could see the difference. The four bikes that parked in the parking lot were low, lean and all had extended front ends. I saw Aaron and as angry as I still was, I got up and started running for him. Brandon grabbed my arm and I pulled loose and kept going. I jumped up on Aaron and held him tight around the neck and his waist. He hugged me back and rocked my from side to side, "Are you still mad at me?" He asked.

"Yes but I will get over it." I answered as he walked over to the table with the other kids.

The eight guys around the fire pit stood up and started coming toward us. We were halfway to Brandon and the others. Flash, Scooter, Burner and Aaron stopped and waited for the other group to come up. A well-built guy with black hair and a tinge of grey on his temple smiled, "We are not here for any trouble, and we just wanted to get away from the club house for a while."

"No problem bro, have a good time." Flash said as we continued to the table.

"Bulger has a bulge in his pants, that must be his little sex toy." One of them said, "A little girl with a cute little ass, I bet Bulger is fucking her every hour."

Flash put a hand on Bulger's shoulder, "Let it go bro."

Aaron set me down at the table, "Prospects, take the kids to the playground."

I looked up at Aaron and saw his eyes glazed and that thin line smile. I grabbed his hand and wouldn't let loose, "No Aaron, please don't if mom finds out we will both be in trouble, bad trouble."

"Awe." The man said, "Little sister is trying to protect her big brother from mommy and daddy."

Aaron broke loose from my hand and a prospect grabbed me from behind and ran off with me.

We were sitting in the playground area for little kids... like me I suppose. It seemed like it was just yesterday that I was on the slide. Brandon and Jeff had gone to the convenience store and picked up a case of loose cold pop and a small cooler with ice in it. A prospect was holding me, not tightly but tight enough that if I tried to run he would have me on the ground.

Brandon handed me a lemon lime cola, "Anything else is bad for you. You can ask Doc about that."

Kelly patted my arm, "You really have to settle down, we warned you about times like these."

We listened as more motorcycles could be heard nearing the picnic tables. "That will be part of our group. It was seconds later we heard an ambulance nearing the same area. Then police sirens. I tried to escape but I was thrown to the ground with the prospect sitting on me, but lightly. I was yelling for him to get off. One of the other parents came over and looked at the situation, "What are you doing to that boy?"

The prospect bit his lip. Kelly offered, "He is trying to get to his big brother. Billy was told to hold him until he got back. Davy got belligerent so Billy is holding him down until then. You should mind your own business; no one here is getting hurt. It is just a boy throwing a temper tantrum. Notice we are all friends and none of us are worried about anything."

I settled some and Billy stood up, still holding me. He turned to the man, "He will be fine."

I sat on the bench grinding my teeth. Then Aaron and some of the others came walking up. I jumped up and hugged him, "Why do you scare me like that?" I asked. Then I looked over his bare arms and chest, and mostly his face. There wasn't a mark on him. I took a deep breath. "Fine you are alright this time, but if mom found out we would both be in trouble."

Aaron looked up at the man who would have saved me, "Can I help you?"

"I just wanted to make sure the boy was all right." The man said, "I have children of my own and as a parent I worried."

Aaron thanked the man, "He is just fine. If he doesn't get his way about things he gets fussy like most little brothers."

They shook hands and the man walked away telling me `You shouldn't lose your temper so easily.' When he was out of earshot the others snickered at me.

"I want to go home." I said.

"The police are over there taking names. You really want me to walk us all right by them?" Aaron asked, "Besides we are going to the beach I thought, and I need to talk to you."

We sat there over an hour talking about different things, avoiding the fight I am sure Aaron was in. A prospect came running over, "They are gone now."

We walked back to the bikes. Flash grinned, "We will race you to the beach!" He snapped as the guys trotted to their motorcycles.

Kelly started running followed by the rest of us, "Follow me I know a shortcut."

She actually did know a shortcut, one I wouldn't have taken on my own. It had obstacles, dangerous ones. Yet we managed to get to the beach almost five minutes before the club got there. Everyone but me was already in their bathing suits when the club arrived. Even though Brandon said no one would know the difference in my underwear from a swimsuit, I would. That bugged me. When Aaron explained that it would be better to go home with wet underwear than a wet sun suit, he talked me out of my outer clothes and I jumped in the water and had fun. I thought to myself how easy it was to do that, but I realized I was more afraid of ruining my sun suit, than I was of ruining my underwear.

The afternoon went smooth and fun, although Aaron stayed in the shade a lot so he wouldn't get tan lines. Even the old bikers had swim trunks and went in the water. Thank goodness they weren't wearing speedos. The cars and trucks starting showing up, the women in the club joined us all carrying food and goodies, some of us kids helped without being asked, but the prospects brought down the cold watermelons and cantaloupes, which everyone devoured.  At dusk Aaron said it was time for me to get home. He put me on his bike and we rode away slow.

We never did get to talk, but he told me he was alright, and he and his mom would come over to my house after school. I didn't know what for, but I could barely wait to hear what would be said.
