So bad that I thought my teeth would start to float. I jumped out of the bed and hurried to the bathroom to relieve myself. When I got back to my room, I looked at my clock radio, it was 5:45am. I knew that grandpa and dad would already out side working in the trees by this time. Also looking out the window I could see that it was going to be a pretty clear day. I was glad that the weather was warming up, I'm just not a winter person. It gets dark to fast in the winter, and I really don't like it when it's dark by 4:30 in the afternoon. I decided to just get ready for school, there were a lot of things that I had to sort out in my mind. Once back in the bathroom, I jumped in the shower and did my thing. After rinsing off the last of the soap, I was wishing that Ronald were here for me to hug and hold. I got dressed and headed down stairs to the kitchen, where I knew mom would be. On my way I pasted Ronald's room at the bottom of the stairs, his door was closed, so I kept walking towards the kitchen. "Hi sweetie, you're up early today. You feeling all right?" Mom asked, as I walked into the kitchen. "Yeah, I'm fine, I just had to go to the bathroom really bad, and decided not to go back to bed," I told her, as I sat at the breakfast bar. "Well, those things happen," she said. Just then dad walked out of their bedroom, just wearing his underwear. "Hi son, what are you doing up so early?" He asked. Mom told him, why I was up already. "How come your not out in the orchard this morning?" I asked. "Your grandpa and I finished all of the weed spraying yesterday. So today, we thought we try to fix that old cherry picker," dad said. "Oh," I said. Actually that was more information then I really wanted to know, but I was glad to see dad in the morning sometimes. "What do you two men want for breakfast this morning?" Mom asked. "Pancakes and scrambled egg with Velveeta cheese," I said to her before dad could say anything. "I guess the decision has been made," dad said with a smile. "Okay, that sounds fine to me," mom said, getting out the electric pan. "Don't forget the orange juice, we got to have orange juice," I said with a little happiness in my voice. "Yes Arren, I know about the orange juice. Don't I always have your juice for you every morning?" Mom asked. "Well, there was that one time about three years ago when we ran out, and..." I was joking with her. Mom just stood there and gave me `THE LOOK'; you know what I mean? Then she shook her head and then continued to make breakfast. "So son, what do you have planed for today?" Dad asked. "Well, I thought I'd hang out with you a grandpa all day long," I said. "Hey, this is only Thursday, and you have school today young man," mom informed dad, but she was looking at me. "Nice try son," dad was grinning at me. "I know," I said. "But you can't blame me for trying." Mom said that it would be easier to eat at the dinning room table, so we moved. Dad and I helped, by setting the table for everyone. Then mom and dad started talking about this and that for about five minutes, before Ronald came in. My heart jumped a beat when I saw him. He looked at me and just smiled, I smiled too, and then he sat next to me. I wanted to give him a super great big bear hug, but I contained myself, although I did scoot my chair a little closer to his. He just smiled and discreetly rubbed my back a little. Breakfast was just about ready when we heard Karen coming down the stairs. "Grab a seat dear, breakfast is almost ready," mom told her. "No thanks mom, just toast and juice for me," she said. "I'm running a little behind today. Stacy and I are meeting Jill at school this morning. Were going to apply for jobs at the strawberry plant, their taking applications today and tomorrow, for part time work after school. If we get it, it'll be from 4 to 6:30 five days a week, and a six hour day for Saturday." "What about Sunday?" Ronald asked. "I guess they're closed on Sundays," she said. "Wont this job interfere with all your talking time on the phone," dad said jokingly. "Mother? Would you please talked to your husband?" Karen said trying to sound annoyed. "Allen, leave your daughter alone," mom said to dad with a smile. "Yes dear," dad replied. Mom finished breakfast, and we all ate without too much nitpicking. It just seems that dad can't help himself, he will start something just to make life a little more interesting. We all know that he does it out of love, but just once I would like to make it though a meal without dad doing something. With breakfast done, Karen left when Stacy showed up. Dad went into the bedroom to dress for the days work with grandpa. I was getting ready to leave myself, when Ronald asked me if I wanted a ride, I jump at the opportunely. We got into his truck and we were off. I moved over as close as I could get to him, and hug on his arm. He just rapped his arm around me and smiled, but I could tell he had something on his mind. "Arren?" He said. "Yes Ronald," I said, hugging him a little tighter. "About last night. Are you okay with what we did?" He asked me. "Oh yes, I loved what we did, and I want to do it lots more," I said. "That's just it, I'm not so sure that you and I should be doing things like that," he said. "Why not?" I said just a little upset. "Were not hurting anybody." "I know, but I just don't feel right about taking advantage of you like that, I got caught up in the moment, and you know, one thing lead to another," he said. Before I could say anything he pulled up to my school, and stopped his truck and turned off the engine. "Look Arren, I love you vary much," he began. "You're the best little brother that anyone could ever wish for. I just don't want to do something to you that's going to hurt you." Ronald could see that I was getting upset, so he just hugged me real close. I could feel the tears dripping down my face, and I felt a huge lump in my throat. "Are you mad at me Ronald?" I choke out. "No baby. Why would I be mad at you?" He said, I could tell that he was a little choked up also. "Because of the sex questions that I asked you about yesterday," I said, wiping the tears from my face. "If I haven't come to you, none of this would have happen." "Arren, the only thing that you can blame is your curiosity to learn," he said, and then he hugged me a little tighter. "The world is a great big place, and you'll learn so much over your life time. Even I haven't got all the answers to the questions that you'll asked me. I'm still learning myself, and believe me baby, I have a lot to learn." "Does this mean that you and me..." I started to sob a little harder. "I didn't want this to happen to you Arren. You see I did hurt you," he was crying, and pulled me closer to him. We were still hugging when the bell rang. I knew that Tony was wondering where I was, but at this time I didn't want to let go of Ronald's embrace. "Come on Arren, lets get out of here, we need to spend the day together, just you and me," Ronald said. "What about going to school?" I asked not letting go of him; I now had my left ear on his chest and my eyes were closed. I could hear his heart beating. "Never mind about school today, I'm sure there not going to teach everything today. And it won't kill you not to go for just one day," he said. "What about mom and dad? Won't they be mad that we didn't go?" I asked. "Well, what they don't know won't hurt them. Besides, if you don't say anything, then I won't either," he said and he kissed me on the forehead. What he said made me feel a little better, and I thought the part about `teaching everything today' was funny, so I told him to drive on. He took me to the next town up north, the one about twelve miles from are little town. We spent all day together, talking and just playing around. Ronald and I had lunch at one of the small restaurants their. It was the first time that I have ever been in this one. Most of the time, we just go to one of those fast food places, but not this time. It was the best day that I have ever had with MY BIG BROTHER, and I love him vary, vary much. We arrived at home about three o'clock that after noon. We just talked and hung out for the rest of the day. We sat close to each other at dinner also. Mom and dad probably thought that we robbed a bank and got away with it or something by the way we were acting. But I could tell that they approved of this type of behavior then having their kids killing each other. I have to emit that I liked it too. Ronald and I never had sex again; in the long run we both knew that it was for the best. Although, if I ever had a question or a problem, he said that he was always going to be there for me. That was a really nice secure feeling knowing that. He also told me to trust mom and dad a little more, they would help me out in anyway they could. I knew that they would, but I liked going Ronald more, and he knew it as well. The next morning I did what I had to do, and was on my way out the door. Ronald asked if I wanted a ride to school, of course I did. We were on our way down the road, when he gave me a peace of paper. "What's this?" I asked. "That's a note, excusing you from school yesterday. It's says that the reason you weren't there was a family problem. Which it is the truth." Ronald explained to me. "You were with me, and I am part of your family. So if there is any problem, you just let me know and I'll talk to your teacher." "I don't think there will be any problems," I said to him. "Most of the time, my teacher doesn't even read the notes that the kids bring her." "Okay cool," he said. "Now, what about your friend Tommy?" "You mean Tony?" I asked. "Yeah, Tony. What are you going to tell him?" He wanted to know. "Are you talking about the sex stuff?" I asked him. "Yes," he said. "I'll tell him what you told me about the jerking off part, but I won't tell him about what you and I did," I said to him. "As far as I'm concerned, that's is just between you and me." Ronald pulled up to the school and parked his truck, and then reached over and pulled me to him. Then he kissed me on the tip of my nose. "You know something Arren?" He asked me. "What," I said. "I love you more then words can say," he said. "I know, I love you too," I said with a big smile on my face. "Okay baby, get going, I'll see you this afternoon," he said to me. "Bye Ronald, I love you," I said getting out of the truck. Ronald watched me walk up to the school for a minute, and then he drove off. I was sure he was happy that I was okay. "Hi there," someone said behind me. I turned around and saw that it was Tony. "Oh hi Tony," I said. "I looked for you all over yesterday, but you weren't here. Were you sick?" He said. "No, I just had a small family problem, that's why I wasn't here," I told him. "By the way, I talked to my brother, and he explained everything to me that we wanted to know," "Cool. Tell me everything after school, will you?" He asked. "You got it," I said. We went over to the swing set and goofed off until the bell rang. I could tell that Tony wanted to know everything I knew, RIGHT NOW. But he said after school, so I said nothing to him about it all during school hours. I gave my teacher the note that Ronald gave to me; she just glanced at it and put it in her desk with the other two that she got from the kids that were not here yesterday also. The rest of school went just fine, except for a math test that we took. I know I did okay, but I was hoping that they would have done it yesterday when I wasn't here. Sometimes life just doesn't work out the way you want it to, what a sewer sandwich. -------------------- This is the conclusion of Chapter 3 - The Good and the Bad
