I didn't have any other classes with Jamie, and only saw him in the halls between class. I'd learned his schedule in the beginning of the year so that I could 'accidentally' run into him when going to my classes. I spend most of my school days hanging out with my other friends in class and day dreaming. The downside to having my first period with Jamie is that afterwards he's all I can think about for hours... certainly not algebra! After school I had soccer practice. The field was pretty close to my house, so afterwards I didn't wait for a ride, not that one was coming anyway, and instead just raced home. I was in a rush to get home so I could call up Jamie to go chill at the beach. It was a Friday after all, and some of the guys were meeting at the beach. I threw my stuff down on the front porch and went inside, going directly to my room to avoid running into Jackson. Unfortunately though, sometimes you just can't get away. As I rounded the corner to the hallway I ran right into him with a thud. He pushed me to the floor. "What the fuck do you think you're doin' you little fuck", he growled. I could tell he was drunk, no surprise there. "I... I'm sorry Jackson, I didn't know you were there", I mumbled quietly, not looking him in the eyes. When he got like this it was better not to do anything he could use as an excuse to flip. "You bet you're sorry. Fuckin' brat how many times I have to tell you to learn some fuckin' manners?", he retorted, though it obviously wasn't a question. With that he grabbed me by the neck of my t-shirt and ripped me up to my feet. I started sobbing, helpless against this giant asshole. He threw me against the wall and then backhanded me across the face. I collapsed against the floor crying harder as he kicked me a few times in the ribs. Finally he just spit on the floor next to my head, gave me a final painful jab to the ribs, and walked off down the hall muttering and cursing. I could taste blood coming from my mouth, and my body hurt so bad all I could do was curl into a ball on the floor and sob pitifully. Eventually I mustered up the strength to crawl to my room where I layed in my bed crying until I finally passed out. When I woke up I had a bad bruise near my mouth and several bruises all over my torso. It hurt to roll over. the first thing I noticed through puffy eyes was that the alarm clock said 7:34 in the evening. The second stopped my heart cold; I turned to look right into the face of none other than Jamie! I was so shocked I couldn't even begin to speak, I just stared open-mouthed for a second then stuttered a little over a hello. I sounded so stupid. Finally, I managed to get an actual word out. "Dude! What are you doing here?," I asked, coughing a little with that last word, "Aren't you supposed to be chilling with the guys at the beach?" He looked relieved that I was talking. "Jesus Christ Alex, what the fuck happened to you? I came by as your dad was driving off.. the door was still hanging open... you weren't picking up your phone. How'd this happen?!" He sounded so concerned, maybe even a little afraid. "It's.. nothing, don't worry about it, I'm fine." We both knew I was lying through my teeth. "Alex, I.. I saw b..blood spots all over the hallway.. and its all on your shirt... I thought.." He trailed off, and I could see his lip was trembling a little. The sight of it made me weak. It wasn't until now that I noticed just how affected he was. I could see real fear on his face, and thin silver tears falling silently down his cheek. One hit me on my nose, reminding me of how close we were together. Had he thought that I was going to die? I looked him in the eyes; perfect emerald orbs wrapped gracefully in tears. Only then did I truly see how shaken he was. "Oh Jamie," I whispered. With that we connected in a tight embrace, despite the biting pain in my ribs, and he did something I'd never seen Jamie do before; he started crying into my chest. It was only soft sobbing at first, but within a few seconds he was crying pretty hard. It made me start crying as well, as I snuggled my face into his silky blonde hair. According to my clock we stayed like that for nearly ten minutes, though we'd both stopped crying a little before that. We'd layed down with him on top of me, his head on top of my chest. I was gently stroking his hair, pretending his weight on top of me didn't make it hurt to breathe. Jamie's family was the polar opposite of mine. He lived in a similar home, but his parents were both very kind and loving, and I wouldn't be surprised if he'd never even heard of drugs, much less child abuse... this really shook him. I could feel his warmth. After a few more minutes he looked up at me. I'd propped my shoulders up against the backboard of the bed. His eyes were so big and innocent I wanted to melt away right there. "Oh God.. Alex," he said so tenderly as he looked into my eyes, "When I saw you there I thought I might lose you. T-there was s-so much... so much blood and you were barely moving..." Another tear escaped him and I moved my hand through agony to wipe it off his face. The image was perfect. It cast a spell over me, and before I could think the words came out. "Jamie.... I.. I love you", I said timidly, "I love you more than anyone else..." I could feel myself sinking with the weight of what I'd just done. The die was cast; I wanted to faint right there. His eyes widened for a moment, a look of surprise washing over his face, making me wince. It was quickly overcome by another expression though, something I hadn't seen on anyone's face in a long time; love. He looked me right in my eyes, we were locked together that way. My entire world was reflected in his eyes. I felt like I could see into his soul, and I knew he was looking into mine. It was perfect hypnotism, absolute absorption. I couldn't move, I couldn't breathe, I couldn't think. Slowly he moved up my body until his face was barely an inch from mine, our eyes still locked. Then silently, he moved forward a little further, and my head tilted unconsciously and both our eyes closed. In a moment of total chemistry our lips connected, gently at first, as we pressed into our first kiss. Everything disappeared. The world was spinning into nothingness, my body went numb, my mind blank. Slowly, grudgingly, we pulled away. For a moment though his lips lingered just along the ed ge of mine, still warm and moist from our kiss. Smooth as velvet he whispered onto my lips, whispered the words I'd only been able to dream of him saying previously. "I love you too, Alex, I love you too." With that he pulled back slightly, slid a few inches down my sore body, and nestled his face gently into the space between my chin and collar bone. And in the afterglow or the most perfect moment of my 13 year old life, I rested my chin on his head, and fell asleep next to the boy that I loved. The boy that loved me. My boyfriend. My Jamie. Haha still new to this, so I hope this is how I update! Here's chapter 2. Thanks =] The rest of the day wasn't that great.
