(also, that way i can get to the good stuff soon.. chapter 4 looks promising in that area.. =]) Chapter 2 - Sunday Shopping Spree "Joey! It's after 12. Get up, honey," my mom coaxed as she and my dad filed into my room. "Ugh, what for? I don't have anymore school. It's summer now, mom!" I grumpily retorted, turning over onto my stomach and burying my head under my pillow. "Because we have to go run some errands." My mother thought for a moment before continuing, instantly coming up with a great way to get me out of bed. "Plus, we were going to take you to go get some new clothes and shoes. But, since you don't wanna get out of bed-" "What kind?" I interrupted. "Whatever you want kiddo!" my dad chimed in, having caught onto my mom's game. I was still oblivious to what was going on. "Ok, fine, I'm up.." I said, throwing the covers from on top of me and scrambling out of bed, in search for something to wear. "You're lucky it's for clothes, cause i usually don't get out of bed on Sundays until at LEAST 2," I added. As my parents walked out of my room, I headed for my walk-in closet, which only contained a few outfits, since most were still packed. So I grabbed a pair of socks, loose-fitting jeans, and a plain white T-shirt and went downstairs in search of my Reebok Pumps. I had them for a long time, and was in need for new shoes, and not just one pair, but a few. So it was a good thing that mom had gotten me up. Otherwise, I'd be stuck with these things until God knows when. Having found my shoes (in the kitchen, of all places), I headed to the living room where my parents were waiting for me. My mom grabbed her keys and the three of us headed out the door and piled into her brand-new Toyota Highlander. Off to the mall we went, my mom and dad talking and discussing numerous things, and myself jamming on my new iPod. Yeah, one good thing about my mom and her new job: stuff. New phone, iPod, clothes, shoes, anything and everything. As for her, a new truck, a new house. My dad won't accept anything. I don't know what it is. I think that it could be that he still feels guilty about what happened, or that he doesn't have a job yet and he doesn't feel right getting stuff for himself, or both. Whatever it is, it seems to make my mom uncomfortable. We arrived at the mall around 1 and to make things go more smoother and faster, we decided to split up. My mom handed me 4 crisp 50 dollar bills and told me to call her on her phone when i was done with my shopping, that she had a lot to do herself. I headed in one direction and she headed in another, with my reluctant dad following closely behind her. For as long as I can remember, he has hated going shopping, well, anywhere. So I headed on through the mall, looking at all the stuff that was on display in the windows. In one window, a male mannequin was on display modeling some really cool pants, so I went inside to check out the price. The pants didn't look like anything special, but I really liked them. I didn't like them as much when I found out that they cost 197 bucks. So I walked out of the store in search of some cheaper stores. I decided to walk to an Old Navy outlet store, where i found 5 cool pairs of pants. I still had about 120 bucks left. I wanted to get me some really cool skate shoes and some shirts. I've never skated before or owned a pair of skate shoes or shirts like that, but I've always wanted to learn to skate, so I needed to start dressing the part. As I arrived at the skate store, my phone started vibrating in my pocket. I reached for it and flipped it open. From: Jessica @ 1:28:42 PM hey, where u at buddy? I decided that it would be easier to just call her, so i deleted the message and located her number in my phone and called it. Jessica answered by the third ring. "So, where you at?" she asked. "I'm at the mall, why?" "So am I! Where at?" Her voice started getting high and loud due to her excitement. "At that one skate store.." I said with hesitation, not knowing exactly where she was going with this. "Ok, I'm on my way!" "Whoa, wait, what's going on?" I said, beginning to get impatient. "Both Jeff AND Braydon are here! And I think their heading your way!" she said, no longer trying to contain herself. And with that, she hung up. I just stared at the phone. Jeff and Braydon.. Two totally different guys, but at the same time, so alike. I'll start off with Braydon. He's 13 and has that innocent look that you just can't help but go ga-ga over. He has blond hair that goes down to the bottom of his eyes. He has these bright blue eyes that will leave you mesmerized, as if you were falling under a spell, his spell... He's a little on the short side, around 5 feet even and is of average build, but more toward the 'fit' side. I've never seen him with his shirt off yet, but I can only imagine... He's really athletic, playing soccer and tennis, but a natural- born skater kid. All he does in his spare time is skateboard, and he's pretty damn good. I go to the skate park all the time and watch him skateboard. He's actually the reason why I want to learn. We talk occasionally, and he offered me the other day to teach me how to and stuff. It took everything I had to keep myself calm and under control. He's really outgoing and has a GREAT sense of humor and a smile that would make your heart melt. His laugh is so enchanting that it beats any old song, any old day... As for Jeff, he is quiet. He doesn't usually talk much at all. Over the school year, as with Braydon, I got closer to Jeff, and I'm one of the few people that he will talk to occasionally. He's 14, just like me. He has a similar, innocent-looking face just as Braydon does, but you can clearly tell he's 14. He's 5' 3" with dark hair down to his eyes, dark brown eyes that you can just get lost in. When you can get him to smile, oh... it has almost the same effect as Braydon's does. He's skinnier than Braydon and also skateboards, but has only been skating for about 3 years, according to him. He doesn't play any other sports. Skateboarding is all he does, day and night. Three big things that the two have in common are that they know each other, they both know me, and that I have a major crush on both of them, for very obvious different reasons. So when Jess told me that they were heading my way, I froze, not knowing what do to. Oh, yeah, by the way, if you haven't been able to figure it out by now, I'm gay. A closet gay, but still gay. The only person that knows is Jess, who has been very supportive and has been there for me. I've known I was gay since I was 12, which makes about 2 years now. As soon as I accepted and knew that I was gay, which didn't take long by the way, I immediately ran to her house and told her. Ever since, we had become closer than ever. 'Them, here, now?!' I was panicking. Just then, Jess came up from behind me. "Don't worry, they're still at least a few minutes away," she said in between breaths. I gave her this look of confusion and concern, until she added, "I ran past them to get over here before they did. That's why I'm out of breath." She smiled. "Come on, let's go blow your money." And with that, we headed inside the skate store, but not before hearing, "Joey! Jessica! What's up guys?" Jess stopped and spun around. "Oh, hey Jeff! Hey Braydon!" 'Crap..' I thought, turning around, my face red with excitement and anxiety. "Hey!" With that, the four of us headed into the store, my face as red as ever, and Jess smiling for all she's worth. Chapter 3 - Irony As the four of us walked into the store, I decided that should try and make conversation with Jeff and Braydon to ease my nerves. "So," I started. "what are you guys here for?" "Nothin' much," Jeff said coolly. "Just in need of some new decks." And with that, Jeff looked at Jess, as for she had been staring at him, and gave her a smile and a little wink. She blushed and looked away, trying to hide the smile that had formed on her face. Something that you need to know about Jessica: I may have a crush on both Braydon and Jeff, but she has a MAJOR one on Jeff, one that has lasted since she was 10. That's roughly 5 years, but as for me, I've only known both of them since last summer. But Jess having a big crush on Jeff seems better to me; I prefer Braydon. So I've backed off of Jeff quite a bit, encouraging her to finally just ask him out, but she gets all gitty and everything. While Jeff was flirting with Jess, Braydon started wandering around the store, apparently in search of something. "Uh, Braydon? Aren't the decks over there?" I pointed to my right. "Yeah, but that's not the only reason why I'm here," he said with a scowl. "I'm here to find Dominic.. He's supposed to be grounded. Apparently, he snuck out, and no one knew where he was, but one of my friends told me that he saw him run into this store. Maybe you could help me spot him?" He looked at me and gave me this pleading look. My heart melted. "Of course dude!" I smiled back. I followed him to the center of the store, where he stopped and turned to face me. "This could get loud, so I'd cover your ears if I was you. I found this method to be very effective," he said with a smile. "Uh, ok," I said and plugged my ears, but I could still hear him yell at the top of his lungs, "DOMINIC TURNER, GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE NOOOW!! I KNOW YOU'RE IN HERE!" As soon as I unplugged my ears, I heard footsteps coming from behind us. I turned around to see who was coming. I had never met Dominic before, but I knew it was him as he rushed toward us. He was the 10 year old version of Braydon, just with light brown hair. It was shorter and messy looking, and by that, i mean it was just the way he had his hair done. Done into that just-got-out-of-bed look. If it was lying down flat, it wouldn't reach his eyebrows, not by a long shot. He stook at about 4 feet 7 inches (short, I know) with beautiful, brown piercing eyes. Though they were a different color, they reminded me of Braydon's, and I got that same feeling everytime I looked into them. He was wearing camo cut-offs that were once pants, but now shorts, and a tank top. He was beautiful... "Why are you here?" Braydon drilled Dominic after he reached us. "You're grounded, remember?" "As you told me once, Bray," Dominic said with a cocky smile. "What our parents don't know-" "Yeah, but they'll be home soon you idiot!" He yelled. "And I was supposed to make sure you stayed home! If you aren't there, I'll get into big trouble. And if I get into trouble," He glared at his younger brother and cracked his knuckles. "If that happens, I'm comin' after you." Dominic laughed. "If you do anything to me, I'll tell your secret." Braydon stood frozen on the spot, then said in a low, deep voice, "You wouldn't dare." "Oh, believe me, I would." A sly smile came across Dominic's face. "In fact, what's stopping me from saying it right now?" "You little-" Braydon started to say as he took a step forward, but was cut off by Dominic. "Take one more step and your secret's out!" Braydon was now less than two feet away from Dominic. So what does he do? He grabs the front of Dominic's shirt and pulls him up to his face. Braydon opens up his mouth, but before he can say anything, Dominic, with a smile on his face, lets the cat out of the bag. He says it only loud enough for me and his brother to hear. "Braydon has a crush on you." (for quicker updates to the story, visit http://blueandyellow.17.forumer.com/. [working on chapter 4] emails and tips always welcome!)
