Date: Mon, 28 Apr 2008 21:29:35 +0100 (BST) From: Jackson Lloyd Subject: THE BOYS OF LOCH PARK AVENUE CHAPTER VI Chapter VI "Entrapment" Now by this point you may be a bit lost so let me explain by giving you more information, obviously. Alex had been receiving a huge amount of flack at school for being gay, that much I failed to tell you in the last chapter. Things are never what they seem. There was the extra attention he was receiving but there was also a lot of bullying. The situation for Nathan was much the same and suspicions around David where being voiced after him and Nathan became friends again. In fact the boys where getting so much publicity, that Mr Atkinson pulled Nathan in for a chat. It was during sixth period Nathan was pulled out of class. Mr Atkinson had sent some insignificant member of staff to go get Nathan. You know? the ones who are always just cutting up paper with a guillotine. They always look as if they're contemplating putting their head in it. Nathan was not unfamiliar to this as his school seemed to be littered with them. All this was going through his head as he walked through Mr Atkinson's door. The lettering on his door would be the last thing he sees before things change forever. "Nathan," he said chirpily "please sit." Nathan sat, dreading what was going to happen. "I have heard about the rumours and what happened in the showers. You are in a great deal of trouble for that incident by the way, despite how long ago it happened." Nathan was tensing knowing something strange was going on. "You have two options, one I notify your parents and you are suspended for a week. Or two, I will punish you here and now, after that it will be all forgotten about." Nathan wondered why one of the options seemed more attractive than the others but yet made him feel hesitant. What could Mr Atkinson do in his own office to punish him that would be an equivalent to option one. "What's the punishment in option two?" Nathan asked cynically. "Option 1, or option 2 Mr Fisher." Atkinson said making it clear that he wasn't going to be letting any hints go. "Well I suppose..." Mr Atkinson leaned forward "... option two." Nathan said looking most vulnerable. Mr Atkinson was looking most sinister at this moment in time. Nathan began to wonder if he had done the right thing or had just had a momentary lapse of reason. Mr Atkinson got up from his chair and motioned for Nathan to follow suit. Nathan looked out of the open door catching a last glimpse of the outside world. His fear increasing as Mr Atkinson closed the door and turned the key. Nathan had stepped into the unknown to avoid being caught and was now trapped. It was all just another brick in the wall. Didn't I tell you about the wall? Everyone lays at least a few bricks, just enough to hide from their fears. Nathan's wall, for example, consists of the fear of being out. As well as life's other little annoyances. The wall will grow however and you will eventually get trapped inside. And you may go slightly insane. This is entrapment. Unfortunately for Nathan he had become trapped quite literally, not just metaphorically. And when the door opened again, Nathan came out a different person. Things were going to be different from know on, not that they were normal before. But then again who can say what normal is, so let's say less average. Nathan, know back into the outside world, still felt claustrophobic and somehow even more anxious than he was inside that, that room. "You alright son?" A women said to Nathan as he stood outside Mr Atkinson's door looking most distressed. "Yeah I'm fine." Nathan stuttered. The women was not convinced but never pressed the issue, so Nathan simply went back to class. David however did press the matter when he saw Nathan. "What's up?" He started, in a concerned voice. "Nothing." Nathan shot at him in a hiss. David looked hurt at this, "I'm sorry." And with Nathan's eyes started to swell. He was experiencing a lot of different emotions and well it got too much for him. "Nathan?" David said shaking his arm, "Nathan?" "Miss, Nathan's crying." One of the boy's' immature peers said in a particularly winy voice. The teacher looked up and noticed Nathan's obvious state of distress. She tried to save him the embarrassment of crying in front of the whole class, by taking him out right away. But it was too late. From the minute Nathan's classmate called out, all thirty two students in the class turned round. Now standing outside with his teacher, who was not exactly an un attractive women. He felt disgusted with himself, here he was, with a beautiful women that was trying to comfort him and he couldn't be less attracted. He began to cry heavier and wouldn't tell the teacher what was wrong. "Please Nathan, speak to me. It's ok." She said rubbing his arm. "I'm fine. I'm fine." Nathan said trying desperately to convince her. But as you may have guessed, she wouldn't believe him, regardless of his claims. All he could think about was the lettering on the door. He started to feel more claustrophobic and in an act of desperation ran away. The teacher ran after him, being disloyal to her duties as a carer for the children in the class. The irony of it was that she was trying to help whilst doing so. She quickly lost him and rushed to the staff base to phone into the office. After all students escaping class is not good for the schools reputation. Nathan ran towards the nearer exit to get some air. He was embarrassed, claustrophobic, hurt, in fear, angry and about a million other things. He, once able to carry on, ran home and went up into his room. He had the house to himself as his parents where at work. The phone rang but Nathan daren't answer it in case it was the school. Meanwhile, back at the school, David was now the one outside talking to Miss Yule. "I asked him what was wrong and he bit ma heid aff." `heid aff' translates as `head off' in the Scottish dialect by the way. "That's when he burst into tears." "You know anything about why he did though?" David thought about this question and then answered, "No."... She looked at him, knowing fine well he was lying. "You can go back in now." However David was not the last to come out and from the rumours Miss Yule had heard he had involuntary came out in more ways than one. Except instead of out of the classroom, it was more like, out to the classroom. "Billy? Come here." You may not remember Billy. It was his fault that Nathan was in this `Predicament' in the first place. If he didn't bad mouth Alex to David then the incident wouldn't have happened. Hence, Nathan wouldn't have ever gone to Mr Atkinson. "Right then why don't you explain why Nathan was in that state?" She said in a patronising tone when they where outside. She had always taken a particular interest in this pupil, which baffled her. She talked to her registration class, who so happened to be in the same year about it. Unethical yes but when they brought it up she wasn't going to drop it. She knew all about what Billy done at football training and thought that maybe somehow he was responsible. "Why would I know?" "Because it's your fault all this happened." She was being awfully hard on him. He was a bastard but the way she was treating him was inappropriate. When it came to Nathan she could be a bit short with people. "HOW WAS IT MA FALUT?" Billy screamed at her, to which she took umbrage. "Billy Connor! Calm down." The irony of her losing her temper on him to calm him down was not lost on Billy. In fact his reply showed his understanding of it, "Bit of a cheek to talk Miss." Although Billy was not stupid he came across, a bit simple. Miss Yule soon realised she was not going to gain any information from him and released him. She could've detained him for being insolent but she could hardly say to another member of staff. `Aye a was only accusing him of a politically incorrect rumour when he turned on me.' Point is, Nathan was, not to put to fine a point on it, Fucked. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Sorry For The LONG Wait. but I choose to write when I felt like it, hence giving better quality. However I choose to do this as I moved house so, yeah I've been busy. But next chapter shouldn't be half as long a wait. Comments are welcome.
